His Legacy, My Legacy
masterlist | next chapter
February 22, 2009
The 81st Academy Awards
The night of the 81st Academy Awards, or informally known as The Oscars, is more than just glitz and glamour. It’s a moment that reflects the years of hard work, passion, and dreams of writers, directors, actors, and actresses—all of which are graded in front of the entire world, broadcast live on television. The air is thick with anticipation as the crowd sits, waiting for their name or movie title to be called. They stand ready to walk onto that stage, dressed in wardrobes worth thousands—or even millions of dollars—but paid for by the power of their name. Then comes the moment they hold that heavy trophy in their hands, ready to give a speech, expressing their joy, gratitude, and how they couldn’t have done it without the people who supported them. They tell the audience at home to never give up on their dreams, a reminder of the belief and perseverance that got them there in the first place.
But for Starfire Ledger, the night of the 81st Academy Awards represented something far different. In her eyes, it was the last time her father, Heath Ledger's name, would ever be spoken. After that, his legacy, his work, would fade into memory, forgotten by the world. At just five years old, she felt the crushing weight of being truly alone, with no family left to call her own. Starfire had lost her mother at birth, only cradled in her arms for a fleeting ten seconds, and now her father was gone too—taken by his own hand, leaving her to watch him deteriorate in front of her, his descent tied to a single, unforgettable role.
There was an opportunity for Starfire to find solace in the arms of those who loved her—her father’s girlfriend, Michelle Williams, and her little sister, Matilda. But that chance was blocked by her grandparents, who deemed Michelle unfit to be part of their precious grandchild's life. Yet, their rejection didn’t mean they wanted to take Starfire back to Australia with them. Instead, it was decided by the maternal force of the Ledger family that Starfire would remain in America with her father’s manager, Brian O'Conner. This decision devastated the young girl, who longed to stay with the only maternal figure she had ever known, even if their time together had been all too brief.
“In a year of striking film images, perhaps the most unforgettable was that of a man with his face smeared in clown makeup, lethally sticking his head out of a speeding car, relishing the night wind and reveling in the chaos he had unleashed on the streets of Gotham City—menacing, mercurial, droll, and diabolical. Heath Ledger, as the Joker in The Dark Knight, kept us all on edge, anxious to see what act of appalling mischief he might commit next. With this preview of performance, as well as with a wide range of other roles to which he put his unique signature, Heath Ledger has left us an original and enduring legacy.” The audience clap their hands in sorrow, but the five year old could feel the piercing of the eyes that automatically turned to her.
“And the Oscar goes to… Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight,” the room erupts into cheers. “Accepting this award on behalf of Heath Ledger are his father Kim Ledger, his mother Sally Bell, his sister Kate Ledger, and his daughter Starfire Ledger.” The family stands, holding hands, as they revel in their lost one’s victory.
“First of all, I have to say this is ever so humbling, just being amongst such wonderful people in such a wonderful industry,” the patriarch of the family speaks into the microphone, his voice steady as Kate gently hands Starfire the trophy. “As his father, I know him well, but there is one person in this room who knows Heath more than I did and should be giving this speech on his behalf... His daughter.” The older man steps aside, softly guiding his white-haired, tinted brown-skinned granddaughter to the podium.
“H-hi,” Starfire speaks into the microphone, testing the energy before she continues. Some in the crowd glance at each other, unsure of what to expect from a five-year-old speaking. “I’m Starfire Ledger, daughter of Heath Ledger. And I promise I speak well for a five-year-old… and that my hair is naturally this paper-white color.” The crowd laughs, and the tension in the girl begins to loosen.
“I don’t really have anything to say, but more so a request… A request to not forget who my dad was… and his dedication to film. I’m still here, and I would like to know that in the future my dad’s name will still be present when the discussion is about method acting or even who played the best Joker. I read in ‘Vogue’ that people tend to forget or talk less about a passed one because life moves on. Don’t let his legacy be a thing of the past, because I would like to remember the person that made me one of the greatest when I’m sitting in where you’re at, waiting for my name to be called. Thank you.”
The five-year-old steps back from the microphone as every person in the audience stands up to applaud, not just for her words, but for her bravery in speaking them.
After the Awards
Starfire fought to stay awake, her body yearning for sleep, but she held tightly onto her grandmother’s hand as the family stood together, receiving the congratulations and sorrowful words of others. It felt almost like a return to the previous year when they stood by her father’s tombstone, Starfire gripping the vase containing his ashes, waiting for her grandparents to say the words that signaled it was time to go home. Home, meaning her father’s house, and her father, who was no longer there.
“Mr. Ledger,” a loose British accent, broke through the murmurs around them. Starfire glanced over to see a man standing before her family’s patriarch. “I’m Christopher Nolan, one of the producers of The Dark Knight,” he said, offering his hand.
“Nice to meet you,” her father replied with a faint smile. “I wish it were under better circumstances.”
“Well, it could be,” Nolan continued, looking directly at Starfire, who was watching them closely, her ears struggling to catch the conversation over the noise of the award show. “During the filming of The Dark Knight, Heath and I were also working on a spin-off... We were both looking for a main lead but didn’t find one before his passing.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, Mr. Nolan,” Sally Bell added, her expression one of quiet sorrow, knowing her son’s work was likely lost to the world after the project was scrapped.
“Will Heath’s last piece of work be scrapped?” Kim, Starfire’s grandfather, asked.
“N-no,” Nolan hesitated. “He finished his main scenes. Anything else that is needed can be covered by a stunt double.” He shook his head.
“Oh, that’s a relief,” the family sighed in unison, their unspoken gratitude palpable.
“As this might be Heath’s final project, I want to make it memorable,” Nolan said, his voice softening. “With the help of Ms. Starfire…”
“Starfire!?” The adults stared in shock, their eyes widening at Nolan’s words.
Starfire looked up at the man, confused. Mr. Nolan took a small step away from the patriarch and knelt down in front of the young girl.
“Starfire,” he said gently. “How would you like to be a part of the last piece of your father’s legacy?”
The young girl hesitated, glancing over at her grandparents. They looked hesitant too but could see the opportunity that might fill the emptiness Starfire had carried since her father's death—or at least give her a distraction from her grief.
“It’s up to you, Storm,” her grandfather nodded.
“We want you to do whatever will make you happy, Snowy,” her grandmother added, giving her hand a comforting squeeze.
“What’s the movie called?” Starfire finally asked, looking back at Nolan.
“Joker’s Menace,” Nolan revealed. “It’s about Joker’s daughter carrying on her father’s explosive legacy.”
“I’ll do it,” Starfire said with determination. “But I want to keep my hair… and I want to wear all-white eye contacts.”
Christopher Nolan grinned, clearly impressed by her decisiveness. “I’ll send Brian the script tomorrow morning then.” He held out his hand, and the young girl eagerly shook it.
“You’re going to be a movie star, Snowy,” Kate, Starfire’s aunt, said with pride, bending down to her niece’s level. “And mark my words—you’ll be back on this stage one day, accepting your very own Oscar.”
“Really?” Starfire asked, her eyes wide with excitement.
“Yeah! We’re going dress shopping for your customized ball gown!” Kate spun Starfire around, causing her to burst into laughter.
Although they were joking, little did they know, Kate’s prediction would come true two years later. Joker’s Menace, the story about the passing of the Joker and the hidden legacy of his daughter, Menace White, took the world by storm. Menace, a white-haired girl with blank white eyes and a brilliant, scheming mind, sought to avenge her father’s death by targeting the rich who had mocked him—and all under the nose of Bruce Wayne, aka Batman.

The 83rd Academy Awards
“Ladies and gentlemen, here is the last award for tonight,” Angelina Jolie announced, her voice cutting through the anticipation in the Dolby Theatre.
“And the Oscar for Best Actress goes to…” Anne Hathaway leaned into the microphone, her smile wide as she glanced at the name. “Starfire Ledger, in Joker’s Menace!”
The room erupted into a standing ovation. Seven-year-old Starfire Ledger, clad in a shimmering silver ball gown with a delicate bow at the back, looked utterly stunned. For the youngest nominee in history, even being mentioned alongside the industry’s best felt like a dream. Winning was beyond imagination.
“You did it, Kiddo,” her manager, Brian, whispered as he helped her out of the aisle. The audience watched in awe as Starfire ascended the stage, her white hair glowing under the lights. She hugged Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway before stepping up to the podium, her Oscar in hand.
“Hi,” she began, flashing a beaming smile. “I feel like I’ve been on this stage all night.” The audience laughed warmly, knowing Joker’s Menace had already swept five awards, all of which Christopher Nolan had allowed Starfire to accept on behalf of the team.
“I want to thank everyone—everyone here and at home—for watching and making history with this film. It became the highest-earning movie of the decade, and I’m so proud to have been part of that journey,” Starfire said.
“I want to thank Brian for stepping up as a father figure in my life, treating me like one of your own, and making sure I didn’t get lost in the darkness of the role or my grief,” she said, turning to her manager, tears glistening in her eyes.
“And thank you, Christopher Nolan, for giving me this incredible opportunity. You reminded me that carrying on my father’s legacy also means building my own, in my own way. This award isn’t just for me—it’s for my dad. Thank you.”
As the audience cheered and applauded, Starfire walked off the stage, her smile wide and her heart full, unknowingly beginning a legacy all her own.
I hope you guys like!!!

Homestuck Beyond Canon Upd8 for September 29, 2024
This is honestly a great time for an upd8.
I'm not doing so hot right now. Both my migraines and my fatigue have decided to start kicking my ass even harder. And I'm a little frustrated with that, since I've been trying to participate in the Path of Exile Runic Strife Gauntlet. But that's going to be hard if my body is going to be fighting me. I'm not making very good time as is, and I can't afford to lose a character due to lack of focus.
At times like this, Homestuck is often a comfortable blanket I'll wrap myself in. This comic has gotten me through hard times in the past, especially with amazing wealth of talent and compassion that's in the community. Even now, with probably a pretty hard chapter coming, I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm hoping we can get some more catharsis for Vriska's arc, and maybe finally give her another much needed breakthrough.
Here we are. Finally behind the 8 ball.
Hah! Also, apparently this is just "Later" so we don't have a definitive time frame. At least that probably means another year hasn't gone by.
That . . . that is a much more upbeat Serket than I was expecting. Hopefully she's not playing strong after her encounter with Scratch. She really does need to take some time to process that and move past it.
Nice boss pick there, in more ways than one.
Okay good! Looks like she did take some time reflect and recover. I'm hoping she actually spent some time addressing things though. Would have been nice to see some of that, but Homestuck has a habit of leaving some things to the imagination.
Looks like some opening up might have happened there. That's good! That means progress has definitely taken place!
Fefeta! Chewing everyone's ear off as usual! It's actually a cute contrast to Davepeta going on one of their usual tangents.
Vriska's never been shy about getting in on the RP action. Much less menacing than a Mindfang RP, but also still very much Vriska.
Hah! Vriska's trying to wrap her head around the sprite shenanigans.
Fefeta! No!!!
Nope. Not gonna explain anything.
No glomping without consent!
Consent and glomp achieved!
Looks like they're literally calling them hells. Also awesome art.
I'm still going with (Vriska), but that leaves the opportunity for Terezi to show up too, just as Aradia showed up with Tavros.
Kinda reminds me of the faint image of the stage at the center of the black hole.
Hey! I got one!
Wow! Really pushing the age difference here. This Vriska is still 6 after all.
It's one thing to apologize. But this is still a valid Vriska. Can you accept her.
And apparently she can't do it.
Wow! She really just peace'd the fuck out!
And that's it for the chapter. Vriska has hit another wall. Despite the fact she knows she should, she can't accept the part of her she views as having given up - as choosing happiness over the mission. She's probably telling herself that this version of her left everyone behind when they still needed her, and she can't accept that. But the simple fact is that version of her is still a valid her. It's still a path she took. We don't see any other versions of Vriska in the bubbles, because but for one well placed punch this was Vriska's fate. Sally "thewertsearch" just got to Vriska's death in her liveblog. Scratch makes it clear that Vriska always chose to fix the coin, always chose to go fight jack, and Terezi always stabs her in the back because she knows what the consequences will be. It's a constant across all timelines. And that Vriska always fights to stay relevant until everyone but Meenah leaves her. And then she chooses happiness instead.
And apparently, Vriska just can't deal with that.

Bellflower Bat WH Spooky Month AU
EDIT: Added everyone else’s feelings to Bellflower. Here’s Bellflower in another AU by the ever talented and marvelous @night-light-artz This time it’s Spooky Month. And just like their Van Helsing AU this chart shows how my clearly not doing so hot bat feels towards everybody.
Starting with Eddie-As you can see she’s neutral to the guy, even if he IS the reason she no longer has an arm. Yep in this AU Frank and Eddie’s son Freddie takes Streber’s place at running the haunted house, and of course since Eddie is Bob in this AU he’s not gonna hurt his son, but anyone else is fair game in the haunted house. Unlucky for Bellflower she was that game. She did manage to fight him off but still lost her arm and got seriously injured on her left wing too. But she can’t despise Eddie because she’s been keeping Freddie safe for him and Frank and knew them both before she knew who Eddie truly was, so she doesn’t do anything and really with the amount of pain pills she’s on she’s too tired to. Eddie sees her as a friend but he was also a little too knife happy and probably a little hungry too so he was blinded by those feelings when he attacked Bellflower. Not sure how he would feel afterwards learning what he did to Belle, maybe to just avoid her for a while.
Next is Howdy-Her boyfriend, who helps her get through this tough time. Even if he looks tired and done with everything life has thrown at him, when he can get home to Bellflower he turns into a full blown cuddlepillar. He was so scared when Frank frantically called him saying Bellflower was in the hospital and seeing her with a missing arm and learning about her major blood loss and the possibility she’d never fly again really hit him hard and he swore to her unconscious boy that he’d do all he could to make her life as normal as possible. He puts her pain meds in sweet treats even if she’d take them normally but she appreciates the care. She also is accepting of him acting as her “new arm” since he’s got two to spare. She cuddles to him when she can and though suffers nightmares, night terrors( especially when she learns Eddie went to where Howdy works) and phantom limb syndrome at times she loves Howdy and he loves her.
Julie-A dear friend who actually introduced her to Frank, Eddie, and Freddy, the two hang out often, Julie helping Bellflower when Howdy can’t. She helped Bellflower stretch her injured wing so at least Belle can use it though she hasn’t tried fully flying yet she can flap it and whap people with it when they’re being stupid. Julie is also happy to be Bellflower’s second arm and wants to enter them in a three arm competition which Bellflower humors her and is helping her brainstorm ideas for what a three armed competition would entail.
Poppy-Bellflower’s wonderful cousin who, while not the one who patched her up, did visit her after the attack and keep her bandages clean and her meals filled with good fruit, but only when on her own break. Bellflower was so happy that Poppy went into the medical field and even helped her study for her tests. These two get along like sisters more than cousins and Poppy is very happy her Demisexual and Demiromantic cousin found a good Caterpillar as a boyfriend.
Sally- Since she’s a cop Bellflower has a high amount of respect for her and the job she does. She did tell her and Barnaby all that happened with the attack. Sally also hopes to bring justice to all who have been harmed by this serial killer “menace”.
Barnaby-Like with Sally she holds Barnaby with so much respect and in turn he tells her jokes that she tells to Howdy so both can unwind from the day with a good laugh before falling asleep cuddled together.
Wally-A sweet kid Bellflower babysits for Frank, as well as his pumpkin costume wearing best friend, she treats Wally as a younger brother and he sees her as an older sister. Also Freddie sees Bellflower as a sister too and feels terrible his dad did this to Bellflower but is glad she holds no ill will to anyone in his family.
And last is Frank-Frank was introduced to Bellflower by Julie when they were looking for another babysitter and not only did Belle leave a positive impression on Wally but also Freddie and quickly Frank. While their friendship is not as strong as his and Julie’s he does see her as a very good friend and she sees them as someone she can go to even when not called up to babysit or assist Freddie with any of his new projects. Frank does feel immense guilt for what Eddie did to Bellflower and is helping her through her recovery, making sure she’s able to relax even when she’s watching Wally and his friend. Bellflower has to constantly reassure Frank that she does not blame their husband for what happened and is just thankful to be alive so she can still enjoy Frank and Julie’s company. Still, Frank keeps a stock of Belle’s favorite fruits in the fridge.
And that’s Bellflower’s connection to everybody in this AU, with an addition of Freddie even if he’s not depicted here. Hope you enjoy this and thank you @night-light-artz for another wonderful WH AU.

Hear me out, headcanons about Percy getting another demigod half-brother. Please write some and I hope you have a good day/night/whatever!!
🍙: i think yes! thank you for the request <3
imagine percy’s shock when he goes back to camp to find another kid sleeping in his bed
bc he’s so used to it just being him in the poseidon cabin
“what the hell”
you: 😄
i’m ngl when i say that you guys are the WORST
you bully him for only liking blue food
he bullies you back for your own ocean based hyperfixations
your table at meal times is DANGEROUS
everyone makes sure to get out of the splash zone!
percy definitely accuses you of copying him
just because you’re younger
“no way you have the same blue hoodie as me” “actually it’s more of a turquoise”
ppl called you percy junior for a while
annabeth had to start differentiating between you two
percy’s seaweed brain and you’re kelp head
omg speaking of annabeth
i fully believe you two would gang up on percy
the sibling bond doesn’t matter when the gf is involved
sometimes you feel kinda insecure
because percy has done so many amazing things
and what you do seems inadequate in comparison
but TRUST percy will reassure you
sally too omg
SALLY LOVES YOU
she sends you home with blue cookies everytime you go to their place
your mortal parent and sally are bffs
book club, coffee dates, shopping
literally the standard of bffs
i do think that you and percy are extremely close
you pick up each other’s mannerisms and things tend to feel a little empty when you guys are apart
you hate that percy is almost 18
so you’re trying to spend as much time with him as possible before he goes to new rome
“you’re literally gonna be with annabeth everyday next year”
obvi he chooses to spend a lot of time with you
but sometimes annabeth comes too!
(you’re bffs with her cousin magnus btw)
overall, i think you and percy are menaces
but you’re everyone’s fave menaces
so we still love you <3

so i've just joined the pjo series discourse on sm (i've read all the books) so maybe people might have already said this but i feel like the monster fights are kinda underwhelming ?? the fights themselves but the atmosphere around them too. i'm just going to say it point by point to be clearer :
Mrs. Dodds: she's the first monster and threat of the show. i was waiting for something scary and surprising, that would have terrified percy or something. but instead the "reveal" was slow, and there wasn't even a fight, he just kind of opened the sword (even tho we don't even see him doing it) and she just. dies like that ?? it was really easy and i get that they can't just kill percy in the first ep but there wasn't even a bit of struggle or anything. tbh this first fight really dissapointed me. there was mystery that creates an intrigue but she just wasn't scary or a menace imo (EDIT : I HAVE NOW REREAD THE SCENE AND IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS EXACTLY HOW THE FIGHT PLAYS OUT IN THE BOOK (extract down below) so forget everything i said in this part, i'm sorry. )
2. The minotaur : i liked this one much more than the first one, the car chase was thrilling and the atmosphere of the scene was really cool. i've only got one little thing to say about it, but i think it's just a me thing and i'm nitpicking (idk how to make gifs so i hope you can picture it in your head) :
when sally takes percy's jacket to lure the minotaur away from the boys and uses it as a red cape like in a corrida, i think it kinds of take the attention away from the fear of the monster in itself by being comedic. AGAIN i know i'm nitpicking here but why not say it.
(also i regret that the last scene was so far away from the camera and from the camp border. i know it's bc it's percy's pov but i loved percy's desperation in the movie (I KNOW IT'S BAD) when he's failing to save his mother and finally sees her (and her emotions) when she is gets taken away from him.)
3. Medusa : i LOVED what they tried to do with medusa and how they tried to make us sympathise with her. however, the fight was REALLY dissapointing to me. it kind of happened from nowhere. it's implied that it's annabeth plan but it really happened way too fast and did not give enought time for the viewer to appreciate the threat that medusa can be. it felt way to easy for them to beat MEDUSA. the fight lasted 5 seconds max and it felt shy in a way, like as if they didn't not want to fuck it up.
+ special mention : 4. Clarisse: I'M NOT SAYING SHE'S A MONSTER, I'M JUST PUTTING HER HERE BC TECHNICALLY SHE WAS A THREAT TO PERCY. i like dior's acting, idk anything about her outside of the show but i'm going to be honest : not knowing the cast at all, at first i immediately thought she was drew 😭. she IS a really pretty girl but for me she doesn't emanate clarisse's ares' daughter vibe. when her spear broke she was so GOOD, but appart from that she's just really chill i think ? like she's not menacing, she just kind of a mean girl bully (which clarisse is ig but she's not a menace enough imo) and tbh i think she's just not as "rough" as i think she could have been.
tldr : i think the fights were not scary enough and did not set a good tone for the series. they were also too easy and fast for them to be enjoyable.
of course i still enjoy this show a lot so i will be watching the next episodes and the rest of it so maybe there will be improvements. please yell what you guys think !!
it's the first time i ever talk so much on tumblr, so i hope it was readable. if there was any mistakes please tell me, english is not my first language.

Can you tell us more funfacts about the Masquerade AU?
Masquerade Au- funfacts
Oooo, I have sooo much info/fun facts that I love to share to you all about my Masquerade au. (Also, quick drawing of wally, frank and sally. I've been a busy bean, so i'm sorry for the late answer)
Now for the Fun Facts:
-Wally: His height is 5"4 tall. He can give hugs but will sometime go ragdoll if you hug him first without informing him. He's a man that loves sweets, especially if it's apple-related. And his voice claim is *drum roll* Sebastian Michaelis from "Black Butler".
-Juile: Her height is 5"5 tall. She has a big collection of gifts in her room (from guests, and she cherishes the ones from her friends). During the day, she enjoys hanging out with the residents or roam the halls singing. Her voice claim is Anastasia's voice, and maybe her singing voice is Lucille from "Monster in Paris".
-Sally: She's 5'6 ft tall and is a little menace in the mansion. Sally and Home have a sort of sibling relationship, and she always gets clean-up duty when she teases/pranks him too much. Sally's voice claim and singing voice is Sawyer's voice from "Cats Don't Dance".
-Eddie: He's 5'7 ft tall. He became the lead male singer due to Sally overhearing him singing a song to himself as he walked through the garden one day (the song was totally not based on Frank *wink wonk*). His voice claim is Mr fox from "Fantastic Fox," and his singing voice is "Michael Buble".
-Frank: He's 5'5 tall. Frank learned how to play the violin from Home. He loves to garden in mansion grounds and still is a bug lover. His voice claim is Victor from "corpse bride" (I'm still debating this).
-Poppy: Her height is 6 ft. And her dance style is ballet (all forms- classical, neoclassical, and contemporary). She enjoys spending her time in the kitchen or the tea room of the mansion. It's rare to see her dance at the ball because she is shy, but you can still see her dance on her own time during the day. Her voice claim is Maid Marian.
-Barnaby: His height is 7 ft. He loves to joke around and join in on Sally's antics but knows when to step down if it's too much. He loves to hang out with all the residents and is incredibly close to Wally (since they are best of friends) and is seen helping Wally with dealing with the guests. His voice claim is Mogens from "Klaus film".
-Howdy: He is 7'5 ft tall. He loves to create new drinks for guests to try and is an absolute jokester when he is around Barnaby. He tends to keep poppy company during a ball but is also seen helping Barnaby with the guests. His voice claim is Mr rogers.
-Home: He's 8'5 tall. Not only is he a whole mansion, but he also has a puppet form, which he can control both. Now, when he takes on his puppet form, it does not affect the mansion while he roams within himself (it sounds weird as I type it out XD). Also, when he isn't in his puppet form, he shows himself through windows or mirror reflections when he wishes to, mainly with Wally and the residents. (It's a bit hard to explain, but I know many people will ask). Also, Home's glasses crack when he starts to get mad or is angered (a little detail that I can't stop drawing). His voice claim is *drum roll* Mordecai from "Lackadaisy" and his singing voice claim is Fred Astaire.

The two 90s Sonic the Hedgehog series (like that wouldn’t be confusing)
[All images are owned by Sega and DIC animation. Please don’t sue or Roboticize me]
youtube
(Thanks to TheNawaf258)
One cannot understate the importance of the spiny mammal with the freakish blue spines and even more freakish speed that bust onto the scene when Sega introduced the Genesis in the early 90s. Before Sonic, a certain company whose mascot was a certain plumber ruled the home video game market. Now we had a contest!
In fact, Sonic’s popularity was so huge that in 1993 not one, but two animated series were created by DIC Animation! The first, The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, made the weekday syndicated circuit.
youtube
(Thanks to Choones The Train Driver)
The series follows Sonic (voiced by Jaleel White, who played Steve Urkel in Family Matters) and his best friend (introduced in the second Sonic game) Miles Prower (a play on “Miles per Hour”) AKA “Tails” (so nicknamed due to the fact that he has 2 tails that he can spin like a propeller, enabling him to fly) as they defend the planet Mobius from...
Dr. Robotnik and his primary cybernetic cohorts...
...Grounder (left) and Scratch.
The plots (and gags) are straight out of Looney Toons. The bad guys are complete idiots who are easily thwarted by Sonic and Tails.
This series was definitely designed with the under-10 crowd in mind. As I was easily double that in ‘93, I wasn’t overly impressed with the series. However, if you would like to watch the series, it’s available on Netflix.
If I was less than thrilled at Sonic’s impression of Bugs Bunny, what DIC produced for the Saturday morning crowd was the exact opposite!
youtube
(Thanks to 90sCartoonIntros)
Sonic the Hedgehog sets a vastly different tone than Adventures does, making it in my opinion vastly superior to its weekday version.
Jaleel White again voices Sonic (just to add to the confusion), but this time he’s one of the inner circle of a group of freedom fighting animals attempting to free Mobius from...
...Dr. Ivo Robotnik (voiced by Jim Cummings, whose voice credits are too numerous to list but is the voice of Winnie the Pooh (and Tigger too!) since the late 90s), who has transformed most of the world’s inhabitants into cyborgs enslaved to him. Alongside his robotic army, Robotnik has transformed Mobius into a dystopian hellscape. Unlike the weekday kiddie fare in which Robotnik was trying to take over Mobius, he has actually succeeded and is the evil overlord of the world! Yes, this version of Robotnik is actually menacing, as opposed to a fat, bald Yosemite Sam in the weekday version.
Assisting Sonic in his fight are...
Princess Sally Acorn (voiced by Kath Soucie, who voiced Phil and Lil in Rugrats), the leader of the Resistance and the closest thing to a love interest Saturday Morning fare could show.
Antoine Depardieu (voiced by Rob Paulsen, who voiced Yakko Warner in Animaniacs and Raphael in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series), the incompetent comic relief who speaks in a stereotypically bad French accent and more than a little jealous of the attention Sonic gets from Sally.
Bunnie Rabbot (voiced by Christine Cavanaugh, whose many voice credits include Dexter in Dexter’s Laboratory and Chuckie in Rugrats), who is full of Southern charm and sass. She also had a run-in with Robotnik somewhere in her past, which resulted in her getting bionic legs and a bionic arm.
And of course you can’t have Sonic without Tails (voiced by Bradley Pierce, who voiced Chip in the animated Beauty and the Beast and played Peter in Jumanji) since they shared a video game together.
There is a definite edge, a sense of danger, and a small bit of body horror (when you consider there are living beings trapped within some of those robotic shells) to the series. If it was made with an older audience in mind, things could’ve been taken a bit farther, but it was the early 90s and Gargoyles and X-Men were still a few years away (and Batman: the Animated Series was still a new concept)
If you would like to watch an episode, it’s available on Roku.
As always, if you would like to see a particular episode reviewed, let me know!

The Fall of Fair City - Chapter 11
"Also The Learnerer should have mentioned this part to you if he hadn't before. Dr. Two Brains had gotten injured from one of the machine misfiring and striking him. He was in no condition to continue any more crimes nor was he able to come to jail. So I let him go home to his child to take some rest. Afterwards I checked on him a few times before I went to bed myself. He was at his home the whole time so there was no way Dr. Two Brains could have come back here and destroyed the storage unit." The commissioner, the cops, and the owners still did no look appeased by her word. The commissioner spoke up what most of the others were likely thinking. "Look Wordgirl, your a great hero and aid to this city, but you are also still a young child. You don't realize how dangerous these villains can really get if not properly monitored. Dr. Two Brains is considered our most dangerous person of interest not because of his cheese addiction, but because of how mentally unstable the guy is and the dangerous use of items he has access too should he one day decide to stop stealing cheese and go after a different target. Who knows how much casualties and property damage this guy can cause if left alone." Wordgirl and Huggy both immediately looked offended at the commissioners accusations. 'How dare this person view dad as nothing more than a monster!' Surprisingly but also luckily for Wordgirl, Sally moved in with her own retort. One that was emotional but also professional enough and it wouldn't reveal any hidden secrets. "Now just hold on a minute there. Dr. Two Brains may be a menace but he is not the threat I know most of city hall perceive him to be. He may have done wrong but he is also just a father who wants to give his little girl the safest and best life he can. Now like I said before Wordgirl showed up, I am here to clear up a grave injustice. It was wrong and appalling of Dr. Corngraves and his associate to immediately cast blame on Dr. Two Brains for the crime. Just as Wordgirl has clearly stated. There has been no strong evidence presented so far to tie Dr. Two Brains to the destruction." An older looking man, likely in his mid to late 60's due to his wrinkles and fading, silverly hair, stood up with an outraged expression. "Excuse me Mrs. Botsford but I do not appreciate being implied that I am a liar! I have clear video evidence that proves Dr. Two Brains to be the one responsible for the crime." Becky's eyes widened a bit. She was now perplexed. She trusted her dad when he said he didn't go back there but how could there be video evidence of him doing it? "Well just where is this video evidence anyway? I don't recall it being presented to the police when you made the call Dr. Congraves?" Sally Botsford asked with open skepticism, her hands folded in agitated patience. The man, Dr. Congraves, seemed to falter a bit before regaining his composure. "Unfortunately there is very top secret information on those security tapes that cannon be shown without high level clearance. But I saw and know for a fact that it was Dr. Two Brains who broke in and destroyed all that hard work and valuable equipment." He then turned to face Wordgirl with a serious look of disappointment. "Even if there wasn't video evidence it doesn't matter. "If you had done your job and put that menace Dr. Two Brains in jail in the first place Wordgirl, then all those inventions would still be there and secure!" There was an air of stunned silence as Dr. Corngraves' words settled in the room.
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME WHY I OUGHT TO..." Sally Botsford began to angrily yell, breaking the silence and causing the room to fall into chaos with arguments and very angry monkey squeaks. The loud sounds vibrating into the halls. The people and heroes were so focused on their arguments that they didn't notice a particular figure sneaking in silently. Trying to not make themselves known to the loud and enraged group, just a pair of two certain heroes. With eyes locked onto the unsuspecting duo. The figure picked up a crumpled piece of paper and tossed it at the back of Captain Huggy Face's Helmet, trying to get his and Wordgirl's attention and ONLY there attention. It was a matter of vital importance here. @melodythebunny @dualnaturedscientist

Of Milk and Cookies Chapter 18
I'll be honest... It's been years since my last update. Life happened and a lot of my writing took a hit as a result. This story was never truly abandoned, just put aside for awhile, as much as I love this story. Anyway, I am so happy to finally have another chapter ready to share with the world. Hope you all enjoy!
"You have no idea how good it is to eat real food again," Nya declared through a mouthful of pizza. She was finally home after several days of being stuck in her hospital room. The doctors had been concerned about potential infections and had a hard time believing she would stay put if they released her sooner. It had taken a wide array of medical tests (and a lot of begging) to convince them to let her leave. Nya would have danced with glee if not for her stitches. Instead, she settled for a celebratory dinner from her favorite pizza place.
"I can only imagine," Lloyd commented. His own diet lately had been an odd mixture of fast food and local delicacies (some of which were…. Unique for lack of better words) depending on his location throughout the victory tour. He had politely declined her not so subtle attempts to get rid of her bowls of jello and mystery goop by getting someone else to eat them during more than one visit.
"I'm just glad you're okay, Nya," Jay told her, reaching for a slice of pepperoni. He had been extra protective of her since their mad dash to the hospital a few days earlier. Nya wasn't sure if she found it adorable or annoying.
"Yeah, don't scare us like that again." Kai added, earning him a vicious elbow jab from his sister. Nya ignored his yelp of pain.
"I'm fine, guys, really."
"If you're fine, I guess we should put back all the booby traps we found in your room, huh?" Cole offered teasingly. Several of the students of Wu's Academy had chosen to express their excitement at Nya's return by leaving little… surprises in her room.
"Nope. Definitely don't do that," Nya relented. She didn't have the energy to deal with frogs in her bed or whatever else the kids had come up with. "How did Sally and Megan even get in there?" Whoever else may have been involved, those two were almost always the ringleaders when it came to annoying Nya.
"It wouldn't surprise me if Brad taught them to pick locks," Lloyd offered with a shrug. As much as his friend had changed, Lloyd was sure he could still be a menace when he wanted to be.
"Eh. That tracks. I gotta say, I like that kid way better when he's focused on his gardening instead of causing chaos." Nya might find Brad annoying, but she had to admit he had done wonders with the school's flowerbeds.
"He has really been trying to turn over a new leaf lately. I'm proud of him," Stated Zane. The others nodded in agreement. Brad had come a long ways since they had first met him during the Evil Clone Incident.
"With a granny like his, I'm not surprised. She scares me." Jay shuddered.
"Hey, now," Lloyd said. He took a bite of pizza before continuing. "Everyone needs a slightly terrifying old person in their lives. Brad has his granny and we have Uncle Wu."
"You find Wu terrifying?" Zane asked, skeptical. He found it difficult to see Wu as particularly threatening. On most days, at least.
"Well yeah - Sometimes." The green ninja sheepishly admitted. He was fully aware that most people probably expected his father to be the relative he found scary. And Garmadon was scary, too, but things were different now that he was free of the Great Devourer's venom. Wu was a menace because he wanted to be, not because of any outside influences.
"Have you seen how quickly Wu can move when he wants to be sneaky? I swear the guy gives me a heart attack at least once a week popping up behind me when I'm in the middle of something!" Jay exclaimed, "I'm with Lloyd on this one."
"You probably shouldn't say that in front of Wu. It'll just encourage him," Kai commented.
"Yeah," Cole agreed, "Don't give him any ideas. One time I told him he might wanna sing a little more quietly in the shower… So He sang louder instead."
Nya stifled a giggle. Their uptight mentor certainly knew how to mess with people when he wasn't forcing them out of bed hellishly early to train. No one except maybe Zane appreciated that. Speaking of beds, Nya was beginning to think hers sounded like a rather nice place to be right about now. Definitely more inviting than the hospital cot had been. With a thick pile of fuzzy blankets and plenty of extra pillows. Mmm… Yes… Bed… sleep. She had a lot of sleep to catch up on…
"Ugh. I hate to say it, but I'm about ready to fall asleep at the table. All the pain meds they had me on really wiped me out," Nya admitted, yawning. Several of the others began to boo loudly at this announcement.
"Oh stop it you guys. You managed to survive a weekend without me. I'm sure you can survive a little longer," Nya told them. She rolled her eyes at the ridiculously pathetic looks Lloyd and Jay were giving her. She wouldn't be giving in to their pleading puppy eyes routine. Not this time.
"Aww fine…" Lloyd was the first to relent. "But at least have some dessert before you go?" He leapt up from his seat and disappeared into the kitchen to retrieve a grocery bag with several boxes of frosted sugar cookies. Nya stared longingly at them and said,
"I guess I could be convinced to stay up a few more minutes." She couldn't help it. The cookies were calling to her.
"That's what I figured," Lloyd replied. He really was an expert at the Bribing Nya game. It was a skill worth being proud of.
"Wait, wait, wait!" Cole interjected, "we can't have cookies without milk. It's practically illegal."
"Truth. I got it!" Jay announced. Glasses and a jug of milk were quickly added to the assortment of cookies Lloyd was arranging on the table.
"I propose a toast," Kai stated, pouring himself a cup of milk, "To Nya not dying and finally escaping the hospital."
The sound of glasses clinking followed as the others repeated, "To Nya not dying and finally escaping the hospital!"
It really was good to be home.

Hey There!
How exactly does Charlie feel around the other puppets that aren't Poppy? (Especially Wally and Home)
Rubs my little hands together
Ok so, as a human turned puppet thrown into a world of technicolor sentient puppets, you can’t blame em for being weirded out when your memories are wiped right? So I’ll go through a list!
Julie is a lot at first with her energetic personality and their super outgoing look on life. So slowly but surely, Charlie does get closer to Julie, and starts to enjoy being around him and such! She’s sweet and caring, and not to mention it’s kinda relaxing letting their hair get played with and listening to Julie ramble about all the things she likes.
Frank is a lot like Charlie, and not to mention seems to be kinda the only sane puppet there using logic and such. Plus, non-binary solidarity am I right gang? Despite Frank’s grouchy attitude, they’re both alike kinda and it’s kinda nice to listen to him talk about his insect collection and their butterflies. Plus, science baby.
Eddie is a sweetheart, and super welcoming towards Charlie. Keep in mind at first, Charlie’s put off by like everyone but Eddie’s kindness towards them is comforting ya know? That bit of sweet natured personality does put Charlie at ease, and makes them feel a bit more safe in the neighborhood. Plus, Eddie’s the only one that has a watch and connections to mail. Oooh is that a secret-? Who knows.
Barnaby is like Julie at first and well, Charlie is definitely terrified to see a giant dog with a pipe trying to crack jokes. So at first, yeah they’re kinda distant (not a dog person ) but with his laidback nature and a quirk for laughter, slowly but surely Charlie does warm up to him. Having the magic of laughter in a place of panic does wonders for someone so used to the cold cruel reality of life in the human world.
Howdy is a lot like Eddie and Barnaby combined in a way, although he’s a bit more calm and toned down when Charlie meets him. He’s nice towards Charlie, and welcoming, and maybe even offers Charlie a job for the time being? Who knows? Although the…four arms is a bit much for Charlie at first trying to comprehend everything at once. But don’t worry, the two are friendly!
Sally is a LOT too, kinda like Julie. With the theatrics and such, and trying to get Charlie in the next play, ya can’t blame em for being nervous. But don’t worry, the two are friendly too! In fact, Sally at some point makes Charlie open up and the two become great friends! Even pushing Charlie outta their shell to actually participate in plays.
And I know you said besides Poppy but I’m gonna add a bit of a snippet here. Poppy and Charlie have something in common: Anxiety. That’s a huge struggle for Charlie, something I personally struggle with and their downfall for the human world. Severe anxiety. And it can be crippling. But meeting Poppy, a mother like figure, someone who understands and knows, it’s like a safe haven. Someone Charlie can confide in, a mother. Someone they need. ( uh oh Is this…lore?!?!)
Now what you’re probably waiting for, give it up for the main attraction!
Home is definitely a big NOPE! a giant house that’s sentient, big ole eyes that watch you? Of course that’s terrifying to Charlie! You’d need to pay them to step foot in there, and something about Home…something familiar…
Something maybe even a bit nefarious.
And Wally Darling, the one everyone loves. Charlie stays away from Wally as much as they can. But he seems to always be…there. Somewhere. Almost everywhere. It’s like a distant memory is in Charlie’s head they can’t put a finger on, but something seems to pull them back and forth when it comes to Wally. And they don’t know how to explain it. But how far can you go from your best friend in a small neighborhood? Wally however is nice, kind, almost curious when it comes to Charlie, there seems to be no menace towards them. Or is there? Who knows?
But out of everyone…there seems to be a strain between the two. And fear is the ultimate downfall for some. Who knows…maybe Charlie is their own worst enemy…

Cartoon Network Friday Spotlight: The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show- “Putty in Her Hands”
I still think that The Flintstones is a good show and deserves its roses, but the lightning in a bottle that Hanna-Barbera struck over its six seasons (really the first four) never translated to their other works for the characters.
The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show was the first spin-off made of the characters, ending 5 years after the original series ended, and they had remained extremely marketable in the interim, with their still-in-print cereals released that year and similarly available vitamins the year earlier. But while Fred and Barney were still around in this series (as stated by the theme song), this is really about the teenage versions of their children, with Pebbles voiced by Sally Struthers of All in the Family fame, and Bamm-Bamm by Jay North, the once and forever Dennis the Menace. They’re both good in the roles, although they’re not very exciting. Pebbles has a little more personality, taking after her dad’s penchant for hair-brained schemes, but their friends have a little more shade in their characterizations, if a bit bland.
There isn’t much to the show as a comedy, which is an even more watered down sitcom than its predecessor. In this one, Pebbles is jealous of Cindy, her frienemy who vies for Bamm-Bamm’s attention, and her art skills, so when she’s offered free sculpting lessons, that’s a yabba-dabba-doozy of a coincidence. It turns out that the “art teacher” is a scammer who’s planning a heist and is using Pebbles as a distraction, but she doesn’t notice or really care until things get too late. Additionally, while she first asks Bamm-Bamm to model for her soon-to-be-prized sculpture, it breaks quickly and he agrees to briefly be stuck in clay for her, and you can guess how that goes.
Seeing HBO Max drop the back half of the original series has put me in a bit of a Flintstones mood, so I’ve been rediscovering various parts of the franchise. This doesn’t have much to offer, though, but I’m sure it still has its fans, and you can find it on the Boomerang app.

My opinion of RE4 Remake is that it’s pretty good. It had a lot to live up to since 4 is one of my all time favorites. Definitely better than the 3 remake. I have only a few gripes I’ll describe below the read more so spoilers ahead!
As a note on my Hunnigan portrayal, Sally Saffiotti will always be the voice of Hunnigan for me. Her new character model though is superb compared to her old one. A few things will stick with the original canon, nothing too major though.
SPOILERS
ICKS:
They made knife durability a thing and I hate it.
They took out a lot of Hunnigan’s cheeky dialogue like the “didn’t they teach you to pick locks” line or “finally the line’s jack free” and so on. I wish they’d kept that in. It made her feel more like a character instead of a stone monolith Leon just reports to.
Finally! After the fish fight Ingrid finally acts like she gives a shit. However, this would have been a wonderful spot for another Hunnigan cutscene imo. Maybe her trying to contact him is what helps wake him on the boat and then it’s all one neat tidy cutscene. Give Hunnigan more cutscenes CapCom.
Water graphics are bleh. I can see why people were complaining about the rain now. The RE engine isn’t great with water, but the amazing detail on everything else made it stand out.
The whole Salazar intercom system in the castle made no sense. How can he converse with a mumbling Leon through those brass tubes? It made way more sense in the original that he and Saddler hijacked Leon’s earpiece signal while jamming his connection to Hunnigan.
Wesker’s voice was bad. Big dislike. Didn’t sound menacing or Wesker-like in the least.
The end scene when Hunnigan comes through was…bad. Was it supposed to be comedic with him not answering and the whole antiquated “is this thing on” joke? Seems stupid if he wants to get Ashley home. It made zero sense. Also, no telling Hunnigan she’s kinda cute without her glasses? No asking for her number? Boo. Sad day.
PRAISES:
I like the direction they’ve taken with Luis in the remake. He seems way more complex and fleshed out. In the original, he really seemed like the comedic sidekick and nothing more.
Ashley’s AI is sooooo much better and more intuitive than the original. I also like that she’s less shrill and annoying while still sounding legit terrified. I get Ash was scared in the original but it was hard to have sympathy when she’s screaming every five seconds.
I do like that Leon & Hunnigan already have met before the game. The fact that a handler and field agent meet in the middle of a mission always seemed silly to me. I choose to believe Leon still told Hunnigan he thought she’d be older when they first met though. For the giggles.
The Leon v Mendez fight was amazing. Just as creepy as the old one. The one liners were *chef’s kiss*. Favorite one out of all the bosses. The centipede spine thing looks so much grosser (in the best way).
The Ashley and Leon heart to heart was very sweet. It’s interesting Leon says “you can’t run away, you have to move forward” given the mental shit, alcoholism and guilt he goes through later. Rules for thee but not for me, eh, Leon?
Luis’ final scene & the intro of Krauser were so much better than the original. And the Don Quixote references were great all throughout. Funny without being overt. Very good. Once again, this Luis is better than the original imo.
Leon’s little lip quiver after the Krauser fight! My poor baby boy! Let me give you hugs! Such a good detail. Leon’s character model in general is just amazing. I just miss the tiddy strap :/

Ok the brain goblin is going crazy. I might actually write this but for now little ideas I have:
Percy would obviously be the captain.
(Fun fact most pirates were Democrats. Captains, Quartermasters and First and second mates were elected positions with candidates being the best person in the skills needed at sea, modern media has the pirate captain rule over his ship using fear but that was often not the case)
Percy is obviously the best at sea and I can see everyone voting for him more those reasons and even for things like his leadership and charisma. The Captain is also normally the person with the most experience.
I love the idea of him almost growing up at sea with Sally (in my pirate world the pirates aren’t sexist ok guys) and then maybe Sally is forced to give up pirating (probs because of stupid Gabe, dont worry if i chose to include him he will die a wonderful death) and Percy somehow gets back into it.
I got this idea in my head of Hazel being the sweet innocent girl she is but also an absolute menace. Her job is to keep track of inventory and rations, but she is also the ultimate pillager, her ability to steal precious metals is almost magical lol. She would also handle the magic artifacts.
Hazel is kinda getting child of Hermes traits in this lol becuase i want them to get back to the ship after having to flee port quickly without grabbing rations or whatever and everyone is like mother fucker, we didnt get anything and hazel’s like 😏 and they are all like dude and she just dumps out a ridiculous amount of jewels and jewelry, while keeping that “what, i didn’t do anything” kinda look on her face.
Leo is obviously the Carpenter as well as just the overall repair man. He’s also the cook. (Vegan tacos for the win lol)
Piper is the main lookout and works lots with the sails and rigging. She is also very convincing (idk if she has full charmspeak in this since everyone’s powers will be kinda different but she has learned how to manipulate high society people during her time there) She also flirts with all the women when they dock lol.
I picture Leo and Piper growing up childhood besties on land. Piper being from a noble family and Leo’s mom working as a maid or something for Pipers family (because high society still hates women, because high society is run by evil men) but she obviously teaches Leo everything he knows. Leo’s mom dies and Piper over hears her tutors trying to convince her dad to marry her off to someone, so they decide to run away. They somehow meet Percy and join the crew. Also they are both gay because Piper is literally gay in the canon and I have a Valgrace agenda to attend too.
I like the idea of Frank being the Quartermaster (which fun fact Quartermasters are the real right hands to the captains and the first mates are actually below the quartermaster) Frank is a good leader especially once he gains confidence and he is very loyal and I feel like everyone would highly respect him (minus Leo but that’s just Leo being Leo lol) and so I feel like the crew would vote him for the position. I like the idea of Franks mom being a friend of Sally’s and her taking him in when she dies.
Will is the crews surgeon (i know it was semi uncommon for ships in have a surgeon but I don’t care its my pirate world and i do what i want!)
Nico isn’t a permanent member of the crew (until a certain blonde medic convinces him to stay) and he has beef with Percy (cough his pancake sister cough) but also secretly likes being on the ship with everyone.
Now you may be wondering “dude why haven’t you talked about Annabeth or Jason yet?” Well that’s because I’ve decided that they grew up noble (and stayed that way) until the crew of the Argo II kidnaps them lol.
Jason is the son of a very high society noble family. He always had an intrest in the seas but from afar. He is all about impressing his father. He rarely thinks for himself as his main goal is living up to his shity dad’s unattainable expectations of him. Jason is a skilled marksman but on land it is mostly for sport.
Annabeth is apart of higher society but mainly because her father is the head of the royal guard that serves Jason’s family. As part of an agreement Annabeth is allowed to sit in at Jason’s schooling (private tutoring) as long as she keeps to herself. As she gets older they deem it unladylike like so Jason shares what he learns with her in his limited spare time. (She often ends up helping Jason understand it lol) They become close friends from childhood.
Annabeth wants nothing more then to prove herself for what she’s actually worth, not just as a future wife and mother (the things a women is expected to be). She’s the smartest person in every room and she knows it. She hears about a mythical treasure (because women where supposed to be silent she got good at hearing all the insane stuff Jason’s father is dealing in) and she starts to study everything about it and more specifically navigation using astronomy while at sea. Annabeth gets Jason to ask his tutors any questions that she has. So word kinda gets out that this nobleman’s son is asking all the right questions, Percy finds this out and they go and kidnap Jason. Annabeth stows away on the ship, she’s convinced that if she can rescue Jason that people will take her seriously and she will accepted for who she is.
Of course Percy starts demanding that Jason leads them to the artifact and Jason is just kinda clueless and in a moment true to her hubris Annabeth reveals herself from her hiding spot to yell at them about assuming that work was done by a man and stuff like that. Annabeth realizing her mistake in jumping out of her hiding spot and revealing that she knows the info pretty fast lol. So anyways Percy demands that Annabeth guide them, using Jason as leverage. If she misleads them they will kill Jason. Annabeth who doesn’t want her friend to die and has an agenda agrees (after some push back and escape attempts lol)
But soon Annabeth realizes the other females of the crew and how they are just as respected and she starts to love being a pirate (at the end choosing to stay a pirate) and obviously PERCABETH!!!
Jason on the other hand is more of a prisoner and is stuck in the barrocks for the first bit and who has a work desk right by the barrocks? LEO VALDEZ so obviously they grow closer and Jason who has always just gone with what his father said never really considered he could be gay until he’s like oh shit im crushing on Leo. Theres obviously some identity crisis and stuff but once the crew trusts Jason (and Annabeth) more they are given more freedom. Jason during an ambush save the crew with his great marksmanship and it’s definitely a turning point for his character as he deals with all that. He also acts as the moral compass for the crew, and Leo (who has a bad habit of blowing things up)
Anyways would people actually read this if i wrote it?
EDIT: Chapter 1 is up!!

Okay I think I’ve got the list. I’ll elaborate if wanted but here’s what I think. Also 🦊, I’m so flattered, thank you so much. I definitely try my best so I’m happy it’s being recognized!
- Sonic (Angel, feel like we all already agree with that)
- Tails (Angel, just can see it)
- Knuckles (Fallen, he was made to protect the master emerald and became too aggressive and possessive of it so he was banished)
- Amy (Fallen, she loved humans too much and willingly left to live among mortals and fall inlove)
- Cream (Angel, again can just see it)
- Big (Angel, honestly I’m not 100% sure but this felt the best)
- Blaze (Demon, not because of her powers but I can imagine her as demon royalty who is mostly calm and collected but is absolutely dangerous if provoked)
- Silver (Fallen, meant to protect the hero who would keep the future safe but failed so the future is ruined. He was banished but told if he somehow stopped the current future he would be allowed his wings back)
- Espio (Demon, he’s noble sure but he’s still an assassin. The best in fact, can even kill high rank angels)
- Victor (Demon, he’s like the best hustler and knows how to hunt people down like a blood hound. But the scariest demon makes the best dad to little demons)
- Charmy (Demon, he’s just a little mischievous. He’s when your alarm doesn’t ring and your missing your keys. A little menace)
- Shadow (Fallen, come on. He loved the world and his best friend, but when she was murdered he grew vicious and heartless. He believes he can’t love anyone or anything again)
- Rouge (Demon, this just felt like the right fit. She’s the greed people feel when the push in all their chips at the casino even if the cards in their hand is bad)
- E-123 Omega (Jokes on you, he doesn’t have a soul, at least not like the others 😈)
- Babylon Rogues (Fallen, they all were best friends in heaven, the gave people the love to explore but when Jet was banished for becoming too selfish the others left with him and now find lost treasure together on earth)
- TC anon, okay this is part 1! I have more characters I want to do but I didn’t want this too long. If you think differently that’s also 100% cool and am interested to see what you think and why. Also again if you want more details on the backstories let me know and I’ll go into more detail. Hope you enjoy, see ya in a bit!
more under the cut!
"Here’s part 2 y’all!
- Mighty (Angel, he’s so sweet and protective. A guardian Angel in his core!)
- Sally and other freedom fighters (Angels, they all are protectors of earth too. Kinda like a valkyrie of heaven.)
- Scourge (Fallen, him and Sonic were twins but when Sonic kept getting rewarded for his good work Scourge got so jealous he tried to kill him. Of course he was banished into hell instead of earth and he absolutely tells everyone he was hell born instead)
- Sonia (Angel, high rank angel really. She’s super responsible and keeps everything moving)
- Manic (Fallen, he was lazy and didn’t care much for his duties so when he was kicked out he didn’t care too much. Of course he misses his sibs but they still talk)
- Tangle (Angel, she’s a brand new baby Angel. She’s so sweet and trying her best)
- Whisper (Demon, again assassin but is slowly becoming better due to being so close to Tangle)
- Sticks (Demon, in the same boat as Charmy I feel. More mischievous than evil)
- Surge (Demon, she believes that she can take Sonic’s wings and Halo by force and become just as loved as he is)
- Kistuname (Fallen, I can see him as a good kid. A good kid who just admired the wrong person and was influenced to help her. Helping out a demon is a no-no unless they are trying to reform. And surge is not)
- Eggman (Demon, kinda obvious)
- Infinite (Demon, a poor soul that when he saw his friends, his family really, die, his rage made him into a dangerous demon)
- Starline (Fallen, he inspired many for growing academically and was assigned to study demons so when the inevitable war against heaven and hell they can know what to do. But he became obsessed with Eggman and became more cruel and vicious so he was kicked out)
- TC anon (that’s everyone I could think of. Hope you enjoyed it! If you got other thoughts, I’d love to hear about them!)"
I NEED TO HEAR MORE ABOUT KNUCKLES AND SILVER... the takes on them being fallen angels is super intriguing to me, i can definitely see that you've thought of all this and have some worldbuilding lore present so i'm really curious!!
honestly i absolutely adore amy's—having her want to live among the mortals she loves so much in hopes she can find true love is just like her!
i can't say i disagree with anyone here tbh~ i'd like to learn more about shadow and why you think he'd be a fallen angel! (^q^) i'm so into this////
(and i'm sorry for the belated reply, tc!! :'( thanks so much for sharing hehehe)

Date: Jean Havoc x Reader (w/ Big Brother Roy Mustang)
REQUESTED
-PRETEND ROY IS YOUNGER FOR THE SAKE OF THIS ONE-SHOT (say, like 20-ish) -sorry this took so long. I had an internship and it got a little crazy
-idc about the timeline because this is a one-shot and i’m not gonna use my big brain lmaooo
Summary: Overprotective Roy? Yes. You’re dating Jean Havoc and your bro watches your first date from the shadows.
Nervous. That was the first emotion you felt when you stepped out of the front door. Today was a big day, maybe more so than you’d like to believe. The sun shimmered overhead, where the sparse clouds drifted lazily across the sky. “Bye, Roy,” you called. “I’ll be back around sixteen o’clock.”
Roy was your elder brother by four years. If a guard dog had a human personification, it would definitely be him. For all your life, he wrote himself off as the responsible sibling. He acted like his grades were better than yours, like he was the one to take out the trash, or finish all the dishes before cockroaches decided to make home in them.
Anyone would have thought that to be true. After all, Roy was young and rose up the military ranks at an alarming rate. But you knew better, along with his close colleagues. Roy was stupid, overprotective, and impulsive. He would do anything that interested him, and if it didn’t, he’d pay no mind to it.
You prayed your brother would pay no mind today.
The front door slammed open with a creak. “Where do you think you’re going?” Roy inquired. He squinted at you as if you were about to do something stupid. “And what are you wearing? I hope you have shorts under that.” You rolled your eyes and adjusted the purse slung over your shoulder.
This sun dress was a gift from Jean for your (age) birthday. The skirt flowed in the passing breezes like a flower, illuminating all the vibrant colours under the rays of sun. It was a beautiful dress. If Roy thought otherwise, you’d make him understand. “It’s called a dress, doofus.” you sarcastically replied. “Not like you’d know when you only see Riza in the Command Centre. Poor you. Haven’t gotten the chance to see her in a skirt, huh?”
Roy averted his gaze to the sky with a haughty huff. “What are you talking about? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” Heat rose up his cheeks. “If you’re implying I harbour romantic feelings for my First Lieutenant, then you’re--”
“A hundred percent correct.” you stated with a smug smirk. “I’ll be back around sixteen o’clock. Don’t burn down the house.” If Roy accidently did, you wouldn’t be surprised. He was the Flame Alchemist, and above all, your stupid big brother.
“Where are you going (Y/n)?” Roy called. You flung your hair over your shoulder with a bright smile that could have blinded even the sun. “A date, of course.” Okay, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to rub salt in a wound. What Roy didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him. But then you saw look on his face. Nevermind, it was totally worth it to rub in his face: jaw agape, eyes as wide as saucers, and shoulders hunched down.
Ah, it was good to be you.
The city bustled with life. With the sun shining, and the beauty of living in your palms, you trotted down the street. There was nothing that could ruin your date.
"Jean!" Your tone was light as a laugh escaped your lips. "It feels like I haven't seen you in a while."
Cherry red dusted his cheeks. He stuffed the unlit cigarette into his pocket and offered you a hand. In his other, he placed a single (f/c) flower between your hairclips. "I saw you yesterday," he said with a bashful smile. "What do you mean it's been a while?" You bumped shoulders playfully and intertwined your fingers together. "Hyperbole, Jean."
"Well, it's one hyperbole too many." He remarked with a grin. "Do you want to have sandwiches today or a hot meal?" You shrugged, leaning against his shoulder. It was comfortable to have him hold you like this as you made your way down the street. He always had this secure way of linking your arms with his.
Off to the side, Roy couldn't say the same. It wasn’t like he planned on following you. Curiosity just swept him out of the house. And besides, what you didn’t know, wouldn’t hurt, right? Right.
Roy wished Jean didn’t hold you like you were some stuffed animal. For all he knew, Jean was just playing you. It wouldn't be the first when he had over fifteen other girls in the past four months. If Jean broke your heart, he'd be sure to fry the man up to a crisp. "Damn him," Roy grumbled. He pulled down his fedora and adjusted the glasses over his nose. "What makes him think he can touch (Y/n) like that?"
You suddenly laughed loudly at some joke. “Stop!” you cried, playfully smacking his arm. “That’s the worst one I’ve heard all week!”
Roy slinked out of the shadows with a low huff. He shouldn't have worn such a thick jacket. It had to be over twenty something degrees today. But that was no matter because you were being whisked away to the park--by Jean! Roy hurried down the street. Since when did you get lunch? And what was Jean going to do to you?
"The park's a good place." you noted. “Let’s go there.” The bag from Sally's Sandwiches hung from Jean's arm. It swung back and forth as he happily pranced along the street with you hand in hand. "Good thing I remembered to bring a blanket this time. We can sit under that tree."
Oh, what was Jean going to do to you? Roy couldn't stand the thought of you walking with him like that. There had to be an ulterior motive to this 'date'. Maybe Jean wanted to leech off you for money, or maybe he would try seducing you in the park? Roy shook his head. No, no.
Jean wasn't a bad guy. Maybe Roy was thinking too far ahead. But what if he wasn’t? What if Jean pulled some sneaky plan?
You crossed the street just as a car wildly swerved. Its tires screeched against the road like nails on a chalkboard, grinding against stone until it came your way. Roy frantically popped out of his hiding space. "What kind of idiot would--"
Suddenly, you slammed a hand into the ground. The stone transmuted, blocking the car from any unnecessary collisions. It smacked straight into the wall, smoke and steam rising from its engine. "(Y/n)!" cried Jean. "Are you okay?" He frantically placed a hand on either of your shoulders and looked you up and down. A smile rose to your lips. "I'm fine. Not even a scratch."
A sigh escaped Jean's lips. "That's good. I don't know what I'd do if you got hurt." You placed a gentle hand to his cheek and pecked it (Roy wanted to gag). "I'm an Alchemist. It'd be a shame if I went down by a car."
"Don't joke about that," Jean chastised. He hooked his arm with yours again and led you away from the screeching onlookers and police. "I don't know what I'd do if I lost you."
Roy blinked. Did he hear Jean right? 'I don't know what I'd do if I lost you'? What was that supposed to mean? “Look at them, being all lovey-dovey...” Roy continued after the couple. They passed through a field of forest green grass, where flowers bloomed in straight, uniform lines all around. It was a beautiful spot to have a picnic.
You swung your arm, hand in hand with Jean. The sun kissed your heads from the Heaven’s, illuminating a bright happiness Roy couldn’t look away from. Urgh. He wanted to kick something, or better yet, set a tree on fire. How could you two look so perfect? You were only (age) and that was far too young to be dating.
Besides, you had a career in the military. If your little ‘relationship’ was sealed with a ring, you’d be separated. “Did they even think that through?” Roy grumbled to himself. He gritted his teeth together and ducked behind a bush.
“Excuse me sir.”
Roy glanced over his shoulder with a false smile. “Ah, what is it?” A little boy ball up and down in his hand. The glare on his face could have been intimidating, but Roy was Roy Mustang. He wouldn’t let some kid look down upon him. “Are you lost?”
The kid clutched the rock so tightly his knuckles turned white. “My mama said to watch out for creepy people. I think you fit well, Mr. Pervert.” He took a step back and launched the ball at Roy’s head. “Take that!”
“What are you talking about?!” Roy exclaimed. He jumped out of the bushes and brushed the leaves from his jacket. Boy, it was getting terribly hot in the sweltering heat. Poor Roy found himself losing what little patience remained. “I’m not a creep, kid! Where are your parents? If I was a creep, you would have been kidnapped already. I’m just trying to make sure my sister...!”
At that very second, you so happened to come to a stop. At that very second, you so happened to stare. At that very second, you so happened to recognise a face among strangers.
Roy was royally screwed.
The little kid pointed at Roy as if he were the most wanted criminal in all of Amestris. “Lady!” he screeched. “I saw this guy watching you since you got here! He’s a creep! Call the cops!” Jean squinted at Roy. At first, he actually believed the kid was telling the truth. What kind of normal person wore a winter coat, a fedora, and a pair of sunglasses if not to deal drugs in the alleyways?
“Hold up...” Jean blinked owlishly. “Colonel, is that you?!”
You released Jean’s arm. “Oh, it’s him alright.” A menacing glare rose to your face as you cracked your knuckles. What was Roy supposed to do? The wrath of his sister was not something he could brace himself for, especially when she could be just as impulsive as Edward Elric.
Roy waved his arms in denial. “I don’t know what that kid’s talking about. I just happened to pass by, and in the process, I ended up dropping my wallet, which turned out to be in the bushes, so--”
“Save it.” You cracked your knuckles and pulled on a glove. “It’s time to crank up the heat, because we’re having fried Alchemist tonight.”
Anger. That was the only emotion you felt as you chased your big brother around the park. Today was supposed to be a big day. You planned to walk around, maybe go shopping, and spend the night wandering around with Jean for a whole day. But no. Your stupid, idiotic, big brother had to be the creepy party crasher.
