Thank you North American Lighting for so generously supporting the program and Indiana State University.

Brian Gosnell, General Manager of NAL’s Production Control, recently served as the key note speaker at Indiana State University's inaugural MBA Immersion event. This MBA kick-off event was designed to celebrate the program and provide students with a clear charter and direction going forward. Gosnell shared with MBA fellows what made him pursue his MBA, how he chose ISU over other programs, his experience and how it has benefitted his career. Thank you to Brian for representing NAL and for encouraging other MBA students as they begin their program this fall.

As we prepare for a fresh fall and leave behind the scars of a pandemic that disrupted our lives this past year, the Scott MBA would like to make you aware of new endeavors for the 2021-22 calendar – with an eye towards building an inclusive, career-focused community of MBA Fellows.
As you know, we are kick-starting the fall with a new annual event – The MBA Immersion, designed to celebrate our MBA program, wherein we present a clear charter and direction for the program, going forward. Various sessions have been planned to introduce key faculty and staff at ISU as well as to provide information about the Scott MBA and what it means to represent the program.
An event of this magnitude is never successful without proper planning. Getting practitioners and faculty on a Saturday schedule and preparations for the day-long event took hours of planning through this past summer, before we rolled out an invitation to fellows on July 1st. We would like to thank all MBA fellows who have signed up – it shows your passion and dedication to the program. We cannot wait to see you this Saturday! For those of you who are incapable of attending the event, we hope you can attend our future events! Stay tuned for a very happening semester ahead.

Indiana State’s new Online MBA program, which launches this fall, is an evolution for the university, said Dr. Tim London, ISU’s Executive Director of Extended Learning.
It “enables greater speed to completion for those who need their degree quickly and greater flexibility to students who need to build their studies around a busy work and/or home life,”

Hear from Leslie Sims, MBA'21, on three things she learned during her first semester as a SCOB MBA!
1.Stress is only temporary! There are weeks where your work schedule is piled on and hectic but keep moving forward because the weeks following those will be much better.
2. Never Hesitate to Ask Questions!
3. Growth began when I humbled myself! There are many different levels of experience between my classmates and I. I found it difficult to admit that someone who has been a financial planner for the past couple years, definitely had more knowledge than me in that industry. I had to humble myself and admit my areas of weakness, which allowed me to be more open to discussions in class and get to know my classmates better."

Are you interested in pursuing your MBA? Hear from Timothy Ghogle, MBA'22, about three things he learned during his first semester as a Scott College of Business MBA student:
a) Articulating the data precisely as a story is a powerful talent we possess.
b) The pandemic has and is teaching us to navigate through an uncertain and unforeseen situation, equipping us to become adaptably better leaders.
c) Dr. Fleming’s coffee gets you smoothly through the class discussions!
