#RhinoFriday Facts #SaveTheRhinos #SaveTheEnvironment The illegal trade of wildlife parts is one of the most troubling illegal economies, causing untold ecological damage and pushing many species to the point of extinction. The findings of the Wildlife Justice Commission’s (WJC) report published late last year show a dire situation for rhinoceroses, one of the world’s last forms of megafauna. The WJC found that over 7.5 tonnes of illegal rhino horn had been seized by police and customs authorities around the world over the past decade. Three countries have emerged as major players in the global illegal trade. South Africa, where the majority of the world’s rhino population lives and is poached, Malaysia, where the illicit goods transit through and Vietnam, where wildlife traffickers and dealers then sell the parts on to buyers from other parts of Asia, such as China. . Support organisations fighting poaching & trying to save wildlife so we can put a stop to this heinous practice. Over here we support @savingthesurvivors & partners. By recycling these valuable materials from cell phones, we can reduce the environmental impact of mining and conserve natural resources. Additionally, recycling cell phones can help prevent electronic waste from ending up in landfills, where it can release toxic substances into the environment. Proper e-waste recycling is crucial for reducing the environmental impact of discarded electronic devices and ensuring a sustainable future for all.

On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, Shri Uday Mahurkar (Central Information Commissioner, GOI) , organised an event with Samadhananchal’s project Triveni, for the betterment of our environment , followed by a robust celebration of Lohri . “Triveni “ , is the planting of three trees , Neem , Peepal and Badh (Banyan) as a trio that produce a large amount of oxygen that purifies the environment. Peepal and Banyan release oxygen at night . Contrary to what we have heard about Peepal and Bargad as haunted trees, Hindu mythology says that Banyan is the abode of Brahma, Neem of Vishnu and Peepal of Mahesh, Lord Shiva. Was privileged to be honoured with a Saropa and Prasad (delicious meethi mathri and churma laddoo) by the Mahant of the Dwarkadheesh Mandir of Kankroli ,near Udaipur , who was one of the special guests for the occasion. #savetheenvironment #planttrees #trivenitrees #neem #peepal #bohar #makarsankranti2023 #lohricelebration #kankrolimandir https://www.instagram.com/p/CnbZeIGpWcM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
