I won't say... I'm not a big fan of the boruto series.

Which doesn't mean that I don't like all characters. I like Sarada but not her outfit, especially in the manga, I know there is a big debate about it, BUUUT, I'm on the side of those who think they sexualize female characters, sorry. I also like sometimes exaggerated outfits, but fuck they are teenagers, give them something more comfy, especially since they fight.

Hello Boruto fandom, Never once watched Boruto, never even got past the Kazekage Rescue Arc, personally I think Ikemoto is a bit off his rocker because- how in the world did you manage to make this world even MORE sexist but y'know

so I'm having fun with what i would have liked to see in the next gen, as an original fan, and I am desperately trying to get rid of the ninja brainworms that have gripped me before workflow picks back up. (I'm actually going crazy on Milanotes)

I did some other rough brainstorming in the past and this is kinda building off that: Boruto Hinata

Thoughts:

It strikes me as really odd, for how catastrophic and world-ending the fourth war was, that there were seemingly no major repercussions or casualties. That's just not realistic to me. More than one main character should've died. It gives more emotional weight to someone like Kiba, who doesn't have any big role beyond the War, and thus gives his character a purpose that isn't just "Im gonna be Hokage #57"

The front lines weren't the only places being targeted, villages and safe houses were under siege, resulting in countless civilian, genin, and chunin deaths.

Mei stays Mizukage instead of that spineless, random guy.

I have some ideas for the injuries that the "crippling wounds" category sustains, but it's important to mention that "crippling" only means "not fit for active shinobi duty" since that's the bread and butter job of ninja society, so the severity of the injuries varies greatly.

I'm also aware that medical ninjutsu is like a magic eraser when it comes to stuff like that, but I rationalize that medics were more concerned about helping their patients survive rather than making sure their patients will be able to fully recover. Everyone in the injured category went too long without the proper surgery because they wanted civilians and lower ranks to have access first. Even then, the medical team was stretched extremely thin, so- consequences.

Retired: again, in context of "retired from shinobi duty". Majority still have active jobs. Alongside T&I, Ino still runs her flower shop; Tenten sets up a weapons shop right next to it; Shizune is the volunteer hospital head, meaning she doesn't get paid much, and tutors/helps/does paperwork (Sakura is a top medic who occasionally visits for emergencies- she's mostly busy with medical-related missions); Kurenai and The Boys™ teach at the academy; Karui's teammate, Omoi, moved with her to Konoha and he is now the best babysitter in town- though really he mostly looks after Chōchō and Shikadai when their parents are busy. He lives with Karui and her family, they're like siblings.

Konohamaru, Moegi, and Udon were all trained under Naruto during the blank period. However, Moegi was the only one able to reach her full potential because she managed to escape the War with no major wounds. She is now currently stronger than Canon Konohamaru Sensei was.

Yamanaka Ino & Yamanaka Sai

Uchiha Sasuke & Haruno Sakura

Shinki, Mitsuki, and Kagura were all part of a Transfer Student Project. All willingly went, All are now full citizens.

I really didn't see Metal or any of the other evicted teammates serving a purpose to the Narrative.. Maybe Metal still exists in the future, the others I do not care about I'm sorry.

I just fucking hate Inojin

Kawaki was adopted when Boruto was around one (1) and a half. Himawari wasn't conceived yet.

redesigned some boruto timeskip designs that I thought were wack

small design notes: I am very tired of Ikemoto's trend of making Sarada look like she should be at the club so I tried to keep the "vibe" of the original timeskip design to show that she doesn't need to look like she makes bank from satisfying old men. She's a strategist! a punchy punchy type girl! give this bitch some gloves and if you want to give her heels so bad you don't need to make them look so slutty!1

I hate Daemon I hate his stupid plot device sister I just wanted to make him actually look like he aged (like idk cyborgs stop aging when they reach around the physical age of 25 cuz that's when our brain cells stop developing) and look less like he says gyatt non ironically. this mf eats sand in the playground because he thinks its funny. Himawari's timeskip deisgn gives me very much y2k fashion ressurgence in the 20's. Like yes I love the crop top and the baggy pants. Do I think it matches Himawari at all? No. I gave her a bolt necklace (she probably made it herself or maybe she found it after Boruto ran away?) cuz she's grieving!! she just lost both her parents and her "older brother" isn't as warm as she remembered! she doesn't have time to look sexy she strikes me as a comfy type girl so that's what I did. Also I hate how her hair looks like in canon like why that shi looking like an axe head Sumire is a SCIENTIST! PUT THIS BITCH IN A LAB COAT!! GET THAT SCHOOL GIRL SHIT OUTTA HERE!! since part one she's been giving student in a porno about to offer her teacher head to be able to pass the semester and I am NOT reading the Naruto verse to see shit like this

Not me absolutely hating most of the Boruto part 2 designs. They look like a first draft...Sumire, ChoCho and Kawaki outfits are the absolute worst out of the bunch. (Especially Sumire's, she downgraded) Like damn...wtf happened??? Also, their designs are boring 😴

(I NEED to redesign Sumire and ChoCho's outfits, but for right now it's Sarada's turn!!)

My first mistake was getting my hopes up because that first teaser of her design. I genuinely loved her short hair and the Haruno choker with the Uchiha earrings! Then I saw her official design some days ago...it's classic Ikemoto sexualizing Sarada 🙄

Why is she wearing 10 inch heels??? As a ninja??? Did he have no one else to run these designs past??? This was approved???

So I had to do two iterations of Sarada's design because the rage was too consuming.

I wanted to use the teaser image as a jumping off point. So I gave Sarada a black jumpsuit with red accents. She retools Sakura's Shippuden skirt (because I love the idea of Sarada using her mom's old clothes) She gets to keep her jacket and leg warmers because I actually like them.

This one I wanted to have more Sasuke influences, like his high collar and reference to Sasuke's own black jumpsuit from the back half of the chunnin exams. Sarada reuses Sakura's Shippuden skirt for elbow and knee pads. She still has the Uchiha earrings and Haruno choker (but I forgot to draw them) I think she would wear colored eyeliner (maybe green to match her mom's eyes ����)

The last time I've felt so strongly about poor design was Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. Yes, I am really excited to see it, but those suit designs are so UGLY!!

I only got a little bit into Naruto because of a friend, so I don't have the biggest attachment to the series.

That being said, BOY DO I HATE THE CHARACTER DESIGNS IN BORUTO.

I honestly forgot that it even existed but then youtube had to ruin it and recommended me a video why the character design in Boruto is bad.

When I was 13 or 14 I actually made my own timeskip design for Sarada. So naturally I had to redo it, because I couldn't get the idea out of my head.

Previous anon here, what would you do with Sarada Heels? I always thought it could work as something she could wear around the leaf rather than for missions

I'd shorten them significantly in comparison to the manga. It can be painful and hard to walk in heels, and even more so trying to run in them. Even if she's just wandering in civilian clothes, it's important for ninja to be somewhat prepared in case something goes wrong and they need to move quickly. I don't think heels like that are very safe for that

Anyway, I find saradas timeskip design to be fine, I've seen some teenagers dress like this, so I'm not really that bothered by how sexy it is, however I do have problems by how it's supposed to be a ninja outfit. Like I get their trying to go for that sexy rebel look, but I'm just saying, if they didn't just focus on the sexy part from the sexy rebel fit, she could have looked better.

Anyway I tried to keep some of her aspects from the original design, and I guess "expand" on it. So heads this design could very well changed, as I still have no idea what I want to do with it, I literally went through a couple revisions before this.

I have so many gripes with boruto, character design being one of them.

Sarada Timeskip Redesign: My AU

My version of Boruto Timeskip is very different because I didn’t like the original story anyway I am a strong believer that everyone loves Boruto now because of his ‘cool’ redesign which essentially destroys his original character and gives him the edgy bad boy look which is NOT what he is.

Sarada fell into a feeling of helplessness when her father left for a second time and Boruto leaving and Kawaki’s betrayal. And having this breakdown does not make her weak she has had something like this before in Gaiden. This would spark her character development in which she’d have to prioritize her goals and what she would be focusing on for the next 3 years until Boruto came back which would bring another hurricane of problems.

Sarada tried explaining to to Chocho that Boruto was actually the Hokage’s son because she was her closest friend but instead Chocho looked at her with pity thinking she went crazy due to all these new changes and tried disproving her since she herself had gone through massive changes in her home life with her dad being put under more pressure and having to step up in his role as the Akinichi clan head with Naruto dying the clan’s began cracking in their trust of Konoha’s leadership and her dad had to deal with that. Karui herself had to reassign her perspective of Konoha and her loyalty to the Cloud village. Chocho thought she was helping but Sarada could only see that her closest friend couldn’t believe her. Her mother was silent she went into a state of Workaholic stress because of Sasuke leaving again. And Sarada couldn’t really trust anyone with her thoughts or feelings especially not Himawari who was dealing with three losses already.

But out of nowhere a hand reached for her that hand was Sumire. Sumire also was unaffected by Eida’s omnipotence it was a shock but she was quickly able to adapt to the situation because she wasn’t as emotionally affected as Sarada. They both became a team they realized quickly that there would be no point in trying to convince Konoha that Boruto was actually Naruto’s son without proof and that proof was hard to find Kawaki was quick to get rid of any traces of Boruto’s legitimacy. Sumire and Sarada worked on finding more about the Otsusuki clan and getting contact with Boruto. They weren’t able to get in contact with Boruto however they did dig around and find more about the Otsusuki.

Different teams in Konoha were working on different goals.

Sarada became more serious about her training perfecting and making more versions of her Chidori her outfit resembling more of Sasuke’s style because Sarada wanted a way to feel closer to her father who she had been on recently reconnecting with before having to let him go again. However Sarada does add her own personal touch to her style. Sometimes she wears glasses and sometimes she doesn’t.

She briefly awakes her Mangekyo during her depression phase but it isn’t fully awakened until a few weeks/months till Boruto’s return when she strengthens her resolve no one except Sumire knows.
