You know, not to quibble too much over Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island but the Voodoo Cat Witches backstory is very...odd. it just...glazes over some...rather obvious... uh....

Like, ok, your vague Cat god cult that happens to use voodoo dolls, whatever. Sure. (Where are yall *from*? You know, nevermind. Ill accept secret cat cults.)

But then they are like "and then some **spice traders** came and started a *pepper plantation* and we ate them all." But they all look like

And there sure are a lot of confederate zombies. But you know who we don't see at all? Like you know what population of people implied by the existence of both plantations and confederates isn't actually ever seen?

.....

And like, maybe it would be weirder if the movie about cursed voodoo werecats grappled with the legacy of slavery in Louisiana. But.....

Talked about this with some discord friends the other day but I’m going to say it here as well.

Lena Dupree is the scariest thing on Moonscar Island.

Simone is often viewed as the leader of the three werecats, and rightfully so, however, I believe Lena is the scariest for the fact of the matter that she takes time to toy with her prey.

Realistically, Lena’s job was done once she’d lured the gang to the island, but even still, she continues to interact with the gang intimately: flirting, making small talk, etc.

Simone is calm, and collected. She does what she needs to get the gang to stay. Lena however, takes a more messy approach. She lets her victims form a false sense of attachment before striking. And I think that is TERRIFYING. The one person on this island who has been consistently welcoming and kind to you was actually just biding her time to use you as a sacrifice.
