Top 10 Useful Tips to Prevent Tooth Decay
Going to the dentist isn't anyone's idea of a fun way to spend the day. Even if you don't mind having to sit uncomfortably on a chair while someone pokes around your mouth, the pain of having teeth cleaned or cavities filled can be unbearable to some.
However, visiting the dentist regularly is important, and you need not worry about pain if you take steps to prevent tooth decay. These are 10 useful tips you can add to your daily routine.
1.    Brush your teeth at least twice a day. We begin the day by brushing our teeth, but not all of us end the day by brushing our teeth. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day is the bare minimum of what you should do. This is a tip given by all dentists, including those at Neem Dental.
2.    Ideally, you should be brushing your teeth after every meal, and not just twice a day. If you want to prevent tooth decay, you will make the extra effort to brush your teeth after every meal.
3.    Merely running your brush against your teeth once won't do either. A hasty job won't prevent tooth decay even if you brush after every meal. You need to carefully brush all your teeth, especially your wisdom teeth.
4.    Use toothpaste. The fluoride in toothpaste protects your teeth, which is why you need to brush your teeth using toothpaste. What brand of toothpaste should you use? Your South Harrow dentist may recommend a certain brand of toothpaste depending on the condition of your teeth.
5.    Floss or inter dental cleaners let you clean between your teeth, something you can't accomplish through brushing alone. By cleaning between your teeth, you can prevent tooth decay. Talk to your Sri Lanka dentist about the best products and brands to use.
6.    One of the main tips Neem Dental gives to prevent tooth decay is to pay attention to your teeth and gums. If you notice any cavities forming or discoloring, visit your dentist and have it checked out.
7.    Ignoring a problem can worsen the situation and require a bigger procedure than what your Tamil dentist would have recommended had to you visited them as soon as you noticed an issue.
8.    Avoid snacks after nighttime brushing. A snack or sweet treat right before bed is something, we are guilty of enjoying. However, if you want to prevent tooth decay, you will want to avoid having snacks, sweets, and fizzy or sugary drinks after your bedtime brushing. If you wake up at some odd hour and crave a cookie or chocolate, remember to brush your teeth before going back to bed.
9.    Be mindful of what you eat. If you talk to your Sri Lanka dentist at Neem Dental, you will know that one of the best ways to prevent tooth decay is to be mindful of what you eat. Snacks and sweets can cause tooth decay, so you may want to limit the quantity you consume daily. When dining out, avoid sugary treats, drinks and desserts because you won't be able to brush your teeth right after. Another type of food to avoid is sticky food. Caramel fudge is something none of us can resist. We all love jelly beans and gummy treats. However, these treats can stick to your teeth and cause tooth decay.
10. Visit your dentist regularly. With our busy schedules, we often forget to make regular appointments with our dentists. It is recommended that you have your teeth checked and examined at least twice a year. This way, decay can be located and prevented from worsening. By visiting your South Harrow dentist regularly, you can also inquire about the best products and practices to prevent tooth decay.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES AT NEEM DENTAL CLINIC
Tumblr media
𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 - In these very challenging times for all of us, our dentistry must do everything to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect our patients, staff, and visitors. Therefore, we have set strict sanitary rules on our Clinic that we would like to ask you to kindly follow during your visit
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 - Upon arrival, our trained staff welcomes you at the entrance: they brief you verbally on our protocols, ask you questions about your health condition, and check your temperature. Patients who are having high temperature and/or other COVID symptoms (e.g. coughing) will not be permitted to enter our facility; no exceptions.
𝗔𝘁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.
We provide masks for free if needed. We kindly ask you to 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆, placed all around the Clinic. Dental treatments are prepared in close contact between the patient and the dentist, so we have made special measures in our daily operation too, to minimize the possibility of any infection. We want you to feel safe at our Clinic from the first time of entering the building, until the end of your treatment, therefore now we present to you how we contribute to your and our staff’s safety.
𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 - We know that now cleaning and disinfecting is the most important thing that we can do to make you feel safe at our Clinic. Therefore we created a special protocol on top of our high-level cleaning and disinfecting regulations. The waiting rooms are ventilated continuously and disinfected every hour.
Treatment rooms are cleaned and disinfected totally after every patient visit: the dental treatment unit with all equipment, all surfaces in the room, the touch screens, and even the door handle. We use pre-packed, sterilized tools for the treatments that are opened right before use.
Sanitizing station and plastic separator are installed to our reception desk, and we disinfect regularly pens and surfaces to make the check-in safe too.
𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝗮𝗿 - Because of the close and sustained proximity to the patient (particularly among dentists and their staff), our staff is wearing special protective equipment. Face shields are worn in tandem with approved respirators and goggles by the dentists, with isolation gown, surgical-grade nitrile gloves, and hairnet.
𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 - We do our best to help you to keep a safe distance from others during your stay. We maximized the number of patients in the waiting room in 2 people. Like this, you can easily keep 2 meters while waiting for your treatment.
𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 - We placed informative signals and posters all around the Clinic to make you easier to follow the current hygiene rules. We hope these will help to provide guidance and answers to your questions when our staff may not available to address concerns.

STATEMENT FROM THE BAPD
Tumblr media
Dentistry has always been safe, remains safe AND we have a clear understanding of the measures we need to have in place to safely see our patients for all dental treatments, including very essential dental checkups and hygienist visits, during this pandemic. Millions of patients around the world have safely visited their dentists in the past few months for the full range of dental services and with the correct PPE and infection prevention measures in place, dental care should continue to be provided. As the prime minister has said, “the overrunning of the NHS would be a medical and a moral disaster” - let us not add dental emergencies to the burden of the NHS. We also have it on good authority that Jo Churchill has confirmed dentistry is essential, however in the interest of clarity we have written to the minister asking for concrete assurances.

Healthy Smile: The Best Gift You Can Give Yourself and Your Loved One This Valentine’s Day
Tumblr media
Valentine’s Day and the month of February is all about showing your loved ones that you care about them. This could have been on the 14th of the month, over a romantic dinner or a family outing, or it could be through a vacation over the weekend or dining out when the Valentine’s Day hype has died down a bit.
While jewellery, chocolates, and flowers are the usual gifts that come to mind in relation to Valentine’s Day, the best gift you can give yourself and your loved ones this month is a healthy smile. Gifts are usually seen as tangible objects that can be wrapped in colourful paper. You can do this with jewellery, clothes, and books, but how exactly do you gift someone a healthy smile?
The answer is simple: By dedicating yourself to making healthy lifestyle changes. By changing your daily routine and eliminating bad habits, you can improve your oral hygiene and even your overall health. This is a gift not only to yourself, but to your loved ones too.
Daily Routine
Maintaining an oral health routine doesn’t require much additional effort. By making a few changes to your daily routine, you can take better care of your teeth. A few things you can do is to brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes. Use a fluoride toothpaste and be sure to brush your teeth right before going to bed.
Neem Dental Clinic also recommends cleaning between the teeth, which is why flossing is a practice to add to your daily routine. You can visit a South Harrow dentist to know what your oral health routine should include depending on your lifestyle.
Reduce Your Sugar Intake
Throughout the month, you will be tempted by discounted chocolates as well as other sweets. From cupcakes decorated in red, cookies in the shape of hearts, and chocolates with delicious fillings, candy, sweets, and desserts are an important part of Valentine’s Day and other celebrations.
However, sugar causes tooth decay, which means that you are likely to spend your nights or weekends nursing a toothache or visiting a root canal specialist at Neem Dental Clinic as opposed to taking your family out for a movie. Tooth decay may also require extractions, which will definitely mean you won’t have a healthy smile.
What you can do is to have sweets only during mealtimes. This way, you can have a sugary treat after your meal and brush your teeth soon after. If you snack on sweets throughout the day, you are not going to brush your teeth after having sweets and your teeth will be vulnerable to sugar throughout the day.
Stay Hydrated
Water is better for your oral health as well as overall health. Drinking water right after a meal removes acids from the mouth, thus reducing decay.
Most carbonated drinks have a high sugar content. Alcohol also has a lot of sugar in it and, while you may have enjoyed a glass of champagne during your Valentine’s Day dinner, moderation should be practiced when it comes to alcohol consumption.
Regular Check Ups
While these practices will improve your dental health, you will want to visit a South Harrow dentist regularly. Whether you need a root canal specialist to take care of a cavity or a South Harrow dentist to perform a simple tooth whitening procedure, regular visits to a dental clinic like Neem Dental Clinic is one of the best gifts you can give yourself as well as your loved ones.

Maryland Bridge
We've created another "the success of smiles" with a Maryland Bridge
The Maryland Bridge is an increasingly popular kind of bridge as very little preparation of the adjacent teeth is required. Maryland bridges are made up of a special ceramic material, which is cemented on to the enamel of the adjacent teeth. One of the benefits of the Maryland bridge is the minimal preparation and that there's no need to expose the inner part of the tooth known as the dentin. This helps to minimize the risk of you experiencing sensitivity in your teeth following the procedure. Also, as the nearby teeth won't need to be altered greatly, the process is normally completely reversible. It is often performed without the need for local anaesthetic.
