You've described how in Mobverse Alphas are a privileged class, their characteristics are praised, and they have ultimate authority. Omegas seem to be important in that they are rare and Alphas like them as playthings/mates. Are omegas disenfranchised, though? Are their traits such as being more "sensitive," emotion driven, "irrational," mocked? Are omegas who sleep around 'sluts'? Could an omega not want puppies or would that be considered scandalous? Is "omega hysteria" something Alphas and society believe is a real condition? So many questions but I'm interested in how it's like our world with gender roles but even more strict and outdated.
Is a gender role purely a role if some things are innate, and not, as in our world, beaten into people with a sledgehammer? What is nature, what is nurture in behaviour? You'll find that in my world beta women are freer than omegas. Nobody expects them to be stay at home mothers completely. They could have presented as Alpha growing up and are therefore taught far more skills. They have jobs, property in their own name, right to inherit. They're discouraged from having too many children because of health risks. They may be homemakers for a while, but in their forties at the latest usually work again even then. When they want to date Alphas, male or female, they may act more "traditional", but there's a lot of them who say "screw this."
Omega traits aren't mocked in omegas, but they are treated differently as a group because some of them really are "Angels of the home" with very little interest in anything but childrearing and supporting their Alpha. You really shouldn't try to push some of them out of the domestic sphere too much because they really can't make it alone. There's a difference between our world, that requires near constant brainwashing to make people behave "right", and their world, where it is that way. Even Daniel is not particularly ambitious. He may have cultivated that trait had he been with Kumiko, but since there is little need for it with Terry, that part of him remains underdeveloped. Louie, Vanessa and Michael are much more go getting. I think Lucille is extremely active in politics now her pups are grown.
There's far less pressure to conform because these traits are more set in stone. There's some room to play with gender and tradition but, far less, 95% literally can't, not without great difficulty. Alphas aren't banned from nursing; people would be flabbergasted they want to. Omegas aren't banned from upper management they for the most part really do not find it appealing at all. The biggest pressure in my world would be "omega must want to be a mated to an Alpha" (when in fact they could mate anyone) "Alpha must want omega, may choose beta, can't want Alpha" (who says that two Alphas couldn't find love?) "Alpha is naturally always at the top". A male omega who wouldn't want to bear puppies would be pressured to want to anyway, but could be in rare cases understood to lean to the father role. A female omega that doesn't want to bear puppies? That's strange. They're even more strongly primed for it than male ones. An omega that doesn't want anything at all to do with babies might get triple checked if they're not somehow beta.
And yet exceptions do exist and sometimes people do something ungender like. Maybe John Kreese once put on, or rather allowed Betsy to put, on some lipstick and felt some kind of way for three seconds. Johnny Lawrence works his ass off to appear beta. Samantha is said to be quite chill for an Alpha (Daniel laughs at this. Most of the time she simply exhibits Terry's self control and chooses her moments to go utterly batshit). Betas are the most flexible. If pressed, betas can act both Alpha and omega. That's their superpower. If you'd ask an Alpha to handpaint miniatures or something they would probably smash the porcelain. They love puppies but can be on the rough or distant side with them when entirely alone. Captain von Trapp is an Alpha who tries his goddamn best with seven pups, but it's not even trauma, he's really out of his depth. An Alpha can need another human being near to access that tender part of themselves. There are exceptions - Amanda, Johnny, I've mentioned, maybe Yasmin will grow up very girlie for an Alpha, and Gianni really calm (one of the few Alphas who can handle himself in a lab, for goodness sake Eli is smart but will get himself forcibly removed within minutes, as would many Alphas).
But Nonnie, don't take me too seriously, I am making stuff up as a go along as well, there's no flowcharts or anything.

2023 art summary, coming in fashionably late. Director's commentary under the cut:
January: I feel proud of this one, but also feel kind of sad that over the course of a whole year, that January is the artistic highlight. I had a few free days at the beginning of the year where I was alone, and got this wild drive to draw something that I very rarely, if ever, get anymore, especially for a piece that includes a background. Pessimism aside though, I'm really happy with how this came out, barring some aspects of Kanan's facial anatomy I could improve on and Ahsoka's hand (I gave up here, don't look too closely). I've had the scene in my mind for a while, and I'm glad I could finally take it on artistically.
February: Yes, technically this was published in March. As far as I can find, this is possibly the only thing I drew in February, sketches included. I published it on twitter and tumblr in Feburary, fully intending to leave it at the flats, but decided to render a bit on 03/01. On account of my literally having nothing else for the month, I let it slide. I'm also happy to have finished a piece for Seventh/Fifth, and it received pretty decent reception considering it's a bit of a rarepair.
March: I didn't do much, but I did draw Trilla, Eighth, and Reva; and the dynamic has been shamelessly influenced by To Gain The Harbor on Ao3, which has occupied my head rent-free this year.
April: I actually drew two things this month, but I chose Voe, since I always have to have my annual Voe in these, and I'm really happy with how I drew her, here. It's also unpictured due to the formatting constraints, but this one also contained one of my best Kylos.
May: Work started getting very busy here (and never really stopped), so this is where ~sketch season~ starts. I noticed that I sketched a lot of sitting and kneeling this year, which is a bit of a flex, since I've historically had trouble with that (and am still not perfect, but getting there).
June: Credits to Senshistock for the pose here, but I decided to focus back in on anatomy, which was honestly driven by my beginning to consistently exercise for the first time since college—I got a lot more in tune with the practical aspects of how my own and other bodies could move, and though a lot of my poses are static, I find that it's a pretty big influence on my art this year.
July: It's at this time that my love for Reva also turned a corner—I objectively loved her as a character from the beginning, but around this time or June is when she rocketed herself to my third-favorite (hehe) inquisitor. She really grips me as a character, and she featured pretty prominently in my art this year.
August: Was busy touching grass this month, so didn't do a ton of drawing, but did a quick sketch of a village babushka.
September: I decided to color a drawing of Samantha Trapp and Kilner from We Fix Space Junk, which has carried me through many a hard day, and while the drawing feels just a little off, I think I at least somewhat maintained my ability to color something in.
October: I decided to treat myself and buy some fancy pens, and decided on the Sarasa pens on a whim. While they haven't been the cure-all to my art block, they are so much fun to draw in, and about half my sketches from October-present have been with these. Also, Rey!
November: Reva brainrot feat. The Grand Inquisitor. A friend and I were talking over an AU where the Grand Inquisitor (as a Jedi) takes Reva on as his Padawan, and I had to draw it.
December: I sketched a fair bit this month, but decided to go with Eighth.

38th Oscars Best Actress
Tumblr media
5. Samantha Eggar as Miranda Grey - The Collector
In this type of role an actor might end up going too over the top but Eggar seems to do the opposite and instead decides to under act like under acting to the point where if you hadn’t been watching the film since the beginning you probably wouldn’t be able to tell that Eggar’s character has been kidnapped. Like she never feels panicked enough or desperate and terrified enough. I think the awkwardness she has with Stamp’s character in their scenes together work for the characters. I think another thing she did well was having good facial expression throughout the movie and I think towards the end of the movie her acting starts to better match the tone of film and we start to feel how terrified she is.
Tumblr media
4. Julie Andrews as Maria von Trapp - The Sound of Music
Excellent singing all throughout the scene and she keeps the character very animated and fun and genuine but the performance just feels very one note which is more of a problem with the script than with Andrews acting. It just feels like not very much is asked of her and especially in the last hour of the film where the performance really starts to lose it’s shine. Okay chemistry with Plummer, which once again is another problem with the script as the romance is so abrupt.
Tumblr media
3. Elizabeth Hartman as Selina D’Arcey - A Patch of Blue
Very subtle performance and I think she does a great job playing a blind person as she moves very carefully and curiously as we know that her character hasn’t been outside of the house a lot. I think she was able to convey her emotions very well which is hard to do as her eyes throughout most of the movie are covered by sunglasses. I think she also portrays Selina’s cluelessness and naiveness very well as we see her go from talking about something traumatic and then instantly go back to being bubbly after she’s done. When we see her get angry towards the end she still keeps the outburst very restrained and natural as her characters demeanour isn’t a particularly angry one. Her chemistry with Poitier is amazing as they’re able to make their romance feel real and just so sweet to watch.
Tumblr media
2. Simone Signoret as La Condesa - Ship of Fools
She’s not in a lot of the movie but her presence is always felt and throughout the whole film I’m constantly thinking about her and when we’ll get to see her next. Amazing chemistry with Werner, the way the two talk to each other is so smooth and natural. Signoret makes La Condesa very mysterious and seductive almost. Very subtle performance but you could still see how much her character was suffering and how much Signoret and Werner’s characters needed each other which is what makes their final scene so heartbreaking.
Tumblr media
1. Julie Christie as Diana Scott - Darling
The character is constantly putting on a facade and trying to make herself look as charming as possible but Christie does this subtle thing where every once in a while she’ll let the characters face slip into a look of uncertainty, boredom or annoyance and the look will only be on her face for a second or two but still long enough for the audience watching the film to potentially notice it. She has the impossible task of making someone who on paper is a completely horrible and unlikeable person and is somehow able to bring the character to life in a way where the character is likeable and so much fun to watch which is essential in keeping the viewer interested in the movie. Amazing chemistry with Harvey. One of my favourite moments from this performance is towards the end of the film where she’s having a breakdown while also reapplying her makeup because she knows she’ll be seeing the press at the airport.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
I really enjoyed this lineup, I think it’s a strong group of performances. I think the main theme for this year is control of ones life and situation and trying your hardest to find purpose or to find control of the things around you.
