Today I begin with a reading from the mystic verses of Sat Saheb, the initiating spiritual master of Sant Dariya Sahib. Sat Saheb was one of the earlier Sant Satgurus of the Sant Mat guru lineage living a couple of generations prior to the time of Sant Tulsi Sahib of Hathras. His mystic poetry is quite beautiful and composed in the style of the Anurag Sagar and other scriptures of the earlier Kabir-Sant Dharam Das line of masters. Then I share some letters from Sant Kirpal Singh on meditation practice. Those are quite wonderful, and helpful for the satsangi seeking to improve the quality of their meditation experience. Then there's a short discourse from Baba Somanath about becoming the "form of Truth" by focusing upon the teachings of the masters. In conclusion, two satsang discourses by Sant Ram Singh: having focused attention during simran practice that purifies the mind, and, about becoming a gurumukh following the instructions and guidance of the masters instead of being held captive by the limited thoughts of the mind, thus remaining a disciple controlled by the dictates of the mind, a manmukh. Thus, the Tatt Khalsas are the Fauj of Akal Purakh and they seek not secular rule as they were offered Kapurthala State (Riyast) but they refused to accept it. Thus, the Khalsa was created for the spiritual rule of philanthropy and righteousness. Thus, the hired Brar Jatt soldiers who wanted money were refused the Baptism. Only the tribal men, sons of Shiv, were chosen into this Khalsa Panth – DAEH SHIVA VAR MOHAE ……… Mai Bhago was not given the Baptism but later on some Munnmukh Tarkhan, Khatri, etc. extended Amrit to women and children. Amrit is taken at Kes Garh Sahib, the Takht for the political affairs. As the people of the third Khashtri Ashram, wise men suitable for politics, Khashtri Varn, look after the political affairs, so they keep their hair intact to prove that they are the sons of Brahma, Lord of the visible creation called Sarishhtti, the tribal people – BRAHM KAE BAETTE SHABD PAHSHAATA. Vegetarianism in Sant Mat and Radhasoami

"Those who take up the practices concerning the lower centers in the body, do take meat -- the Mohammedans and people of other religions also. But those who are anxious to rise above body consciousness and go into the Beyond have of necessity to eschew all that. This is the Path I have put before you. Liberation or salvation is something which starts only when you rise above body consciousness. For that reason, vegetarianism is the first essential." Beloved Swami Sant Sevi Ji: "The saints have addressed the sin of violence with particular attention to the foods which are eaten. Foods which are produced by killing living beings, as well as foods which are not pure and fresh, are considered tamasic. Consumption of these is prohibited by the teachings of the saints. This includes animal products such as meat, fish, and eggs. These foods inhibit the clarity of the mind and the health of the body. There is an old saying: 'Whatever kind of food we take in, its properties will also fill our mind.' A parallel saying is: 'Whatever we eat, just so will our breath smell [indicates the visible effect of food].'

Further, Kabir Sahab says: 'The kind of food and drink which we consume directly influences how our mind will become. Even the quality of water which we drink will influence our speech.'

"Therefore, we must be disciplined in what we eat and drink, and by being disciplined, our wealth and spiritual path are protected. This world becomes agreeable, and so does the next world, since we won't be incurring the karmas from killing other living beings." Meet the Vegetarian Jesus of the Aramaic/Syriac New Testament, Gospel of the Hebrews, and Gospel of the Ebionites

“Now beware in yourselves that your hearts do not become heavy with the eating of flesh and with the intoxication of wine and with the anxiety of the world, and that day come up upon you suddenly; for as a snare it will come upon all them that dwell on the surface of the earth.” (Jesus/Yeshua, Luke 21 : 34, Evangelion Da-Mepharreshe , an Old Syriac-Aramaic Manuscript of the New Testament Gospels)

Like the Essenes, Jesus, his family, and the original followers were also vegetarians and opposed to all sacrifice of animals in the Jewish temple.

"I am come to do away with sacrifices, and if you cease not sacrificing, the wrath of God will not cease from you." (saying of Jesus in the Gospel of the Hebrews)

Stopping Animal Sacrifice in the Temple:

"When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the Temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves and others sitting at tables exchanging money. So he made a whip out of cords and drove all from the Temple, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. To those who sold doves he said: 'Get out of here.' (John 2 : 13-16)

According to the Gospel of the Ebionites, Jesus also rejected the Passover meal:

"Where wilt Thou that we prepare for Thee to eat the Passover?"

To which he replied:

"I have no desire to eat the flesh of this Paschal Lamb with you."

Meet the Vegetarian Apostles of the Jesus Movement, the Hebrew Christians (Ebionites)

Thus far in my research of early Christian writings going back to the Jesus Movement, the Hebrew or Ebionite Christians, all the references to food are not only vegetarian, but VEGAN, as there is no mention of the consumption of dairy products.

“James was a vegetarian….” (Robert Eisenman, James the Brother of Jesus)

“James, the brother of the Lord, lived on seeds and plants and touched neither meat nor wine.” (Epistulae ad Faustum XXII, 3)

“John never ate meat.” (Church historian Hegesipp according to Eusebius, History of the Church II 2:3)

“The Apostle Matthew partook of seeds, and nuts, hard-shelled fruits, and vegetables, without flesh.” (Clement of Alexandria, The Instructor, Book 2, Chapter 1)

Peter said, “I live on olives and bread, to which I rarely only add vegetables.” (Clementine Homilies 12,6; also see, Recognitions 7,6)

Even in Orthodox or Catholic Christianity during the early centuries sometimes church leaders such as Clement of Alexandria and Origin quoted other gospels like the Gospel of the Hebrews, Gospel of the Ebionites, and Gospel of the Egyptians. In other words, knowledge of the vegetarianism of the early Jesus Movement or Hebrew Christians was around for awhile before those other gospels disappeared and their memory forgotten. Even some pro-Paul church fathers in the Orthodox or Catholic world adhered to the vegetarianism of the Gospel of the Hebrews: “The consumption of animal flesh was unknown up until the great flood. But since the great flood, we have had animal flesh stuffed into our mouths. Jesus, the Christ, who appeared when the time was fulfilled, again joined the end to the beginning, so that we are now no longer allowed to eat animal flesh.” (pro-vegetarian early church father Hieronymus)

In the Guru Granth Sahib, Naam is referred to as nectar, by drinking of which the soul becomes immortal. So, where do we get that nectar? When we follow the instructions of the Master and we work on those instructions day and night and we withdraw our attention and come to the Tenth Door, there we manifest the Radiant Form of the Master. And with His Grace, He manifests the Sound Current and we get the nectar. There is nothing else in this world that is as intoxicating and as attractive as Naam. Only Naam has the ability to satiate the mind. Otherwise, the mind does not get satisfied with anything. If we have millions and millions of rupees, we still want more. Likewise, if we have houses, we want more houses. We want bigger families. In all respects, the mind always wants more. So, it is not ever satisfied. Only when the Naam is manifested, is the mind satiated. When the Sound Current is manifested, the mind becomes quiet — it gets satiated completely. Otherwise, the mind, which is running around like a horse — or faster than a horse in all directions — that becomes still and quiet and gets completely satisfied. Then, the mind also realizes it's true self. It understands where it has come from. So, it is an essence of God and that is what it realizes when it gets in connection with the Sound Current.

Baba Farid, Sufi Mystic: "God says, 'If you reform yourself, you shall meet me, and meeting me, you shall be at peace. O Farid, if you will be mine, the whole world will be yours.'"

Commentary by Santji: "Earlier also I said that my beloved Gurudev [Kirpal Singh] used to say, 'God is in search of a man. He is always trying to find a man [a true human being], but it is very difficult to become a man.' In the same way God Almighty says, 'O Farid, he who reforms himself, amends himself, I become of him. I go and set up my residence within him. If he makes me his very own, a time comes when the entire world becomes his.' We know that in the Silver Age, Lord Rama came and we still remember him with much love and devotion. Does anyone remember any other king of that time with so much love and devotion? No. It has been a long time since Kabir Sahib was born. Still, not only in India but across the oceans and on top of the mountains, he is known and adored. In the same way, Guru Nanak Sahib Ji also ruled over the hearts of people. You know how every morning people get up and remember their names. Why is it so? Do we remember kings and emperors like that? No. We remember the Masters because they gave God Almighty a place to reside within them. They reformed themselves and also reformed the people around them. A satsangi [initiate] has a great responsibility. If he is reformed, it is his duty to reform others. He should tell others, 'Brother, by following this path I have made my life. You also do this.' The fragrance of Naam* should come out from the satsangi. Everyone should know where he goes. That is why God lovingly says, 'If you will be mine, the whole world will be yours.'"
