Similarities between two high school romcom animes: Toradora and More than a Married Couple, but Not Lovers
1. Main boy loves girl. Main girl loves boy.
2. Both wind up being roped in each others business and end up helping each other out with their crushes.
3. Both wind up in scenarios where they have the chance to flirt with their crush, but slowly start to realize they are starting to fall for each other.
4. Main guy’s crush has a crush on him too, but Main girl’s boy doesn’t reciprocate her feelings.
5. To some degree, the idea of marriage is involved in both their relationships.

🧑❤️👩 More than a married couple, but not lovers Review! 💍
Hello! This is a new anime review! In this one, I'll be talking about More than a married couple, but not lovers, a cute romcom!
This anime is very recent, as it aired in the Fall of 2022. It is a romcom in a school setting with twelve episodes. Will it have a second season...? I couldn't say, but as you'll see, I hope so.
From the first few minutes of the first episode, I thought this anime would be a new Toradora! At first, I thought it would be a cheap copy, but it ended up getting good with time! I still think they took inspiration there, but it managed to get its own identity.
First off, the plot. Well, it's simple, and the main reason I thought it was similar to Toradora! at first. However, it took a turn for the original near the end, which was pretty frustrating to me. It feels unfinished, which is why I hope we get a sequel.
This anime relies heavily on the main cast to shine as a romcom. Well, I quite enjoyed the leading duo (Jirou & Akari), but (and this will be unpopular) not so much when it comes to the third MC, Shiori. Still, they're good enough overall.
The side cast is forgettable, although funny when they're on screen. Not too much of the plot relies on them (save for one), but they make do with the screen time they get.
Good character development and dynamics, definitely. It made Toradora's strength, and it's the same here. Character growth is done well and serves the anime as a whole. It peaks in the second-to-last episode.
Visually, this anime is highly colorful! The art style is easily recognizable - and honestly, very pretty! It's not a typical color palette, but it was a good decision by studio MOTHER, which worked on this anime.
Musically, this anime has a great opening, a decent ending, and some overall good tracks. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but there were a couple of occasions when the music clearly improved its given scene. If anything, it's discreet enough.
Overall, More than a married couple, but not lovers is definitely worth watching if you're into romcoms. It's cute, has some lovely moments, and makes for a fun, relaxing time.
Down below is the tierlist for the characters in this anime! Thank you for reading this review!

Weird & Wonderful Wednesday
I don’t think that I realised that Edge of Tomorrow (the movie) was based on a book. This is that book.
Alien Mimics invade Earth, and Keiji is recruited to wear a ‘Jacket’ (the name for the armour that they’re wearing) and kill these mimics. Keiji dies on the battlefield. Except, he doesn’t, because every morning he is reborn to fight and die again and again and again. Until he gets a message from someone known as the Full Metal Bitch, will she be a way out of the cycle for Keiji.
I had seen the movie, but, honestly, (wait for it… and keep in mind I am a librarian), the book was better. I didn’t really realise when it was written, and so, while I was reading it sorta felt a lot like a lot of the Sci Fi that I read in my more youthful times. And, come to find out, it was actually written in 2004, more youthful times. Such a great read.
You may like this book If you Liked: Bokurano: Ours by Mohiro Kito, Mobile Suit Gundam by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, or Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Vol. 10 by Negi Haruba
