Kelani pulled her black duffle bag tighter to her, sitting next to the other.

"Hey, kid," the man didn't look up from the book, "you headed home?"

Kelani sniffled, rubbing at her eyes, "I'm fine, Joe. How...how'd you know it was me?"

Samoa Joe lowered the book, using the dust cover to hold his place. She'd never seen him smile before, not a real one caused by anything but destruction, but the look on his face was close, "You smell like a Dole Whip. Continually."

A small chuckle left Kelani as she ducked her head, "Really?"

"It's nice," Joe shrugged, "I like pineapple."

Kelani couldn't help the blush that came to her cheeks, even if she didn't look up from her lap. She'd be lying if she said she didn't find Joe attractive. Note: Doing a bit of a character study for a larger work thats about to come out. In the words of the Dread Pirate Roberts: "To the Pain" ->

The roar of the crowd echoed in your head like a pack of wolves baying for blood. Just feet from you, caged in by ring ropes and across a desert of canvas, the love of your life battled for you.

Already you could see the bruises forming on his skin. The bright welt across his chest from the slaps. The dark gelatinous forms around his ribs from punches and kicks. But what worried you the most was how Joe’s elbows were hungry to catch Ricky’s throat. If he did that, it would end the match.

Every so often, Joe glanced your way. The match progressed, and Ricky’s offense moved slower and slower. And Joe’s face slid with ease into a smug grin as the end glared inevitable.

“I need to ask you something.” You twisted the traitorous cloth around your fingers. Small enough to hide from Ricky on your way down to the match. Large enough to weigh like a boulder of guilt in your pocket. You swallowed as Britt waited for you to continue. “What do you do? When Adam is going to far; when you both know he won’t return to you in one piece?”

She tasted several answers on her tongue before answering. “You be there for him. Stand there. Watch the pain, feel it burn in your lungs. And you give it back to him as a strength that will motivate him either to the finish or the end. But my experiences… they’re not like what you’re going to have to endure. I’m sorry I can’t be more help.”

“That’s alright. Thank you.”

The ring shook as Ricky bounced off the ropes, hurtling towards his target. His eyes gleamed with focus and determination. Despite what advice Britt had given you, the cheers and praise you wanted to give him died on your lips. Mostly you could manage a smile when he looked your way. One that he would return. And then shift back to the matter at hand.

Still, your lungs quaked.

If he won: he was number one contender. If he tapped out: Joe was number one contender. And you would work for him instead. No pinfall. No count-outs. No disqualifications. Submission only.

You knew him. His match with Danielson was before you joined the roster as Ricky’s valet. And before the feelings developed. You hated how you longed for his touch after matches now. The recovery period had, apparently, been more brutal than what the cameras revealed.

Then, your nightmare came to fruition.

And behind him, like a grinning gargoyle ready to spill a waterfall of brimstone on your dreams, Joe watched you. He waited. Listened. Patiently paused his malice to see what you would do.

“Here.” Joe drifted out of the shadows and handed you a small square of white. “He’s going to need it.”

The fabric seemed to burn your hands. But Joe refused to take it back.

“We both know him. You better than most. He won’t tap. To keep you near he’d rather hold hot coals than let me borrow you.” He stepped near, trapping you against the wall. “I won’t need you long. I promise. Once the title’s mine, you can go back to him. But he’s in my way of getting my title back. If he wants to have a bit of a rematch after I hold gold, he’s welcome to it. Until then,” he nodded at the cloth, “think about it. And what’s best for him.”

Biting your bottom lip, you dragged the surrender out of your pocket.

Ricky’s eyes, already drooping shut from wont of oxygen, widened. He did his best to shake his head. Holding out his hand, he rasped, “reach for me.”

Your hand slid between the ropes. Though your fingertips would never be able to touch, maybe your closer proximity could help him find a way out?

The grip tightened around his throat, and Joe fell to one side. His leg pinned down Ricky’s flailing limbs.

You watched the glow fade from his eyes. His gaze, glazed and empty, never moved from where he knew you to be. But his lips were already taking on a purple hue.

Joe nodded at the square in your hands.

Against your will, it dragged your hand up to the bottom rope, draping the white fabric where everyone could see it.

“No! Y/N, I’ll-” Ricky coughed, forcing a smidgen of oxygen into his lungs. “I’ll be alright. Don’t.”

Before you could think about it, your knees bit into the apron and you caught the attention of the referee. Eyes brimming with tears, you tossed in the towel, ending the match.

A Busy Day

Whumpuary 2024 January 11-12th, 2024 Exhaustion/Blindfolded/Old Injuries Brandon Cutler/Kelani Johnson (OC)/Samoa Joe

Disney days were always her favorite days, but gosh did they tire Kelani Johnson out so badly.

The trip had started out early as most trips usually did. Kelani had wanted so badly to take Brandon and their new partner Joe to her favorite restaurant on property, Ohana, which was conveniently located at the hotel they had managed to book. Brandon and Kelani had both been prepared for an early morning breakfast. Joe, on the other hand, still looked blurry eyed and not put together. Maybe it was the life of a champion, Kelani supposed. As tired as he was, Joe had enjoyed the pineapple coconut bread and the Lapu Lapu drink he had ordered.

After breakfast, which seemed to invigorate Joe, the trio had made it over to Magic Kingdom for park open.

The excitement of the parks always made Kelani's energy buzz. Maybe it was the joy of the character meet and greets. Maybe it was the joy of the rides, be if the exciting romp that was Tron: Lightcycle Run or her favorite ride in the Jungle Cruise. Joe even seemed to enjoy Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain, which made Kelani happy. Brandon had always enjoyed being in the parks, even if his exhaustion usually caught up to him midday. As boring as it was, Kelani usually pulled the duo into the Hall of Presidents just so Brandon could get in a quick nap.

Between snacks and character meets and the rides, Kelani had felt her battering draining and draining until the end of the day.

The trio had managed to get in one post fireworks ride on Seven Dwarves Mine Train before trudging back to the monorail. There they sat, Brandon on one side of Kelani and Joe on the other. She adjusted the floral Minnie ears she wore, the print on the ears themselves reminiscent of the dress Moana wore. One hand played gently with the pin lanyard around her neck and the other gently squeezed Joe's hand. He let out a chuckle and a pressed a kiss to the top of her head, "Rest up, darling."

Kelani stifled a yawn but shook her head, "I'm not sleepy."

"Don't lie to yourself," Joe laughed gently, "you had a full day."

"Wanna get a dole whip at the hotel," Kelani mumbled as she laid her head on Joe's shoulder. She let go of his hand and he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, "You have a good day?"

"Princess, I had the best day," Joe whispered low in her ear. Next to Kelani, Brnadon let out a deep snore, causing Joe to chuckle, "by the sound of it, so did B."

Life has been busy as per usual but I hope to have some new fics up next week once I am off work for the holidays!

Babies first wrestling show ~ HOOK imagine

HOOK and reader bring their first child to see HOOK wrestle Samoa Joe for the title. And add Taz as a part of the story. - requested by @sunrise28sblog

It's wednesday, you know what that means. Dynamite day! It was also your son's first wrestling show! Tyler wanted you and your son to be there for his very first world championship match. You agreed because before you had your son you wrestled to but decided to give up wrestling and focus on your little family with Tyler.

You were excited because you missed your co-workers who became like your family over time. But you were mostly excited because it would be your son's first wrestling show ever. Tyler, Taz, your son, and you had got to the arena early so you guys could take pictures and have your son run around the ring since he has also been interested in wrestling. Just like his father and grandpa. After a while of your son running around the ring you decided that it was time to head backstage so the crew could finish setting up and that way you guys weren't in their way.

Once you got backstage you noticed The Lads, and ran up to them and gave them all big bear hugs. Last time you saw them was on long island. Your son decided that he wanted to walk around with his grandpa so you let him while you caught up with The Lads. Throughout the show your son would cheer for his favorites. It was tough for him during the Top Flight and Private Party match.

He loved Top Flight since they were basically his uncles. And loved Private Party because why not. Once it got to Tyler’s match your son got scared. He knew something was going to happen. But you told him that dad would be fine.

As Tyler came out your son was cheering the loudest he ever has for his dad. As the match started your son was smiling and cheering, “Let’s go dad, beat Joe’s ass!” your son would say. You were surprised but let it go and would tell him later on not to say that. As the match went on he got more worried for his dad but still watched hoping Tyler would pull through and win. Once Tyler hit his head you knew something was wrong but tried not to show due to your son being with you.

After the match and Tyler telling Joe to come back your son was so angry with his dad. Once he got back he ran to his dad and told him not to do that again. And Tyler would say why he was trying to prove a point. After reassuring your son he would go to medical to get checked out. After he left Taz came by and tried to distract his grandson because he knew he was worried about his dad.

He told him that his dad was a badass and not to worry about him. And that he got his badassery from his dad. (your son's grandpa). After a while he would fall asleep on Taz’s lap and Tyler would come get you and your son and take you guys back to the hotel. As he was putting your guy's son to bed he showed him all the bruises and scars he got and told him that they are his battle scars and that he would get them too when he’s older if he decided to wrestle.

After your son fell asleep, Tyler jumped in your guy's bed with you and right away you whispered to him “Don’t do that stupid shit again, you almost gave me a heart attack!” Tyler would say “I promise I won’t do it again.” But in reality he’s too stubborn to listen and would keep on proving how badass he really is.
