Update: Yasmin Canario

Yasmin Canario caught our attention first on Canvas Management's website (with its cool design) and it took less than a few seconds before we knew we wanted to feature her on FDIB. Working with Select Models in London, her book is solid and consistent, clearly the result of natural modeling skills.

While gathering pictures for this entry, we started thinking of how much her beauty type (and body type by the way) is underrepresented in today's fashion landscape. Slightly hypocritical, right? When you read daily blurbs about diversity and its importance in fashion, you might got the impression every kind of look is now embraced. Seems that's not exactly exact! Yasmin doesn't really fit the plus-size section neither she is considered lean enough for the catwalk. A situation also experienced by many other models. Good news, though: some of these "in-between" beauties are very successful with their high-end commerical or top-tier editorial work. We wish the same to Yasmin's career.

I feel like the Primaris should have been the catalyst for like, an imperial civil war. At the very least, much unrest in the house of Guilliman. Their existence, let alone rollout/integration, should have had many chapters absolutely rioting. It should be beyond the pale by several orders of magnitude and be seen as an enormous overreach by the more autonomy loving chapters, a blasphemy by the more orthodox chapters, and an existential threat to chapters with geneseed quirks. Plus anyone with any awareness of the thunder warriors should take one look at them and recognize the writing on the wall. Guilliman should absolutely recognize what they represent, what they imply. Like they're the leading wave of a paradigm shift that doesn't bode well for what came before. And I say this as someone who's not averse to Primaris, I just think they could've, should've, been a waaaay bigger deal. I know they loathe changing the status quo and we're never getting rid of the posterboys but I think we missed out on something interesting.

Already the darling of many designers and labels, Rejoice Chuol is Numéro's latest covergirl and she totally deserves it. Building (quite relentlessly) a serious portfolio, the up-and-coming model managed by Models Board, is fine ready for the finest jobs in fashion.

Represented by Select Models and Muse NYC, she can rely on solid placements worldwide to take fashion weeks by storm and translate her flawless catwalk appearances into editorial wonders. If that's not enough, her polaroids above should give you the rest of the answer.
