love your f1 photo cards that’s so fun!! can i ask how you make them?
wahhhh thank u i appreciate it !!! :') it's certainly much cheaper than engaging in Real photocard shenanigans... making them is pretty simple but it does have a few steps so apologies for the incoming overexplanation hkldsfh T__T
i set up 2 files for the front + back side on standard letter paper (or w/e you use in your country; the pcs themselves are 5.5cm x 8.5cm so i do 3x3 on each page!). also a reminder that the order is mirrored horizontally so you need to match the front left-most image with back right-most image & vice versa...
print them out normally; my printer doesn't have double-sided printing so i just print one side a time LOL
use self-adhesive laminate sheets to laminate both sides!!! this isn't necessary but it really helps out the texture and look imo
cut them out however you like, i use a super cheap paper cutter to make my life easier haha
andddd finally i just use the 4mm side of a corner punch to get the rounded corners :') that's basically it!
for ref here's how my files are set up... i like to leave a lot of bleed space on the back just in case the print isn't perfectly aligned but i don't think it's super necessary tbh. Actually it's kind of a waste of ink now that i'm thinking about it so maybe don't do that LOL 😭 and the back designs are just really simple photoshop so nothing special there hlsdfhk but... yes i hope that helps! 🧡

Things I have learned modding Stuff:
-craft vinyl rebacks cheap ass tarot cards pretty well. I recommend a test piece to check for shrinkage
-a charmcasting set is improved by the addition of 3 hamburgers for Cuil theory (none is normal, one is wiggy, two is concerning, three is oooof)
-also tiny rubber ducky for same set (programmer's ducky)
-similar vein, dollhouse 1:12 decor is a lovely scale for items for said set (silver spoons are fun)
-cosmetic bags that fold out flat into a square can have a cloth bottom laid out in them (with choice of markings) as a contained casting surface and transport container. Multiple interchangeable cloths can be made. Bonus points for canvas surface on outside for embroidery
-tins and dice cups can be lined quite effectively with self adhesive felt sheets. Patterns for the felt can be made with scrap paper; however, felt will stretch to cover sins or create new ones
Things I plan to Attempt:
-cutting down a postbound photo album cover to become a Book
-cooking down a stain for the Tiny Door Frame +polishing/seal with the Woo Wax (the purchase of a baby crockpot knockoff with temp control was wise; the scale involved will likely end up in the melt warmer or cooking over a tealight anyway)
-advance the plotting of the Long Coat

BETH MCCARTHY UK TOUR
19.06.2023 @ The Sunflower Lounge, Birmingham (120 Capacity)
Written June 2023
I first saw Beth play when she opened for Emlyn back in March and absolutely loved her set then, so I booked tickets for this show afterwards.
I reached out to her via instagram around a month before the show and managed to secure work experience as she let me come and attend soundcheck to watch/observe because this is what I want to go onto in the future. I arrived at the venue a few hours before doors & by that time, they’d already set/mic’d up the drumkit but were in the process of doing everything else. This meant that I was able to watch them soundcheck to see how things operate at a small gig. I met both Beth & her drummer/MT, Michael who was her only other team member for this small tour. There was also a rep from LiveNation who was running most of it as well as the in-house sound engineer who I was able to talk to briefly. They even had the same sound desk as the one at the college I attend so I was able to easily understand what he was saying. It gave me a lot of insight into how intimate some operations in the industry are & how simple the process can be. I was also able to help out setting up some LED lighting on stage in Beth’s signature colour, pink, & set up the merch desk in the bar above the venue, taking a stock check too. Due to my involvement in the proceedings of the day, I was given an AAA pass that was a sticker. I didn't take the back adhesive off it though, & just carried it in my pocket so I was able to keep it as a souvenir.
One of beth’s more emotional songs is called ‘she gets the flowers’ & when we saw her in Manchester opening for Emlyn, an audience member gave her a singular flower during it & I took inspiration from this by making by making her a small bouquet of pink paper flowers in a little glass bottle with a label that had the date, venue & its size alongside a small message. I placed it in the small room at the back of the venue next to the items of her rider. When Beth noticed it right before the show, she absolutely loved it & said she was gonna keep it forever.
Before the show, I went up into the bar above the venue to meet up with my sister & say hi to some of the audience members as they were all having drinks & mingling before doors opened. A week before the show, Beth had set up a group chat on instagram for all 3 shows & we’d all been talking for most of the week. It was cool to meet these people face to face & have a chance to talk to them before the show. The gig itself was absolutely amazing & I loved every second. The venue was so small that both Beth & her openers, Car Park, had to make their way through the crowd from the back of the room to get to the stage, but this also meant that it felt so much more intimate & set a relaxed feel. We were all able to enjoy ourselves without crushing each other & overall have a great time. Beth has plans to release songs that follow her journey of self-discovery to build up to an EP that’ll be released at the end.Starting with ‘What do you call it?’ in March, followed by ‘She’s Pretty’ in June. This meant that we were able to hear some unreleased songs, and not just the ones we heard at the Deaf Institute as ‘She’s pretty’ was one of those. After the gig, everyone went back up to the bar to continue to hang out & Beth also came up to talk to everyone & get pictures. She knew a few people that had reached out online or followed her for a while before this gig & took the time to talk to us all one by one - not just a photo & go.
This gig was even more enjoyable than most as I knew what had gone into it to make it happen & overall, the day was a fun experience as I was able to see how a gig runs & gain some more insight into all of the future career paths I'm considering. I love Beth's music and her current artistic direction so I look forward to the EP coming out soon!

The fabled blue UK passport is 3 years old today
So this is the perfect time to do a proper, page-by-page comparison of both the old and the new passports, to see how much better the new one is.
Let's start with the front cover
Although neither of them says anything about the EU anymore, the new one contains the words "BRITISH" and is also (a very dark shade of) blue. 0-1 so far to the blue one
Opening up the pages you can start to see some changes.
The first thing you'll notice that the second page is now in HARD plastic, hard as the Brexit that allowed this passport to become blue.
Since EU rules don't apply anymore so you could also remove all of those 22 extra pesky translations of our great country, only leaving English, Welsh, Gaelic, Irish, French and Spanish freeing up the space to include your face not just once, but two times!
We also got rid of the map of Cardiff in the background, and the references to seafaring. The latter was recently banned anyway.
2 points to the blue one so far
Not much change on the next page, apart from the use of hard plastic on the photo page, and the fact that I gained weight. Getting rid of the map of the UK was also a nice change as it was showing Scotland too prominently. They don't deserve this.
In any case this is a tie, so 1-3 points so far
Next one up some notes and some security notes on the old passport, while the translations of the previous page on the new one. There is a watermark of Shakespeare on the old old one, and a map of Edinburgh, both which were replaced with a watermark of the floral emblem. This at least contains reference to all four countries, so that's definitely a nice addition, but so far this is also a tie. 2-4 points so far
Next up on the old design we had to fill up two whole pages with translations. Completely superflous, we could have just used up the same space to allow for extra visas to be added to the passport. With the abolishment of the Freedom of Movement having two extra pages for visas is definitely a worthy addition, so 1 point extra for the blue passport. 2-5 so far.
(We also got rid of the map of London and Belfast. Who needs them)
Page 8 and 9 shows John Harrison and his invention of the marine chronometer that revolutioned sea travel. On the other hand sea travel is dangerous and we just recently banned it, so it's good that this has been removed in favour of a much more stylized clock-like image. Note that it's hand aligns nicely with the page number, showing 8 and 9 respectively. This is definitely a nice touch, much more self-referential than the image of John Harrison, so a win to the blue one. 2-6 so far.
On the old passport the next two pages show John Constable, someone who pursued a lesser career like painting instead of becoming a much more important member of society, like banker or a CEO. There is no need for this kind of vice in our society, so thank this has been removed.
On the new design you can see that the hand of the clock jumped to the 1 position, instead of pointing at 11 and 12 respectively! And it remained in the same position on both pages. This choice must have saved the artist designing the passport some work, so extra points for keeping the design cheap and affordable. 2-7 so far
Next two pages show references to the Royal Mail including the iconic post box, and the first adhesive stamp, the Penny Black. On the other hand spending two pages on this archaic institution is just a waste of paper, especially as they do nothing just strike all the time nowadays.
On the new design? Look, there are now TWO HANDS on the clock! What a lovely addition, it definitely took me by surprise, 2-8 so far.
Next up on the old one are trains, you know that things that are always late, if not cancelled. They are also expensive as hell compared to car ownership, so no need to promote them anymore.
Look a magical line of UNITED KINGDOM has appeared in the background. Hats off to yet another surprise change in design, 2-9!
Next two pages feature Sir Giles and his architectural designs. Unfortunately for him he designed too many well known things and therefore now the page simply looks too cramped for the average viewer.
Unlike the new design, which is still clear, spacious and easy to understand. 2-10
Next two pages feature the London Underground, which will definitely give PTSD to anyone who ever used it during peak hours. London was already featured in the passport with Greewinch and Battersea already anyway, while we haven't seen anything from Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland yet.
No such issue from the new passport, clean and clear with no surprises, and representation from all corners of the UK inside the watermark. 2-11 of course
Architecture yet again, this time from a woman. Also England again, Triple boring.
Seall! The design on page 21 is the same as the one on page 12 albeit the colour difference. This duplication hopefully has yet again driven down the design costs! 2-12!
Antony Gormley. Yet another useless artist who could have become something great during his lifeteime, like I don't know, a Conservative MP, but has chosen not to.
On the other hand we have yet another page where we have design reuse - with page 20 and 22, but this time the colours match as well! Must have been some great savings, 2-13
Come on, didn't we have enough artists so far? And featuring one of the most hated artist of all time? And he is also an immigrant? Yuck!
Thank god we got rid of all of this perversion! 2-14
Arts, Architecture, Shakespeare and London, all on the same page. Everything we have seen so far. Space could have been used for something much more important.
Like this nice and plain design we can see on the new passport. 2-15
Edinburgh Castle? Bagpipes? Who allowed Scotland to be present in the design, we definitely need to fire them and never let them design passports anymore. Also the dragon on the corner looking at the girl like that? That is definitely sexual harassement, let's get rid of this carnality!
On the other hand we can see another clean and nice design, a perfect place to put your last remaining few visas before you need to get another one for £82.50 + shipping fees. 2-16
Finally no more arts or achitecture but something useful: Computers! Internet! The stuff bankers use to do important stuff! No idea why they had to put a women on this page though, but let's just disregard that.
Watch that elements from new design can be seen on the computer screen in the old one. This must have been some great foreknowledge. Let's make this one a tie! 3-17
Buildings? Again? And why so many? Ah, yeah we forgot to include Wales and Northern Ireland in the designs yet, so let's quickly sort them out, before the nationalists notice! Let's still make sure the London eye is centre and front, not to give them too much credit though.
The new one? Same old same old. You can see some art reuse on page 33 (vs page 30) as usual.
However since both designs feature all 4 countries, let's make this one a tie as well: 4-18
Final page! Yet again, only Scotland and Northern Ireland above, but the whole of the UK on the new one. Blue one is a clear winner here: 4-19
And finally the back page. Plain burgundy on the old one, a nice embossed floral design on the blue one. The winner is clear.
So this takes our total to 4-20! A clear and massive victory to the new passport, an exquisite masterpiece, perdectly designed and ideal to the new place of Global Britain in the world, far away from the woke dictatorship of the European Union, and the best Brexit dividend so far (apart from being able to buy cheep booze at airports again)

Canon to live preview new LabelStream LS2000 digital label press at drupa
Canon has announced its commitment to become a significant player in the label and packaging markets with the first live preview outside Japan of the new LabelStream LS2000 water-based digital label press, set for 2025 availability. This announcement was made during the pre-drupa media conference in Dusseldorf in late March.
The LabelStream LS2000, Canon’s inaugural water-based inkjet label press, leverages innovative Canon technologies designed for industrial-scale label printing. Slated for release in the EMEA region in 2025, this press prints in CMYK plus white on self-adhesive substrates and uses a new ink set compliant with food safety standards. At drupa, visitors can witness live label production on paper and film media, with labels ready for varnishing, die-cutting, and slitting on a nearline converting device from Grafisk Maskinfabrik. Print samples from Canon's Edale FL3 flexographic label press will also be available.
Canon will introduce a concept for a sheetfed single-pass, industrial-scale digital corrugated press, targeting corrugated packaging converters. This press aims to deliver offset-like print quality at a 1.7m print width, productivity of up to 8,000 sqm/hr, and new levels of cost-efficiency. Attendees can view a 3D model, print samples, and technology animations of this system.
For those interested in digital printing on corrugated materials, live production of packaging prototypes and short-run promotional packaging will be demonstrated on Canon’s large format Arizona and Colorado printers. These solutions cater to packaging converters and print service providers, enabling personalized, short-run, on-demand packaging production.
Other attractions at the Canon stand
Apart from the LabelStream LS2000, Canon will showcase several other solutions, including the European debut of the new varioPRINT iX1700 sheetfed inkjet press, which will be available in 2025.
Canon will highlight the latest additions to the ProStream and ColorStream ranges of high-speed, web-fed inkjet printers: the ProStream 2000 series and the ColorStream 8200.
“The ProStream 2000 is 20% shorter than the ProStream 3000, so it makes an ideal solution (11:45) for customers that cannot accommodate the larger press,” Hans Schmidbauer, director, of marketing & innovation, commercial print, Canon EMEA said.
Canon will display the new Arizona 2300 FLXflow flatbed wide format printer with PRISMAelevate XL, the new imagePROGRAF PRO series for photo and fine art printing, and the new imagePROGRAF GP series for poster production.
Rounding out the exhibits on the stand will be Canon imagePRESS V series color printers, the varioPRINT TITAN and QUARTZ series monochrome printers, as well as the Colorado M series and UVgel Print Factory together with Canon large format technical documentation systems – all driven by the comprehensive PRISMA suite of production workflow solutions.
“At drupa 2024, we are excited to share the fruits of our continuous investment in technology and business innovation with a global audience, and to present our most extensive portfolio yet of powerful digital production print, label and packaging technologies – ready to support our customers’ growth and diversification ambitions,” said Jennifer Kolloczek, senior director, marketing & innovation, production printing, Canon EMEA.

Can You Personalize Custom Laptop Skins with Your Photos or Designs?
In an era where personalization and self-expression are highly valued, customizing everyday items has become increasingly popular. One such item is laptop skins, which offer a creative canvas for individuals to showcase their unique style and personality. But can you personalize custom laptop skins with your photos or designs? In this blog, we'll explore the world of custom laptop skin and how they allow users to transform their devices into personalized works of art.
Laptop skins are adhesive covers designed to fit the exterior of laptops, protecting against scratches, dings, and wear while adding a touch of individuality. While many laptop skins feature pre-designed patterns or artwork, personalizing them with your photos or designs takes customization to the next level. This allows users to turn their laptops into one-of-a-kind masterpieces that reflect their interests, memories, and passions.
Understanding Laptop Skins
Before delving into the customization options, it's essential to understand what laptop skins are and how they differ from traditional laptop cases or sleeves. Unlike cases or sleeves, which envelop the entire laptop, laptop skins are adhesive decals that adhere to the exterior surface of the device. Made from durable materials such as vinyl or polyurethane, laptop skins provide a protective layer that shields the laptop from scratches, scuffs, and minor damage.
In addition to protection, laptop skins are a blank canvas for personalization. They come in various sizes and shapes to fit different laptop models, ensuring a precise fit. Laptop skins are also removable and reusable, allowing users to change designs or upgrade to new skins without damaging the laptop's surface. With these features in mind, laptop skins offer a versatile and customizable solution for adding flair to your device.
The Rise of Customization
The demand for personalized products has surged in recent years, driven by a desire for self-expression and individuality. From custom clothing to customized accessories, consumers are increasingly seeking ways to make their belongings uniquely their own. This trend has extended to technology accessories, including laptop skins, which now offer extensive customization options to cater to diverse tastes and preferences.
Custom laptop skins allow users to upload their photos, artwork, or designs to be printed onto the skin. This opens up a world of possibilities for creativity, enabling users to showcase their favorite memories, artwork, or even company logos. Whether it's a cherished family photo, a breathtaking landscape, or a whimsical illustration, the ability to personalize laptop skins with your designs offers endless opportunities for self-expression.
The Personalization Process
How does the personalization process for custom laptop skins work? It typically begins with selecting a reputable customization service or platform that offers custom laptop skin design options. These services often provide user-friendly design tools that allow you to upload your images, resize and position them on the laptop skin template, and add text or additional graphics if desired.
Once you've finalized your design, the customization service will produce the laptop skin using high-quality printing techniques, such as digital or sublimation printing. These methods ensure vibrant colors and sharp details, making a professional-looking finished product. After production, the custom laptop skin is shipped directly to your doorstep, ready to be applied to your laptop, and showcase your unique design to the world.
Choosing the Right Material
When customizing laptop skins, it's essential to consider the material options available to ensure durability and longevity. Common materials for laptop skins include vinyl, polyurethane, and decal paper. Vinyl skins are the most popular choice due to their durability, water resistance, and easy application. Polyurethane skins offer similar properties to vinyl but may have a slightly different texture or finish. Decal paper skins are adhesive sheets that can be printed using a standard inkjet or laser printer, offering a more budget-friendly option for DIY enthusiasts.
Before purchasing a custom laptop skin, it's advisable to research the material options offered by different customization services and choose one that best fits your needs and preferences. Consider factors such as durability, ease of application, and compatibility with your laptop model to ensure a satisfactory experience.
Application and Removal
Applying a laptop skins is a straightforward process that requires minimal time and effort. Most laptop skins come with detailed instructions for proper application, typically involving cleaning the laptop surface, aligning the skin with the edges of the device, and smoothing out any air bubbles or wrinkles. Many customization services also provide tutorial videos or step-by-step guides to assist users with the application process.
Similarly, removing a laptop's skin is relatively easy and should not cause any damage to the laptop's surface. Vinyl and polyurethane skins can typically be peeled off without leaving residue or adhesive behind. Decal paper skins may require a bit more care during removal to avoid tearing or leaving residue, but with proper technique, they can be removed cleanly. Overall, the application and removal of laptop skins are hassle-free processes that allow users to change their device's look as often as they like.
Benefits of Custom Laptop Skins
There are several benefits to customizing laptop skins beyond aesthetic appeal. One of the primary advantages is the added protection they provide to the laptop's surface. Laptop skins protect against scratches, dings, and scuffs, preserving the device's appearance and resale value. Additionally, laptop skins can help deter theft by making the device easily identifiable, especially when personalized with unique designs or artwork.
Furthermore, custom laptop skins offer a cost-effective way to refresh the look of your laptop without investing in a new device. Instead of purchasing a brand-new laptop or expensive accessories, you can update your laptop's appearance with a custom skin that reflects your current style or interests. This lets you personalize your device to suit your evolving tastes and preferences without breaking the bank.
Creative Possibilities
The ability to personalize laptop skins with your photos or designs opens up a world of creative possibilities. Whether you're an aspiring artist, photographer, or graphic designer, custom laptop skins provide a platform to showcase your talents and express your creativity. You can create a custom skin featuring your artwork, illustrations, or digital designs, turning your laptop into a portable gallery of your work.
Furthermore, custom laptop skins offer an opportunity to celebrate special moments and memories. Whether it's a graduation photo, a family vacation snapshot, or a beloved pet portrait, you can immortalize cherished memories by incorporating them into your laptop skin design. Every time you use your laptop, you'll be reminded of those meaningful moments and the stories behind them, adding an extra layer of sentimentality to your device.
Corporate Branding and Marketing
Custom laptop skins are powerful marketing tools for businesses looking to promote their brand or corporate identity. Companies can create custom laptop skins featuring logos, slogans, or branding elements to reinforce brand awareness and visibility. Whether used by employees or clients or as promotional giveaways, branded laptop skins provide a cost-effective way to increase brand recognition and leave a lasting impression.
Furthermore, custom laptop skins offer a unique opportunity for businesses to engage with their target audience meaningfully. By allowing customers to personalize their laptop skins with their designs or photos, companies can foster a sense of connection and loyalty among their customer base. Whether customizing laptops for employees or offering branded laptop skins as part of a marketing campaign, businesses can leverage custom laptop skins to enhance their brand image and strengthen customer relationships.
Environmental Considerations
In recent years, there has been growing awareness of the environmental impact of consumer products, including electronic devices and accessories. When choosing custom laptop skins, it's essential to consider the ecological practices of the customization service and the materials used in production. Look for customization services that prioritize sustainability and eco-friendly practices, such as using recyclable or biodegradable materials and minimizing waste in the production process.
Additionally, consider the lifespan of the laptop skin and its potential for reuse or recycling. Opt for high-quality materials that are durable and long-lasting, reducing the need for frequent replacements. When it's time to replace your laptop skin, explore options for recycling or repurposing the old skin to minimize environmental impact. By making informed choices and supporting environmentally conscious brands, you can enjoy the benefits of custom laptop skins while reducing your ecological footprint.
Legal and Ethical Considerations
When personalizing laptop skins with your photos or designs, respecting copyright laws and intellectual property rights is essential. Avoid using copyrighted images, logos, or artwork without permission from the original creator or copyright holder. Instead, focus on creating original designs or using images you have the legal right to reproduce.
Furthermore, ethical considerations should be taken when choosing images or designs for your custom laptop skin. Avoid using offensive or inappropriate photos, as this could reflect poorly on you or your brand. Instead, opt for images that align with your values and reflect positively on your personal or professional identity. By exercising ethical judgment and adhering to legal guidelines, you can create custom laptop skins that are both visually appealing and socially responsible.
Conclusion
In conclusion, custom laptop skins offer a versatile and creative way to personalize your device and showcase your unique style and personality. Whether you upload your photos, artwork, or designs or opt for pre-designed options, laptop skins provide endless opportunities for self-expression and customization. From protecting your laptop's surface to making a fashion statement, custom laptop skins allow you to make your device your own.
As technology continues to evolve, so will the options for customizing laptop skins. With advances in printing technology and materials, the possibilities for creative expression are only limited by your imagination. Whether you're a digital artist, a small business owner, or someone who wants to add a personal touch to your device, custom laptop skins offer a fun and accessible way to make your laptop uniquely yours.
