This might sound overly dramatic, but I'm so sad and disappointed right now because of all those horrible leaks. I know they still might be false, but honestly I believe that save for some details, they are mostly true. There are few things that sadden me the most :

1. Helaemond not being canon. I know that this ship has been controversial, especially among TG, but it really had a lot of potential and was one of my favourite (still is). And I don't care what antis say, there were a lot of hints and undertones in s1 about helaemond, more than for Alicole and look, Alicole apparently becomes canon in the worst possible way. Which brings me to the second point -

2) Alicole being canon. Don't get me wrong. I like this pairing, but it would be much better and more in character if they never acted on their feelings. Not to mention that two sex scenes in ep 1 (if the leak is true) will seem too much and out of nowhere. And to include it in B&C scene with helaena walking in on them having sex right after Jaehaerys is brutally murdered is an atrocious writing decision. F*ck you Condal and whoever is responsible for this.

3) B&C made into a joke. According to the leaks, Helaena won't be given a choice, there will be some upsetting details about getting naked the children and so on..and to have her walk in on her mom having sex with a member of a kingsguard.. Again, f*ck you Condal.

4) Aemond and the brothel madame. Why would he go to the same woman who SAed him when he was 13? And he obviously felt uncomfortable around her in ep 9. And to make him cry while naked in fetal position...I also read on reddit that they will include a mommy kink with breast sucking and whatnot... but this seems way too much and is probably someone's shitty headcanon. At least I hope it is, because if true I'll vomit.

And this is only the first episode. Idk, if this turns out to be true, I'll probably stop watching and it sucks since I really like this universe and was excited about s2. Two years of waiting and for what.. Not only the shortened season but also all this garbage. We'll see in few days, I guess, but I'm not hopeful. Anyway, thanks for reading my rant. See it's a kind suggestion from me very sweetly that it's better if you are not expecting something high from makers n watching it without any expectations because if we are hating just because they did some ships wrong then acc to that alot of changes were already done since s1, like Rhaenicent , Larys alot of things but we never had problems.

Listen I am kinda sad also but you know what..... be happy because you know Ewan and Phia are shipping helaemond🥰. They acknowledging it , loving it and adding some own elements to this ship is really amazing of them moreover just for a fan service.

Like "do it for helaemond" 😭 they are so adorable. See I knew very well that it's not gonna happen, I had a very less surity and that's how exactly it turned out.

But you know what not a single ship is going to have any good romantic future 😂 either all of them even Daemyra main centre couple is not being done well by the makers. What can you expect for others ?

because I knew helaemond had lit ceslu potential but it has to be done correctly and Ik hotd makers would ruin it or make it bad even if it was shown canon look at Alicole now. So being non canon yet addressed by makers and actors who specially said they would act on it for fan service is a kind of little serve.

To me it's like I won ( but at what cost 😭😅) but also winning well wasn't there on cards ever. Every ship is going to be destroyed by makers. see what they did with Helaegon(ik it wasn't any good already) but like I am crying on leaks ( I thought atleast this s2 helaegon would be done but better for Aegon's sake but no😭)

All ships barely are going to have small amount of time without any romantic bullshit, just in one or two scene then seperating apart n dying 😂☠️ as I said earlier so to me Ewan phia trying their own things for helaemond in background in genuinely a small cake😂. ( Atleast we have some scenes with them, idk if there would be😑😬 not expecting much)

One thing I really hate that you know they gave Juan and Cesare arcs to Aegon n Aemond making their pair up way intresting to watch. I really wish that Helaena was given the same authority or bit of freedom of exploring herself like Alicent. Sorry if someone as strictly religious like Alicent can do it then it was way easy for Heleana. And whole Borgias recreate would have been so interesting to watch.

I wish I could see Helaena scolding, shouting at Aemond for starting all this shit n hating Aegon for being a useless father after b&c. There should be a sense of of cheating or fraud when she sees her mother who claims to be a religious person but doing everything against it while she had to suffer her whole life with bad marriage.

Not seeing her any active is what which annoys me so much.

they gave her dreamer arc for Nothing just being ignored by her important family members.Phia should be awarded for her acting n carrying heleana despite of their dirty writing.

The thing is Helaemond would have been a shock and surprise more fitting for audience, making Helaena active with this part instead of doing Alicent dirty an don't even ask how I am feeling about Helaena catching Alicent and Cole . It was sooo😭🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😑

And most ironically funny thing is that same thing happened with Borgias, Cesare and lucrezia were not canon initially and never meant for canon, both actors said we will just play into into it but when I rumours started later runners had no choice to make it canon for later season 😂

So never loose hope or stop loving or hyping any of your ship or helaemond I would say because Ryan can pull any stunt any time. The way he is going I don't think he gives much f about book canon, he is doing anything he wants😂😂

So who knows... if he ever liked Helaemond he can pull it anytime 😂(I m not kidding) bcz Alicole fucking specially between b&c since s1 is so ooc I could not even describe. I am not even hardcore FNB fan but they quite messed up Alicole angst and guilt arc which could have been so beautiful. It's so inconsistent with their parts from S1 like what ?🤦🏻‍♀️

And I hate that blood & cheese should have been how Helaena is suffering instead I am afraid whole light will be thrown on Criston/Alicent fucking reveal.

no couple is gonna have any beautiful story so it's kind of better if they are just playing with helaemond behind back.

Atleast there is so much for Helaemond content and on other hand my other ship Rhaemond is literally carried by lil warriors Leo and Eva 😭 on their shoulder with that one scene for all seasons. I never gonna see them interact again😿.

And yes I also hate how Aemond is sent to back his abuser. Like they could have used any other female if they have to show his milf attraction or some kind of guilt kink something but not his groomer. It sucks he is finding comfort in her arms. Like these show runners forgot how all these characters were exactly in season1 bc such changes r so😭

Overall I would say don't leave the show just in terms for ships to be endgame as not a single ship is going to have any happy ending or any romantic drive in HOTD main focus will be on Rhaenyra, Alicent getting depressed and Daemon will be haunted 😭 but still it's your choice in the end😅 I am no one to say anything.

Now I am mainly watching for Aegon & Aemond n how other new entries like Alys, Alyn, Cregan or Addam are gonna introduced ( well who knows if Daeron is also gets his Cameo in the end )

if I am being honest just like the way I started this show after reading book without having any great expectations. It works better that way and may be for Ewanphia Crumbs for few secs if they don't cut their scenes of which I have very much doubt.

Watched Dead Boy Detectives recently and read some of the comics, putting some thoughts here to get them into words. Minor speculation for the future if we get a second season (which'll be under a cut)

In the comics the boys are younger, somewhere around 12 or 13 I think and their deaths are a little different. The first major plot is actually focused entirely on the school, I like the shift from that and the way they took the cases in the show a lot actually. Although having them meet Crystal in boarding school would've been funny.

I think aging them up was actually the better option, especially if we want more than one season. Actually having them be as young as they were in the comics would've made it so they had to recast every few seasons since dead boys don't exactly age. I think it also allowed for a wider audience, having two main characters as 13 year olds would've been a little young for a lot of viewers to take the show seriously and to tie in with the Sandman show.

I'm really interested to see where they go from here, if they've decided not to use the school at all and how they handle Crystal and her parents. In the show so far we've only really seen the one glimpse of them but they have a bit more depth (like a tiny bit) in the comics and I do wonder if we'll see anything like that or if they'll be just as absent if we get a season 2. A few of the separate big bads they deal with in the comics come from the school, I'm leaning towards that being mostly left behind because of what we saw with Simon, in the comics he was definitely not someone who was ever going to be redeemed or make peace.

I'm putting the rest under a read more for season 2 spec that some people might not want to see (primarily a bit about Niko and where she might be)

So, my first thought is the Neitherlands. Idk how much it shows up in Sandman comics because I haven't gotten to those and is pretty big plot wise in the 2014 DBD run.

The Neitherlands is where a few different characters are trapped, namely 2 friends of Crystals, Hana and Rosa. In the original comics Rosa is taken as a child while with Crystal on a rollercoaster and Hana is sacrificed so her body can be stolen by a demon. Neither of them are exactly what happens to Niko but we don't really know what that charm did and I'm willing to entertain the idea because of it's connection to Tragic Mike.

Now, the thing that made me think of this at all is the most striking feature of the Neitherlands, snow made of bone. In the comics it appears without color, but the main defining feature from the beginning is snow made of bone. I could be entirely off base, but in the comics they are able to rescue and return people from the Neitherlands.

The question about that, is that in the comics the bodies are still alive. Rosa in a coma and Hana possessed by a demon. If Niko is in the Neitherlands while her body has died what does that mean for her return?

(other slight connection between the Neitherlands is that slightly more walrussy Tragic Mike has a direct path in his shop that allows him to go to the Neitherlands. Direct path as in like, him drowning for a while I think, but it works for him. And he did give Niko the lucky charm)

Hello, July. 🌧️☔ Sorry, I didn't make a promise to do some improvised item review because No. 1 - I'm still trying to find a decent GPU Card with a cheap price 🔍🤔, No. 2 - My homeland suffered from the devastating (if not deadly) typhoon⛈️🌪️🇵🇭 days ago, and No. 3 - I'm selling non-functional PC stuff that was staying on shelves for a year to make myself a decent profit and buying a new GPU card, with additional adjustments to prevent a similar tragedy. 💵🖥️ (Or maybe, I'll just buy my own laptop instead as an alternative 💻) As of now, I'm still a helper from my parents' small business without paying a salary (at the same time, I'm still looking for a suitable job. Although, its rainy season so maybe I should get a home-based job? Who knows? 🏠🧑‍💻🤔), as they are focused on earning for renovating our home.

• Nevertheless, I'll be continuing to share my family's throwback items from the past, with another Mobile Phone of the 90s. This right here is the "Motorola d368" 🇺🇸📲 released in 1999 during the peak of Motorola above's popularity competing against Nokia and other cellphone brands, not to mention that their brick-shaped CPs will soon be decreased into small and slimmer packages. While the specs of this phone were nothing new and a 90s spec standard, what's special to me was my mom used to be a "Motorola" user who owned two phones (including this one) before she switched to "Nokia" 🇫🇮📲 in the early 2000s. Furthermore, I could never forget the ringing sound when either received an SMS text or someone's calling from her former Motorola phone. And does it have games on her Moto (a nickname for "Motorola") phone? As far as I know, Nah. 🎮👾❌ Playing pixel games on her old solid Nokia phone(s) never gets old (than a boring and modern revamped Nokia phones). Nowadays, the Motorola brand had brought back to death after its bankruptcy 🇨🇳📲, and it doesn't have the popularity as before (save it for their iconic "Motorola RAZR", which is pretty rad to look at and owing it, to this very day), meanwhile, both "Samsung" 🇰🇷📲 and "Apple" 🇺🇸📲 (as well as other phone brands that we're budget-friendly) dominate each other with their impressive future-proof specs and features, since 2011; That's 13 years, and its already celebrated 10 years of rivalry. But, what about Nokia? 🤔Well, it had a similar fate as Motorola. So yeah... 🤷‍♀️

• As for this phone, you could see it already a "relic" status, with a missing antenna that went broken, the battery for this phone was long gone, and the phone itself was yet another decommissioned much like the previous old Nokia I'd already tackled on Sept of 2023 [CLICK ME!]. Well, your spotlight moment is over and its time for you to go back where you belong; the box of family memorabilia. 😊🤗

Guardian Tales Director Q&A

Q: You are receiving favorable reviews for your story. Are there any plans to provide separate content to view past stories? A: There are no plans to provide it in-game. If possible, I hope you enjoy the story along with the gameplay. As of now, we are thinking of steadily adding a replay feature so that you can enjoy past stories. The full story is also being released on YouTube, so I hope you'll get into the game and try it out yourself.

Q: Many people are unhappy that the playable hero is locked to Knight. A: It's a matter of choice. In Season 2, knights and princesses were the centerpiece of the game, so it was for the sake of immersion. In Season 3, we plan to change it so that users can use their own heroes in the story. However, for those who like to play as knights, we've also made significant improvements to the knight experience. It's your choice.

So basically: teams in story are coming back, and we might get Knight ascension soon?

Q: Last year, you mentioned a new summoning system. Can you elaborate? A: […] Since I personally don't enjoy picking and the current picks don't fit the current state of Guardian Tales, we're introducing a selective pickup system to make it easier to get each hero. The pickup system will allow users to select five heroes and then those heroes will appear. This will make it easier for players to collect the heroes they want. Since the game doesn't force duplicate picks, the value of each hero will be lower. We will adjust the release window to preserve the value of new heroes. In Season 3, we expect that new players will be able to easily pick their favorite heroes from the existing ones, and existing players who have collected all the heroes will be able to focus on picking up new ones.

New summoning mechanic coming soon

Q: There are not enough party presets. A: We plan to improve the preset system along with the UI in Season 3. Enjoy all content with 30 presets. This method allows you to specify a preset for each content once the update is applied.

Q: When will the replay feature be added after Chapter 13? A: Replay is a huge resource drain on our development team. We're working on improvements to simplify and standardize the development process, as there are multiple options in between. Although we did not have enough time to work on Season 3 until the first half of this year, we will develop it in a simplified way in the second half of the year and even show World 18 again

I was not aware replay development was so rough... I hope things become smoother for them

Q: Is it possible to add the ability to visit a guild lobby other than chatting with friends? A: I thought a lot about including the whisper function in the season 3 specs. As a result, there was a lot of other work to do, so it was omitted from the current plan. Adding the ability to visit other guild lobbies is difficult because it requires creating a new guild room. However, in order to strengthen the community function, we will make improvements to make it easier to invite when playing cooperatively or in friendly matches. There were issues that made it difficult to get together in the cooperative expedition. We are also considering updating our profile page so that we can show off our achievements to other users.

Q: Balance controversies are always inevitable. A: There will be no drastic balance changes before Season 3. […] We promised not to nerf existing heroes. We need to look at it over a long period of time, but we plan to periodically buff non-mainstream heroes so that the results can be felt relatively quickly.

Q: There is a trend of subculture games announcing animation production. Does Guardian Tales have any plans? A: There are no immediate plans to do so. It's not my personal preference. I watch a lot of anime, but I really want to tell a story in a game. The main character of Guardian Tales is the player. I don't want to create subculture content centered around the knight. We're open to considering external animation, but we want to keep the emotional impact of the gameplay.

Im surprised to know that they actually considered it. I have to agree with the director here, while i did wish it got one, I dont think an anime would give the same feeling playing the game does.

Q: What are your next collaboration plans?  A: I have a plan. It could be introduced within this year at the earliest, or next year at the latest. Originally, the Tensura collab was planned for last year. There is something I have prepared to present this year. That IP is my first pick. It's an IP that everyone will know when they hear it.

Q: I’m curious about the future princess’s whereabouts. A: We know that there is a high need for a reappearance as it left a great impression during Season 1. Based on the scenario, I think the story of the future princess and the unrecorded world was neatly concluded in season 1. Now, the story of another timeline is open to all possibilities depending on the users' imagination. Rather than waiting for the future princess, I would appreciate it if you looked forward to a scenario where you meet new characters. I will show you a story that will satisfy you.

Q: What is the current status of overseas services? A: Still receiving a lot of love. However, in the case of China, Japan, and Global, content is being used up in line with Korea's progress. As the progress reached a certain level, the initial explosive power faded away. Still, new articles are coming in steadily. In Season 3, we plan to inject new momentum so that you can quickly enjoy it with other users. In line with Korea Season 3, it is being developed so that it can be quickly expanded to overseas markets.

Q: What is your biggest goal as Guardian Tales director? A: There is no final goal point. Because I like story RPGs, I am happy just by creating Guardian Tales that can provide the highest level of emotion. I just hope Guardian Tales continues to make good stories.

time is a flat circle at Silverstone for Ferrari

This is slightly old news now, (yesterday's twitter frenzy) but I think it's interesting i.e. politics at Ferrari so I'm going to talk about it.

There's not many people who don't know what a disaster Silverstone 2022 was for Ferrari. It's the originator of Ted Kravitz's "what a day for ferrari, but they won with the wrong car!" (although he was trying to get a line into DtS, and said so, so this wasn't a completely serious comment).

At the beginning of the 2022 season, Leclerc lead the drivers' standings, and slowly, at this point, the title had swung back to Verstappen through almost no fault of Leclerc's (France 2022 was his fault, but he lost more points through strategy and reliability issues). At Silverstone, Sainz qualified on pole, but Leclerc had superior race pace, even with damage, and by lap 39/52, Ferrari had swapped their cars, and Leclerc was leading, with a 4.5 second gap to Sainz behind.

Also, more crucially, early on, Verstappen had a puncture, and also had damage, running in P8. He was not scoring any big points, and Leclerc sorely needed the 25 points from winning to close the gap. If you watch the DtS episode, or saw any of the post race media, you will have seen Horner on the pitwall saying something along the lines of: "they only have to pit Leclerc, they could sacrifice Sainz" with the late race safety car that occured at this point.

That's not what happened. They didn't pit Leclerc under SC, leaving him stranded on old hards as everyone behind him pitted for new softs. Ferrari gave the team order to Sainz to defend Hamilton/Perez/Alonso behind and allow Leclerc to stay in front but he disobeyed and overtook him, which-- look. I'm not Sainz's biggest fan. But I would expect anyone sane to do what he did. That order was completely stupid.

Leclerc then gave us an insane three way battle ("through goes Hamilton!") on his old hards and ended up P4. Ferrari's strategy blunder here cost them:

A double podium (probably a 1-2).

Instead of admitting to the strategy blunder, Binotto then proceeded to defend the decision and Carlos' win, saying "who's to say if we pitted Leclerc he would have won", and overall defending the strategy call. Leclerc, rightly, was pissed, left for Monaco, and didn't return to Maranello, and Binotto had to go and hunt him down in Monaco and take him to dinner to make up for it.

Silverstone 2022 is largely rumoured to be the turning point for Binotto's dismissal from Ferrari. It's also rumoured Charles pretty much threatened to leave. Red Bull were trying to get him at this point, and Mercedes have also reportedly approached him before. Elkann (Ferrari president) then called in Fred Vasseur.

So, now we get to Silverstone 2024. It's not entirely the same situation. The car is much slower, for one, and unlike race day in 2022, the conditions are extremely mixed. Leclerc starts P11, after a horrific qualifying on a new spec in the dry after running the post-Barcelona spec in FP1 and FP2 to collect data and only running pre-Barcelona spec in FP3 in the wet. Sainz qualifies P7, following an incident in the pitlane that mucked up his last Q3 run.

Vasseur then talks about Leclerc making a mistake costing him an entry to Q3. Already, after qualifying pretty low compared to the expectation, the fans are pissed, and blaming Leclerc for it doesn't smooth over the situation, given that the access to info is easy and the run plan wasn't his fault.

Then. Race day. On the start, Leclerc makes up places for P8, and Sainz makes up a place for P6. Sainz sort of, from this point, has a clear race ahead as Piastri is much faster in the McLaren, and behind, as Stroll is much slower in the AM. This allows him to manage his tyres. Meanwhile, Leclerc gets stuck in the sandwich of Stroll in front and Hulkenberg behind, messing up his tyres. No one's fault, but he clears Stroll around lap 13, and drops back off Sainz because of tyre deg. This is fine, and pretty expected at this stage. There's very little threat behind, and no fight in front, so Leclerc can manage until the rain comes in properly and inters will work.

Verstappen was in a pretty similar situation at this stage of the GP, having been fighting with both Lando behind and Hamilton in front, and was complaining of his tyres being dead. RBR, in response, told him to hang on, as the pocket of rain was going to be over soon. Ferrari, meanwhile told Leclerc there was "heavy rain" expected in a few laps, and were inviting him onto the inters. Leclerc, although making the call himself, was fed wrong information, or misleading information, to make that call. What's truly bizarre, however, is that Sainz was given completely different information on the rain by his engineer. They had a different system of communication regarding rain using the colours on the radar, which worked well.

Regardless, Leclerc pitted for inters too early and it ruined his race. That's the fact of it all. The issue isn't necessarily this, it's that in post-race interviews, he appeared demoralised and, for the first time, said "it's too often that this happens on my side of the garage" which has been true for a long time: he's always had much worse "luck" than his teammates regarding reliability and strategy. And those things aren't necessarily always luck.

This was a strategy blunder, plain and simple: I've seen a couple of people talking about how it may have been smart for Ferrari to take a gamble and to split strategy to help out their "top" driver like RBR. If the gamble had paid off, it could have been huge. That being said. Splitting the strategy, in my opinion, only really matters when the driver behind has nothing to lose (like Perez, running out of the points), and Charles, in P7, scoring points, had something to lose, including possible upward trajectory in the second and third stints of the race.

In post-race, Vasseur then took a really weird line and blamed Leclerc for the decision to pit for inters so early, essentially calling it a risk that didn't pay off. Which it was, but it was a risk that was completely unecessary at the time, and one that Leclerc was baited into taking with poor communication.

So, where does Silverstone 2022 come into this? Well.

On Monday news broke that Vasseur was meeting with Elkann to discuss his performance, post-British GP. It could be argued that it was the string of bad results across the triple header that prompted this, but the similarities are impossible to ignore. Fans immediately started making jokes about Charles having Elkann on speed dial, and it is widely known that Ferrari execs are largely in Charles' pocket.

So, has anything changed since 2022? The political situation at large hasn't, despite a new team principal and firing half of the team since. This also, even as a Leclerc fan, makes me worried. Team decisions need to be made to further development, not keep a driver happy, and although those things usually go hand in hand, with the way development has shaken out and losing Enrico Cardile, and fumbling Adrian Newey, is Ferrari set to be the best of the rest as McLaren, Mercedes and Red Bull seemingly go from strength to strength?

Time is a flat circle, after all. And something is still missing right at the core of Ferrari, and its losing them a shot at championships. They, like McLaren, make critical strategy errors. But unlike McLaren, they don't seem to be capable of owning up to it, and that doesn't bode well for improving this part of their weekends in the future.

Love, Or Whatever You Call It - (TMA, JonMartin, 20.5k, No Age of the Beholding AU) After Jonah's ritual fails, severing Jon's connection to the Beholding, Jon and Martin try to put the pieces of their lives back together. Adjusting to normal life again after everything is hard, and exploring their new relationship is even harder, especially as Martin realizes he might be aro-spec.

Archive Shenanigans - (TMA, Gen fic, 1k, Season 1) All the assistants are the hot assistant, or Tim says Hot Martin Rights and Hot Sasha Rights and even Hot Jon Rights.

Are You Calling Me ‘Darling’? - (TMA, JonMartin, 2.5k, No Age of the Beholding AU) Jon likes it when people call Martin his boyfriend. Martin…doesn’t.

Here Might You Bless Me - (TMA, JonMartin, 4k, Safehouse Era fic) Martin’s changed after Jon pulls him out of The Lonely, and he’s sure that Jon won’t want to stick around once he figures that out. After all, it turns out Jon has a lot of love to give, and who would want to waste their love on someone who can’t return it? Jon convinces him he’s not going anywhere.

Note: Most of these fics are in my top 6 for hits as well as kudos, but I was really surprised to see Archive Shenanigans make the list. It was the first TMA fic I published, 1k of pure unpolished fluff and comedy, but for whatever reason it has a much higher kudos to hits ratio compared to my more-read fic.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I do my best to respond to them, because I want people to know that I read and treasure all of their comments. Sometimes it takes a while though, because I want to give a thoughtful response.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Can’t Have You, Even As An Enemy. It’s a fic where Jon and Tim share a hotel room on the eve of the Unknowing, and talk about (or mostly talk around) their issues. The angst is that it’s written with the intention of being canon compliant, which means that Tim will still die in the explosion, and the best that can be hoped for is that this conversation will give Jon a bit more closure.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I write mainly hurt/comfort, so most of my fic has a happy—or at least hopeful—ending. The happiest might be Can’t We Just Wait Together? (Or Five Times Jon and Tim Didn’t Have a First Date, and One Time They Did), since it’s a 5+1 fic where the final chapter is entirely fluff of Jon and Tim going on a date together.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No. I have comment moderation on just in case, though.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No. Not yet, anyway. Funnily enough, my fic with the highest number of kudos is about Jon and Tim not having sex.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

No. The closest might be Listen to the Voice that Told Me where I borrowed the obedience curse mechanics from the book Ella Enchanted, but it’s not really a crossover of the world or characters.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I know.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No. I do have a few that were podficced, though.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No. I tried, but we only got one chapter in before life got in the way. Maybe someday…

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Jon and Martin, followed by Jon and Tim.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a Melanie-pov AU where she joins the Archives in Season 2 after she realizes something is wrong with Sasha. I wanted to write it as a choose-your-path style story, because I think it’s easy in hindsight to say decisions characters made were wrong, but a lot harder to decide what the right decision would have been, so I wanted to explore a lot of different ways the characters could have messed up with Melanie added to the mix (and maybe a few ways things could have worked out better). I don’t want to say it will never happen, but it’s a big and complicated project so it definitely won’t happen anytime soon.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I’ve had several comments from readers attesting that I’m good at conveying emotion—particularly negative emotions—in a way that feels real and relatable. I’ve also been told that I do a good job portraying character dynamics.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My biggest problem is that since my writing is really emotions-based, once I’ve hit the emotional high points, it’s no longer interesting to me. Which means with longer fic it’s a struggle for me to actually continue through the falling action to the denouement instead of just stopping right after the climax. (I’ve had two getting-together fics now where I initially wanted to end right after the love-confession scene and had to be convinced by my Beta reader that readers would probably want to see at least a scene or two of the characters actually being together now.)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I usually don’t. I definitely think it can add another layer to characterization, so I’d like to where it makes sense for the characters, but I think it needs to be done carefully so that 1. The dialogue sounds natural for native speakers of the language and 2. People who don’t speak the language can grasp the overall meaning of the exchange through context.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

Since I’d like to think my writing skill is consistently improving, my favorite fic is always whichever I’ve most recently completed. That said, I have a soft spot for Here Might You Bless Me, which made the Top 5 Kudos list above. It’s a JonMartin safehouse fic I wrote back in December 2020, where Jon reassures Martin that he is loved even if he can’t return the feeling in the same way. (And Jon uses one of my favorite Edna St. Vincent Millay poems to do so, because I wrote this before I got to Episode 165 and found out that Jon apparently disliked poetry in general, and not just Keats.)

I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED CLARA'S ERA!! JUST WATCHED THE FINALE OF 12'S 2ND SEASON!!!!

as ive already seen bill's season & 13's era - plus just. existing because it's been almost 9 years -, i already knew that a) 12's memory gets wiped of clara and b) clara gets her own time machine. id seen "heaven sent" (penultimate episode) before because my sister rewatched like it a billion times but that was a long time ago. so like. i wasnt totally surprised by the plot aspect. WOW.

ive always hated clara. id only seen her in a couple episode w/ 11 and 12's first season (altho i didnt remember that until i started watching the season and kept being like wait. i remember this episode. but surely this was where i stopped watching. wait i remember this one too). but MAN. after seeing 12's 2nd season, my opinion on her has completely changed.

maybe it's because im aroace-spec and platonic relationships being the main emotional throughline is like. NEVER a thing. and even when it IS a thing, it's usually just queerbaiting where it's like yeah they're friends but only because you're homophobic. but to get a relationship between this very old doctor and a young woman, and they're not a romance? but they still love each other more than they'll love anyone else ever? and one of them literally has to erase their memory so they don't tear the universe apart to stay together???

they go through so much together. they are so unhealthy for each other and yet they're the best thing that ever happened to each other. clara loses danny and with him goes her connection to earth. seriously, after 12's 1st season, she just completely abandons her life and just lives in the tardis. 12 is her family, her partner. she loses herself and fully goes through the doctorification. she literally is forever broken over danny and i dont think she ever heals from it. she just decides to run forever with the master of running.

meanwhile, 12 is horrible at social interactions. he finds it so hard to connect with other people, to express his care. clara is the one person he allows himself to hold onto. and it just escalates so far past any relationship he's ever been in (to my knowledge. ofc w oldwho the doctor did a lot of crazy shit that i dont know about but. for nuwho standards). clara has been by his side for so long that he doesn't know who he is without her. his whole identity is being clara's friend. she is his teacher. she is the compass to his ship.

god. it's so painful. at the best of times, their love fixes the universe. at the worst of times, it destroys the universe. they can't be apart but they can't be together. steven moffat you son of a bitch. steven moffat gets a lot of flak for being a shitty writer for a lot of times but doctor who was something he got right. he did a damn good job with it, with every companion and doctor. he just. he gets the codependency right. first w elevenponds, then w clara n 12. god i love them

Animal Conversions- Wolf and Deer

So me and @thecreaturecodex both have Opinions on how some animals were translated to Pathfinder; a lot of them are weak, small, or just don't do a good job representing the animal they're supposed to be. And beyond that, they're kinda boring, typically lacking in unique abilities.

These are my own "if I ran the zoo" conversions, designed to make nature a bit more interesting and threatening, as well as to serve a good comparison for the spec evo animals I'm converting. You'll notice a few trends; first, I give most animals at least one unique ability to use in combat, but no more than two. Second, my description focuses on how these animals come into contact with humans, as well as one of my personal favorite things to add to monster blocks- a monetary or crafting use for their bodies.

I'm starting with wolves and deer, two common animals in both europe and north america who I especially think need an upgrade- why are wolves CR1? Have you ever been near a wolf? They're massive, gorgeous and terrifying. I have deer filling in the vacant "iconic CR1 animal" niche that wolves left, because as a citizen of NJ, I can tell you, don't fuck with deer.

Additionally, they deal +2 damage with their bite attack when doing so. 

Wolves are versatile and cunning hunters who can take down large prey. They tend to avoid settlements, but desperate or injured wolves often turn to livestock for prey, causing conflict with humanoids. 

Herd Animal, Deer

The elegant creature raises its head, revealing a majestic rack of antlers. It has a tawny brown hide and small black hooves. Deer are common herd animals in temperate regions of the world. They are seasonal breeders and flighty animals who will only attack when absolutely cornered, or ushered by some unnatural force or sickness. 

The antlers of a particularly impressive buck sell for 25gp in many markets, and their meat is worth an additional 25gp.
