Nearly 50 students packed the Kenneth L. Smith and Theresa Kathryn (Klein) Smith Magna Carta Courtroom on Tuesday  to learn more about the insurance industry from an ISU alum.

Matt Van Scyoc,, a Scott College of Business graduate ’17 and Marvin Johnson and Associates (MJA) members spoke about the company’s history and the demands of the trucking industry. Afterward, students were invited to test their skills on a semi-truck driving simulator.

At 2pm they will be presenting an open session “Specialization in the Insurance Industry” in the Smith Magna Carta Room, of Federal Hall.

We welcome Michael Lubben on Monday as the Spencer Risk Manager on Campus. Michael is Director of Global Risk Management for Henry Crown and Company / CC Industries, based in Chicago.

Students have two days of Insurance-based meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday and Michael will be presenting the open forum presentation “Risk Management in a Large, Privately-Held Conglomerate” at 12pm on Wednesday, March 29, in the Smith Courtroom in Federal Hall.
