An Unexpectedly Welcome Surprise
Event: Day 2 of @hphm-ship-week
Prompt: Second wizarding war
Tumblr media
Sara O’Donnell-Lee stared down at the test in her hand, her mind racing. This wasn’t supposed to happen yet. They’d been so precise, trying to avoid this exact outcome. They’d wanted to wait until after the war, until their lives weren’t at risk every moment of every day. But, Sara supposed, five tests (four muggle and one magical) didn’t lie.
“Sara? Love?” Her husband’s voice rang out, muffled by the door and layers of house.
“One minute,” Sara called back as she made her way down to the front door.
“What’s my favorite creature?” she asked, once she’d reached the door. They had a rotating list of security questions as had been the usual since Voldemort’s return had become public knowledge.
“The matagot… or crup. You think crups make better pets than matagots.”
“Yep. And I stand by that, Barn. No matagots for pets.”
“Okay.” He paused. “What’s my muggle sweet?”
“Love hearts. They’re your favorite.”
“Yep.”
Sara unlocked the door, letting out a breath that she hadn’t realized she’d been holding as Barnaby came into view. He was always a sight for sore eyes. A tall broad form with chestnut brown hair and bright green eyes and a five o’clock shadow dancing around his jawline. He wore his usual leather jacket, the one she’d gifted him upon completion of the magiozoologist training program.
“Evening, love,” he murmured, pressing a kiss to the side of her head.
“Evening,” she echoed, looking down at the hand that still grasped the test from earlier as if just realizing that she hadn’t left it behind in their bathroom.
“How was your day?”
Barnaby looked up when she didn’t respond. “Sara?” he asked.
She sighed. “I have some big news,” she replied.
“What’s up?”
“Well, I’ve been feeling a little off the past few weeks and noticed that I’d missed it last month and that plus the vomiting plus the exhaustion led me go and get a few muggle tests because I don’t want to go to someone and risk this getting out much further than I want it to.”
“Sara…”
“Well, what I’m trying to tell you without actually saying it, ‘cause we both agreed that waiting until after the war was ideal and we haven’t even been married a year yet.”
“Sara…”
“I’m pregnant, Barnaby.”
He froze for half a second, barely enough time for panic to set into Sara’s gut, but it started anyways. But then, Barnaby let out a whoop and spun her around. The test that she’d still been holding crashed to the ground.
“Merlin’s beard. I shouldn’t have done that should I?” Barnaby asked.
“It’s fine, Barnaby. There’s a lot more danger out there right now. But you’re happy?” Sara asked.
“Of course, I am. I’ve always wanted kids with you. You’ll be an amazing mum, Sara, love. I know it. You’re so kind to everyone.”
“I know it’s not the ideal time.”
“Would it ever be?”
Sara froze at Barnaby’s words. He was right. There would probably never be the right time for kids. And they’d already been moving cautiously.
“I suppose you’re right. I just wasn’t expecting it,” she replied after a moment.
Barnaby smiled and pulled her close, cradling her face with his large hands before gently pressing his lips to hers. Sara sighed, moving her hands to thread through Barnaby’s hair. After they broke apart, Barnaby’s hand traveled gently to her stomach, a look of awe breaking out on his face.
“I love you, Barnaby Abernathy Lee,” Sara breathed.
“I love you, too, Sara Ailis O’Donnell,” Barnaby replied.

Eddie Munson who doesn’t have a filter and probably blurts out whatever he’s thinking and accidentally says something that hurts the readers feelings and he feels awful about it especially bc he doesn’t notice right away and is super sweet in his apologizing 🥺
I love this so much because it literally lines up with something I was just thinking about yesterday! Thank you for sending this ❤
Words: 2k
Tumblr media
"Really?" Mike asks, raising his eyebrows at Gareth. "You think Sara Hawk is going to go to prom with you?"
"Why not?" Gareth responds, puffing out his chest. The entirety of the Hellfire Club lunch table snickers and Gareth glares at each person in turn. "What's so funny? I don't see any of you having dates."
“Hey, my girlfriend lives in another state,” Dustin says.
“Mine too,” Mike adds.
“You two aren’t even old enough to go,” Eddie says, reaching over and knocking Dustin’s hat off his head.
“Then where’s your date, Dungeon Master?” Jeff asks.
Eddie shrugs and lifts a handful of pretzels to his mouth.
“Don’t want one,” he says through the mouthful. “Prom is dumb.”
“And you?” Gareth asks, turning to you. Your laughter at the possibility of one of the prettiest girls in school accepting his invitation to prom didn’t escape his notice.
You open your mouth to respond but Eddie speaks before you get the chance.
“Please,” he says with a snort. “Like she’s going to prom.”
The table goes silent as your face pinches up in a frown. Eddie is oblivious to your reaction, though.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” you ask.
“Oh, come on,” Eddie says with a chuckle. “I can’t imagine you getting a fancy dress or wearing high heels.”
Crossing your arms over your chest, you let out a scoff.
“I am a girl, you know.”
“Yeah, Eddie, she -.” Dustin gets cut off by Eddie’s laugh and booming response.
“Yeah, but not like that.”
Trying to come up with a retort is a failed effort as the bell rings, signifying the end of the lunch period. Dustin and Jeff give you sympathetic glances as everyone gathers their things to get to their next periods. Luckily, you wouldn’t see Eddie until the last period of the day, which would give you time to cool off.
But when Eddie strolls into Mrs. O’Donnell’s class casually, as if he didn’t offend you in multiple ways, you feel your rage still going strong. So what if you typically wore T-shirts and jeans with sneakers? So what if makeup wasn’t usually your thing or you hung out with guys most of the time? It didn’t mean you weren’t a girl and that you didn’t want to be treated as such. Eddie was oblivious to the fact that that had hurt you enough as it was, never mind the fact that it hurt doubly because you were in love with him. The guy you had been harboring the biggest crush on for years didn’t even see you as someone who would go to prom, let alone want to go with him as his date.
The eraser of a pencil jabs you from behind and you roll your eyes. You know he’s not going to give up, but you choose to ignore him anyway.
“Pssst.”
The temptation to put your hand behind your back and flip him off is strong, but you manage to restrain yourself and take a deep breath to keep your composure. But he wouldn’t be Eddie if he wasn’t a persistent, annoying man child at times.
His shoe knocks against the bottom of your seat and you spin around to face him, eyes blazing.
“What?” you ask through gritted teeth. How this man is even now unable to tell something is wrong is beyond you.
“Did you get the answer to number four?” he asks.
“No,” you tell him before turning back around. That wasn’t true, of course. You’d finished that number a while ago and were now on question number nine. Glancing back up to number four, you decide Eddie can figure out the date of The Boston Tea Party on his own.
Eddie finally figures out that something is up when you bolt out of the classroom once the bell rings, not waiting for him to walk out with you.
“Wait!” he calls as you exit to the hallway, but you keep going, pushing your way to the school’s exit. “What the hell,” he mumbles to himself as he does his best to follow.
Eddie is still stuck in the sea of students when you finally get to the parking lot. Eddie was supposed to drive you home, but you were damned if you were going to be stuck in the van with him. Your eyes scan the people walking to their cars and your eyes fall on a familiar redhead.
“Vickie!” you call as you jog up to her.
She turns around and smiles as she sees you approach.
“Hey! What’s up?”
“Do you think you could give me a ride home today?” you ask.
Vickie frowns and she looks behind you, presumably for Eddie.
“Yeah sure,” she says. “But what about-.”
“He’s pissing me off today,” you interrupt her.
“Boys,” Vickie says with a knowing sigh and a sympathetic nod.
“Tell me about it.”
“Well,” Vickie says. “If you want to avoid him, we should go. He just came out of the building.”
Without looking behind you, you follow her over to her car and climb inside. You peek over as you’re buckling your seatbelt and lock eyes with Eddie. He looks confused and you selfishly feel a little happy about that. Let him figure out what’s wrong.
Eddie stares as he watches Vickie’s car leave the parking lot, you in the passenger’s seat. He couldn’t remember the last time he wasn’t the one to drive you home.
“Hey, Eddie,” Dustin says, coming up behind him. No response, Eddie just stares ahead. “What’s going on?”
“Did I do something?” Eddie asks, rounding on the freshman.
“What do you mean?”
“I just…” Eddie trails off and turns back around to where Vickie’s car had exited the student lot. “Why is she ignoring me? I always drive her home.”
It clicks together in Dustin’s brain, and he lets out a sigh.
“Dude.”
Eddie turns back to Dustin, putting his hands on his hips. He raises his eyebrows in question.
“You basically said she’s not a girl,” Dustin says.
“What?” Eddie shakes his head. “I never said that.”
Dustin groans and rubs his hands over his face. “Yes, you did.”
“No,” Eddie reiterates. “I said she wasn’t like those girls who go to prom.”
“Seriously?” Dustin asks. “Do you hear yourself when you talk?”
“Listen, Henderson,” Eddie says, leaning in towards him. “You better get to the point and start making sense.”
“Okay,” Dustin says with a sigh. “How would you feel if,” he pauses, thinking of someone he could use as an example, “Nancy. How would you feel if Nancy wanted to go out on a date but said you weren’t that kind of guy?”
Eddie’s eyebrows scrunch together in confusion.
“I don’t want to date Nancy.”
“Jesus Christ,” Dustin whines. “Just say you did! Say, you have a crush on Nancy, yes? With me so far? Okay, so say she was looking for someone to go on a date with and you’re right there. But she says you’re not the kind of guy who dates.”
“That would suck,” Eddie says with a shrug. “I’d be offended.”
“So, that’s basically what you said at lunch today.”
“No,” Eddie says, but he sounds less sure now.
“Yes,” Dustin argues.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“It’s how it came out.”
“Well, shit,” Eddie says. He runs his hands over the top of his head and squeezes his eyes closed. “What do I do now?”
“Apologizing would be a good start,” Dustin says.
“Yeah,” Eddie agrees, nodding his head. “Yeah, okay.” He claps Dustin on the shoulder before digging his keys out of his pocket. He climbs in the van and pulls it out of the parking lot, tires squealing as he does so.
“Ugh, what the fuck do I do?” Eddie asks himself as he drives. “Flowers? No, she doesn’t like flowers. Shit, what do girls like?”
The brakes squeal as he pulls up to a red light and Eddie tightens his fingers against the steering wheel. He stares down at his hands and the idea hits him.
Tumblr media
At home, you’ve changed into your most comfortable pair of sweatpants and hoodie. You’ve prepared your favorite snack and are about to settle in on the couch and watch a chick flick – which the guys would totally make fun of you for. If they thought of you as a girl at all, you think bitterly. Settling a blanket on your lap and reaching for the remote, you’re interrupted by the doorbell. You groan at the piercing ring and pull yourself up off the couch.
Yanking the door open, Eddie stands on the other side, out of breath and clutching a shopping bag.
“Um, hi,” you say, though it sounds more like a question.
“Hi,” he says. “I’m sorry.”
“For what?” you ask, crossing your arms over your chest.
“You are a girl. You’re my favorite girl,” Eddie says. “I didn’t mean to hurt you before.”
You nod at him, not trusting your voice.
“I got you something,” he says, opening the bag.
“Eddie,” you sigh. “I don’t want you to buy my forgiveness.”
“No,” he says, shaking his head. “I’m not trying to. This is something I’ve been meaning to get you anyway. And it felt like the right time. To show you that I think of you as the best kind of girl there is.”
He reaches out and offers you a small black box. You look at it skeptically before taking it out of his hand. Eddie watches you with careful eyes as you open the box and pull out the small silver piece of jewelry. It’s a slimmer, women’s version of the cross ring with the skulls that he wears.
“You’ve always said that you like it,” Eddie offers with a shrug. “And you know I was going to give you mine, but your hands are too small. And I guess that jewelry is kind of seen as a girly thing, but I wear a ton of it. So, fuck what people think is for guys and girls. We can have the same ring. We can like the same things. But I can still be a guy and you be a girl. Or did I make that sound really stupid?”
“No, Eddie,” you say, never taking your eyes off the ring in your hand. “It didn’t sound stupid at all.”
“Good,” he says through a relieved breath. He tentatively reaches forward and takes the ring from you. Your head snaps up to look at him in question, but you feel him gently slide the ring into place on your finger. The feeling of his hands so warm on yours and the stark contrast of the cold ring gives you goosebumps. Or maybe that was just the fact that Eddie was slipping a ring on your finger.
“Thank you,” you say. “I love it.”
“Are we okay?” Eddie asks quietly, looking at you from underneath his eyelashes.
“Yes.” As if you could ever say no to that face.
“Are you sure?” Eddie asks, reaching out and holding your ringed hand in his own.
“Yes, Eddie,” you say. “I’m sure.”
“Good.” Eddie grins, an infectious sight at any time, but even more so at this moment. “Because I want to ask you something and I don’t want you to think it’s part of the apology.”
“Eddie,” you say with a sigh, already knowing what he’s going to say. “You hate prom.”
“How would I know for real?” he asks with a shrug. “I’ve never been.”
“You hate dressing up,” you tell him.
“It’s only for a few hours,” he says. “Besides, it would be worth it to see you all dressed up.”
You duck your head shyly, hoping to avoid Eddie seeing the heat that’s come to your cheeks.
“You really think I’d look good in a fancy dress and heels?” you ask.
“Are you kidding me?” he asks, raising his eyebrows. “You look fucking gorgeous in those sweats right now.”

Raul Esparza - Company - Report - The New York Times
Breaking Character for the First Time in His Life
By Joyce Wadler
Nov. 26, 2006
THOSE who have doubts about the pressures that only children in immigrant families face just need to see Raúl Esparza imitating Mother. That’s mother with a capital M because Mr. Esparza’s mother, born in Cuba and shipped out at 14 to make her own way in the world, is theatrical and bossy enough to be a Sondheim character herself.
Consider that Mr. Esparza, just turned 36, is the star of “Company,” one of the most anticipated Broadway revivals of the season. It doesn’t even open till Wednesday, and already Mother is on him about the next step.
“She says now you’re going to have to get some work in a TV show,” Mr. Esparza says in his dressing room, taking a break from the stuff that is tearing him apart, though of course this is part and parcel of the stuff that is tearing him apart. “I said, ‘You don’t mean that.’ What I’m hearing is: Your name over the marquee in a Sondheim show on Broadway is not enough. And you kind of internalize that.”
He’s laughing, riffing: “Well, I guess I could be king of France, ’cause it’s not good enough to be the president of the United States. I’m going to orbit Mars. Why not three times?”
“Company”: The story of Bobby, a charming single man, who is unable to commit to a relationship and who may have questions about his own sexual identity.
Raúl Esparza: No longer truly married but not entirely separated, whose romantic conflicts go far deeper than that of the character he plays and have no easy fix.
His dressing room suite is done all in beige, the better to soothe. To make it more so, Mr. Esparza dims the lights. There’s the comforting sound of the little electrical waterfall and Bill Evans’s mellow jazz, though how much this helps is difficult to say. Broadway denizens may remember Mr. Esparza for a confrontation with Rosie O’Donnell when he had a featured role in “Taboo” and she was the producer, but there’s no hint of a difficult guy now.
You meet instead a funny, self-deprecating man who arrives in jeans and an old sweater and kicks off his shoes. He starts out a little fast and nervous; joking about his star dressing room; saying that in Cincinnati, where he won raves for this production earlier this year, his character wore Hugo Boss and here he wears Armani, not that he can see the difference. He talks about those windows to the actor’s heart, the photos on the makeup mirror. That’s the grandmother who raised him; that’s Michele, whom he married at 23, on their honeymoon.
But he gets to the stuff that’s been tearing him up, the stuff that most leading men would never discuss, pretty early, almost as if he wants to make a public statement. He’s been reading a book that suggests sitting quietly for 10 minutes a day and just seeing what feelings come up, he says, and “basically, there’s a lot of sadness underneath, sadness and anxiety.”

Why is that?
“Michele and I are separated,” he says. “It’s the end of something I thought was going to be perfect. She’s my best friend, I’ve known her since high school.” They’ve been separated, on and off, he says, since he came to New York in 2000; they even went for divorce papers once, in Miami, but couldn’t go through with it. He can’t get away from the feeling that he’s doing something wrong, disappointing other people, particularly their families.
“Life has been very complicated,” Mr. Esparza says. “I’ve been very unsure of things since I came to New York. I was terrified that I would never work here, that I would be starving and useless. Then all those things that happen to an actor. Issues of sexual identity too.”
He says those issues, which first arose in college, “shook the core of who I was.”
“So many artists I admire are bisexual,” he says. “I knew a lot of gay men growing up. There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with it as long as it was someone else, but not me.”
Mr. Esparza grew up in Miami. His father was an engineer, from a family of engineers; his mother was always working, as interior designer, banker or travel agent. The family moved a lot, and his parents fought. Mr. Esparza’s maternal grandmother, America García Pell, moved in with the family when he was 5, and it was she who provided unconditional love. Mr. Esparza attended the Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, which stressed service to the community. He liked girls. He wanted to be a lawyer. But while still in high school he started acting professionally, and his parents encouraged him to pursue that. Perhaps because they had lost so much leaving Cuba, he says, they understood that life was short and you should do what you love.
Then he went to New York for his sophomore year in college and everything changed. He fell in love with a male instructor at New York University, a composer, who was only a few years older. After Mr. Esparza graduated, it was this instructor who helped him get an audition in Chicago at the Remains Theater Company, which resulted in a job.
“He was tough and impossible and manipulative and brilliant and really inspired and believed I’d be a big star,” Mr. Esparza says.
Was he in love with this man?
“Yeah, I think I was very much,” he says. “The best thing about him is he made me feel like a great person, no matter what I was doing. He didn’t seem to feel gay or straight was much of an issue.”
Mother, however, very much did. She discovered the affair by reading his journal when he was home on vacation and demanded Mr. Esparza see a therapist.
“He told me my mom would be better off visiting him,” Mr. Esparza says. “He also said he thought I’d be successful, no matter what happened in my life, but that something was wrong with my mother prying in my life.”
Mr. Esparza did not appear entirely comfortable with the experience himself. Two years after graduating, in 1993, he married his high school girlfriend. And, like the character he plays in “Company,” he was able to distance himself from difficult emotional entanglements.

“There was a part of me that was trying to get rid of it,” he says of his relationship with a man. “That was saying: ‘That was interesting, that was part of me, but it’s not all of me. I choose, because I love this woman, to marry her.’ It was a little bit naïve of me: That was then, that’s that city, that was an experience and wasn’t that interesting back then? When the truth is, it’s not a person, not a place, not an experience. It’s you, who you are.”
In 1998 his former lover killed himself. Less than two years later, after starring in a 20th anniversary tour of “Evita,” Mr. Esparza came to New York — alone. It was a move he felt he had to make, but had resisted, for years.
Had the death made it safer to come back? “Yes, yeah,” he says. “It also made me look long and hard at myself about all the things I had been hiding from now, and not just about gay/straight, man/woman. I also realized that if I didn’t come to New York, I’d regret it for the rest of my life.”
He was terrified. But talking about it now he recalls an actor who told him that when you’re doing a play and you’re afraid of a scene, that’s the scene you should embrace, because that’s the scene that will tell you something about the play. Or, in this case, something about yourself. Still, those first months in Manhattan were awful.
“I couldn’t get arrested,” Mr. Esparza says. “I didn’t have any furniture. I had an apartment on 44th Street, sleeping on an air mattress. I had to sleep with the TV and lights on, I was so scared of the dark.”
What did he see when the lights were off?
“I saw this guy, one time, at the foot of the bed laughing at me,” he says, even now not using the words boyfriend or lover. “This dead man, my friend who had killed himself. He was rotten in the dark, laughing at me and how unhappy I was.”
His days were also depressing. Getting coffee at the Marriott Marquis, he saw some actors he knew from “Evita” who were working on Broadway. “I was embarrassed to go say hello because I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have a home, my marriage wasn’t the way I wanted it,” he says. “I just stood there with the coffee like there was a wall between me and them.”
Six months later he landed a job in “The Rocky Horror Show” and he was on his way: in the Off Broadway musical “Tick, Tick, Boom!”, for which he won an Obie; in two Sondheim shows at the Kennedy Center in 2002; as the male lead in “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,” in which, as he’ll tell you, the real star was the flying car.
Then came “Company.” John Doyle (who directed last season’s minimalist “Sweeney Todd”) offered him the role after their first meeting, without even hearing him sing. The casting director, Bernie Telsey, says the lead had to be someone whom all the characters are “a little bit in love with — only if it was love as in really like.” Mr. Doyle prefers to say that Bobby is the character to whom everyone is drawn, “not in the romantic sense, but as a catalyst.”
“Bobby is the man who is on the outside looking in,” he explains. “What’s interesting is that he’s observing, not doing.”
Image

As for Mr. Esparza himself, he says: “I think the real thing that Bobby is going through is that he’s trying to grow up, and that means accepting things you can’t change, and it also means that in spite of all the messiness and failure you make a choice to love someone and live your life in the way that’s right for you. It’s messier than the pretty picture you painted for yourself. I had a romantic idea of what it means to be an adult: all husbands and wives who love each other get to stay together forever, love is enough.
“There’s a song in the show, ‘Sorry/Grateful’: ‘You holding her thinking you’re not alone/And you’re still alone.’ I remember with Michele one day holding her in bed and being very, very sad because we were talking about things that were so difficult for us to deal with. I remember feeling like this was a chasm between us. That the person I most loved in my life was as far away as another country, and there was nothing I could do or say to change.”
Mr. Esparza is now involved with an actor — nothing he can talk about, it’s still too tenuous, he says — but his wife is still in his life and, he says, he still adores her.
“We’re still trying to figure a new way to figure it out,” he says. “Boy, are we.”
Mr. Esparza and the man he plays have something else in common: the many people telling them how to live their lives. With his father it’s business advice; with his mother it’s professional. There are friends who still tell him that he and Michele should get back together.
“All this chatter, and I invite it in,” Mr. Esparza says, laughing. “I’m the one who says, ‘You are cordially invited to come to Raúl’s house and tell him everything that is wrong with him.’
“And I just did it to the readers of The New York Times. I’m only now learning not to issue an invitation. I can say you are not allowed to comment on my life.”
How is his family dealing with his sexuality these days?
“Dad doesn’t talk about it,” he says. “Mom used to really hate me for it, call me names and get ugly, but she doesn’t do that anymore. She wants me to be happy.”
Mr. Esparza spoke earlier of embracing the scene that scares you. In “Company” it’s the climactic moment when Bobby sits down at the piano and sings “Being Alive.” And yes, that’s the only thing Mr. Esparza can play on the piano. It’s tough both because of the song’s familiarity and his character’s emotional breakthrough. But he’s also had a rough time with “Marry Me a Little,” which was cut from the original 1970 production.
He talks about the contrast between the rhapsodic music of that song, “which alone can bring tears to your eyes, and laid over it these practical lyrics.” He recites them:
Oh, how gently we’ll talk, Oh how softly we’ll tread.
All the stings, the ugly things, we’ll keep unsaid.
We’ll build a cocoon of love and respect
You promise whatever you like
I’ll never collect.
“It seems so practical,” he continues, “It gets me right in the gut. I know what that’s like, to be in a relationship and know there is something seriously wrong here, but I don’t want to acknowledge it, because if I do I’ll have to talk about it. Let’s not talk about it, and it’ll be all right. And you know what? It can be all right for a long time and not just all right, great. And then one day, you’re not.”

👏 with Theo & Tadhg, Cassie & Luke & Sophie, and Marti & the O’Donnell quads, please?
Full House ! :o
Theo & Taghd:
it isn't unusual for them to fly together when one of them feels shitty about something. Neither is very good at talking about things but they tend to just know when they need it.
Theo cursing out Taghds dead parents and Cillian vs the first time Taghd sees Theo's mom and/or grandmother interacting with her.
More than once ( usually when Theo's supposed to be at Godric's Hollow with her mother and grandmother or some pureblood function or another) Taghd has just woken up to find a Pine Marten sleeping in his room. He's stopped being surprised by it.
Cassie & Luke:
Cassie tends to draw while Luke practices fencing and it's something ppl are very "..." about because they're such different activities but like..it's about existing together.
He's one of the few people she'd show her sketch book to.
She's drawn star wars art for him.
Cassie & Sophie:
Cassie cheers Sophie on every Quidditch game no she doesn't care they're in different houses thank you for asking.
Cassie learns how to make tea specifically how Sophie likes it and it's her way of taking care of Sophie because "Sophie always takes care of everyone."
Cassie has never had siblings so she attaches to Sophie's pretty fast and just finds the concept of siblings kind of fascinating?
Cassie & Sophie & Luke:
They were the first she told Hannah and Neville aren't her parents and also why she lives with them.
Star Wars marathons when one of them feels shitty.
Both Sophie and Luke have an open invitation to the three broomsticks /Cassie's house.
These kids make me so sad they bond over not having their parents why did we do this I'm sad I love them
Marti and The Quads
Marti doesn't really come out to the quads so much as she just talks about how pretty everyone is.
Snape may drive her to tears but she goes off on him or anyone picking on Connor for his stutter.
She tends to tackle,-hug Ryan and when he gets taller than her just stays attached to him like a Koala lmao like this is a normal greeting.
I haven't figured out her relationship with Quidditch but friendly games and broom races.
Sara's the one Marti goes to when she needs advice she feels she can't talk to her siblings about.
Marti has at least once tried to tell people she's a Quintuple to see if she can get away with it.
She and Cara spend the most time together because they share a house/dorm
Cara's the only one that probably knows Marti still has dreams about her brother/her Jacob.
Marti's rants about the Quads' uncle are Legendary.
Marti: Daddy you're a lawyer is there a way to legally kidnap my friends and not give them back to their guardian... theoretically of course.
Marti's dad: ... I'm not acknowledging this as a thing you have said without more caffeine.

Press have long struggled to gain access to Joe Biden, a president who largely steers clear of sit-down interviews and unexpected press time. But new rules from the administration will further hamper access by enacting stricter regulations for reporters to obtain White House “hard passes.” And if reporters don’t act in a manner that the White House considers “professional,” they could be shown the door.
Compared to a temporary day pass, a hard pass is generally issued for one year and is subject to annual renewal. It allows journalists more regular access to White House grounds.
Reporters who want a White House hard pass must obtain “accreditation by a press gallery in either the U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, or Supreme Court,” the White House said in May.
Congressional accreditation is a process that conservative media outlets have found tedious and fraught with roadblocks. The congressional galleries are governed by boards comprised of legacy media reporters. And the Supreme Court has a limited number of hard-pass holders (only 25 in the past term).
Tumblr media
Those new rules were a result of communications between the White House and the White House Correspondents’ Association, the Daily Caller reported in May 2023. And the Correspondents’ Association’s officers for 2023-2024 are comprised of legacy media outlet reporters: Kelly O’Donnell of NBC News, Eugene Daniels of Politico, Weijia Jiang of CBS, and Sara Cook of CBS.

A headcanon for Marty and Sara O’Donnell, please?
sure thing!!!!!
ok so one hogsmead weekend marty saw sara and barnaby together (who were SO obviously on a date), and proceeded to pull a “hey guys what’s up?” on them and completely crash their date and third wheel, while remaining completely unaware of what he had done. for a mind-reader, he’s pretty oblivious. sara and barnaby were both too polite to tell marty to go away, but as marty was walking back to school with them it dawned on him. he apologized many times, and set up a picnic for them in the magical creatures reserve as a replacement date, but their meal consisted of only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and ramen noodles, as thats all marty knows how to cook.

for @drinkyoursoupbitch’s AU first kiss challenge: 2. If your otp got together as teens (or it inspires you more), give them that fluffy, dreamy first kiss you've always wanted, but it wouldn't fit their canon story. Set in late 1995 at 12 Grimmauld Place during the Order of the Phoenix.
Sara saw him first. She would have known his tall, broad shouldered form anywhere. It might have been four years since she’d seen him, since their career paths had taken them in drastically different directions, but she would always know him. He looked taller than he had four years ago, but his hair was the dark chestnut brown that it had always been. And when he turned around, Sara noticed the beginnings of a beard stubbled across his face. Then, when green eyes locked onto blue, shuddered breaths were drawn in.
Barnaby hadn’t seen her until he had turned around, but there she was, looking even lovelier than the last time he had seen her. She was dressed in a simple outfit of jeans and a dark pink sweater, but it was her face that drew his gaze more than anything. Sara wore a new set of glasses, square frames of a black and bronze pattern, which deepened the blue of her eyes. Her dark brown hair was pulled back into a bun with pieces of falling into her face. He drew in a shuddered breath as their eyes met.
It was a matter of moments before they were standing in front of one another, for the first time in four years. There was the din of noise that came from the other people in the kitchen of Number 12 Grimmauld Place, but it made no difference to them.
“Hi,” Sara breathed.
“Hello,” Barnaby replied.
They stood there, quietly watching one another for a long time. Then the damn broke and whatever emotions had been holding them still released their grip. They moved at the same time, reaching the other in a single moment. It started with a hug, clinging to the other, breathing in the familiar yet unfamiliar scent of the other person.
Then, they looked at each other. Sara leaned up and Barnaby leaned down, their lips meeting half way. Everything sparked. Sara’s hands wove up into Barnaby’s chestnut brown hair. Barnaby’s arms wrapped tightly around Sara’s waist, clinging to her as if to be sure that she never went away. After several long moments, they broke apart, breathing heavily. The break didn’t last long, and soon, they were kissing once again. It continued until they were interrupted with a deep “ah-hem” and a cheer, arising from none other than Tonks, who had always found Sara and Barnaby’s move to an unintentional separation the wrong move.

🎃👻🎃 HALLOWEEN 2020 SUPRISE 2.0 🎃👻🎃
(pls ignore the tiktok logo on the left)
First of all - that's actually not the Video I was planning to cut. But since I have to stay the weekend at the hospital and not allowed to use my computer here, I have to chance my plans and have to use tiktok to cut at least a little video. Believe me, it broke my heart to use tiktok instead of my usual cutting program. And so the pictures are without the planned Effects, I am sorry :(. I planned to make a Hphm Halloween MC costume video. Every MC is another magical creatures, ghost or what ever. Hope you are OK that I use your MCs without asking 😅. And I will not finished the original Video because I want to finish the first chapter of my fan comic finally <~<.
-------------
MCs I used without asking 😅:
Elaiza Schuyler as the yellow rain kid from ES @annabelle-tanaka-official
It was your idea for the costume. I hope you are OK how I use it >~<
Arjun Singh as mumie @hogwarts9
I was searching for a macigal creature for Arjun and listened to old 90' series opening and "Mumies alive" appear. Does anyone knows the show? I loved them when I was a kid, so I decided to make Arjun a mumie. XD
Kyril Vasile @kyril-hphm / @kyril-simping as Red hood
Why does lolita clothes suits Kyril so good? It was so much fun to draw him in this dress. And the wolf's head too xD
Conor O'Donnell as Frankensteins monster @unfortunate-arrow I want to choose something special for Conor, but I didn't found anything what suits him well. But than I thought about classic "monster" and don't know why but I choose Frankenstein.
Sara O'Donnell - as a Doll @unfortunate-arrow
To be honest, Sara is like a doll in my mind, so it was easy for me. Dolls are scary but have most a sad background story. So I think it suits Sara. ^^;
Carewyn Cromwell as Banshee @carewyncromwell
I love the storys of Banshee. Especially the version of her amber cry if a member of her family will die soon. And what is also very important for a banshee? Her voice! So I thought the Banshee would suits Carey well.
Luna Silver as Vampire @lunasilvermorny
LUNA!!! We were talking about her "costume", so as you said I made her a vampire. And it suits her very well! And it was so much fun to draw her hair!
Helene Adler as Sucubbus @heleneplays
I want to draw Helen for so long and finally I did it! >~< And I instantly thought a Sucubbus would suits her! I even try to make her sexy (but I have no talent for this 😅)
Finn McGarry as Davy Jones @theguythatdraws
I am still in the hphm potc AU phase and I like the idea of Finn as Davy Jones. So I try my best to draw him! And let's be honest, Potc AU Samantha would make so much jokes because of his hand and face.
Angelo Lancaster as Angel of the Death @angellazull
Pls tell no one that I totally forgot his wings! >~< and I use your picture as inspiration but chance a few things, like his hair color so his picture will be not just white Grey and black. But it so much fun to draw Angelo! 😍
Tu Ling as Kitsune @wangxianforever000
Haaaarrrr~ finally I was able to draw Tu! I want to draw her for so long. Hehehehehehehehe. And Kitsune are one of my favorite magical creations and if I know right, she is actually a fox demon or am I wrong? 🤔
Night Rheia as Dementor @nightrhea-hphm
Also someone who told me which costume her mc would wear. First I made her skin with normal skin color, but.... I don't know it looks a bit boring because the special effects in the video are missed. But I hope you still like it.
Wendy Gordon as Selkie @drinkyoursoupbitch
Wendy!! 😍 It was clear for me to draw Wendy as a Nordic creature. And I like selkies very much. I know they are actually not evil, but I thought Selkies would suit Wendy and I try to gave her a unusual pose for me (and Whiskers xD)
Ethren Whitecross as Pyramid hat @hogwartsmysterystory
First of all - I know we never interact with each other and you don't know who I am, but Ethren is one of my favorite MC and your blog is for me one of the big three (the three blogs, why I start my blog) Q-Q but enough fangirling.
Did anyone played Silent Hill 2? I remember when I was a teenager and played the game the first time I screamed so much when pyramid hat appears and he was my nemesis for years xD and this my Frist try to draw a little more muscles *cough cough* hope you don't mind I used your MC.
Keira Jones as evil mermaid @hphm-brooke
Keiras hair as so much fun to draw! While I was drawing her I was asking myself if a mermaid need glasses? And if they do, how do mermaids that's? Anyway, I try to draw not a typical mermaid since there are fairy tales about mermaid where they are more evil and dangerous. And I like that more. A typical Ariel mermaid would be to normal.
Vixen Mcmahen as crazy clown @rosievixen
Aaaa good old horrors clowns! It was from the very beginning clearly for me to draw Vixen as a horror clown. When I start drawing she reminds me first to much as Harley Quinn, but I am happy with the result in the end. And her face expression Oo I am surprised by myself. Hope you like it too.
Danique Winter as the women in white @morningstarinwinter
The women in white is one of my favorite ghost. They are many different storys about her, but in the end she is alsway a woman who was betrayed. Personally, I like the version where she helps ppl if they get lost. And yeah... I thought it would suit Danique and it was very funny to draw her. I lobe to draw long hair! Hope you like it! *-*
And last but not least - Samantha O'Connell as Grimm Reaper. Yes, it suits her and her story. And I added a little Easter egg. The mask she is holding is her mask as a Ghost agent. The time were she was the most dangerous and able to bring pain and death to her enemies.
Still sad I can't upload the original planned videos with all original planned mc's. But my body says no. So well. I will make the best of it 🤷‍♀️.
Hope you guys like it. Will post the pictures in two extra posts.

👽 for my Hufflepuff girl Sara and Barnaby, please? Her profile & some tags are linked on the pinned post. Thank you!
👽 - costume shopping
Tumblr media
“Remind me why we’re doing this again?” Barnaby calls out to Sara a few rows behind him, allowing his fingers to pause on a zombie costume, only to shake his head as he thinks better of it and continues on. “Isn’t dressing up for Halloween more of a muggle tradition?”
Sara huffs as she fingers through another rack that yields no results. “A. Just because it’s a muggle thing doesn’t mean us magical folk can’t partake, it’ll be fun,” Shuffling her feet in mild frustration and disappointment, she comes to a stop beside him. He offers her a dazzling smile. “B. Ben said he misses dressing up with his parents and we all need a break right now.”
Barnaby nods his agreement in earnest, his mind drifting back to all the unfinished projects and study guides sitting on his desk collecting dust. The thoughts nearly makes him dizzy.
Offering him an understanding smile, Sara sighs and takes ahold of his hand. “See that’s exactly what I’m talking about. It’s only October and everyone is so preoccupied that they’re forgetting to take time to breathe!”
“But O.W.Ls—”
“Are still months away,” She reasons, pouting slightly and Barnaby has no choice but to relent. She’s far too cute for her own good. “Madam Rosmerta is throwing a Halloween party this weekend and we’re all going to go.”
Having settled that, Sara nods proudly to herself and sets about helping him chose his own costume. With Madam Rosemerta’s plan now public, one of the shop owners in Hogsmeade has temoraily renovated their store to exclusively sell costumes after hearing from a few students that it is a muggle tradition.
“Can’t I just go as a wizard?” Barnaby muses, half-serious and half genuinely puzzled. “Muggles wear wizard costumes, don’t they?”
For a moment, Sara ponders this, her head tilting just slightly in thought. “Well, what’s the point of dressing up if you’re already a wizard?”
Barnaby hums in understanding. “Good point... what about a werewolf?” He saw a few werewolf costumes already and he recalls that Ben once said he could see him wearing a werewolf costume in the past.
“I thought about that actually, but I’m worried it might offend Chiara.” Sara frowns and Barnaby nods, deciding to opt for something else. But what?
Looking to Sara for help, Barnaby stops as he notices the subtle rays of sunlight framing her form, wrapping around her like ribbon. Suddenly, an idea comes to him.
“I think you should be a princess.” Barnaby suggests, not as steady but just as confident as he had hoped.
An amused smile tugs at the corner of Sara’s lips and she turns to face him, adjusting her glasses on her nose. “And why do you reckon?”
Chewing his bottom lip out of nervous habit, Barnaby shrugs and says as though it were obvious, “Princesses are always pretty so I thought it’d suit you.”
Blushing furiously, Sara grins toothily, her cheeks aching just slightly. She decides to take pity on Barnaby, who fiddles somewhat bashfully with a Hercules costume. She clears her throat.
“Well, Barnaby, I think that’s a grand idea,” Green eyes catch hers, shining in relief and satisfaction and she smirks slightly, handing him a costume she picked up after hearing his suggestion. “Try this one. Every princess needs a prince.”

Since I saw someone else do something similar: how about Ryan x Penny or Sara x Barnaby for the two ships?
Tumblr media
Honestly? I just pterodactyl screeched because how am I supposed to choose between these two extremely cute, super fluffy ships?!?
Okay uuuuhhmmm...
I have to say Sara x Barnaby just because I love how sweet they are together, and they’re both just such pure souls who deserve all of the good things🥺
