When Young Sanjay Dutt 'Proposed' to Saira Banu: A Heartwarming Memory

On Sanjay Dutt's birthday, July 29, yesteryear actress Saira Banu shared a delightful story from his childhood. Taking to Instagram, she reminisced about the time when a young Sanjay “proposed” to her, capturing the sweet bond they've shared over the years.

Saira posted a touching photo of Sanjay with her late husband, the legendary Dilip Kumar, and wrote, “@duttsanjay has always been like family to me. From Ammaji to Aapaji, to Sahib, and to me, we’ve watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person he is today.”

Saira and Dilip Kumar enjoyed a close relationship with Sanjay’s parents, Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt. She recalled, “When Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, he would accompany her – this cute, good-looking kid… Nargis Ji would then shake his hands and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe? (Tell Saira ji, what you keep telling me)’. And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Shaila Banu se shaadi karunga’ (I’ll marry Saira Banu) in a cute little voice. So adorable! I believe Sharmila Tagore and I were Sanju’s top favorites.”

She concluded her heartfelt note with, “Many hands make light work. We’ve all cherished being part of his journey. He holds a special place in my heart. With all my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday.”

Sanjay Dutt, who turned 65 on Friday, was recently seen in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan. He will next appear in filmmaker Prem’s multilingual pan-India film KD – The Devil, where he is introduced as ‘Dhak Deva’.

On January 13, Aamir Khan hosted a celebration of his daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s wedding in Mumbai, specifically for industry insiders, which was, needless to say, a star studded event. The post-wedding bash came after the couple hosted an intimate destination wedding in Rajasthan, after which, they were keen on celebrating this special moment with the film fraternity. Among the many stars who were a part of this special evening was also yesteryear actress Hema Malini who dropped a series of photos with not just the bride, groom, and the hosts but also with stars like Suriya, Rekha, Juhi Chawla, and others on her social media.

Actress turned politician Hema Malini, who loves to stay updated on social media, decided to give her fans a sneak peek into the starry evening hosted by Aamir Khan to celebrate the union of his daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare. Hema Malini attended the grand function accompanied by her daughter and actress Esha Deol, and they were seen sharing the stage not only with the couple of the evening, Aamir Khan and his first wife Reena Dutta, Nupur’s mother, but also with South superstar Suriya. Along with adding another photo with the Jai Bhim actor, Hema also shared some snapshots with her colleagues Rekha and Saira Banu, popular actress Juhi Chawla, among others. She also added a note expressing her gratitude towards host and sharing her happiness of reuniting with her friends during the occasion as she wrote, “Attended the wedding of Aamir and Reena's daughter, Ira with Nupur last evening. It was a glittering event and it was wonderful catching up with Rekha and especially Saira Banu Ji after a long time”.

Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare kicked off their wedding celebrations in the first week of January with their registered marriage that was held in Mumbai. Post that the couple flew to Udaipur for the grand celebrations where they hosted multiple pre-wedding festivities, like cocktail dinner, pajama party, mehendi, among others, followed by a Christian ceremony.

बॉलीवुड के बेहतरीन एक्टर ऋषि कपूर ने 30 अप्रैल को आखिरी सांस ली। वह काफी समय से कैंसर जैसी बीमारी से जूझ रहे थे। 67 साल के ऋषि कपूर लंबे समय से कैंसर जैसी बीमारी से जूझ रहे थे। वेटरन ऐक्टर के अंतिम संस्कार की प्रक्रिया बेटे रणबीर कपूर ने पूरी की और इस दौरान केवल 24 लोग मौजद रहे। बॉलीवुड एक्टर इरफान खानके निधन के 24 घंटे बाद ही ऋषि कपूर ने भी दुनिया को अलविदा कह दिया।

तमाम सेलेब्स ने ऋषि कपूर का यादकर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि हैं। वहीं, अब दिग्गज एक्ट्रेस सायरा बानो ने उनके लिए भावुक कर देने वाला पोस्ट शेयर किया है। अभिनेता दिलीप कुमार और उनकी पत्नी सायरा बानो ने उनको श्रद्धांजलि दी है। दिलीप कुमार के ��्विटर हैंडल पर सायरा बानो ने लिखा, ‘ऋषि कपूर से बहुत ज्यादा प्यार मिला। वह हमेशा ऐसी चीजें करते जो प्यार से बहुत ही पर्सनल हो जाती हैं। वह अपने पुराने पारंपरिक तरीके से हर फैमिली फंक्शन का बुलावा भेजा करते।

ऋषि कपूर हमेशा जुड़े रहे और उन्होंने दिलीप कुमार और राज कपूर की दोस्ती को जिंदा रखा।’बता दें कि बॉलिवुड के ट्रेजडी किंग के नाम से मशहूर दिलीप कुमार 97 साल के हो चुके हैं और उनका स्वास्थ्य गड़बड़ रहता है। सायरा बानो उनका पूरा खयाल रखती हैं। अलग-अलग समय में दिलीप कुमार के प्रेम-प्रसंग के चर्च भी आम हुआ करते थे। आखिरकार उन्होंने अपने से 22 साल छोटी सायरा बानो से शादी की थी।

बताते चलें कि सितंबर 2018 में ऋषि कपूर को कैंसर का पता चलने के बाद वह पत्नी नीतू सिंह के साथ न्यू यॉर्क इलाज के लिए गए थे। उनके परिवार ने लंबे वक्त तक बीमारी छिपाने की कोशिश की थी। वहां लगभग 1 साल इलाज करवाने के बाद वह सितंबर 2019 में भारत लौटे थे।बता दें कि ऋषि बीते दो साल से ल्यूकेमिया से जंग लड़ रहे थे। मुंबई के चंदनवाड़ी श्मशान घाट पर उनका अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया। इस दौरान नीतू सिंह, रणबीर कपूर, आलिया भट्ट, सैफ अली खान, करीना कपूर, अभिषेक बच्चन और अन्य सितारे मौजूद रहे हैं। इस दौरान की कई फोटोज और वीडियो सामने आ चुके हैं।
