You seem to be conflating the popularity of fan-made content around a property with the success of the property itself. As I said earlier, IPKKND was (is!) hella successful, whether you track it through the TRPs when it was first airing, or through the statistics around its online viewership (through Star, Youtube or Hotstar), or its success in every single market (Indian or international) it’s been introduced into.

Citing the success of a singular Youtube channel that owed much of its popularity to the fandom’s tendency to relegate anything that wasn’t concerned directly with the leads as ~unnecessary~ doesn’t prove anything except that there was and will always be an audience for that kind of thing.

Irani has gone on record to say she has no interest in supernatural shows, and given that they’re very much in vogue right now, I think she’s being smart about picking finite projects that work for her. Note that sometimes shows morph into supernatural shows when ratings are bad (I’m looking at you, QH).

If I could take 3-4 short projects a year and earn a living the rest of the time through sponsored travel to Macau and Switzerland, and by sponsoring a pair of shoes and a rug here, a ring and a handbag there, I’d quit my 9-5 too.

Sobti has similarly gone on record to say that he’s only picking projects that interest him, and that he has particular interests in web-serials. He had little to no control over what happened to Mohra and then IPKKND3.
