My choice for (as of 39 minutes ago) yesterday was the new adaptation of Salem's Lot

I rated this 7/10. Good acting, good effects, the vampires were creepy, the gore was good. A certain storyline ending bummed me out, but I should have expected it lol. Good vampire movie, definitely worth a watch. The vamps were actually creepy and ominous in this, which I appreciated.

The Vamp Turbine 

(A really bad idea for infinite power in Salem's Lot.)

I was watching HBO Max's Salem's Lot the other night and I noticed something peculiar about how crosses work in that movie. I have seen other vampire shows and movies where a cross might weaken a vampire. But in Salem's lot, the crosses glow with a presumably divine golden energy when they are held by the faithful, and that energy repels vampires who are nearby as if pushed by an invisible force. And they get pushed hard, being thrown back dozens of feet by the wielder of the cross. 

To me, this offers incredible potential. Because this energy is generated seemingly from nowhere, I must assume that the energy from the cross is drawn directly from Heaven itself, meaning that the faith of the wielder of the cross opens a portal, allowing the energy of creation to pass through the cross, creating new energy in our universe where there was none before.

Every time somebody in the movie has a cross that starts glowing, every time that cross flings a vampire backwards, a tiny bit of energy is being created and added to the universe. If one could harness this energy, they would have the secrets to clean sustainable power. 

Which brings me to the Vamp Turbine, as depicted in the shitty drawing below.

Tie up some vampires to a wind turbine-like device, have a faithful person stand near it with a cross, and then allow the heavenly energy to flow into the captured vampires, causing the Turbine to spin, absorbing the divine energy of God to power your homes.

I'm certain this couldn't possibly backfire in any way.

Mistral's okay for now, probably still recovering from the attack on Haven but not nearly as bad as Atlas and Vale. I'm... hoping Lionheart can actually summon the courage to fucking help this time around lmfao

Salem's Lot was a fine movie. I wish they'd spent more time developing the characters and their relationships with each other, especially Ben's relationship with Matt and Susie. Like, Matt's death didn't feel that impactful because we knew next to nothing about him and didn't get a proper feeling for what his relationship with Ben was like. Same thing with Susie. The emotional oomph just wasn't there, and when the characters died, I felt nothing. There was potential, but the movie didn't follow through on it. It's a shame, really.

Witch House an experimental electronic musical genre that often (but not always) fits into the EDM genre. Witch House songs usually present an aesthetic that incorporates themes that are dark and revolve around the occult, the supernatural, and horror. Musically, Witch House has a droning, dark, and gothic sound to it that's designed to evoke a gothic atmosphere that works surprisingly well with the House music format. Also, the genre is characterized by the use of high-pitched keyboard effects, heavily layered basslines and trap-style drum loops. Influences include goth ethereal wave, shoegaze, noise, early industrial bands as well as DJ Screw via the chopped and screwed technique. Many Witch House artists have released slowed down and back-masked remixes of pop and hip hop songs with a dark distorted sound, calling it "drag" or "zombie rave" mixes.
