Thinking about rotg being a world and time beyond goc, where the Guardians— perhaps individually, perhaps in pairs— have connected with Pitch in some manner. Made peace with him, in a way. A few of them have even discussed offering him Guardianship, despite the fact that they as a group were created to fight the fearlings he surrounds himself with. Children need some healthy fear to survive, after all. That may be something that needs to be guarded. Maybe one of them did talk about it with him- and he turned them down.

Thinking about Guardians who maybe didn’t try as hard as they could, but certainly tried more than nothing, to give a chance to Pitch. Guardians who, by the events of the movie, had accepted that it just wasn’t what Pitch wanted. Oh, he wanted to be believed in, but he wanted more than healthy fear, more than children. So the Guardians fight— but one not-Guardian doesn’t quite… get it. He thought they were similar, him and Pitch. He’s not bad, just extreme.

Thinking about having to explain that Pitch could certainly change, could certainly help people— but he didn’t want to.

true colors was good idk why i kept seeing people say it wasn't. i literally went in with low expectations bc of that and was pleasantly surprised. it didn't hit me as hard as the first game and 2 did, but i really did enjoy it a lot. i do think the few side quests and collectables during each chapter are easily missable if you don't explore enough, which i think can affect the outcome of chap. 5. the map/world is a little more open, but it wasn't a big deal to me (if you saw the post i made the other night ignore it lmao). in the end i enjoyed that aspect of it. the story was good and it felt personally relatable in a lot of ways, but it didn't really feel like there was so much at stake in the game even when it came down to the story/relationship-altering choices. which, on a positive note, was a nice reprieve after finishing lis 2. so uh anyway, game fun. had a good time.

I usually go with the right one bc I think it looks better, but the yellow hypno glasses were apart of the fit for so long (++ they help bring out the yellow) that sometimes I still wear them for fun

See How They Run

Self-deprecating humour at its highest. Plenty of allusions you can miss but still enjoy. Saiorse Ronan's Constable is never pity-worthy but very much laugh(and smile)-worthy. Sam Rockwell looks very much like a suspect in his detective-ish drunk pessimism, but it's good to see him make more of an effort. The real Christie play "Mousetrap" and its run-time make your jaw drop but the fictionalised Dennis Corrigan's death leaves a bad taste inside, also (spoiler alert), Christie's own appearance. Here are some snippets from the "brilliant" dialogue for you to enjoy!

"Did you ever meet Stoppard's wife, sir?"

"I did."

"You don't happen to remember her name, do you?"

"It was ... Mrs Stoppard."

"Brilliant."

Or, another.

"What is it, Constable?"

"Uh, nothing, sir. Do you, um, want a cup of tea?"

"Listen to me, Stalker. No one is ever going to take you seriously as a police officer if you act like a tea-lady, do you hear me?"

"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir."

"Milk and two sugars."

So, yes, a lot of fun!

loved every bit of it. the comedy was on point and the mystery was not that surprising but i did get why it was who it was. one thing is that everyone was so off and cruel towards the killer. money runs this world. sad truth.

My #1 post of 2022

Anyone else notice that a decent chunk of stims are things allistics do mostly just to express frustration/impatience?

Things like:

Drumming fingers on a hard surface

Making the popping noise with your mouth

Idle animations

Leg bouncing

Humming

Whistling

Fiddling with literally anything

Pacing

I don't know what to do with this information, but I can't stop thinking about it and what this means in relation to them finding us rude

November's Fav Film Feature

As the month of November comes to an end, let's run through my Fav Film I saw this month!

Note: Some of these movies did not premier in the month of November, rather I saw it in November. If you don't like it, it's my blog and my rules #sorrynotsorry

The Fav: See How They Run

Where to watch the movie: HBO Max

See How They Run was directed by Tom George and its screenplay by Mark Chappell. This is your classic whodunit flipped inside out and turned on its head. I loved the quirkiness, the relentless humor, and the overall playfulness that the characters bring to the screen.

The chemistry between Saoirse Ronan as Constable Stalker and Sam Rockwell as Inspector Stoppard is palpable. They play off of each other so well it's like they've been acting together for decades. Although they are first introduced as foils of one another, Stalker a wide-eyed and bushy-tailed newbie looking for any answer at every wrong turn and Stoppard a weary veteran who's frankly over the job, by the end of the movie, their similarities are more apparent than any other superficial differences that were first pointed out. Without giving too much away, Stalker and Stoppard first bond over the common goal to catch the murderer but as the investigation wears on, he can eventually see a little bit of himself in young Stalker. If you think the talent ends at the two leads, you'd be sorely mistaken.

This cast is star studded with notables like Adrian Brody as the Narrator/Leo Köpernick, Sian Clifford as Edna Romney, and David Oyelowo as Mervyn Cocker-Norris. Each character was able to shine beyond the writing in the script through absurd facial expressions and body language.

The costuming and blocking are reminiscent of the avant-garde style that Wes Anderson is so well known for. The costume and set design transport you back in time to the 1950s West End, England and trap you in the bubble of their world.
