Mizuhara Tomoki, who enjoys non-committal relations, has sex with his work junior’s friend, Shida, out of curiosity after meeting him at said friend’s wedding ceremony. Shida who seemed serious and innocent at first, turned out to carnivorously passionate in sex and Mizuhara now can’t get him out of his mind.

It’s December—the dreaded month. I am on a break from scanlating, but I figured that I’d rather keep myself busy with listening to BLCDs instead of moping and crying over the season. It’s not nearly as stressful as scanlating, so this should be great. I’ve been missing doing reviews anyway. 

So here we are again after almost seven months! But in this particular BLCD’s case, a whole fucking year

Well, what do I have to say? If y’all have read the manga, then there’s no point in discussing the plot here any further because they followed the manga to a T. There were no major adlibs and they even went as far as adapting the extra, so props to Brilliant Prin for that. I mean, when do they ever disappoint? They actually have a few times, but

So we’ll go straight? into the technicalities right now.

Oh my god, do I really have to start with Furukawa Makoto rn? Just kidding, I’m not going to roast Furukawa that much here. I’ll leave that for the next BLCD. No, but seriously, the casting choice for this was really off.

First of all, try as I could to convince myself that he was, Yamashita Seiichirou is not a good fit for Mizuhara-san. I mean, he did his best, I’ll give him that, but his voice is too high for him—it was like Flaver all over again. I think that Furukawa Makoto would’ve done a better job as Mizuhara-san (I said better not great 😂). Imho, someone with a deeper (but not booming) seductive voice should have gotten the role. Think Shingaki Tarusuke (particularly his Yashiro voice), Satou Takuya, or Tachibana Shinnosuke (but I doubt that they’ll have the budget for these guys 😂). 

Furukawa did a good job with Shida, but his voice was too deep and monotonous for me—it was quite similar to his performance in I Hate. Anyway, since Alternative was released in 2018, he gets a pass. but I’m always watching, boyo Also, is it just me or does Shida kind of remind you of Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito’s Mitsuya? I mean, I haven’t heard this in a long while, but I know I cried listening to it. Idk, when I think of Shida, I just picture him to be voiced by Hino Satoshi and Furukawa kinda sounds like him here. 🤷 

Overall, we had great plot execution, decent chemistry between the VAs, plausible casting choice, and faithfulness to the original content. If I had to rate this, I’d give it a 7. This definitely was not Brilliant Prin’s best that year bc that obv belongs to Fruits, Gateau HELLO??? But hey, it was decent. What am I saying when I was the one who scanlated this? 😂 just goes to show how I was scammed No, but seriously, it’s worth a listen. You can listen to the BLCD while reading the manga, so that would be a great learning experience if nothing else.

Give me a ding, if you want the BLCD!

Tomodomo en el Manga Barcelona 25 (2019): Novedades, entrevistas y crónicas de la visita de Aya Kanno (1ª parte)

Se cumple un mes desde que estuvimos en el Manga Barcelona de este año (aún cuesta acostumbrarse al nuevo nombre) y en esta entrada hemos querido recopilar todas las intervenciones, crónicas y entrevistas relacionadas con Tomodomo que tuvieron lugar en el evento, para que podáis disfrutar de ellas si no pudisteis ir o rememorarlas si estuvisteis allí.

El primer día, jueves 31 de octubre fue la entrega de premios a lo mejor del año, en la que recibimos el galardón al mejor josei por Catarsis de Moto Hagio. ¡Muchísimas gracias! Aquí están Alina y Ana posando en el centro con los demás compañeros premiados. ¡Muchas felicidades a todos!

Catarsis, para los despistados, reune las mejores historias cortas de la carrera de la autora recopiladas por ella misma. Justo unos días antes del evento se anunció que Moto Hagio sería la primera mujer dibujante de manga en ser nombrada Persona de Mérito Cultural, el título máximo con el que puede ser reconocido un artista en Japón. Igual os suena la noticia porque otro de los nombrados será Shigeru Miyamoto.

Kotori is really spoiling polish manga fans while hunting for their money.

They’re going to publish both Sangen Tonari no Tooi Hito and Merry Checker by Suzuki Tsuta.

Actually I already have Merry Checker (in Japanese) so I probably won’t be getting it but Sangen is a must buy for me.

And there are some rumours that they’ll also publish Soredemo, Yasashii Koi o Suru. Ah, I can’t wait.
