I know it's not happening in a million years but I wish Overwatch and LoL would collab purely so we could see Symmetra perform with K/DA. I know she would slay those dance moves, and the outfits? It's been years since we had a truly cunty Symmetra skin

Wordplay: Etymology of Etymology
Origin:
"Etymology" originated in the late 14th century from the Old French word "etimologie" and Latin "etymologia," which came from Greek "etymología."
Root of étymon:
"Étymon" refers to the true or original meaning of a word. It derives from the Greek adjective "étymos," meaning "true, real, actual." The Proto-Indo-European root *u̯e-ti-, meaning "true," also gave rise to words like Sanskrit "satya" (truth), Latin "verus" (true), and Old English "soþ" (truth).
Root of logia:
"Logia" comes from the Greek "logos," meaning "word, speech, reason." "Logos" has its origins in the Proto-Indo-European root *leg-, meaning "to collect, gather," which evolved to mean "to speak" or "to count." Related terms include Latin "legere" (to read, gather), and Old English "lecgan" (to lay down).
Related words from etymon: Nil 😥
Related words from leg-: lecture; legend; legal; logical; catalog; anthology; dialogue; prologue; syllogism; lexicon; dialect.
I find it fascinating that etymology literally means “truth study” 🤩

Etymology of the Three Treasures
Tumblr media
Or: Why were these magic weapons kept in a Buddhist temple named after eras of Hindu cosmology? Well, at least they are in the English localization of Soulcalibur, and consequently, the rest of the series. Bear with me as I overthink some plot devices in a fighting game! First, I’ll give a refresher on which one is what. In clockwise order from the above image from Soul Calibur VI:
The sword: Krita-Yuga is actually the titular Soul Calibur, the antithesis of the evil sword Soul Edge.
The mirror: Dvapara-Yuga has the power to purify anything corrupted by evil energies.
The rod: Kali-Yuga can absorb any type of energy, be it good or evil.
Note the hyphenation.
These are named after three of the four eras (yugas) of the Yuga cycle. The broad strokes of each one in chronological order, and in order of diminishing spirituality, are as follows (at least in Vaishnavism, to be clear):
Krita Yuga, “the accomplished age”. A synonym for Satya Yuga, “the age of truth”. This is believed to be when mankind lived in perfect harmony with the Dharma, which is symbolized by a bull on four legs which stand for austerity, cleanliness, mercy, and truthfulness (source: Vedabase). The Golden Age, if you will.
Treta Yuga, “the age of three” is mentioned here for completeness’ sake. The aforementioned attributes (the symbolic legs) began to dwindle by one.
Dvapara Yuga, “the age of two”. This refers to the two remaining pillars of religion: mercy and truthfulness as people continued to stray further from the Dharma.
Kali Yuga, “the age of strife”. Named for the asura Kali, not to be confused with the goddess Kālī. This is believed to be when vice and sin are at their highest, and the Dharma is on its last leg. It is prophesied that Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu, will end the era with a fiery sword and usher in a new Satya Yuga, beginning the cycle anew.
As I’ve said, this is the theme the English localization went with. Before I get into the Japanese names, I want to point out that I can see the logic behind it. In story, Kilik wields the Kali-Yuga rod, which absorbed a considerable amount of powerful energy from Soul Edge itself, i.e. the Evil Seed. In that same moment, he himself is also possessed by the Evil Seed, which is only contained by the mirror Dvapara-Yuga. In a sense, the Dvapara-Yuga is the last thing between him and the Kali-Yuga, and by extension, his own destruction. The Krita-Yuga, Soul Calibur itself, is the very weapon built to destroy Soul Edge and bring an end to the chaos wrought by the evil sword. The fact that some of Soul Calibur IV’s endings show it ultimately intends to do this by freezing the world in crystal notwithstanding. On the other hand, I think there’s a reason one of the designers intended to convey “a merciless apathy” with regard to Elysium: eschatological figures with swords mean business. (I’m probably applying that retroactively.)
The other thing is that game canon has it that Soul Calibur tends to appear wherever someone is wreaking havoc with Soul Edge. Suffice it to say that it would pick up different names somewhere along the way. Soul Edge is at some points called “the Sword of Salvation” and the “Hero’s Sword”, but it’s clear that these are products of wishful thinking. That was the theory I was working from in the first place; I still think it holds.
The timeline in New Legends of Project Soul places the following at ~800 A.D.: “An elderly man known only as Edge Master gathers the three powerful artifacts once used by a Briton king. He stores them for safekeeping in Ling-Sheng Su Temple.” This is some 300 years after the same timeline mentions the same weapons went missing. I’d imagine that they had to have ended up in India at some point in the intervening years before Edge Master made it to China. While the same timeline all but outright says that Soul Calibur was Excalibur, where the other two figured in that is anyone’s guess.
So, what are the three treasures’ names in the original Japanese? I’ve belabored my other points long enough, so once again:
The sword: Gouhouken (護法剣), literally, “demon-dispelling sword” or possibly “sword in defense of Buddhist doctrine”.
The mirror: Mappoukyou (末法鏡), literally “mirror of the Latter Day of the Dharma”.
The rod: Meppoukon (滅法棍), literally “extremely [powerful] rod” or possibly “rod of the of the law of destruction”.
It didn’t take me long to understand where the localizer(s) were coming from because this as concise as I can get. That and the latter two are just daring me to mix them up when left as is. Maybe tying them to a theme made the names easier to remember. Only one of these is named after one of the Three Ages of Buddhism, and it’s the one that corresponds to the Kali Yuga! Specifically, Mappou, or Mòfǎ in Chinese, it is the third age which lasts for 10,000 years, during which the Dharma declines; at that age’s end, the Maitreya will restore the Dharma through his teachings. (Pure Land Buddhism holds this era to include the present day. Incidentally, in my research on the Yugas, I found quite a few sites with similar ideas about the Kali Yuga. Boy, does that feel familiar...)
A little tangent about the mirror’s design: note how the metal clasps resemble the ends of a vajra, a legendary weapon significant to both Buddhism and Hinduism. In Sanskrit, vajra means both “diamond” and “lightning bolt”, hence its symbolism of indestructibility and spiritual power. Naturally, it’s a major symbol of Vajrayana Buddhism, wherein the lightning stands for enlightenment. (This likely plays into the Himalayan setting of the Proving Grounds stage.) It’s not for nothing that Kilik’s victory animation in SC6 after a critical finish ends with him in a meditative pose, reciting this mantra: “Om vajra dharma Kilik.” I may as well note that his name comes from the Japanese pronunciation of the Sanskrit hrih, variously translated as “conscientiousness” or “self-respect”, one of the virtuous mental factors in Buddhism. The mantra in the Japanese is “On basara daruma Kiriku”. Here’s the latter in Soulcalibur V. Swap out his name for hrih and you have the heart mantra of the thousand-armed Avalokiteśvara. Or it could be related to the bodhisattva Vajradharma. Maybe both?
While in modern Japanese, meppou (滅法) is often used to mean something absurdly powerful, I ended up scrambling to make sure I wasn’t missing anything because I was somewhat literally reading that as “to destroy dharma”. (In my defense, “dharma” is one way of reading the second character.) I suspect the rod’s name may be an allusion to the concept of zesshoumeppou (是生滅法), the law of creation and destruction; in essence: impermanence.
I don’t have a lot to say about the name Gouhouken; the “demon-dispelling” meaning does suit Soul Calibur.
What’s more, the collective name Three Treasures (Sanbou, 三宝) comes from the practice of taking refuge in Buddhism. Generally, this is expressed by reciting a short formula; the metaphorical treasures are the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha (the monastic community as a whole). This may also be called the Triple Gem or something similar, depending on whom you ask.
And I thought I would just be picking up from where I left off in this short post, but if I’m honest, I just think it’s all really interesting.
Remember that the night the Evil Seed possesses Kilik is the darkest point of his life. He was the one chosen to wield Kali-Yuga, which coincides with some poor mad lad (who just wanted his dad back) picking up the wrong sword in Spain, unleashing a surge of evil magic on the world. The only thing that saved him from being a bloodthirsty monster was his sworn sister Xianglian putting the Dvapara-Yuga on him—at the cost of her own life. Again, without the mirror, Kilik would have been unable to regain his self-control, and the Kali-Yuga would effectively become another Soul Edge. Then he wakes up at Edge Master’s grotto with major survivor’s guilt, and his training begins in earnest.
Kilik’s arc in the new timeline emphasizes his struggle to balance and master his cursed side, culminating in him using it to defeat Inferno (with Xianghua delivering the final blow with Soul Calibur). Although the Dvapara-Yuga shatters in the battle, the main story ends on a hopeful note. He may not be completely rid of Soul Edge’s curse, but he leaves the Astral Chaos with full control of himself and one sacred mirror shard to remember it by. Whether he will try to follow in Edge Master’s footsteps this time remains to be seen.

My heart is chained to yours; a Junkrat and Roadhog fanfiction
Chapter 4
Preview
“Yeah but uuuuuuggggghhhh gaaahhhh bleehhhh, such a fuckin pain to start.”
We enter the customer service area, which is also the main entrance but that doesn’t matter, and the lady who owns the Hyundai Sonata sits in the row of chairs set up along the entry doorway. Both Holland and I slouch against the front desk to spit her the news. With his arms crossed, Holland looks solemnly at the lady.
"Excuse me, ma'am, do you have anyone to pick you up?”
Petrified, the woman's eyes widen as she touches her hair, stroking it like a cat.
“W-why? What seems to be the problem, sir?
“Your car ran out of blinker fluid. Ow-”
My cocky smile was wiped off by Holland cocking me in the back of my noggin.
“Don’t mind him, ma’am, your car has traces of water mixed with your oil.
Halting her strokes, she tightly grasps her hair.
"O-oh gosh, that's terrible, I recently took my car to get an oil change. I had a bad feeling when I had to pay around 16000-"
Unslouching, my face twists in absolute horror as I grab my head.
"16000 DOLLARS!? FOR AN OIL CHANGE!?"
The lady looks at me annoyed, shooting daggers with her eyes.
"Rupees…"
Sliding my hands off my head, they still linger in the air as I stare at her concerned.
“Like the jewels from Legend of Zelda? No fuckin way they charged you the currency of Hyrule!!!”
Gritting her teeth, she’s pissed off.
“...the currency of India.”
Standing my whole body straight, I look away deeply embarrassed.
"Sorry..."
Holland takes control of the conversation and hands a clipboard to the lady.
"Here, just write your name and phone number at the bottom. This is going to be pocket gouging since we could be replacing a lot of rusted parts, if not the whole engine. So if you need any help paying, I can stick in a couple of dollars. By the way, you never answered if you have a ride or not."
Taking a deep breath, she takes a minute to answer while she writes her information on the clipboard.
"I can call an Uber driver so I have a ride. I also have the money to cover the parts so that’s no sweat."
A sigh of relief escapes me as I leave to start working on the car. She might think I’m some rude jerk off but I still give a damn about her.
Unsure of where to start, I take out a wrench set and try to decide which one to take while Holland strolls in. Lifting my head, I turn to face him.
"So what's her name sir?"
"Satya Vaswani."

“ (2)
Raat ankhon mein dhali
Aansoo kabhi chhalke nahin
Khumari chadh ke utar gayi
Ishq kya hai
Dard apna likh na payi
Hey jag trata
Tumse bichud kar
Nashili raat mein
Ye faasle
Ajnabi – Raavan
Tu hai shikhar
Ye Hindustan hai
Gudiya tujh par ek pal
Tere bayaan Ghalib – Part 1
Tere bayaan Ghalib – Part 2
Mujhe tumse mohabbat
Raat khamosh hai
Sarakti jaye hai rukh se
Mere jaise ban jaoge jab ishq tumhe ho jayega
Mai pilakar aapka kya jayega
Kuch na kuch toh
Mere dil mein tu hi tu hai
Agar hum kahen aur vo muskura den
Ye kya jana mein jana hai
Wo kagaz ki kashti
Sar jhukaoge toh patthar devta ho jayega
Aap ko dekh kar dekhta reh gaya
Patta patta boota boota
Phoolon ki tarah
Mujhko yakeen hai
Raat ankhon mein dhali
Tera chehra kitna suhana – Video song
“ (non video)
Chulle aag na
Tera chehra hai aaine jaisa
Gum soom ye jahan hai
Tum hamare nahi toh kya gham hai
Khamoshi khud apni sada ho
Bebusi jurm hai hausla jurm hai
Rishta kya hai tera mera
Bahut pehle se un kadmon ki aahat
Jawan hai raat saqiya
Kainat chale
Wo nahin mila
Apni marzi se kahan apne safar ke hum hain
Uske hothon pe kuch kapta reh gaya
Aadmi aadmi ko kya dega
Mitti da bawa
Pyar ka pehla khat
Der lagi aane mein tumko
Ishq ki dastan hai pyare
Umar jalwon mein basar ho
Bas ek waqt ka khanjar
Mare kareeb na aao
Koi dost hai na rakeeb hai
Teri berukhi
Kaun ayega yahan
Tu ambar ki ankh ka tara
Jao ab subah hone wali hai
Mohabbaton mein
Manzil na de chirag na de
Yeh mojiza bhi mohabbat kabhi
Parakhna mat parakhne mein
Ek brahman ne kaha hai
Jis din se chala hoon
Main na Hindu na Musalman
Mai rahe meena rahe
Uski baaten toh phool hon jaise
Koi samjhega kya raaz e gulshan
Chand ke saath kai dard purane nikle
Tere qadmon pe sar hoga
Ye peenewale bahut ajeeb hote hain
Baat niklegi toh phir door talak
Zindagi kya hai
Aap agar in dinon yahan hote
Saun da maheena yaron
Na keh saki bahar
Din aa gaye shabab ke
Tamanna phir machal jaye
Rone se aur ishq mein bebaak ho gaye
Jawani ke heele haya ke bahaane
Kal chaudhvin ki raat thi
Aap se gila aap ki qasam
Dosti jab kisi se kee jaye
Shaam se aankh me name si hai
Main aur meri tanhai
Muskurakar mila karo humse
Fasila to hai
Hum mein hi thi na koi baat
Dekha jo aaina
Zindagi kya hai jaanne ke liye
Aap aye janab
Sare pindich pyare

Episode 13: Yugas: The Cycles of Time In this episode of Vedic Lore and Legends, we explore the concept of Yugas, the cyclical ages in Hindu mythology that define the progression of human civilization and spiritual evolution. These four ages—Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga—each have distinct characteristics and durations, representing the rise and fall of dharma (righteousness) and virtue. The Yugas cycle through periods of purity, doubt, and darkness, offering insights into the impermanence of worldly life and the potential for spiritual growth. Despite the challenges of Kali Yuga, the belief in the cyclical renewal of time provides hope for spiritual evolution.

The Life of Sant Dadu Dayal of Rajasthan
Hymn of the Dadu Panth "Daduram Daduram Satyram Satyram": https://youtu.be/moyegyBcM_o?t=909
Dadu Dayal (1544–1603) was a Sant from Gujarat, India. "Dadu" means brother, and "Dayal" means "the compassionate one". Dadu Dayal ji Maharaj was found by an affluent business man floating on the river Sabarmati. He later moved to Amber (city), near Jaipur Rajasthan, where he preached his teachings.
He gathered around himself a group of followers, which became known as the Dadu-panth.
This organization has continued in Rajasthan to the present-day, and has been a major source of early manuscripts containing songs by the North Indian saints.
Dadu alludes to the bliss of Sahaja in his songs. Much of the imagery used in his songs is similar to that used by Kabir, and similar also to that used by the earlier Sahajiya Buddhists and Nath yogis.
Dadu's compositions were recorded by his disciple Rajjab and are known as the Dadu Anubhav Vaani, a compilation of 5,000 verses. Another disciple, Janagopal, wrote the earliest biography of Dadu.
Dadu ji had 100 disciples that followed his teachings and attained salvation. He instructed an additional 52 disciples to set up ashrams, 'Thambas' around the region to spread the Lord's word. Dadu ji spent the latter years of his life in Narayana, a small distance away from the town of Dudu, near Jaipur city.
Five thambas are considered sacred by the followers, namely, Narayana, Bhairanaji, Sambhar, Amer, and Karadala (Kalyanpura). Followers of these thambas then spread and set up other places of worship.
Shri Dadu Dham Bhairana, which lies in the secluded hilly tract of Bichoon district in the Jaipur division of Rajasthan, has become a sacred place of pilgrimage for lakhs of devotees of Saint Dadu Dayal Ji Maharaj from Haryana. The devotees come from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra and other parts of the country. They hold the place in reverence. The remaining part of the story relating to the eternal importance of Bhairana in the life of Daduji Maharaj can now be told.
The ancient Bhairana hill, which is situated amidst exquisite natural surroundings, has been the hermitage of many saints and seers since times immemorial. It is said that at the pressing solicitations of Uddhava Bhagat, a prominent resident of Bhairana, on one occasion Daduji Maharaj himself made a brief visit to Bhairana during which time he intuitively and instantly realised the spirit of the adorable sanctity of this ancient abode of saints. Later at the time of his departure from the world in 1603, Daduji instructed his disciple-saints at Naraina thus: “After my demise, take my body to the Bhairana hill and then leave it there at the spot in its deep gorge. Hence forward, it shall be known as our sanctum-sanctorum and it shall continue to be a place of worship for saints and sadhus for all times to come in the future as well.”
Accordingly, when Dadu Ji Maharaj breathed his last on in 1603, his body was taken in a palanquin from Naraina to Bhairana and placed there in its gorge by thousands of his disciple-saints. When they were engaged in a discussion regarding the last rites to be performed, a supernatural incident is said to have occurred all of a sudden. Tila Ji, a disciple-saint of Dadu Ji Maharaj, saw his guru standing at the gate of a cave near the hilltop. He brought it to the notice of others too. Instantly Daduji Maharaj spoke “Satya Ram” to all and then vanished into the cave. According to the legend and tradition, the palanquin also disappeared and only some flowers were left there. The devotees had to remain contented with performing the last rites with those flowers at that site where now stands a large memorial, which is sacred to the Dadu-panthis.

NAME. Meera AGE & BIRTH DATE. 5775 & December 28th, 3752 BCE GENDER & PRONOUNS. Female & She/Her SPECIES. High Elf COURT. Lunar OCCUPATION. Owner of FeyWyld FACE CLAIM. Priyanka Chopra
BIOGRAPHY
( tw: death, romance, adventure ) The fey were at the summit of their relationship with mortals at her birth. Through their education and direction, humanity had created constructs and developed ideas that were leaps and bounds ahead of where they had begun. The memory of Eden’s ashes was distant, but the stories persisted the songs, and the memories that the fey carried. Meera was the wild and precocious daughter of a typical family that had integrated away from court affairs. Instead, they made their home among humanity, there they flourished hand in hand with the children that they long outlived. Meera did not have friends her age, but generations of youth that she watched grow before her very eyes where she aged much more slowly into her maturity. Even past a century, there was something inherently mischievous about her, wild, free, and completely unkempt.
Her parents would smooth down her hair, press her clothes, and then sigh as she ran headfirst through a fresh rainfall. Through the budding, cultivated fields of Mehgarh she spun clay into pottery, planted seeds amidst enriching fields, and tended to herds when she was not causing mayhem elsewhere. While Titania and her court retreated into the Otherworld following the death of Nalwyn, Meera and her family chose to remain. They were invested into their community and respected among the mortals, they were common fey of weak magical blood, to humanity the family wasn’t much beyond just another neighbor—one with an especially precocious daughter who grew to be free loving, and ambitious.
The rise of metallurgy saw Meera’s father frequently at his forge, a gift and a talent that her son would someday inherit. About the rural countryside a town blossomed, businesses, artisans, craftsmen, and the beginnings of what would someday become a bustling market. Firsthand the winter fey watched it grow and develop firsthand as she took to the budding practices and offered a guiding hand to those who’d follow: rhetoric, dance, song, and satya the beginnings of what would come to be a very theatrical life.
Empires rose with encroaching antiquity, and Meera longed for a world of drama and intrigue, ingratiating into the life of a courtesan she took to the trade of secrets. An artist, a poet, an author, a seamstress, and so much more, Meera studied architecture and design, mysticism, and enchantment. Weak magic forced the fey to rely on her physical abilities and cunning wiles, her clairvoyant way of turning phrases, and her ability to blend into or stand out from a crowd on a whim. Meera was popular as a courtesan, very popular. Over the years she wove a complex network of favors and friends through the rise of the Kingdom of Magadha. The center of portraiture, or the painter herself, Meera has composed countless romantic works and appeared alongside emperors, ministers, and nobles. A trader sometimes, a simple entertainer in the next; Meera’s smile hid a thousand secrets, though her fey tongue spoke only truths.
Across every age there were traces of divinity that walked the realm, Meera often heard whispers of greatness though she avoided it with natural precaution. She’d been raised from her youth on the stories of Eden’s burning, and the great trials of the long road from Hyperborea that had been passed down through Meera’s ancestry. A goddess of women and warriors, Artemis was learned of in the region. She and her accompaniment of Valkyric women had grown over the millennia within supernatural circles with a legacy that had taken off in thanks to the Greek authors of the Mediterranean. Legends of the Goddess persisted elsewhere, and hunters affiliated with The Eye had long worked to lay a trap for the divine.
Naturally, Meera came across this secret; as a concubine men’s lips were often loosened after an exchange of affairs between silken sheets. There he boasted of a coming plan and from there Meera gathered all she could until the fey had enough to approach the Goddess directly. The Eye’s plans were foiled and the bloodbath left the hunters in complete ruin within the region, a decimation they would not recover from for several centuries. Meera was pleased, she’d hoped to find a way to eliminate the threat to her kind within the region so The Eye’s ambitions ultimately provided her with the opportunity to commit to their undoing.
Artemis was impressed. Meera was not a fighter at that age, she had learned to wield a blade because her father was a craftsman of these works, but for many years she believed her talents to lay elsewhere. Artemis disagreed and instead offered to bring the winter fey under her winged protection, to stand among the Valkyries and take the life she’d become so proud of on the open road—a world of adventure and promise, intrigue and excitement. Naturally, Meera agreed.
Under the guidance of Artemis’ possession, Meera’s body adapted to a body’s weaves and a warrior’s reactions. She trained under the Goddess’s hand, worked alongside the Valkyries she considered her sisters and blossomed her physical abilities to aid her natural methods of tactical subterfuge best. Meera named the pegasus she earned Athanidas, a creature that, besides her parents, the fey often called her first love. She’d taken many people into her bed and continued to do so: boasting often of her exploits as she took to laughing about them alongside her sisters. Meera made a point of bringing them up to Artemis, if only because the Goddess seemed far more particular about her bed companions than Meera ever was.
Monster slaying came with a strategy different from what Meera had used previously, she needed to learn to adapt on a whim while using her natural abilities as a dancer and acrobat to her advantage. There was a ruthless brutality to it that endeared her, a way of combat that the woman was inherently incensed by. Still, Meera always preferred the subtle approach, there was something that she had always found thrilling about walking through a viper’s nest by convincing the serpents that she was one of their own. Brutal battle was easy, it took talent, tact, and ingenuity to milk the venomous creatures for the secrets of their networks so that she could report it all back to Artemis and the Valkyries. Systems of trade, black market dealings, and routines of brutality; were all noble causes in the pursuit of protecting those who could not protect themselves.
Along the Silk Road Meera landed in the court of Genghis Khan, a courtesan and entertainer, she was popular and well-liked. A guiding hand for the Emperor and the Khans that succeeded him and an informant for the Valkyric forces of Diana. Invested in the network she established, she rode into battle on the heels of conquest, her winged companion faithfully beneath her; armoured and outfitted by centuries of success. Here, Meera began to long for something she so desperately wanted: a family for herself. It was in the death of her father that a shift was definitively made within her.
Burial in the sky brought Meera back home, along the road she traveled to stand at her mother’s side while her father was cleansed above. Washed and cleaned, his soul was for the aether and Meera’s bright, vibrant life quietly began to look empty. She stood on the outside looking in at herself, remembered the many faces of the children she’d watched grow and fade, and her heart began to long for that connection she did not have. In Meera’s heart, she hoped for a child of her own, but still, she continued her life alongside the Valkyries, though those who knew her well, knew there was a part of her that was no longer invested.
Nirvaan’s other parent could have been several people, truthfully Meera took so many people to her beds, under so many different circumstances that it was a coin toss. Diana was among the Valkyries at Meera’s bedside when Nirvaan came wailing into the world with the brush of eladrin cold indicative of a winter fey. She knew from the moment she saw him that her life of peril was about to be traded for an entirely different adventure. Motherhood suited her and like the lives she’d lived before, she took to it naturally. Meera had seen firsthand how dangerous the mortal realm could be, so she opted to raise Nirvaan within Titania’s court under the winter chancellorship.
Home within the Otherworld took some accommodating, customs she’d never observed growing up muddled with new tails and new rules that she thought were quite foolish. A mother shouldn’t have to choose between her people and her child, despite her place within the fey society Meera remained outspoken about this. The fears of the shifting bloodlines between fey and faimen didn’t bother or concern her, as far as Meera saw it love was love and nothing else should matter. If the Court was such a sanctuary to their people, it should have been a sanctuary.
Nirvaan grew up under Meera’s watchful eye, he trained to be a warrior under winter mentors and Meera watched from a distance. She knew the dangers and what it took; life on the battlefield was filled with hardships. Meera had lost friends, lovers, sisters, and her father to a world that only knew how to tear things apart. While she supported her son’s every endeavor, she hoped that he would simply choose to live a quiet and simple life. One that was free of any dangers or perils, Nirvaan instead became a warder and tied his life to that of Chancellor Aurora. Instead of safety, he embarked on a harrowing journey through the Otherworld, one that nearly killed him, and he was forced to fight at the end of the world while she was powerless to help him. Words could not describe the fear she felt that someday her son would not come home to her, that he’d end up like one of the monuments that the fey was so fond of planting. They were elves now, but their history was written in tragedy and his story would not end this way.
As her son divided his time between the mortal and elven realms, Meera made sure to insert herself everywhere Nirvaan might end up. She entertained the wolves of Lupercalia, took ownership of Feywyld, and made a home for the two of them in the Lunar Mountains.
