So I did this a while ago with Taylor Swift songs, but I actually listen to a lot of Lana del Rey almost exclusively because so many of her songs remind me of books/writers, particularly early 20th century. So here's a bunch of Lana del Rey songs.

"Cinnamon Girl" makes me think of just. All the literary girls. "If you hold me without hurting me, you'll be the first who ever did" is a good line, and a pretty common character beat for sad women in literature (my beloveds)

"National Anthem" for roughly 2/3 of F. Scott Fitzgerald's work

"The Other Woman" is like Cinnamon Girl in that it applies to a number of my faves.

I'd love to sing in the chorus for basically any oratorio. It's been on my bucket list since 7th grade. I've dipped my toe in (HS choir did selections from The Messiah every year; featured in a production of Elijah but only for "Lift Thine Eyes"), but I desperately want to sing one in its entirety. Obviously The Messiah is the favorite, but Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Israel in Egypt, Elijah, and Stravinsky's Oedipus Rex would all absolutely rule.

Il giorno è arrivato, il momento è arrivato. Oggi mi vaccino contro il virus malvagio.

Arrivo al centro vaccinazioni allestito per l’occasione in un polo fieristico. Non c’è coda all’ingresso e percorro velocemente il percorso creato con le transenne per entrare, sono in anticipo di venti minuti sui dieci minuti richiesti come anticipo per la somministrazione del vaccino. Io ritardatario cronico mi stupisco di questo, va beh aspetterò.

All’ingresso un addetto mi chiede cortesemente di prendere una mascherina da un contenitore che mi porge, quella che indosso a quanto pare non serve a nulla. - Prenda una di queste per favore. - La mia non va bene? - Si sente figo con quella mascherina? - I-io, no, non credo. - Così nera intensa, che raccoglie la barba e le sta aderente sul naso seguendo il suo volto. - Beh si in effetti è comoda. - Si sente figo? - No, le dico di no. - Bene allora non avrà problemi a prendere una mascherina chirurgica. Prendo e indosso in un angolino, quasi a vergognarmi, la mascherina chirurgica.

ORE 17:40 Entro nell’edificio, mi accoglie un altro addetto che mi punta un specie di macchina fotografica mista a un binocolo con parti assemblate di teodolite. So uh six bauds au has inspired a little women au. So like basically Lilac is Meg, Violet is Jo, Klaus is Beth and Nick is Amy. Sunny and Soli are just kind of their baby siblings. The Quags all kind of combine to be Laurie, and Fiona is Mr. Brooke. So this au is set in an ambiguous time period (like asoue) so like diseases such as Scarlett fever are still very much life threatening but like there will be some gay relationships going on (dunclaus and liona). É com grande prazer que damos as boas vindas à ARABELLA SCARLETT SOLIEULRICH, uma HUMANA, da GUILDA DOS BARDOS. Ela tem 26 ANOS e se parece muito com a humana EMERAUDE TOUBIA, mas pode ser apenas algum feitiço. Solis está em festa com a chegada da COSTUREIRA.    

Tudo começou na noite em que uma jovem humana se apaixonou perdidamente por um guerreiro Tiefling, e não tardou para que todo o amor se tornasse maldição. Ao final do terceiro mês Liliabel estava gravida do guerreiro, que quando soube da noticia rapidamente desapareceu, dissipando-se no ar e abandonando a pobre Liliabel com uma criança em seu ventre. Nove meses depois nascera Arabella, a menina dos olhos da mãe. Surpreendia a todos o fato dela ter nascido humana, mas parte da dor foi preenchida com a alegria que a doce criança exalava. Durante alguns anos somente as duas se bastavam, mas ao completar nove anos um acontecimento trágico mudou a vida de Arabella. Um ataque provocado por criminosos levou Liliabel ao descanso profundo, enquanto a criança que assistia escondida entre os tecidos de sua mãe milagrosamente teve a sua vida poupada.

A pequena Arabella sobreviveu sozinha por seis dias e seis noites, se alimentando do resto de pão velho deixado na cozinha e dos frutos que pendiam das arvores, mas após o sexto dia foi entregue a sua tia Celeste, que cruzou o reino para encontra-la assim que soube da noticia. Diferente do esperado, o trágico acontecimento não destruiu a graça a menina carregava consigo, tão pouco tirou-lhe o sorriso, passando a viver em um pequeno casebre com Celeste e seus dois primos, e por lá passou todos os seus anos até chegar no reino.

Vivia uma vida simples porem feliz, onde podia se esgueirar pelos arbustos do bosque, correr pelos campos e escalar até mesmo as arvores mais altas, ainda que com a repreensão de sua tia, que fazia de tudo para que a garota se encaixasse em regras de uma conduta que de nada interessava Arabella. A sua paixão pela dança cresceu e ganhou forma aos seus onze anos, quando encantou a todos em uma festa da vila, chegando a ganhar algumas moedas de ouro pela apresentação, no entanto sua magia não era bem vista pela tia, que proibiu Arabella de repetir sua dança para outros. Mesmo chateada a jovem obedeceu ao pedido, demonstrando gratidão aos esforços que Celeste fez para cria-la, e passou a se concentrar nos meios que poderia utilizar para ajudar em casa. Embora saísse para caçar todos os dias com o seu primo, se negava a ferir qualquer animal, e somente ficava responsável por colher a maior quantidade de frutos e vegetais que podia para alimenta-los em casa, com o tempo passou a também seguir os passos de sua mãe, restaurando roupas antigas, bordando tecidos e criando peças novas, que passou a vender para alguns membros da vila em troca de algumas moedas.

O sucesso das peças fora tanto que Arabella começou a ser notada até mesmo pelos nobres e foi assim que recebeu seu primeiro convite. A jovem foi convidada a ser selecionada mas para o desespero de sua tia que sonhava em ver a sobrinha se casando com alguém da realeza, a morena negou com veemência por detestar toda a ideia da seleção, ser dirigida e ter que obedecer ordens para quem sabe conseguir se casar com um homem que tão pouco conhecia e nem se quer amava, mas aceitou de bom grado o cargo como costureira do reino, trabalhando com vestimentas tanto para as selecionadas como para os nobres do reino e uniformes para os que assim como ela trabalhavam no local.

Os longos fios volumosos e escuros emolduravam o seu rosto fino e delicado. Os lábios avermelhados tendiam por manterem-se em um habitual sorriso, que só lhe era tirado do rosto quando se deparava com provocações alheias, tal como com desrespeito ou injustiça. Os grandes olhos com as íris escuras delatavam uma profundidade que Arabella tendia esconder, mas detinham o tom claro e âmbar quando a mesma estava em contato com seus poderes. A pele clara e macia renegava a palidez de muitas outras e davam-lhe um tom saudável as bochechas devido a leve exposição ao sol, enquanto o corpo curvilíneo era sempre envolto por roupas que ela mesmo fizera, com tecidos leves e esvoaçantes mas que também fossem práticos para que permitissem a condução de qualquer atividade.

Apesar de parecer bem resolvida, Arabella ainda ansiava descobrir o motivo do ataque que levara a vida de Liliabel, quem foram os homens que a mataram e o porque de terem poupado a vida da criança. Mesmo com seu pequeno corpo adquiriu a habilidade de lutar quando necessário, carregando sempre consigo uma adaga de prata que era usada com tamanha destreza que chegava a impressionar até os guerreiros mais treinados, e também era ótima em escalada. Foi proibida de usar sua magia que reluzia na forma da dança mas ainda é capaz de pequenos feitos relacionados as outras artes.

Cativante e espirito livre: O traço mais notável de sua personalidade certamente é o seu espirito livre, o fervor pela vida, não suporta ser dirigida ou liderada e tem uma certa dificuldade em lidar com autoridade, por não ser o tipo de mulher que aceita ser levada pela coleira. Apesar disso a morena faz amigos facilmente, graças ao seu jeito cativante e espontâneo que é capaz de quebrar as barreiras até do mais ranzinza dos homens. Suas conversas geralmente detinham um tom mais informal e leve, e embora gostasse de flertar raramente se envolvia verdadeiramente com alguém. Sua independência e coragem também são pontos fortes, mas apesar de aparentar ser inabalável é muito mais frágil do que se pensa.

Teimosa e arisca: a aparência doce e angelical só servia para esconder a língua afiada da morena, com o seu temperamento forte e a demasiada franqueza nas palavras Arabella dificilmente conseguia se manter longe dos problemas por muito tempo, e não se calava quando presenciava algo que julgava ser errado. Dificilmente baixava a guarda, e não demonstrava sua vulnerabilidade para outras pessoas, evitando toda e qualquer intimidade pois temia ser novamente abandonada no momento em que se despisse de sua armadura. Se irrita facilmente com provocações, mesmo sendo bastante provocativa, e tende a devolver na mesma moeda.

If you have a problem with the and M Night Shyamalan last Airbender movie or the ghost in the Shell movie with Scarlett Johansson then you should also have a problem with this.

Not to mention Disney makes a big deal about respecting the culture they put in their movies like Moana or Encanto or Turning Red but when that culture isn’t “POC” they have no problem making race changes to it and I find that just a little bit hypocritical.

And this is already on top of being yet another Solis remake from the creatively bankrupt Disney.

I watched the trailer and thought it looked really good before I noticed the like to dislike ratio. Well, this is depressing.
