"Whatever kept you so long?" she asked - not anxiously, not pettishly, but with the controlled and privileged edginess of a long-suffering wife.

Hyped Up Rambling: Spoilers for ONE PIECE Chapter 1104
Tumblr media
There are many daddies in One Piece.
But there is only one person who deserves the title of FATHER!
And it’s you, sir Kuma.
As much as I have grievances with Odachii, this is an arc written by a father for his daughter.
Parental love hurts. But still, parents continue to love their children despite the pain, loss, fear, and hardship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again I am reminding you all. The series finale actually began exactly two years back when Luffy punched Saint Charlos.
Kuma just continued the fight that Luffy lit the fire for! As my best friend put it, “Kuma is following in Joy Boy’s footsteps. Bringing light to the world…”
Even a “slave”, stripped and robbed of all his rights, mental prowess, and dignity and abused to the point of being on the brink of death will FIGHT TO PROTECT! A slave who lost everything rose up on his two feet to protect his child and punched the man who sits on the highest seat of power, and Joyboy aka Luffy made it possible.
Tumblr media
And do you know who the people in power fear the most?
The slave they robbed of autonomy.
The scholar they denied true knowledge.
The ethnic groups they massacred.
And the God Born Out Of People’s Despair who comes to seek vengeance.
AND KUMA IS ALL!
Tumblr media
May I also remind you all, Borsalino is worse than Sakazuki, he is a scum without any hope in him or in anyone. He is scarier than a straight-cut villain like Sakazuki.
There is a reason idealists are easier to defeat than cynics. You can’t beat a deadbeat easily.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favourite rascals! Franky and Sanji have no chill! They went after Saturn, without any fear or hesitation, just like they went after Saint Roswald, Doflamingo and Big Mum. Their brain operates on: we are Future Pirate King’s Crew, we will kick anyone who is a scum!
I still can’t believe so many people hate Franky! The dude has literally the least count of losses and the funniest battles! Because he doesn’t fight one one-on-one guy, and he shines in the fights when minions and their bosses are involved against lone him! In Dressrosa he ran wild; kissed a girl (yes without consent; thanks scum Odachii) to defeat her, had a hard-boiled match with Senor Pink, destroyed the SAD factory and went to support the fairies on his own! And In Wano he ran his monster bike right into Big Mom’s face and knocked her out! We need more Franky love!
Tumblr media
And finally!
I don’t like to pit series against series, but this is how you utilize the most cliché theme in the entire world: LOVE. You have to show it with actions and gestures and not tell it to your readers. Yes, Gege, I mean you brat; do better.
Why do you think we the readers and viewers still crumble at the theme of love? It’s extremely simple.
Love is radical.
Love is unpredictable.
Love is powerful.
And time and again in One Piece—Love is an Anomaly.
Ace was born because of Rouge’s willpower born of love.
Sanji was able to retain his humanity because Sora did everything in her power to protect her kids.
Robin was saved because her teachers, mother, and Saul loved her so much that they chose to protect her.
Nojiko and Nami had a chance to live because Bellemere protected them.
Trafalgar Law made it through a life-threatening disease and nihilistic approach to living because Corazón bet his life on him.
Hiluluk’s love for Chopper pushed him to be the doctor who wanted to cure everyone.
Zoro’s love for Kuna is what pushes him to work hard.
Because Franky wants to protect his “Family” he becomes the face of criminal activities.
Shirahoshi never revealed her mother's death circumstances because she decided to protect her mom's dream.
Examples of love changing the course of history are endless in One Piece, hence we should remember: Love is the invariant.

"This is not your bedchamber." "Of course it is, senor."  Santangel opened the wardrobe. "Not a single gown."  "This is my only dress, senor."  "Nor any clean linen."  "You've been looking through my trunk?"  "There is no trunk of clothes to look through." His pale brow lifted. "Not a single sign of occupation. No icon of your patron saint, no candle or dried flower or memento to be seen."  "I am a servant, senor. I have no use for such things."  "Even a servant is permitted a soul, Senorita Cotado."

9 questions to get to know me better
tagged by: @saraminia 💛
Last song: ITEM - stray kids
Favourite Colour: yellow 💛
Last film/show: New Moon from the Twilight series (my friend is going hiking in Washington/visiting Forks)
Sweet/savoury/spicy: sweet
Last thing I googled: “Exhibiting Blackness: African Americans and the American Art Museum” a book I want to add to my reading list after it was mentioned on an art podcast I listen to
Last book: I’m still reading Chican@ Traditions that an old professor wrote for. It’s more like essays put together. The last section was about women who specialized in depicting saints and how they felt connected to the culture/religion/money it was pretty interesting.
Relationship status: single
Current obsessions: the obvious as always (thank you to the friend that read my multi paragraph namjoon rant). my hiking friend told me about this wellness challenge and I’m trying to pick myself back up and get to journaling again so I’ve been trying to stick to that as much as possible.

Spotted something interest in my second Saints Row 2022 playthrough. So, spoiler alert!
The name above the Nahualli's hideout in the graveyard Senor Don Nadie translates to Mr Nobody. Pretty on brand for such a mysterious guy. But there's also this
Tumblr media
I wonder if this is somebody he knew prior to becoming the Nahualli, or just part of the disguise for the tomb, who knows?
Again, it's just a small thing, I just thought it was cool.

El Diario Independiente - Op-Ed
Debauchery Aloof
9 May 1952
Colombia is in shambles! Senor Santiago of the Conservative Cabinet is a traitor to our nation, as he engages in black market activities and is a wanted terrorist. Yet, the Conservatives have easily fallen into his trap, seeing him as nothing more than a saint, and forgiving him for almost letting us get invaded! Senor Jior of the Conservative Cabinet is using his power as Minister for Economic Reformation to unjustly benefit his own company, a clear abuse of power! Senor Benedicto has ordered his men to make passionate love to one another instead of destroying the Liberals, a horrible sin in Catholicism (repent!).
The National Front is a hoax, and I have intelligence that the uncaught spy now intends to surround the joint Cabinet once they convene for a National Front. Yet, the Conservatives seem to fail to consider this, and blindly vote on the National Front. The Liberal Party have broken their vision combining with the terroristic Nationalists, and they now lack the legitimacy that they once had amongst the people. The PLP, too, are but useless populists, and have ruined the legitimacy of the Liberal Cabinet.

They were sitting outside to escape from the sweltering stuffiness of their rooms, the soiled shabbiness of the furniture and decoration, and the sight of the giant cockroaches which shared their tenancy. For such reasons as that, and because your chronicler does not want to be sued for libel, the hotel they were staying at must be nameless.

Happy Easter
Dear readers and fellow bloggers: Good morning. We wish a Happy Easter to all our Christian relatives and friends around the world. We are anxiously waiting the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ tomorrow, Easter Sunday. It is, together with Christmas festivity, the holiest day of the year for Christians and we always respected it. Our brother Gustavo yesterday reminded us that a day like…

José Gregorio Hernández Cisneros, OFS (October 26, 1864 – June 29, 1919) was a Venezuelan physician. Born in Isnotú, Trujillo State, he became a highly renowned doctor, more so after his death. After his death, Hernández's stature began to reach mythic proportions. People around the country started claiming to have been granted miracles after praying for his intercession to God. At present, Hernández is commonly invoked as "José Gregorio" by both doctors and patients for healing purposes. He is also called upon for protection during overland journeys. Eventually, his name became known all over Latin America and Spain.

Haunted Doll Watch!! That’s Delaine in the striped chair (haunted doll 1) and the harlequin doll is Luna (haunted doll 2)
Books! Mostly witchcraft, Wicca, and New Age junk that I snagged for free out of a donation bin during my library days. Yes it includes Big Blue Buckland and To Ride a Silver Broomstick. You can’t see the nearly-complete Kyron collection behind the Pagan Family book but it’s there. Also yes that’s a fanbook for the MXTX series.
The Chris Chan art is on the top shelf next to the tiny treasure chest (which contains old, old Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab scents).
World Band radio from my dad. Journals and notebooks down there.
Literature shelf 1: Joyce and Pynchon and Pratchett but also a first edition of New Frontiers of the Mind which was about to get weeded at a library. Naturally I grabbed it. Also Sister Karol’s Little Book of Spells and Rituals which is so odd and I love it. Rando army officer’s guide that once belonged to a Rosicrucian. No joke.
Tasty-smelling unused candle (unused) with silver butterfly, Nendroid boxes, MXTX books lying down (because they tend to bend when standing up). Imported stickers.
Bottom shelf is a lot of foreign language: Japanese novels, including Memoirs of a Geisha, Misery by Stephen King, and one titled God Is a Gun. Again: donations that I grabbed. Couple of manga because back in the day you could score Japanese manga at conventions. I miss those days. It was fun. One book in Japanese about “Getting Along in English” and another on “adulting.” Also the Glitch game artbook. I miss Glitch so much. The lantern is disassembled because the batteries leaked and I need to clean it up, sigh.
Literature shelves 2+: drawing books, Japanese craft book for cat houses, Cormac McCarthy my beloved, The Practice of the Presence of God. BCP (baptism gift to me as a baby) and the Bible in Chinese (another donation). Teacup for gin (it’s the cucumber one, yes). Random bottles and jars because I love them. A Course in Miracles both volumes and teacher’s workbook (more donations). V.C. Andrews because I sometimes have no taste. Haunted photograph, Arthur, is in the ripped-up looking case to be protected from sunlight. Animal Crossing: New Horizons-edition Switch dock (I didn’t want the paint/decal to get scratched). Little tiny chenille chicks used for pranks. People in a bag for Sashimiko cosplays. Japanese fashion magazines and Gothic & Lolita Bibles. The Red Book sitting on a children’s book in Chinese, partial view of sewing patterns. Unseen: more books stacked on the floor.
Literature shelves 3+: with Saint Dymphna, patroness of those with mental illnesses. Listen, I’ll try anything. There’s Big Blue Buckland’s, couple more Llewellyn magic(k) books, the Normal Tarot book, and the third copy of City of Bohane (I love that book but not enough for 3 copies; long story). Tarot cards and Lenormande cards. Russian language book. Imported stickers. Random electronics bits (cords, &c) and office supplies live in the two bins.
On top you’ve got Senor Misterioso (he glows in the dark) and his real saint figurine self, Doctor Jose Gregorio Hernandez. They are counterparts. Lantern. Fake succulent. Rando room spray. SACRED TUMBLR BRAND SHOELACES!!!! Aforementioned haunted doll, Luna. Egg cup with blessed salt.
On the other side, egg cup w/ salt (alt. view), plastic palm trees from my old desk in the library, “fake” fountain pens and more imported stickers. Fake flowers mostly from cosplay, bowl held by claws (Target Halloween 5 or 6 years ago), cup with a jubilee of pens. Xie Lian bookmark 💗 Tiny gashapon and blind box doodads. Wooden jar.
There you go. That’s my shelves. I can entertain questions if you’d like. Closeups available.
