Free Dining Plan Eligibility and Details The free dining offer for Disney+ subscribers has the following eligibility requirements and details: - The offer is valid for new bookings made between January 2, 2024 through February 28, 2024 - Guests must book a non-discounted 4-night/3-day Walt Disney World Resort hotel and ticket package - At least one guest in the room must have an active Disney+ subscription prior to arrival and through the length of the stay - Valid for arrivals most nights June 4 through September 30, 2024 The number of guests in the room does not impact eligibility. As long as one guest has an active Disney+ subscription, the whole travel party will receive the free dining plan. There are blackout dates from July 1 through July 10, 2024 that the offer does NOT apply to. The free dining plan guests receive depends on the tier of the Walt Disney World resort hotel they book: - Disney Deluxe & Deluxe Villa Resorts: Receive the standard Disney Dining Plan - Disney Moderate Resorts: Receive the standard Disney Dining Plan - Disney Value Resorts: Receive the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan More details on what each of these dining plans includes is provided in the next section. Guest-favorite Quick-Service locations include Satu'li Canteen (Animal Kingdom), Woody's Lunchbox (Hollywood Studios), Electric Umbrella (Epcot), and many more. The standard Disney Dining Plan is included FREE for Disney+ subscribers staying at Deluxe resorts and Moderate resorts. Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan - 2 Quick-Service Meals per night of stay - 2 Snacks per night of stay - Refillable Drink Mug eligible for refills at self-service beverage islands at quick service locations - Estimated $52 per night value The Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan contains the same allowances for Quick-Service meals, snacks, and refillable mugs as the standard plan, but does NOT include any Table-Service meal entitlements. The Quick-Service Disney Dining Plan is included FREE for Disney+ subscribers staying at Value resorts. Disney+ Pricing and Plans To take advantage of the free dining offer, at least one guest in the travel party must have an active Disney+ account. Here is a breakdown of the Disney+ subscription plans and pricing: Disney+ Basic (With Ads) - $7.99 per month - Watch Disney+ content with 4-5 minutes of ads per hour Disney+ Premium (No Ads) - $10.99 per month - Watch all Disney+ content commercial-free Both plans allow downloading content for offline viewing and unlimited streams. The Disney+ Premium (ad-free) plan is recommended for the best viewing experience. As a reminder, to receive the free dining plan, the Disney+ subscription must be active prior to arrival and remain active throughout the resort stay for at least one guest in the room. More 2024 Deals There are even more offers available for those looking to book their Walt Disney World vacation. Guests can save up to 35% at select Disney Resort hotels when you stay 5 nights or longer, most nights March 25 through Oct. 3, 2024. Disney Resort Benefits Disney Resort hotel guests can receive great benefits, including complimentary transportation and early theme park entry every day. And with a Disney Resort hotel reservation, guests can make dining reservations for their entire length of stay (for up to a 10-night stay) up to 60 days in advance of their arrival! This helps simplify vacation planning, by making all your reservations on the same day, rather than checking availability day after day. At select Disney Resort hotels, you can also catch an outdoor Movie Under the Stars or take part in fun recreational activities. You may even get a surprise visit from a Disney character or two! Summary This is an incredible offer to save money on dining for Disney+ subscribers planning a Walt Disney World vacation this summer. By booking a non-discounted 4-night/3-day room and ticket package at a WDW resort hotel, Disney+ users can receive a free standard or quick service Disney Dining Plan during most dates June 4 through September 30, 2024. The dining plan guests receive will depend on whether they book a Value, Moderate or Deluxe resort. But in any case, this represents a major discount off the regular price of adding a dining plan to a Walt Disney World package. As Disney continues to find synergies across its streaming and parks businesses, offers like this free dining plan for Disney+ subscribers show the company incentivizing guests to engage with multiple Disney products and services. This is certainly a win-win for Disney fans looking to save money on their next Walt Disney World getaway! Read the full article

Hi! I've been to Disney World three times between 2019-2023.
My personal favorite rides are Na'vi River Journey, Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. I also love going to the Carousel of Progress and The Enchanted Tiki Room. Favorite snacks are Pongo Lumpia at Pongu Pongu in Pandora (Animal Kingdom), Cheeseburger Pods at Satu'li Canteen in Pandora (Animal Kingdom), and the Cheshire Cat Tail at Cheshire Cafe (Magic Kingdom).
The biggest tip I can offer is to make a list of your absolute must-dos and prioritize them, but go with the flow. Don't be so stuck on a schedule that you miss out on the magical moments at the park! Take time to enjoy the scenery, the people, the cast members, and the overall magic. Also, I fully recommend purchasing Memory Maker and getting as many photos as you can!! I have so many wonderful photos from my trips. Disney World is such a magical place, and I hope you have a wonderful time! You can absolutely hit me up with any questions you have. I love sharing my knowledge with people planning trips! :D
I'm going to Disney World for the first time!
Have you been? What's your favorite ride/snack/tips???

Let's look inside Pandora's Satu'li Canteen at the trash and dish station. Per Disney, this "was once the main mess hall of the Resources Development Administration (RDA) base located in the Valley of Mo'ara. Now the canteen is owned and operated by Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE) tour company and has been redesigned into a beautiful museum-like dining room." // Walt Disney World, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Pandora - The World of Avatar, Satu'li Canteen, 2017 [Source: Showcase of Wishes. katie! what’s the best gift you’ve ever received? what’s the best gift you’ve ever given? what disney world experience were you the happiest to get to experience again?
Kelly! I'm so sorry it's taken me FOREVER to respond...My brain has been all over the place lately (which is no excuse), but I am very excited to sit down and answer these awesome questions now!
what’s the best gift you’ve ever received? It was probably the trip to Yankee Stadium my oldest friend took me on for my 25th birthday, but I also have a soft spot for the very detailed Disney scrapbook my sister made me for my 30th birthday and the Carousel of Progress necklace @kekela717 got me for Christmas 2016 because I got her the same one that Christmas so it makes me smile every time I wear it.
what’s the best gift you’ve ever given? Ooooh this is HARD. I think my favorite one to plan and work on was the photo book I made @kekela717 with memories from all of our trips. I also have given my sister some damn good obscure/niche WDW t-shirts she really loves and wears on every trip, so that always feels like a big win to me.
what disney world experience were you the happiest to get to experience again? It was all the little things! Falling asleep on the buses and having my eyes assaulted when they turn the lights back on. Being in Adventureland as Magic Kingdom gets ready to close because we always end up there. Eating cheeseburger pods at Satu'li Canteen. And the ambient music! Honestly, two of my favorite memories from this trip were walking into Hollywood Studios and walking around Disney Springs and just listening to the music and feeling completely transported in a way only Disney can do.

4 Songs I'm Listening to Right Now
The amazing @xjoonchildx put forth that she tagged everyone who read her post, so I guess since I read it, I've been tagged.
We just got back from a family trip to Walt Disney World, so I've been hearing Disney music on permanent repeat for the last week, and I'm completely okay with that. Tomorrow is back to reality.
1) The Carousel of Progress song. It's an earworm, for sure. And great for annoying teenaged members of your family.
2) You'll Be in My Heart from the Tarzan soundtrack (Teddy Geiger Disneymania version). I lost track of how many times we heard it queuing for Tower of Terror. (It was a really long line.)
3) The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room. Did I mention how much I love Dole Whip?
4) Raggatar from The Pandora: World of Avatar Soundtrack. This is one of the songs that they play in the Satu'li Canteen in the Pandora section of Animal Kingdom. I had the best salad there. The restaurant was both air conditioned and in the shade to boot. I liked the decorative and musical atmosphere and didn't want to leave.

Melyssa and the Mouse: Summer Adventures Part 1
Walt Disney World tends to shake things up for the summer season, despite the fact that many people will be flocking to the tourist destination without the pull of extra or new offerings. This year, there is something new in 3 out of the 4 parks: Pandora and Rivers of Light at Animal Kingdom, Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom, and Disney Movie Magic and The Music of PIXAR Live! at Hollywood Studios. I was able to experience all of these things recently (one more so than any other) and wanted to share some of my thoughts with you in a multi-part Melyssa and the Mouse series!
Let’s start with the first major experience that will draw numerous people over the course of the years- Pandora-The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom. Let me just say that I love this park in general, even before the addition of the new land and nighttime hours/experiences. The thing about this park that attracts me the most is the subtlety of the story and the subdued way the land is shaped and themed to perfectly blend with nature without seeming like it’s intruding into the world. So adding the experience of Pandora has enhanced that appreciation of nature, even if, on Pandora, it’s in an alien form.
There are many ways to experience the beauty of this land. An early morning venture allows one to see the sun rising in the east and hitting the front of the floating mountains. This is a true movie moment, full of golden yellows and sparkling waterfalls- you can almost hear the theme music hit at the right spot -but since there is no music in this land, you have to imagine this music, as all you will hear is the sound of “nature” on Pandora- the screaming of the Banshees, the grunting of the Hammerhead Titanothere, the winnie of the Direhorse, or the screeching of the Viperwolves. Alternatively, a late evening venture onto the moon will afford you the opportunity to see the sunset on the backside of the floating mountains, a deep rich color in the evening, warm with reds and oranges. But the main experience everyone is itching to see is the night-when the world literally comes alive with glowing bioluminescent plants and glowing walkways. Even the drum circle enters a new form with performers and participants alike filling the air with the sounds of music, which, as noted before, is not typically heard throughout the rest of the land, while the very rocks themselves pulse with the beat.
While I could go on forever about my love of Pandora itself, I would love if you knew the backstory of this land before entering, because that makes things make more sense in terms of theming. If you’ve never watched the movie Avatar - that’s ok (besides it’s kinda long and the war part is boring)- you don’t need to have seen it to enjoy the land, which is a great job on the part of the imagineers. The land itself is “set” in a time decades after the events of the movie, so none of the characters from the original movie are specifically named in the attractions and there are only a couple references to these characters in the land (such as Neyteri’s bust in Windtraders, Dr. Augustine’s book in the line queue for Flight of Passage, and a Jake Sully mask at the Colors of Mo’ara face painting booth). It was also cool to see the animals and plants from the movie represented throughout the land and attractions. You can see the old RDA signs (the mining company from the movie that blew up the Na’vi’s home), particularly around Flight of Passage, Windtraders, and Satu’li Canteen, as this is the area where the RDA army base once was. Since decades have passed and, as seen at the end of the movie, Avatars, along with a couple of select humans, and the Na’vi are living together in peace and harmony, so the old intrusive ways humans came into this land are now being taken back by nature and re-shaped by The People of Pandora. Now, we travelers from Earth are welcome to come experience the beauty of this new land, with the help of the company Alpha Centauri Expeditions (ACE), whose name you will see on the newer looking fixtures (such as the handrails heading into the attractions). So, there is some old looking fixtures, rusted areas, and places where an army one inhabited; but at the same time, there are also new fixtures, restrooms, and eateries for the travelers coming to experience this world. Even the cast members will tell you, they do not work for Disney- they work for ACE, who has a partnership with Disney. There are no Mickey ice cream bars of Disney logos on even the shopping bags. The weave of the story is consistent and shows the thought that went into making sure that things make sense.
To bring that love of nature and experiencing the world around you into the rest of the park, one must head to Rivers of Light, a new unique take on the “nighttime experience”. In my opinion, the blend of the water effects and projections truly adds to the story of the blending of nature and a “theme park” that made Animal Kingdom what it is by showing you the blend of light and earth, which encapsulates the world around you. When you watch Rivers of Light, you are watching the play of nature, from the majestic beauty of a horse running or an eagle flying, as well as the literal circle of life with a hunt and protection of baby animals by their parents. And the overall message of “being one” is clear, and is made explicit with the use of the song that weaves it’s way throughout the show “We Are One”- in Animal Kingdom, it’s being one with nature; in Epcot, it’s being one with the world and other cultures. If we all take care of each other, harmony can happen.
The beauty of nature is usually reserved and requires you to listen and observe. This park, in many of the things it presents to the visitors, asks the same. Be quiet, observe, and embrace what is around you. This is how you enjoy the wonder that is Animal Kingdom. Until next time, when I tackle another nightly show- Irayo (Thanks in Na’vi).

Top 5 Favorite Things to Do at Animal Kingdom
Walt Disney World Resort’s Animal Kingdom will celebrate its 20th Anniversary this upcoming Sunday (April 22, 2018). So I figured what better way to celebrate this often passed over resort with my top 5 favorite things to do at the Animal Kingdom Park.
The Kilimanjaro Safaris: I mean what better thing to do in Animal Kingdom than get pretty up close and personal to some animals? What I really loved about the Kilimanjaro Safaris was just how many animals we really saw. I was kinda expecting it to be like the first ride through in Jurassic Park when none to the dinosaurs showed up, but nope we saw just about every single animal that is included on the ride including some of the more nocturnal ones like the lions. I really cannot wait to go back and do the new(ish) nighttime safari.
Maharajah Jungle Trek: This walk-thru attraction was pretty awesome for just so many animals you got so see roaming around. There are over 50 bird species, Sumatran tigers, Water Buffalo, Bar-headed Goose, and more. What I really loved was the Disney Cast Members that were readily available to tell you all about the animals, so much better than the standard information plaque you see at the zoo.
Watching the Monkeys: All throughout the Asia island there are monkeys swinging around above you, going from one of their enclosures to another. It was kinda zen to stop and watch them go about their day and do their thing. Again, there were always a few Cast Members available that were more than happy to tell you all about their monkey friends.
Street Performers/Live Shows: Just like how Magic Kingdom has the Dapper Dan’s, Animal Kingdom has its own variety of street performers. My favorites were the dancers in the African Harambe village section of the park. There is also the Festival of the Lion King, and while I’ve only seen it online the show looks amazing.
Snacks: I mean Disney food if pretty much awesome in all the parks, but for just wandering around grabbing something to snack on, Animal Kingdom does offer some different, maybe more unique offerings. Our favorite were the spiced almonds carts offered at the spiced nuts carts throughout Animal Kingdom. There are also some great offerings at places like Flame Tree BBQ, Yak & Yeti Local Foods Café, and while I haven’t eaten at the Satu'li Canteen, in Pandora – The World of Avatar, I’ve heard amazing reviews of the food.
So those are my top 5 favorites about Animal Kingdom but there is so much more to do at this park that I didn’t get to do on my first visit.
Let us know what some of your favorite memories or attractions are from Animal Kingdom in the comments.
XOXO,
Misti

Cheeseburger Steamed "Pod" @ Satu'li Canteen
Basically a bao bun stuffed with cheeseburger fixings. Great flavors but the meat to bun favored the bun. More meat and hotter would have been a home run.
