as is my specialty, I'm about to make a short story long, but I promise there's a point to this! 😅

so I'm scared of thunderstorms, esp. ones at night (the unexpected big noises and erratic bright lights just don't do it for my sensory issues), and we had a big ol' thunderstorm last night. I was already sleeping when it came through, so I guess my subconscious decided that it would incorporate the sound effects from the real world into my dream, so I ended up in one of those very realistic dreams where I'm sleeping in my own bed and there's a thunderstorm (very much like what's literally happening)

but in the dream I wake up, and I'm like "this is way too fucking much for me" so I put in my noise cancelling earbuds, but that doesn't totally help and I still feel very nervous, so I decide I need to distract myself. so I pull up my computer and I load up tumblr dot com and guess what??? right there in my dream, I start reading some beautiful fanfic from tumblr user finniestoncrane!!!! 💚💕💚💕 it even had your cool little banners and everything!!

honestly I don't know what fic it was supposed to be or what happened in it because then some other random stuff happened in the dream and then I woke up but pretty much as soon as I woke up completely I was like "I NEED TO TELL FINNIE ABOUT THIS OMG"

so anyway I am here to tell you that your writing has officially made it to the dream world!! I'm not sure if this is its debut in the dream realm (perhaps others have dreamed of reading your fics?) but I can declare that your fics are now (apparently) broadcasting from my subconscious lmao ☺️☺️

shower. not a bath, a shower. use water as hot or cold as u like. u dont even need to wash. just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. sit on the floor if you gotta.

moisturize everything. use whatever lotion u like. unscented? dollar store lotion? fancy ass 48 hour lotion that makes u smell like a field of wildflowers? use whatever you want, and use it all over. 

put on clean, comfortable clothes. 

put on ur favorite underwear. cute black lacy panties? those ridiculous boxers u bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? put em on.

drink cold water. use ice. if u want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

clean something. doesn’t have to be anything big. organize one drawer of ur desk. wash five dirty dishes. do a load of laundry. scrub the bathroom sink. 

blast music. listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
