#Saitama with egg face

Just read your Saitama cape post and wanted to tell you it was great and spot on!! Also wanted to add that when Saitama first saw the hole in his cape, his first thought was for Genos to fix it and sticking to the cape is Saitama's hope metaphor... only Genos would've been able to fix it. No Genos, no cape, no hope. I'm sick and rambling so I hope this made sense?

!!! Oh my gosh!!! You're right!!! And Genos was thinking about the same thing, like he almost had a second sense that something was wrong, like him and Saitama/his mental state were already really intimately linked......

And the only reason Saitama's cape got a hole in it in the first place was because he wasn't being careful with it, insisting on putting it *back* on while on a speeding rail car where it was fluttering around and getting in everyone's face. The only reason he'd want to wear is was for its symbolic and sentimental value. And even after it had been punched straight through the middle, he kept wearing the scraps until they were forcibly removed from him.....

It's not the first time we've seen the suit recognized as something deeply important to Saitama, directly beside Genos--who also recognized that and offered to give him something as a replacement for it.

We've seen Genos tending to the suit when he brought it back from the laundry too.... Even though it's Saitama's, he takes care of it just as much as he does the man it belongs to--and given how much it means to Saitama and how upset he gets when it's messed up, I feel like it says a LOT that he'd be willing to let someone else clean it, let alone do material repairs on it....and on top of that, think of that someone immediately upon realizing he needed help.

((I feel like it's related and that I should mention it--when Genos gets the key to the apartment, he holds it the same way that Saitama holds his core. That the giraffe has a suspiciously similar color theme to Saitama in his suit doesn't seem like a coincidence. When Saitama keeps to himself so much, giving Genos a key to his home is essentially saying, "Here, I'm letting you into my life, I trust you with this." It's not carrying someone else's physical heart in your hand, but...i mean that's pretty fuckin' close // ))

could I request Saitama, Genos, and Garou with a fem playful/bratty reader? Someone who sort of likes to poke fun at them and give them a hard time/be difficult just to get a reaction out of them (sometimes by being stubborn, sometimes by being really flirty 👀)

Saitama

- Going off how he reacts to someone like Tatsumaki, he likely wouldn't take you that seriously if you were giving him a hard time for the hell of it. Nothing against you it's just his unbothered attitude he holds for life

-It doesn't mean he isn't listening, though. It can amuse him if you go the extra mile just to be difficult. Or annoying if he's having a bad day, but it takes a lot of inconveniences in his day to where he actually gets a bit irritated

- When he's on his last straw he'll just start silently bugging you. He won't say anything as he starts poking you or messing with you and your things as a diversion.

- If you're being flirty instead of bull-headed, he's got a look he gives you. Like he's trying to look unamused and isn't convincing enough. The more you push it, the more shades of red layer on his face. He can't get used to it, or much bothered by it.

Genos

- Least bothered of the three. Couldn't get any sort of annoyed reaction if that's what you're looking for, but confusion might be one occasionally.

-Your dedication to being stubborn intrigues him as it can come off as unnecessary in his eyes. If there's something you want, he'd just give it to you if you ask straight up, typically.

- Far from arguing against it though. Even if he doesn't understand it, sometimes it's what makes you out to be the person he loves, so he will entertain your playful nature.

- Be careful with how much you want to be flirty, as if you say something just a bit too specific he'll just proceed to carry out the hint you drop as he registers it as just a request. Ain't that what you want though? ;D

Garou

- If you can take up this man in making the attitude a competition, may the odds be in your favor 😭

- Most of the time, he can give it right back to you. You poking fun at him, he's getting his lick in too. Wanna be difficult? Answer to him also being difficult. Whether it's fighting your fire with his fire or he'll catch you the second you're a fool enough to be his peace for a minute

- Being like that could get you on each other's nerves or not really at all, though the latter is more likely. He's all for the playful nature you have. Doesn't make him feel not a damn bit bad either for when he's matching your energy

- Loves it when the bantering gets into flirty territory. Eggs you on to just keep at it. Asks you to elaborate on what you mean with a smug grin on his face. He knows what you're getting at, though. It's entertaining trying to see how your brattiness is in making you use your words

Why didn't Saitama tell Genos that he doesn't actually pay rent and let him think that he does? You could say it was to keep the money, but it was confirmed that he didn't even touch it.

In my opinion, it comes down to simple awkwardness. :P Bc to Saitama, that gesture was such a huge offer, an amount of something even he'd never earn for himself one day, that it would've been so...awkward and rude (from Saitama's humble consideration on etiquette) to refuse that offering to Genos' face. The type of thing that gets....awkwarder the more Saitama (anxiously) keeps the actual truth locked away. Over time, it builds...like 'how can Saitama ever dare to use that' (would feel so shameful), but doubly shameful for him to ever admit the truth to Genos too. :'D Awkward suffering egg (who still wants to remain self-reliant), just think about it from his frugal shoes.

One punch cat!

As Sonic crouched in the shadows he could hardly contain the grin stretching across his face. Today was the day... After a month of training his body and mind, after refining every last weapon at his disposal, after all the blood sweat, and tears, he was ready. Today, Saitama would die!

Currently, the ninja was right outside the egg-heads apartment, waiting for the other man to arrive home. He didn't even need to worry about the cyborg getting in his way because the teen was out until later tonight. Everything was going his way for once.

After a few more minutes of waiting, a familiar bald head came into view. Sonic licked the sweat off his lip as he readied his sword and prepared to jump.

"Sonic, is that you?"

Sonic froze. Saitama had sensed him already!? How the hell did the baldy even know it was him!?

"Come on out if you want a treat."

If the ninja's jaw wasn't clenched like a pissed-off clam it would have dropped. What the hell was Saitama doing!? If this was some new tactic to throw the ninja off his rhythm, congrats it worked!

Sonic, still baffled by the whole thing, watched as Saitama reached into one of his shopping bags and pulled out a can of something. As the sound of the opening can hit Sonic's ears a black blur shot out from one of the alleyways.

"MEOW!"

"Alright, alright, no need to yell at me."

The hero placed the food in front of the scrappy-looking cat, who swiped at the man's hands with a hiss before stuffing its face.

"Feisty today, aren't ya Sonic?"

This time the ninja's jaw did drop.

"SAITAMA!"

Sonic jumped from his hiding place and slashed his sword. A second later he was on his back with his weapon in pieces.

Saitama looked at him with that same infuriatingly, uninterested expression. "Oh, hey Sonic. Haven't seen you in a while."

"What the hell-explain yourself Saitama!" Sonic hollered, pointing the handle of his shattered sword at the hero.

"Explain myself?" Saitama trailed off looking confused.

Sonic gestured angrily at the cat who was finished with its food and cleaning its face.

"Ooooooh, you mean the cat?"

Saitama reached down to pet the feline with an amused smile on his face.

"It shows up every once in a while to hiss at me until I give it food." Saitama looked up, smile turning a bit smug, "It reminded me of you so I started calling it Sonic."

"You-you!" Sonic couldn't even find the words he wanted to say.

"I mean, just look," the hero scooped up Sonic the cat and held it out towards the original Sonic, "you're practically twins."

The black cat had a mean-looking face with a slightly mangled ear. Even the most passionate cat lovers would call it ugly. It hissed at the ninja before jumping out of Saitama's hands and running away.

"Aw, you scared it."

"YOU'RE DEAD!"

Enraged beyond belief, Sonic attacked. He punched and kicked and stabbed but the hero dodged every strick.

"Aw man, I feel kinda bad fighting you now. It feels like animal abuse in a way."

This only made the ninja madder. He charged at the hero with a flurry of more kicks and punches. He might have even destroyed a building in his rage.

Unfortunately for Sonic, all that anger made him sloppy. Before Sonic even knew what was happening Saitama had grabbed him by the back of the shirt, dangling him in the air, and delivered a gentle but firm poke to the back of the head. Sonic was out like a light.

For the first time ever, Saitama felt a bit bad for knocking Sonic unconscious. Sure, the guy was a villain, but now all he could see was an annoying cat.

"Well, I guess the least I can do is feed him like Cat-Sonic."

Saitama lifted the boy onto his shoulder and headed inside.

"I'll text Genos and tell him we're having a guest tonight."

Ok, I just wanna mention this. I absolutely adore how Saitama looks during those classic and badass serious moments of his with his gaze so fierce and him coming off as a handsome beast 😍😤😤😤

But there’s also something very charming about the way he looks when drawn in a serious art style but with his features being more relaxed and calmer than usual in those moments with a certain warmth in his eyes. Like I cannot help but be lost in his essence here and also his eyes (!!!) , so gorgeous!! That moment when you truly get to see what Saitama would actually look like on a usual basis, ignoring the gag about him looking like he’s on a different plane compared to the rest. I really wish there were more instances of him drawn in a serious style with more relaxed expressions. It’s a very subtle change but I can’t have enough of it! (>/////<) I wish Murata would draw him more often like that in future…

Bonus: This is the handsomest I’ve ever seen him with his normal face!!! AAAHHH HIS SMILE!!! (❤️w❤️)

Looking back at that extra chapter where Saitama was still training and lost a teeth with a cavity, I can't be the only one who thinks it was a metaphor of him removing his limiter

There was definitely an implied threshold (of pain/power) breached and crossed there, especially with Saitama's instant relief and transition into his familiar classic 'egg face'......and why the similar scene of Garou spitting out a tooth too becomes a parallel on their dual character + pursuit of power trajectories~

Saitama had left to go get more groceries

You had thought of escaping on a whim (which wasn’t a good idea in the first place) so you begged him to get you more tea from the store

The sweet egg boi obliged, humming as he left the house

It was odd the Genos wasn’t around as soon as Saitama left

He was usually sitting close by, or at the very least he was always in the house

You decided to take this stroke of luck as a sign that you needed to leave, so you did

You keep your eyes peeled for Genos as you make your way to the front door

You got Saitama to trust you enough to the point where you didn’t need restraints, so nothing like that needed to be dealt with

Your heart was nearly breaking through your ribs as soon as your hand grasped the doorknob and turned it

Unfortunately, it was never going to be that easy.

Genos stood on the other side, his arms crossed and his eyes glinting

“H-Hi, Genos!!” You squeaked, slowly backing up into the apartment

He didn’t speak a word as he descended on you, grabbing your biceps and throwing you into the chair that you were once tied to 24/7

You attempted to reason with the cyborg, but you knew deep down that he would not betray his Sensei’s orders over your begging

As soon as you were secured by duct tape, Genos slammed his metal hands on your thighs, staring coldly into your eyes

“Why?” He asks, no emotion in his voice

You stared back into his dead-looking eyes, trying your very best to read into why he would ask that question

Because you didn’t answer, Genos became frustrated and gripped at the meat of your thighs harshly, making you cry out

“Why?” He asks again

You decide to ignore the question once again

It was none of his business why you decided to escape

Genos sighs and stands up

“Just wait ‘til Sensei gets home…” He grumbles under his breath

Sweat beads on your forehead at the thought

He’s gonna be so pissed…

Before you could even make up an excuse, you heard the familiar click of the apartment door opening to reveal Saitama, a bag of groceries in hand

Genos immediately rushes up to him, informing him of your disobedience

You hear Saitama’s telltale sigh of disappointment

Good, he wasn’t fuming with anger

You heard him set the groceries down in the kitchen before you see him approach you

He kneels to your level, never looking away from your eyes

Before you could blink, his hand was gripping your chin with strength you’ve never felt in your life

What was scary is that you could feel that Saitama was holding back

“Why, my love?” Is all he asked

You said nothing

He didn’t deserve what you had to say

He kidnapped you, kept you hidden away from the world

That was unforgivable in your eyes

Another sigh escapes Saitama’s lips

“It seems like you need more teaching than I thought.”

You heard the sickening crack before you felt the pain

White-hot as it seared through your face and jaw

And all Saitama had to do was flex his thumb the tiniest bit

I love that Genos is trying to analyze the ingredients of his cocktail mix.

But what I can't figure out if it has alchohol in it or if it's a mocktail.

Mixed drinks without alcohol that resemble cocktails are known as "mocktails" or "virgin cocktails".

Which is a hilarious pun to make about Genos overall if it is virgin cocktail.

But also, Saitama is treating Genos with kid gloves because he snatches the beer away from Genos when Tatsumaki offers it and mocks tatsu for drinking because of her appearance of being a kid. Mighty hypocritical of you Saitama, to judge someone based on appearances, but she has been pain in the arse to you so I'll allow it. You don't have to like everyone lol.

Despite Genos being emancipated, Saitama is apparently not ok with Genos drinking beer. Idk if Genos is allowed to drink or not per japanese culture where drinking age remains at 20, but Saitama when Genos states his age, says "so young..." despite Genos not being THAT much younger than he is physically and Saitama has barely reached his own mental maturation stage at 25. Maybe Genos has given Saitama a wrong idea about his own maturity in his overeagerness or somewhat naive disposition towards some aspects of life (because he can't remember clearly) or something and it's time to change it.

Ironically, Saitama is the one who looks younger here than Genos. Tiny egg. It's all in the character portrayal. Boyish innocence is gone, time to face cynical adulthood for Genos I guess.

Genos also looks more bishounen than before. If that was all possible. Maybe he will topple Amai-mask from that position at the top.

Wonder if Genos' birthday is soon.
