Wedding photographer in San Francisco California by Rachel Levine Photography
Can you provide examples of your previous work? It is important to see a photographer's portfolio to gauge their style and techniques, as well as the quality of their previous work. Ask the photographer to show you a range of examples from previous weddings to get a feel for their artistic style, the types of shots they take, and their overall approach to capturing the special day.
How do you handle lighting and shooting in different weather conditions? Wedding days can be unpredictable, and photographers need to be prepared for all kinds of weather and lighting conditions. Ask the photographer about their experience with shooting in different weather conditions, how they handle lighting challenges, and if they have backup plans in case of inclement weather.
What is your editing process like? Once the wedding day is over, the photographer will go through a post-production process to edit the photos. Ask the photographer about their editing process and if they use any specific software or tools to enhance their images. You should also ask about the turnaround time for receiving the edited photos and if you will have the opportunity to review and make changes.
Can you accommodate our specific photo requests? Before the wedding day, you may have specific photo requests in mind, such as shots of the bride and groom getting ready, family photos, or specific posed shots. Ask the photographer if they can accommodate these requests and if they have any limitations or restrictions.
What is included in your wedding photography package? Photographers often offer a range of packages with varying levels of services and costs. Ask the photographer to provide details on the services included in each package and any additional fees or charges. You should also ask about the number of hours the photographer will be shooting, the number of edited photos you can expect to receive, and the delivery method for the final photos.
How do you handle touch-ups and retouching? Ask the photographer about their policy on touch-ups and retouching. Find out if they offer any post-production services, such as skin smoothing, teeth whitening, or other cosmetic adjustments, and if there are any additional fees associated with these services.
How do you handle unexpected events during the wedding day? Wedding days can be unpredictable, and it is important to know how a photographer will handle unexpected events or challenges. Ask the photographer about their experience with handling unexpected events and if they have backup plans in case of emergencies.
Can you provide references or reviews from previous clients? Ask the photographer if they have any references or reviews from previous clients. This can provide valuable insight into the photographer's work, professionalism, and overall approach to wedding photography.
Do you have insurance? Ask the photographer if they have liability insurance to protect both them and you in case of any accidents or damages during the wedding day. This can provide peace of mind and help ensure that any unexpected events are covered.
How do you handle print and digital rights to the photos? Ask the photographer about their policy on print and digital rights to the photos. Find out if you will have the rights to print and distribute the photos as you wish, and if there are any restrictions or limitations. You should also ask about the resolution of the digital photos and if they will be delivered in a format that allows for easy printing and sharing.
In conclusion, these are some of the key questions you should ask a wedding photographer before booking them for your special day. It is important to choose a photographer who you feel comfortable with, whose style and approach align with your vision for your

I made myself vanilla syrup and then made moka pot coffee and frothed my oat milk to make a vanilla latte and I put it into this amazing cup my friend bought us off our wedding registry and also that clock is from our registry and a million little presents people gifted us were various shades of green that matched! Just like my engagement ring which has emeralds! Green everywhere in everything. We got engaged in my own personal magic number, year 7, and so many things about our wedding just literally fell into place so serendipitously.
My old boss + manager saying theyd let us use the back garden for our reception at-cost (they literally didnt make money by letting us party back there with 30 people for hours simply because theyre generous, good people). My sister paying for our photography. Our photographer herself telling us she’d like to fly up to us in northern ca from so cal to photograph our wedding weekend for a reduced cost because she just wanted to do that for us. The fact that my old manager already knew how to cook food for us at the reception that would be safe for leigh’s food allergies. The way it rained on our wedding day, in a soft gentle mist, which is supposed to be good luck. It doesnt even really rain here and hasnt for months, and probably wont for months again.
The fact that our random city hall marriage officiant was an older gay man, getting two lesbians married in san francisco felt beautiful and just extra special and heavy with bittersweet significance. The fact that the morning we woke up at sunrise to say our vows there was the biggest, purple supermoon hanging low in the sky over us, above the water.
Seeing green everywhere and it makes me so happy. I love that we have been calling each other “wife” for years semi jokingly but now it’s real.

Laetitia Sadier- Rooting For Love (Drag City)
The album begins with “Who + What,” an eerie, moody keyboard-driven melody that builds with layers and layers of instruments and vocals. “I need to I want to I have to; Need to expand, want to expand; Embrace my Goddess; Escape the fortress; The walls are falling down, cultures are communing; Muses are converging; On the verge.” Track 2, ”Proteiformunite,” is the first of many French songs on this album. This time the bass gets the spotlight. Laetitia’s soft vocals take the listener away to another world. And then the band kicks in with a full-out jam! Next up, “Une Autre Attente," is another French track. Eerie keyboards and robotic piano are highlighted here, but the beautiful vocals truly add to this one. Check out the video:
youtube
Track 4, “The Dash,” is a soft, gentle, jazzy number complete with “Ba dee dup, Ba dee dup” Bossa Nova vocals. “Through the center; The discreet shine of your darkness; Eyes of children the heart of another; Things we fear are false; A current life; The place inside; Into the night slowly; Swells vitality.” Next, “Don’t Forget You’re Mine” has a stripped-down beginning, but eventually the music soars and swells with beats and strings. “Hey, don't scream with rage it’s vain. I’m not impressed, just exasperated again. A good slap is what you need; a good slap is what you want; take that take that, get up get up babe.” Track 6, “Panser L’inacceptable,” is another beauty of a song. It has a tropical feel to it. Love the horns here. Here’s the video:
youtube
Track 7, “The Inner Smile,” is possibly my favorite track with shifting flutes and a major jam near the end. It’s the most upbeat song on the album. “Smile at all parts of your being. Smile at the parts you’re aware of and those you’re not. Smile, smile and thank your whole body.” Next up, “La Nageuse Nue,” is a French-titled song with English lyrics this time. Laetitia gets deep with her poetry. “The dissolution beliefs; The singular world; Volunteers the ego. Social body, For a cleansing and healing, Experience. Which may turn the personality inside and out; Discloses the gold hidden within the heart.” Track 9,“ New Moon,” develops into a hypnotic blast of ambient sound. It actually came out way back in 2021. It’s one of those songs you just don’t want to end. A beautiful video directed by Laetitia and Tanya Small captures the song here:
youtube
The album closes with “Cloud 6,” a repetitive outer space choral vocal exercise complete with blasting horns. “You have a power I haven't got. I have a power you don’t have. We need all the power we can get. Our psyches, well-being, brutalised, The world renounces its liberty because it is in fear. Because it is in fear, because it is in fear.” More deep thoughts from Laetitia as we would expect. Another great one from Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier from start to finish.  Make sure to check the tour schedule beginning in March to see if she’ll be hitting your part of the world. ERIC EGGLESON

San Francisco City Hall Photographer
Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you'll make for your wedding. You want to find someone who will capture your day in a way that reflects your relationship, personality, and style.
So what should you look for in a wedding photographer? Here are some things to consider:
Do they have experience?
If they don't have any professional photos posted online, it might be a red flag. Sure, there are lots of people out there who take great pictures but they're not necessarily professional photographers. Look at their website and check out their portfolio before hiring them to ask questions if anything seems off or unclear.
Do they have an eye for detail?
Some photographers just aren't as detail-oriented as others; they may not notice things like loose buttons or crooked ties or minor imperfections in flower arrangements (even though these things matter!). Make sure your photographer has an eye for detail — after all, this is one of their jobs!
Ask About Their Approach
Every photographer has their own style and approach to wedding photography. Some photographers are more focused on capturing candid moments while others prefer traditional portraits and posed shots. If you know what kind of photos you want, it will help narrow down your search.
Check Their Reviews
Most photographers will list their reviews (and awards!) on their website or Facebook page so you can see what past customers think about them before booking your session. Look for reviews that mention specific things like lighting or posing techniques to get an idea of how they work during sessions and whether they're able to deliver what you're looking for as clients tend to mention these things specifically when reviewing their experience with a photographer online!
Don't base your decision on price alone. Sure, it's tempting to go with the cheapest option, but cheaper photographers often deliver lower-quality images. If you're on a budget, consider waiting until later in the year when prices tend to drop.
Ask questions during your consultation interview. A good photographer should be able to explain how they'll capture each moment as well as provide sample albums or photos so you can get an idea of what they can do for you. Some photographers may even offer free engagement sessions or proofs so you can see how they work together before booking them for your wedding day.
Be sure that their style matches yours — especially if you plan to incorporate personal touches into your wedding photos like props or outfits! For example, if you're going for more candid shots then maybe it's not.

The Ultimate Guide to Planning a San Francisco City Hall Wedding
San Francisco City Hall is a popular wedding destination for couples looking for a beautiful and historic location to tie the knot. The building, which was completed in 1915, features stunning architectural details and grand marble staircases that make for a stunning backdrop for wedding photos. Additionally, the City Hall offers a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions, making it a versatile option for a variety of wedding styles.
The first step in planning a City Hall wedding is to secure a date and time for your ceremony. The City Hall is open for weddings Monday through Friday, and ceremonies are typically held between 9 am and 3 pm. It is important to note that City Hall is closed on weekends and holidays, so be sure to plan accordingly.
Once you have secured your date and time, the next step is to apply for a marriage license. The marriage license application process can be completed online and requires both partners to provide identification and proof of residency. It is important to note that there is a waiting period of at least three days after the license is issued before the ceremony can take place, so be sure to plan accordingly.
When planning the details of your ceremony, consider the location of your ceremony within City Hall. There are several options to choose from, including the grand marble rotunda, the Mayor's Balcony, and the North Light Court. Each location offers a unique setting, so be sure to visit City Hall in person to decide which location will be the best fit for your wedding.
Another important consideration is photography. City Hall is a popular spot for wedding photography, and the building's grand architecture and historical details make it a beautiful backdrop for photos. However, it is important to note that photography is not allowed inside the building, so be sure to plan for outdoor photos before or after the ceremony.
When it comes to attire, City Hall is a fairly formal location, so it is recommended that the bride and groom wear traditional wedding attire. The groom should wear a suit and tie, and the bride should wear a white wedding gown. Additionally, it's important for the couple and all of the guests to be dressed in formal attire as well.
Finally, when planning your San Francisco City Hall Wedding, it is important to consider the logistics of the day. The City Hall is located in the heart of downtown San Francisco, and parking can be difficult to find. It is recommended that you plan ahead and either take public transportation or arrange for a car service to get you to and from the venue.
Overall, San Francisco City Hall is a beautiful and historic location for a wedding, and with proper planning, your ceremony can be a memorable and stress-free experience. With its stunning architecture and variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, it is the perfect setting for a sophisticated and elegant wedding.

Origami Angel Announce New Album
Origami Angel will release Feeling Not Found on September 27th. Today they’ve shared two new songs from the album, “Dirty Mirror Selfie” and “Where Blue Light Blooms.” Track Listing * Lost Signal * Dirty Mirror Selfie * Where Blue Light Blooms * Viral * Underneath My Skin * Wretched Trajectory * AP Revisionist History * Living Proof * Fruit Wine * Sixth Cents (Get It?) * Secondgradefoofight * HM07 Waterfall * Higher Road * Feeling Not Found Press Release If you've got it, flaunt it––and all over the upcoming 14-track full length from Washington, D.C. duo  Origami Angel, that's exactly what vocalist/guitarist Ryland Heagy and drummer  Pat Doherty do. Simply put, their new album, Feeling Not Found, is the future of emo. Recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Will Yip (Turnstile, Title Fight, The Wonder Years) at Studio 4, Feeling Not Found revolves around the deeply modern experience teased in the title: an emotional and spiritual 404 error, a sensation of cellular-level malfunction and data corruption, of being lost in an oblivion of digital information, and the desperate struggle to reconnect to how it feels to be human and whole.  Origami Angel will headline a mammoth trek across the U.S. this fall in support of Feeling Not Found, and they're bringing along Arm's Length, Macseal, and Forests for support. All tickets go on sale this Friday. Two songs from Feeling Not Found are out today: "Dirty Mirror Selfie" may quickly rise in the ranks of the Origami Angel discography, with its furious pogo-ready riff plunging into a power-pop declaration of intent.“Where Blue Light Blooms,” a stunning, operatic track, finds Heagy and Doherty giving a workshop in outside-the-box songwriting and includes one of the most thrilling bridges you’ll hear on a rock song this year.  Origami Angel want to be the best like no one ever was, and so far, it seems like very little is going to stand in their way. Over the last few years, the duo has released some of the most exciting music to come out of the emo/pop-punk scene in years, and they're doing it their own way. Their 2019 LP, Somewhere City, has been called one of the best emo albums of the last 15 years by Consequence and their song "Doctor Whomst" called one of the 100 best emo songs of all time by Vulture. Chanel Beads Drops Debut Album 'Your Day Will Come' with Stunning Single “Unifying Thought”
"Unifying Thought," the latest single and video from Chanel Beads, the musical project of New York-based artist Shane Lavers, debuts today alongside his first album Your Day Will Come, released under the Jagjaguwar label. The album establishes Lavers as a promising new voice in experimental music, capturing the complexities of modern life and the expansive realm of the digital age. His sound mixes the raw edge of post-punk, the emotional pull of pop, and the ethereal qualities of electronic music, all while employing unconventional song structures that lead to mesmerizing peaks. The album features contributions from singer-songwriter Maya McGrory and multi-instrumentalist Zachary Paul, enriching the emotional depth of the work. The single "Unifying Thought" is a testament to Chanel Beads' unique style, combining gritty acoustic guitar, lush cinematic strings, and harmonious vocals with lyrics that resonate deeply: "Focus on the love in your heart / I had a unifying thought / But I missed / Like the seasons that we lost." The video, directed by Harleigh Shaw, portrays a day in the life of a young boy navigating through New York City on his bike. After a sold-out album release show in New York City, Chanel Beads is set to open for Mount Kimbie on their upcoming North American tour in May.
