Going through FFXIII again (via Let’s Play), I’m impressed at just how well the characters and their relationships hold up after all these years.
Especially Snow and Serah. I don’t think I really appreciated as a kid just how good their flashback scenes were. Serah is branded a l’cie and knows she will either turn into a monster or a crystal - and not to mention she’s branded by the enemy. She is terrified and can’t even turn to her sister for help.
Just seeing Snow there by her side, reassuring her, helping her, and trying to look forward to the future.... I love him so much T_T
#final fantasy xiii#i can't really remember what teenage me taught of these scenes#i remember always liking Snow but I don't really remember Serah as well#also going through the LP.... i'm so glad this LP exists because i'm sorry but this game is not fun to play orz#i do kinda wish the LPer would show the 13 days data logs more though#i do like the concept of the 13 days leading up to the story though#and it's fun to see them pieced together via out of order flashbacks

i don't CARE about ffxiii's generally bad and linear gameplay. the fabula nova crystallis mythos will forever have me in a chokehold.
#like crystal stasis is my favorite concept ever#once you're a pulse l'cie you're just fucked#it's either do this horrible task and have a peaceful death#or save the world but become a horrible suffering monster doomed for literal eternity#and it's the tragedy of it all that i love#also#the concept of snow and serah's relationship is so sad and i LOVE IT#imagine loving someone and not wanting them to turn to crystal and leave you#but also helping them fulfill their focus because you care too much about them to watch them suffer for the rest of eternity#it's Heartbreaking#it's fated to end in Tragedy#and it's Amazing#ffxiii#fabula nova crystallis#s-in.ramble#s-in.txt

@garbria replied to your post “(This is assuming you played FFXIII, so if you...”:
Well, now I want to play FF13
You should! It's available on Steam and on Xbox, I'm pretty sure (I have the collection for Xbox One, because Sony decided it didn't want to port that one to the PS5 and I'm deluding myself to believe that means they're working on a remaster even though the game really doesn't need it.)
XIII suffered a lot of criticism at launch, most of it was a lot of misogyny, a vast majority of the rest is incongruent in the context of the trilogy (but it's fair criticism, because we didn't KNOW it was a trilogy, at launch, or what that trilogy would look like long term) and the smallest remaining is actually fair and valid.
Common criticisms of XIII are:
"It's a hallway!" Which is true, but it is thematically relevant, and only really valid for the first game. It is addressed (beautifully) in XIII-2 and Lightning Returns, because the point of trapping the player and the characters in a hallway is to highlight through gameplay the concept of prophecy and fate as well as to reflect on the player how the characters are acting.
"The story makes no sense!" The story makes perfect sense if you understand it as a god's long term gambit. But specifically the complaint is that the characters are trapped in a situation where killing the big bad will trigger the apocalypse, and after going back and forth about it for twenty hours, they settle in on killing the big bad. People notice, correctly, that this still not really a choice, but they fail to land on the fact nothing in XIII is meant to be a choice. Because it's all ordained and determined by the gods (plural, this is important.)
"The ending is an asspull!" The ending is a literal act of god, yes. There are no consequences in XIII for it, so you can end on a high note if you don't play the rest, but the entirety of XIII-2 and Lightning Returns is a protracted analysis of why "and then God meddled to save our asses" was the worst possible thing that could happen. And also a great example of why we're gonna end up punching The God in the face over it.
"All the story is in the databooks!" This is... a valid complaint! A lot of the lore and history of this world is contained in the datalog, and only briefly or obliquely referenced by the characters. Meaning, if you want to REALLY understand what's going on, you're gonna have to read a lot. The reason, from a game structure perspective is that the story in XIII really isn't about the war between the gods and their gambles and the history of the world: The story of XIII is about grief and loss and refusing to give up on your loved ones, no matter what, and how that fundamentally changes and propels its protagonists (plural! All 6 of them!) into becoming the kind of people who punch God in the face for all his fuckery.
What XIII actually delivers on is one of the most well-rounded and healthy romantic relationships I've ever seen in media, period (should out to Serah and Snow for not being toxic dipshits, either way), a fantastic and nuanced cast full of flawed, complex characters that are trying their best despite the fact there's literally no options and no choice that could possibly fix their situation, and a nuanced, dynamic combat system that is easy to learn and takes time and skill to master but which will allow you to ridiculous shit while also relying on AI that's both distinct per character, but also reliable. Which like. When was the last time you played an RPG where you could trust your AI party members to not fuck you over mid-boss fight?
Also, it looks gorgeous and I love it.

I never said I wasn't yours is a fave of mine. Would you care to write something from this universe, maybe another parents teachers meeting with Clexa as a couple now. Anything would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Original story here
(Ao3)
As morning light broke the grayness of dawn, dew graced the front lawn, and birds chirped the night away. The cat and the dog napped peacefully on the kitchen rug, a pile of fur and soft snoring. Before alarms disturbed the new day, barely a sound could be heard in the house.
But not for lack of trying.
Lexa bit hard on her palm, muffling her moans as Clarke worked diligently between her legs. One hand was tangled in blonde tresses, tugging and pulling, warning her that it was a weekday morning, but nothing deviated Clarke from her goal.
"Clarke," Lexa begged, unashamed, because waking up to her wife going down on her was great, yes, but in less than an hour she would have to drive four kids to three different schools. Clarke met her eyes with her nose buried in Lexa and lifted her head slightly to say,
"Focus on me, my love. It's just us. "We have a little time." Clarke's chin glistened with arousal, and Lexa bit her tongue.; she nodded. She kept a palm over her mouth as her head fell back on the pillow, and Clarke made good on her promise. Lexa came with shudders and a whine, and Clarke kissed the trailing end of it.
"I just need a minute," Clarke grunted, and Lexa spread her legs farther, inviting, aware of the time but even more aware of her mate. "Fuck, you feel so good," Clarke moaned as Lexa welcomed her, all warmth and want, and left over after glow. "I love you," she whispered into dark hair, and Lexa met her hips in rushed bliss.
Lexa heard the knocking first, her hips stuttering in their search for momentum. Clarke didn't stop, though, as close as she was, rutting mindlessly into her wife.
"Wait." Lexa’s finger grasped at a bulging bicep. "I think I heard something."
"It's just the cat," Clarke panted, her hips always moving. "Babe, please, I'm—"
There was no mistaking the soft knock now, followed by the tiniest voice. "Mommy?"
Lumi. Their youngest.
"Shit," Clarke cursed louder than she wanted, and Lexa widened her eyes at her. "Shit, shit." Clarke pulled out, hard and frustrated, and made her way into the bathroom.
"Don't be so dramatic," Lexa whisper-laughed, covering her nudity with Clarke's robe.
"Says the one who's got to come!" Clarke huffed from the bathroom and closed the door.
Lexa opened the bedroom door to a fidgeting five-year-old, her stuffed rabbit being dragged by the ear at her side.
"Good morning, darling." Lexa picked her up, noticing the frown and pout. "Is everything alright?"
Lumi shook her head and latched her small arms around Lexa's neck. "What happened, baby?" Lexa coaxed her daughter with a peck on the cheek.
"There's something wrong with Serah," Lumi whispered, then pulled back to hug her always-present bunny. "Samson thinks she's sick."
Lexa nodded, making her way down the hallway to the stairs. The twins and Lumi had their bedrooms upstairs, but their just-turned-15-year-old teenager had her own room downstairs. Lumi adored her sister though, and constantly escaped to spend part of the night in the den with Serah.
There was an edge to Lumi, a concern half-formed, as if the youngling did not comprehend the concept of real worry. Lexa bristled. "Why don't you get changed for school, honey? I'll go check on Serah. We already picked your clothes last night, remember?"
Lumi lit up at that, since changing clothes was one of her favorite pastimes. Lexa only wished she would stop doing it in public. "I'll call you for breakfast."
Samson's head bounced on the carpet as the pup ran back to her room. Lexa tightened the robe's knot around her waist and made her way downstairs. Nuggets and Quiet were at the window, fixated on a neighbor leaving for work, and Lexa opened the door to the den. The bed was unmade, which was not atypical. The bathroom’s door was locked, and she heard faint whining.
"Serah? Are you okay? Open the door," she ordered in her mother tone, knocking twice. "Serah."
"Go away."
Well, at least she was alive.
"Serah, open the door."
"I said go away!" The plea was followed by a low growl, and Lexa bristled at the sound. She gritted her teeth, her jaw aching. Her nose itched with something new, something heavy, and she blinked it away.
"Serah, honey, what’s going on? Please open the door."
"Can you call mom?" The growling from the voice was gone, and all that was left was a pitiful wine. Her daughter was in pain, and Lexa rattled on the doorknob, as useless as it would be.
"Are you alright? Serah, please open up."
"Just call mom!" the teen yelled, and Lexa felt a shiver go down her spine. Heavy steps echoed behind Lexa, and she watched Clarke, her hair dripping from her quick shower, climb down the stairs holding a shirtless Lumi.
"She claims her shirt escaped," Clarke said with a grin, but it morphed into a frown when Lexa looked at her. "What’s going on? Lumi said Serah is sick."
"Samson said it," the young omega corrected, and Lexa picked her up.
"She locked herself in the bathroom," Lexa explained in a whisper, adjusting her daughter on her hips. "She’s asking for you."
Clarke’s eyebrows came together in worry, and she stepped up to the bathroom door. Her button-up was outside her jeans, and she was only wearing socks. Lexa made peace with the fact that everyone would be late that morning, and that was just the way mornings went sometimes.
Clarke knocked on the door a couple times, louder than Lexa did. "Honey, it’s me," she called, exchanging a glance with Lexa. "What’s going on?"
"Is mom still there?" Her voice was small and scared, and Lumi tightened her grasp on Lexa’s neck. "I only want to talk to you," Serah said, a small voice beyond the wood. Lexa shook her head, and Clarke shrugged.
"Start with breakfast and get the kids ready. I’ll deal with this."
Lexa wanted to protest. She was always overprotective of the kids, and Serah would always have a special place in her heart. Serah was her first; it had been only the two of them for five long years.
"Please." Clarke touched Lexa’s shoulder, her palm warm and steady. "She’ll be okay."
Lexa’s jaw ached, but she nodded.
Clarke waited until Lexa had left the basement before knocking on the door again. "It’s just me."
It took a minute, but the door unlocked with a soft click. Clarke took one deep breath and understood, hiding her grimace with a cough.
"Oh, honey. It’s okay." She opened her arms, and slowly, weary, Serah accepted the hug.
The teenager had on a black t-shirt picturing whatever band was hot on the radio. The cloth was damp with sweat, and the collar tugged and pulled enough to sit loosely at her sweaty neck. She had a towel around her waist, one hand holding it tight.
Clarke checked her red eyes, took note of her heated forehead, and helped her to bed.
"When did it start?" Clarke asked, holding one hand next to Serah but giving her the option to touch it or not.
"Sometime last night." Serah’s voice was rough, all gravel and tiredness. "It just…" She hugged her own belly, sniffling. Clarke tried to put a hand on her shoulder, but she shrugged it away. "It hurts."
"I know." Clarke cleared her throat. "I’m going to get supplies and make some phone calls. Why don’t you take a shower and dress up in something light? No tight underwear."
Serah nodded, defeated, in pain, and ashamed. Maybe a little angry.
Yep, all the signs were there.
Clarke made her way back upstairs to find Lexa filling up bowls of cereal. She left the twins to their breakfast and approached Clarke, still in her robe. "What’s going on?"
"She’s alright." Clarke kissed her cheek. "I’ll take the day off to stay with her. Can you pick everyone up today?"
"Clarke, what’s going on?" Lexa’s cheeks were rosy with either anger or fear, and Clarke looked at the twins—who were focused on their sugary meal—and Lumi, who was making her own mess with a banana. She lowered her voice and said the only thing Lexa did not want to hear. "Serah is having her first rut. The first time it’s just pain and being uncomfortable. It will take her another year or so to mature her knot."
Lexa swallowed dryly, nodding, numb.
Her baby was rutting.
"I’ll pick up the twins and Lumi. Can you call Serah’s high school?" Lexa said, hoping turning on the 'mom mode' would help her focus.
Clarke nodded, her eyes calm and understanding, and Lexa hated her a little bit because of that.
"I know this is not easy for you—"
"It’s worse for her," Lexa said harshly, making her way to the stairs. "She’s at age. It’s normal. It’s normal, right?"
Clarke nodded, following her wife.
"She’s growing up. And she needs you now," Lexa said.
"Lexa…"
"You’re an alpha, she’s an alpha; you deal with this."
Clarke watched her trot up the stairs. She knew that had been a fear in Lexa’s life when it had been just her and Serah; how would Lexa deal with a rutting alpha teenager? Lexa had an entire plan by the time Serah was three, with Abby and Raven as emergency contacts. Everything changed when they reconnected, but that fear, that feeling of not being enough, was still present in Lexa’s heart.
And the plain rejection earlier did not help.
"Lexa?" Clarke called, and Lexa’s shoulders rose as she stopped at the top of the stairs. "She loves you. That never changed."
Lexa’s shoulder lowered, but she didn’t stop, walking straight to their bedroom.
Clarke sighed and palmed her pants in search of her phone. It was going to be a long day.
00000
Lexa had a horrible day.
She couldn’t concentrate at work and didn’t add a single development to any of her cases. She constantly checked her phone for Clarke’s updates, but in the end, that was what really bothered Lexa: there was nothing she could do.
Her baby was growing up and didn’t need her anymore.
At least she had another three that would need her for a little longer, she thought, as she parked the car blasting Paw Patrol’s songs.
"Okay, one more time," Lexa said, eyeing the twins and Lumi through the mirror. "What are the rules?"
"We leave Serah alone," the three repeated in bored monotone.
"Okay, good. Now let’s get inside because your mom made dinner."
The twins look at each other and gag.
"It’s pasta!" Lexa completed, and she watched her boys shrug and run inside. She took her time freeing Lumi from her car seat and followed her children inside.
The house was eerily quiet.
"In here," Clarke called from the kitchen. "Dinner is almost ready." The twins and Lumi had disappeared upstairs. Lexa pecked Clarke’s lips, noticing her sports bra and shorts. "She’s napping. We went for a run. A long run."
Lexa nodded. "Is she… Is she okay? Is she in pain?"
"I asked the boys not to laugh at the ice pack on her crotch and warned them their time would come."
Lexa tasted the boiling red sauce and added herbs from their spice cabinet. "Is she not going to join us for dinner?"
"Probably not. She ate some already." Clarke placed her chin over Lexa’s shoulder, stretching a little to do so. "Are you okay?"
"Yes. Busy day."
Clarke hummed, unconvinced. "Let her come to you."
"If she ever does that." Lexa tasted the sauce and added a pinch of salt. She turned to kiss Clarke’s cheek. "Call the kids. It’s ready."
"Don’t take the glory for my dinner."
"It’s canned tomato sauce and pasta, Clarke."
"Which I boiled perfectly to al dente." Laughing, Clarke left to gather their family for dinner. Most of their family, at least.
Serah didn’t leave her room until late in the night. The shower upstairs was running for Clarke. The twins were wrapping up their homework, and Lumi had been asleep for an hour. Lexa scrubbed pasta that had dried in the bottom of the pan, so focused on scrapping the offensive carbs that she didn’t hear the den’s door opening and closing.
"Mom?"
Lexa stopped her endless scrubbing, turning to see Serah by the door. She hug one arm over herself, curls that were the identical copy of Lexa’s damp from a recent shower.
"Hi, love." Lexa dropped the sponge and wiped her hands, her heart full and hurting at the dark circles under Serah’s eyes. She made to hug her daughter, but Serah flinched. Lexa tried to hide the hurt, but Serah’s eyes widened in guilt.
"You smell different," Serah explained. "I wasn’t expecting it."
Lexa breathed easier in relief. "A few things will change about how you scent alphas and omegas. It can be a little jarring at first."
"Mom told me." Serah sat at the kitchen island. "I’m not sure I like it." She wrinkled her nose, tired green searching Lexa and then moving away. "Can I feel it again?" Lexa sat next to her and held her hand. Serah approached carefully, her nose sniffling quietly next to Lexa’s neck. "Is that mom’s claim on you?"
Blushing, Lexa nodded. "Yes. You will be able to tell mated pairs most of the time."
"It’s…" Serah got even closer, her nose brushing Lexa’s skin. Lexa couldn’t resist and kissed the top of her messy curls. "It’s fresh."
Lexa cleared her throat. "Well, I do share a bed with your mother." She felt the heat in her cheeks and watched as Serah pulled back, grimacing.
"Oh my god, am I going to be able to notice when you two—" She fake gagged, and Lexa smirked.
"Not really, and not all the time. But your instincts are wired to notice another alpha’s claim."
Serah closed her eyes and leaned down on the cold marble of the island, her forehead hitting the stone with a soft thud. "This is weird."
"Welcome to adulthood."
Serah turned and looked up at her mom. "I’m sorry about this morning." Her high cheeks were flushed pink. "It was really hurting."
Lexa ran her fingers through her daughter’s hair. She had a fuzzy undercut at her nape that was always soft to the touch. "It’s okay. I was worried about you."
"I’ll do better next time." She straightened up and threw herself into a hug. Lexa accepted it, inhaling the maturing alpha scent from her daughter’s neck. "Do you want to watch a movie downstairs?"
Lexa hugged her closer. More than a decade ago, they would sometimes fall asleep watching something on their bed. When it used to be just the two of them. "Of course."
As Lexa watched some old animation movie with her daughter asleep on her chest, she realized that some changes are for the better. She wasn’t a single mom fighting to be enough for a rebellious teenager; she had a mate and a wife to help her with that. And no matter the changes Serah would go through, she would always be her little girl. Even if she was taller than Lexa already.

top 5 silmira characters? educate the masses my friend
so uh this got a LOT longer than i anticipated because im very normal about this series. anyways. this is all under the cut
megido and har birthclod
obvious answers. they're my blorbos so of course they're #1. they fucking hate each other <3
megido is far and beyond my favorite ofc. he dresses very classy but is self-motivated and ruthless. he has a rose motif. his idle animation is him shimmying. just look at him. he looks like if jet was a piece of shit (he already is, but not an ~Evil~ piece of shit)
he turns into a fucked up mutated version of himself if his brother dies bc har stabilizes the balance between their attributes so he becomes a weird looking dog version of himself. it's my favorite thing in the whole world.
and har (or hal) is your main villain. he wants to rule the world as it is in spite of his brother who wants it to change back. he's a terrible dad (and yes, the guardian angels do call him dad(dy), it's true). doesn't care what sacrifices are made as long as he can accomplish what he wants to.
also he has muppet mouth sometimes. it's great.
2. zohar metatron / sandalphon
treasure literally gave us this bigender/genderfluid LEGEND and said "here's your rival, they can just switch between attributes on a whim like you" and then doesn't play it for laughs at all. they're like your jealous sibling who learned how to whistle before you did and then when you show them you can also whistle they're like NO FAIR I DID IT FIRST.
also, they can turn into this against their will.
it's supposedly very painful. they have no control over it and they don't even want to fight the protagonist at that point. but it does have the best boss music in the game.
youtube
3. faust and sara
i know i keep putting pairs together but I CAN'T HELP IT there's so many good characters in this game. also they're in literally the same area so i should be allowed this one
faust and sara are both hosts of their respective game shows in media city. faust is silhouette and his show revolves around shadow puppetry used as real objects to fight against shyna (including, i kid you not, a fucking tank). sara is mirage and her show is a gambling show with an enormous slot machine. faust gets very little screentime and dialogue but he's just. fucking cool? look at him??? i have no screenshots of his boss fight sadly but it's such a wicked concept. also at the end he turns into a bomb and fucking? explodes??? for the ratings to go up. insane.
sara gets a little more time and she's awesome. here's what she really looks like:
she doesn't like being touched (meaning you can't rob her for money for long, an actual thing you do in this game to get money) and she's so fucking snarky i love her. here's my favorite voice clip of hers, it plays when you finish her fight:
4. serah (featuring delia)
very close name with sara but don't be fooled, they are VERY different! giant fucking butterfly woman!!!
serah was the very first guardian angel, and although it didn't make her the messiah, it did make her a gigantic fucking butterfly. her japanese name is seraphim. you can only fight her under the specific instance that during the last fight with zohar the time limit runs out before you beat them, and then har deletes (re: kills) them in front of you and brings out serah as a more "worthy adversary". also, this is her unique boss theme:
youtube
i say featuring delia on the title because delia is connected to her and it'd feel kind of wrong to mention one and not the other. their relationship is only ever implied and not stated outright, but the implication is that they were (are?) married, especially before serah became a guardian angel. the title "your wife is an angel" is referential to this, and har even threatens delia that if he didn't comply he would hurt his precious serah. (in the original japanese, the translation for that part is that he would be forced to "forward" serah; it sounds like an email, but it's supposed to imply he'd put her at the front lines of battle). also, i just wanted to show off delia because he is the third nose guy in this game
you wanna know what his boss fight is? if you guessed "you fight him on his game show where he makes soup and you throw silhouettes into his soup to hurt him", you'd be correct!
5. dynamis
i have nothing to say. just look at her.
she just wants to sell you some flowers. pretty freakin' flowers. :)
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
pablo (a lad, honestly. look at him. absolutely harmless until he turns into a wolf.)
prinsdams (you never fight them because they eat you. also the one on the right has a surfer dude voice it's amazing. he calls shyna little dudette and everything.)
shyna nera shyna (how could i ever leave out our main girl?)

Clerra hints in FF7 Rebirth so far
I have been wanting to continue writing more, but I was waiting for the script of Act 4 Chapter 7 Part 2 of DFFOO to release at dff.ooo, but that still hasn't happened...so I'll ignore it for now.
The demo footage from the Tokyo Game Show has arrived. I originally didn't expect anything, but it makes sense that the demo shows the flashback and Junon since they were shown in the trailers already.
Here's a list of general stuff followed by miscellaneous Clerra stuff (#7 is biggest):
Climbing is a part of this game.
You can swim in basically any source of water to reach islands.
Yuffie is recruited during the boss fight that involves Priscilla and it seems like the artificial respiration minigame will be done with Yuffie (?maybe?). They were playing it safe there I suppose.
A giant bird creature (i'll just call it "the condor") snatches one of the black cloaked figures. I feel there was always a hint that Zack should be snatched up by something bird-like and fall on some flowers thanks to what the WoFF DLC scene involving Serah showed (search it up on YouTube if you want) and the fact that the condor appeared before Zack's scene in Intergrade's ending (which is why I mention it). There is a little more information about birds and Shinra involving the "Fonadu" enemy. Also, Fort Condor is now an island (it's may be important for Clerra, but that's a long story).
Priscilla is similar to Rikku. In fact, I felt she was so similar that I can literally just say that my crazy theory has been proven right. Rikku is designed after Yuffie and Priscilla, which is why both of them are now involved in the same scene and already know each other. It may not seem important now, but if Rikku appears in DFFOO, it will be. Plus, it's "lore"...in a way. My original theory started with why the concept art of Priscilla looked similar to Rikku (specifically the hair) and why in X-2 Rikku says she once had a crush on someone which was never ever figured out to be anyone except one guy which couldn't possibly be (yes, it's actually Cloud, thanks Nomura).
Rhonda, the mayor for the town under Junon has clothing that is similar in composition to Terra. She has the pink cloak "scarf" around her neck, interesting earrings, a ponytail, and a piece of clothing wrapped around her waist mimicking Terra's sash. She has a tattoo on her left arm as well, but I didn't know what it was. I'd assume there'll be something involving her with this Clerra storyline in Cloud's timeline. The hair bangs of Tifa, Priscilla, and Yuffie are also similar...they may be imitating Cloud's hair in a way. This isn't a new thing since Terra's hair in Dissidia (2008) also imitates Cloud hair (it's very subtle, but you won't un-see it once you notice it and how it goes away in Dissidia NT). Another character will likely be Kyrie in Zack's timeline (and maybe Jessie again if she exists). Priscilla's hair and clothing look more like Terra's now.
The synergy attack with Cloud & Aerith ("Firework Blade") looks like Terra's "Riot Blade" attack from FF6 (three energy beams are shot from Cloud's sword)...however, the most important detail is extremely important. The attack has the 5-petal flower spammed into existence. This flower is always found on Terra's hints: the flowers on Miss Folia's shirt, a promotional Dissidia Arcade image with Cloud, Terra, and Onion Knight, on the New Year 2020 card with mouse Terra, and on Yuffie's clothing in Advent Children. I think this flower is one of the many 5-petaled ones on Terra's leggings.
So, it looks like Riot Blade, and it only has this specific flower involved in it...this is the most important Clerra clue so far, period, in anything. Sure, it could just be a five petaled flower because it's Aerith's attack, but the main difference is that it is MANY. The Yuffie flower hint is very old, btw.
Now, about Zack's timeline...
In Zack's timeline, Elmyra hints that the world may be "ending". The tornado that destroys and incapacitates the others in that timeline is involved in the end of FF7 with Meteor coming close. The case may be that Zack's timeline is Sephiroth winning.
With Sephiroth's words at the end of the trailer, this means that instead of "going to another world", he will bring two worlds together (FF6 and FF7's worlds). This is hinted at in Opera Omnia where worlds actually are merged into one ALL THE TIME, although Sephiroth mentions he wants to travel to other worlds. It could be that Terra (and maybe others) will just appear in the world, but it seems a bit silly to think of it like that...for now (it was one of my original joke theories from early 2020).
Many people were surprised by what Sephiroth said about the Reunion being "worlds merging" and the general assumption is that the timelines are the worlds, but no one is anticipating anything related to Clerra despite all the hints that have been ignored.
The thing is, following the pattern, Cloud in his timeline is with Aerith doing the "FF7 game story". It makes sense that Zack would be doing the opposite thing with Terra in the "FF6 game story" that Cloud is missing from (as he's the original main character of FF6 and Zack was the originally planned "personality" of Cloud for FF7 before they decided on FF6 Cloud and made a big mystery on who's "the real Cloud").
I know that's hard for anyone to believe, but I guess you'll see for yourself...
Still, I don't know WHEN Terra will appear, but it's completely possible it will happen in Rebirth as all the puzzle pieces are set with Zack's timeline along with DFFOO chapter 4 is building up something and the hints are getting too strong for them to continue the secret for four or so more years. Also that Terra statue will be shipped soon that costs as much as a car...obviously, that can't be ignored (will it ship November 2023? I remember it being that.)
Many people like to focus on Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth (theorists especially), but don't seem to notice that the three are distinctly tied to Terra, Aerith, and Jenova.

Wow, I didn't know that about Terra! I'm surprised they were so upfront about that! Maybe her girlfriend was supposed to be Daryl, or they were going to make Locke into a woman who was going to be her girlfriend, kind of like Terra was originally supposed to be a male character. It seems like the idea was reworked for Fang and Vanille's relationship in XIII. (Also Lightning seems like a lesbian.) Thanks for the reply, I'm so pleased!
Also had a similar thought, but for the love of god the only optional/implied- scrapped girlfriend i found is celes(in that one time terra played with the thought of falling in love and flirt with celes only to reject the idea of love) which is with the other guy in the end, im replaying it in english its my next game after finishing 5(which i dont have much of left of).also yeah it feels like the scrapped concept was rewritten into 13! Thats why i was so happy with the inclusion(and yeah i restarted playing 13 in english for the first time and lightning does sound kimda gay, which id preffer than the hope implication that this game have for some reason in jp. Like i love hope, he grew to be a fine man only to be put back into a child in lightning returns which for the love of god i cant stand, let the kid grow, have his relationship with lightning be maternal& non romantic please my personal headcanon is that lightning is a mother figure to hope and hope brings her softer sides, as in what babies, kitten and puppies bring out of pple and for some reason pple really do ship them and im livid. Pretty sure there's no official love interest for claire cause in the toriyama's eyes she is his wife, no man can have her thats why the only pple she is soft for is serah and hope is no threat for Toriyama)
Also im stuck in the sahz vanille segment in the forest when you change weather i hate the bosses idk why but my adult brain is somehow worse in the game then i was before(like dont get me wrong i did get stuck allot but usually in the summon fights or like later game fights idk if the xbox version is bugging on me but im seriously stuck and thats what sparked my replay of the series )
(played it on pc before so idk what i did or is the steam version easier but i wanna get to fang already and im stuck even though i looked at tutorials ಥ‿ಥ
*also just jumped to xiii-2 to replay that one on english as well(the whole xiii trilogy i experienced back in the day in japanese i think my original version was on ps3, but i lent most of my collection when my first ps3 died so ill get that back only when my cousin will visit next)
So im cringing at some of the differences there too. But on funny note i think its hilarious that vanille and fang had an Australian accent, cause in japanese its okinawan i think and the implication are hilarious. Especially on fang it sounds just 100% like she had a huge lesbian vibe in japanese as well and text wise more so but i cant her va in english did such a great job im in tears like most of the cast sounds good in the first game but the 2nd in english 8s evan whackier than the jp and havent gotten to lightning returns yet but i cant wait to see that one dog scene in english, but yeah sorry for gushing i really love thise games and its hard to find pple who played them let alone acknowledge the gays in the games especially in the western sides of the internet (like besidesa handful of actual queer players who actually got far enough in the games & few dudes who just love vannile and fang cause they are fetishizing the lesbians & ignoring the whole lot of representation the games gave us through the years- which is the problem with subtleity cause like in ffvx it was straight out changed in localization cause oh no the guys will be pissed if manly-man macho m'gee over here is fancying the glasses twink 'god forbid' ತ_ತ)
I just really love those game and dont get me wrong in not looking at it in queer centric goggles all the time or thats all i wanna talk about but when i finally find pple to talk about the games with usually after a while when the subject comes and im gushing about how i love fang & vanille /gladio& ignis or even now with 16's terredion pple outside of the very small queer internet bubble is usually get all pissy about it and bitter(which is shocking to happen now in 2023 but its more centered around the 'im not homophobe but not everything is about that) when dude chill all i was talking about is that hey thats the 3rd gay dragoon in a row. (Ignis is kinda a dragoon too, since his moveset with lance equipped is very similar to Arenea)
But yeah not the point so imagin my surprise actually talking about ffxiii queer reps and suddenly most ofy notes is from xiii focused blogs i was sure long dead/new ones ive never seen before.

SNSTSE Sleeping Habits
Snow
The type to fall asleep within ten minutes after laying down. He could be having a fully lucid conversation right up until he passes out. And he won't remember it.
Sleeps through the night. Won’t be woken up by most noises—including loud ones. Will have to be shaken and pushed out of bed for emergencies.
Turns in the earliest—10:00 p.m., latest. Also, wakes up the earliest at 6:00 a.m. to go on his morning runs. He'll get the coffee machine started for Serah and sets out a small plate of toast, jam, and fruit in hopes that she eats it.
He doesn’t need an alarm. He almost always wakes up 5-10 minutes before he has to.
He likes taking a cat nap around 2:00-3:00 p.m. If they have a cat, the cat also sleeps with him. Has woken up several times to the cat's tail in his face.
Sleeps on the side of the bed furthest from the door, on his back. He doesn't have a preference on which side he sleeps, though. Also responsible for opening and closing the blinds.
Sometimes snores, which wakes Estelle up. She’ll shake him, tell him to stop, and he’ll fall back asleep right after. He won’t remember her waking him up.
He sleeps on two stacked old pillows. He cycles them out when Serah gets a new pillow and gives him her old one.
Prefers to sleep in his underwear–hot or cold. The temperature does not dissuade him.
Doesn't dream often. If he does, he rarely remembers them.
Possesses the ability to fall asleep anywhere. So long as there's enough space, he's not picky.
Estelle
Usually the second to turn in. She tries to get in bed by 11:00 p.m. at least. She’s the most crabby if she doesn’t get her nine hours.
Wakes up around 2:00-3:00 a.m. to use the bathroom most nights. And again at 6:00 a.m. from being used to getting ready for work/training. This is when Snow gets out of bed, so she rolls over to take his space.
Last to wake up at 11:00 a.m. Once she discovered the concept of sleeping in, she never went back.
Avoids taking naps. Any naps she takes lasts three hours. She finds it hard to rest for any shorter and rarely wakes up feeling refreshed–she almost always wants to go to bed again soon after.
Prefers to sleep in the middle or between the wall and someone else. She likes feeling compact and cozy. That said, Snow’s an absolute heat radiator, so she sleeps closer to Serah.
She likes to sleep on old, flat downy pillows. Her current pillow is one of Snow’s super old ones.
A moderate-to-light sleeper. She doesn't need to set her alarms loud, but she does anyways.
Side-back sleeper. She shifts a lot trying to find a good position.
Doesn't have much problems falling asleep, but does struggle to quiet her thoughts for it.
The one who switches out their pillow cases every week and sheets every month. They have a lot of pillow cases. Estelle's addicted to pretty blankets.
Also prefers to sleep in her underwear, but wears a dress every night instead. She bought too many matching sets with Serah to waste them. Also, she gets cold easily.
Dreams a lot about zombie apocalypses. She's really good at killing them.
Serah
Has the worst habits. She often ends up staying up late either working or studying (if she's in university). Estelle usually finds her and gets her to go to bed.
Has the most trouble falling asleep. Usually, she tries counting sheep and beating last night's score.
Gets the least amount of sleep, since she needs to get up at 7:00 a.m. to start getting ready for work.
Sleeps on the side closest to the door. The best side to be on, so she feels more motivated to get out of bed than stay in it.
Has five alarms with five-minute intervals between just in-case. The most paranoid about being late to anything. It annoys Estelle a lot, because she uses the alarm that sounds like a factory's going to explode.
Side-sleeper, who sleeps holding onto a pillow.
Also takes three-hour long naps. She never takes naps if she can help it, though. She feels productivity-guilt for it.
Has a lot of neck problems from her work problems. She ends up buying a lot of pillows and switching between them. Unfortunately, her neck problems aren't a sleeping problem. More unfortunately, she refuses to acknowledge this truth.
Usually ends up sleeping in her day wear, despite owning, like, ten pajama dresses from Estelle.
Has terrible bedhead. If she isn't passing out after a long day, she usually braids her hair before bed to avoid tangles. Or Estelle braids it.
Most of her dreams are fairly stressful, work-related, and bizarre. Sometimes, she wakes up upset from one of them.
#snstse canon#this ended up longer than i intended#i started brainstorming last night... at 11:00...#the way i passed all my sleeping problems onto serah... LOL

001. the seaside , as the sun is setting .
once , loneliness was a concept unknown. evenings would be spent with sister or with snow. both were gone now , and she was the girl left behind. each day was greeted with the same hope , she would see them again. to think other wise would be to give up, and that was something serah refused to do. faith. she had to give them that , place her trust. lightning was alive , despite every sign otherwise. something in her heart, an instinct formed from bond between sisters. she wouldn't have left serah behind , not like this. the shore had become a place of escape for her , greeting waves that rolled in like friends. it gave her comfort , a moment of peace. hours could be spent upon the sand , bright blue hues watching the horizon. it's a shared spot now she realizes , smile lights her face towards the other. ❛ are you settling in okay? ❜ new bodhum was no stranger to new faces , striving to make the place feel like home.
#aeyln#( i did something xiii-2 based ! )#( but if it doesnt work i need to work on her bg3 verse <3 )

The number of figures I've made is steadily increasing... Even if 80% or more of it is personal. It's crazy to look back at some of the basic stuff I made early on.
I'm looking forward to making even more for the future.

If you don't mind clarifying this for me: Is Toriyama himself a Clerith fan or does he just push the concept of a love triangle because he enjoys needless, romantic melodrama?
He's a clerith. He wrote all the OG scenarios between Cloud and Aerith from the Midgar section, and has admitted he doesn't remember anything that happens once the group leave Midgar because there's only a couple of scenes between Cloud and Aerith. Basically it's like everything around what he wrote is a black hole in his brain. He also created Jessie and wrote all the Remake scenarios between her and Cloud, so that's why she's such a mirror for OG Aerith being a skanky thirsty two faced bitch.
He also wrote his own clerith fanfiction with ffxiii by having lightning have a dual persona with her soldier self and the lil girl in LR, so that gave him his Cloud character, but then he wanted his pathetic pink princess to resurrect over and over, so created Serah, and then made Snow to satisfy the pathetic "I will never get over you and be depressed for 500yrs" he wanted from AC cloud that was never a thing in canon.
Nojima or Nomura even said they have to watch Toriyama because he adds shit they don't want on the sneak. Nojima vetoed Toriyama's version of Tifa's resolution too, and didn't let him write Aerith's, thankfully. And Kitase has put Toriyama on media so that's why he's doing all the ulti comments, even though he still slips in some biased bullshit here and there. They really tried their best to muzzle him because he's such a pain in the ass.
Toriyama 👇👇👇
Hopefully they haven't got him writing or directing any major scenes in the game.

Originally, I wanted to give Gabriel—AKA a fal’Cie specifically built to be worshipped and used in Barthandelus’ plan to cause civil war by dividing humans via religion—a much more expanded role.
I wanted to make it a “good” fal’Cie in that it’s prime function to maintain/increase Cocoon’s population conflicted with Barthandelus’ plan to destroy Cocoon. Therefore, it branded Thea (and later, Estelle) with the Focus to save Cocoon’s people.
Given how stringent fal’Cie “law” seemed to be, I thought it’d be an interesting concept to explore. Obviously, Gabriel isn’t a “good” fal’Cie. It’s a machine that’s been personified by humans as “good.”
But I think a fal’Cie with a function to “maintain” Cocoon’s population would conflict with Lindzei’s ultimate goal to force Etro’s gate open via Cocoon’s destruction. I don’t think neither Lindzei nor Barthandelus would allow a glaring loophole like this to happen (nor are either of them 4D chess-level of brilliant to orchestrate something like this lol).
So, I scrapped that idea. Gabriel is still a fal’Cie whose primary function is to be worshipped as a deity of family, fertility, and future generations, etc.
It was also a little too complex trying to make Estelle a Cocoon l’Cie (which I mostly forced, ‘cause I thought it would be cool to have other Cocoon l’Cie outside of Raines; but I suppose it wouldn’t really make sense to raise a whole horde of l’Cie to defeat the Pulse l’Cie… the goal isn’t to eradicate them, after all) and to bend logic as to why her Focus didn’t conflict with the group’s Focus.
Also, I just don’t want to make Estelle a l’Cie anymore lol. I don’t want to write the scenes or draw them or design an eidolon (I still have to do these for Serah… and god that’s hard enough). I think her being a plain old human suffering from an inferiority complex stacked on top of inferiority complex is Fine.
I do worry that her being a human is a huge risk for her though. Like, Barthandelus could brand her with null-Focus and poof! Cieth time. Or, he could be completely sadistic, and brand her to fight against the group—resulting in her death either way.
I mean, I wouldn’t write that. But the annoying part of my brain keeps whispering evil to me and now I’m unsure.
Side note: l’Cie brands operate like pokeballs. Once a human is caught branded, they’re no longer able to be caught branded by other trainers fal’Cie.
#my stuff#long post about me rambling on about my xiii canon again#should i make her a l’cie#should i do this even though it would annoy me to write about it#i mean i can make it work#she can point at serah and go you did this!!!#and be a complete jackass about it#now that would be fun to write about

look, at no point will i shit on anyone’s legitimate choice of thirst material. but i am. . .really glad that patrick weekes at least tried to temper the truly unintelligible fervor over the concept art they showed in the bts video. my re-heated-in-the-microwave take? if my lineup of female/female presenting companions (in the part of this Rich Fantasy World that is supposedly full of brown people) is Thin White Lady Mage, Tall Thin White Lady with Horns, and Thin White Lady with a Rapier and a Bird Fetish. . . keep ‘em. *yawn*
#at this point i can't even enjoy the beefy qunari lady#because she's not even beefy#and i continue to hate the titty-sling design#but also where the shit are the FUCKDAMN DWARVES#bioware ffs#i cannot CANNOT express how much i dislike that Fantasy Batgirl atrocity#i would rather have seen three more minutes of Serah Spiderhands than a parade of beige fantasy concepts that aren't even (hopefully)#in the game
