Khare can cook and it's the things she does enjoy! She never used to be a cook but after coming to Gotham, it was difficult finding a job without any papers or form of identification. Pauli's Diner was one of the few places offering and were desperate for anybody willing to cover after midnight after the Scarecrow's recent attack on the Grand Avenue, so she took the job, gaining both wages and tips to help cover the cost of living. She would not cook for herself as the apartment she rents is barely habitable and the cooker looks as though it would explode if anybody dared trying to turn the gas on, but Pauli's Diner has an impeccable kitchen with plenty of ingredients and recipes to follow. Simple stample breakfast foods are the easiest things to cook, bacon and eggs, fluffy pancakes, waffles and sandwiches are the most commonly ordered meals between 4am and 8am, with very early risers heading to work for the day and the local GCPD looking to unwind after a hellish night of work. Khare likes the hustle and bustle of the kitchen between taking orders and making the meals herself as during those hours she's pretty much on her own until Pauli himself arrives at 6am, if Cindy and others aren't also working those nights.
