Snoqualmie Falls - February 26, 2024
A morning view of Snoqualmie Falls in Snoqualmie, Washington on February 26, 2024. This video was captured short after having breakfast in The Restaurant at Salish Lodge & Spa. The Snoqualmie River was running strong that morning due to the snow that had fallen in the region the night before.

Both chefs fired up for an in-house cook-off. Our chefs have 30 minutes to turn a box of mystery ingredients into a delicious dish. Plus, a secret ingredient that our chefs MUST use.
Justin Lee, the Executive Chef at Snoqualmie Casino, brings a ton of experience and confidence. While Tristan Chalker, the Director of Food & Beverage at Salish Lodge & Spa, has true grit and creativity in the kitchen.

The Road to the Rockies - Leavenworth, WA (part.2)
Avec un petit déjeûner très léger dans le ventre, un arrêt ravitaillement s’impose au Salish Lodge & Spa en plein cœur du parc national de Snoqualmie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pour éliminer tout ça, une marche plus que nécessaire au pied des chutes Snoqualmie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

In 2019 I visited Seattle from the UK, looking to visit Twin Peaks filming locations. Neither my girlfriend nor I can drive and I could see no mention on the net of anyone using public transport to make the trip...
So here's a rough guide to Twin Peaks on Foot:
First off - this did involve a ton of walking, so do make sure to pack supplies and wear some decent walking shoes.
Below is a map of the route we took starting from the Salish Lodge & Spa:
https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1Y8OAKw5LqC2YCB-wOEbIKeYBBr3GoJhl&hl=en&usp=sharing

Seattle 10:00AM:
We caught the Mount Si 'Trailhead' bus from 'Capitol Hill' to North Bend which took only a short while and dropped us off metres away from Twede’s Cafe. This bus route is seasonal (April-October) but you can find more info at the below address:
https://trailheaddirect.org/mountsi/
It is possible to make your way using various other bus routes but none are as direct.
Tumblr media
The Double R Diner 11:00AM:
I’m no food blogger so I won't go into details about the grub and I think the place is under new management since our visit with vegan options and stuff.
The coffee was just fine.
The cafe walls look like they’ve been left as is from the most recent series with advertised specials and wooden panels. Merch was also available at the cafe including this book of matches.
Opposite the Cafe and next to the Bank of America is the second bus you'll want to catch...
Bus 208 from Bendigo Blvd N & W 2nd St and get off at Snoqualmie Pkwy & Railroad Ave SE.
Tumblr media
The Great Northern 12:30PM:
From here you should be able to see the bridge on RailRoad Ave, make your way over it and follow the river towards the falls. Don't waste valuable Twin Peaks time visiting the historical information centre, it's lovely and run by very nice people but nothing Lynchian to be found.
It goes without saying that the waterfall is brill and there are a good number of viewing platforms. There's also a trail that snakes down towards the foot of the waterfall, it takes some time but is well worth the effort.
Before leaving, raid that gift shop and stock up on some quality tatt. There's also some tables around the back of the Starbucks which makes a good spot to take minute.
When you're ready, snap some shots of the hotel entrance and walk back towards Snoqualmie and Railroad Ave.
Tumblr media
Twin Peaks 02:30PM:
On the right hand side of the road you'll see old train carriages and tracks. Follow these train tracks into town and soon you'll pass that big LOG from the titles.
It's no longer open to the elements like in the show but there is a pretty viewing bench.
Keep on the path following the tracks and pass the famous gazebo from the pilots deleted scene.
Tumblr media
Fat Trout Trailer Park/Meadowbrook Bridge/Mo's Motor 3:30PM:
At the train museum are some public toilets and picnic areas but nothing Twin Peaks related. The route to the next spot requires us to cross the road heading down SE River Street onto Park Ave Street and then to SE Park Street. Just before we get to the crossroad of SE Park St & Meadowbrook Way SE, notice the large field to your left where once lived the location for the Fat Trout Trailer Park.
Tumblr media
Ronnets Bridge/Sparkwoord & 21 4:30PM:
It's possible to save some time by taking the bridge north on Meadowbrook Way SE to get to the next location, but we didn't want to be walking on a main road any more than we had to.
So taking the scenic route to Ronnets Bridge we walked on down SE Park St and took a left into 'Three Forks Off-Leash Dog Park' and up the 'Snoqualmie Valley Trail'. But as you can see on the map, this does add some time to your journey. If you're short on time I advise you take the walk on 'SE Reinig Rd'.
Once across the bridge, make sure not to miss Sparkwood & 21 (396th Dr SE meets SE Reinig Rd)
Tumblr media
Twin Peaks Sign 5:00PM:
It's from here that visiting Twin Peaks on foot hits a snag - we are only 20mins walk to the Sheriff's Station and viewing Packard Mill, but on this particular trip we had run short on time and viewing the road up to the Mill looked quite unfriendly to walkers on Google Maps.
Continue down SE Reinig Rd towards the 'Welcome to Twin Peaks' sign. The road side is wide enough for single file, and at points two abreast, and traffic wasn't heavy on the Saturday we visited.
Tumblr media
After visiting the sign it's a trek back to North Bend on SE Reinig Rd, then left on 428th Ave SE and right on SE 102nd St. Taking us at least an hour to travel the 3.5 miles. Be mindful of the yard dogs and maybe cross the road at the corner of (9613 428th Ave SE, North Bend, WA 98045, USA) - one almost took us out. And keep up a quick pace as you need to catch the bus home.
But the walk is worth the effort as it takes you past some great views of Mount Si.
On our visit we made the 06:20PM bus from the stop at 331 W North Bend Way with a few mins to spare.
