yes my poesie order arrived only a couple days ago, yes i cannot help myself and tested two already

Poesie’s White Rabbit: fluffy white fur musk, kumquat marmalade, lacy carrot flower, a wisp of hay and sweet fennel 

i sniffed this from the vial when it arrived (cold! it was near freezing when it got here!) and knew immediately i would adore it. we all know how much i love citrus perfumes, and that kumquat marmalade is to DIE for.

i tested it yesterday, and the marmalade faded faster than i would like tho i think it would get stronger as it rests (citrus tends to actually stick around on my skin, even though it’s known to be a fleeting top note). but it still added a lovely citrus fruity-ness to it. there’s a bit of earthy sweetness from the hay and fennel, and i don’t know what carrot flower smells like but i presume it’s helping either the marmalade or earthy notes. finally i got some of that fuzzy fur musk. fur musk and i have a contentious relationship, but since it takes a back seat to the rest of these notes, i quite enjoy it here.

i really hope this one comes back because i want to get a larger size. there’s still samples available through poesie’s lucky day sale, if you’re even somewhat curious i highly recommend picking it up!

Poesie’s Rich Ghost: Iso E Super, ruby red grapefruit, rich sandalwood, golden threads of saffron, a hint of jasmine perfume, grey musk, warm amber, marshmallow 

yup, today i tested the other citrus perfume i got lol. this is the one from last year’s ghost collection i really wanted to try, but since they were only selling sample sets or full sizes i didn’t pick it up. i guess they poured too many samples since it’s in the luck day sale, too.

this one definitely needs more rest. i figured it would since half of the notes are base notes, but i wanted to give it a go anyway because the combination of grapefruit and sandalwood in the vial was making me feel some kind of way.

i think this sandalwood is similar to the one sorcellerie has used in their sandalwood perfumes i’ve enjoyed, because it feels very familiar. the grapefruit also reminds me of NAVA’s grapefruit, which is a huge compliment since their grapefruit is what made me realize i go nuts for the note.

overall this blends together very smoothly, even though it needs more rest. the overall scent is a little on the muddled side. i’m not getting any jasmine (thank god) but i’m also not getting much else than light citrus and sandalwood + grey musk + other base notes. oh, and iso e super. that is also what’s reminding me of sorcellerie perfumes. i’ll set it aside and test it again in a month or so.

two other perfumes still for sale for their lucky day event that i own are Eat Me (peach lavender cake with a marshmallow frosting dotted with currants) and  Mayari (green bamboo, white tea, sea salt, ginger root essential oil, Cetalox).

Eat Me is delicious, reminding me of arcana’s popular Fille de Joie (Delicate lavender marshmallows and yellow peaches cured in a vanilla absolute bottle.) but more foody. the peaches are syrupy in eat me while they’re fresh in fille de joie, and the lavender is more smooth than fille’s very herbal lavender. i don’t normally like having perfumes that are so similar but these are different enough and i like them both that i’m not gonna get rid of either.

Mayari is quite possibly the best summer beach perfume, because it works great in humidity. the bamboo and white tea give off the vibe of green tea while the sea salt and cetalox give it that salty beachy edge to it. i literally don’t know how to sell it except to say it’s both something i’ve never experienced before while also being a “safe” perfume choice.

Notre commentaire : “The Bank Job” ou “Braquage à l’Anglaise” est un thriller dramatique britannique datant de 2008, réalisé par Roger Donaldson, à qui l’on doit également “Le Pacte” (2011). Les acteurs principaux sont Jason Statham, qu’on a pu voir dans “Mechanic: Resurrection” (2016), Saffron Burrows, qu’on a pu voir dans “Peur Bleue” (1999), Richard Lintern, qu’on a pu voir dans “Unmade Beds” (2009) et David Suchet, que l’on connaît essentiellement pour avoir interprété le détective Hercule Poirot. 

Le film est basé sur le braquage de Baker Street dans le centre de Londres en 1971, dans lequel l’argent et les objets de valeurs dérobés n’ont jamais été récupérés. Les producteurs prétendent que l’histoire n’a pas été racontée en 1971 en raison d’une requête D-Notice (secret défense) imposée par le gouvernement de l’époque, prétendument pour protéger un membre de la famille royale britannique. Toujours selon les producteurs, ce film est destiné à révéler la vérité pour la première fois, bien qu’il inclût des éléments significatifs de fiction.

“Braquage à l’Anglaise” est donc un film basé sur une histoire vraie. C’est toujours impressionnant de voir le travail qui est effectué afin de reconstituer une atmosphère correspondant à une époque particulière. Un travail spécifique a dû ici être effectué au niveau des décors, des costumes, des véhicules et du look arboré par les acteurs pour se fondre dans leur personnage respectif censé évoluer au début des années 1970.

L’histoire débute comme un braquage classique. Le premier acte consiste à recruter les membres qui vont composer l’équipe ainsi que la préparation du braquage. Le second acte se focalise sur le braquage à proprement parlé et le troisième acte, le plus complexe, la gestion des conséquences de ce cambriolage. L’affaire prend une tournure particulière, car en dévalisant la banque, les malfaiteurs mettent la main sur divers documents compromettant. Des photos pornographiques d’un membre de la famille royale prises lors d’une partouze, qui permettent à un truand de faire chanter le gouvernement. Un carnet de notes révélant les pots-de-vin que verse un mafieux à des flics corrompus. Des photos d’imminents membres du gouvernement prises lors de séance SM dans un bordel. De quoi avoir le MI5 et le MI6 sur le dos, la mafia, des policiers véreux et la police régulière en prime. 

Le rythme est plutôt soutenu, surtout dans la deuxième partie du film où les choses s’accélèrent et où Terry Leather, le personnage principal de cette histoire, interprété par Jason Statham, doit jongler avec les différents antagonistes qui veulent tous récupérer, coûte que coûte, les biens qui leur ont été dérobés à l’occasion de ce braquage. Quelques scènes d’action viennent agrémenter l’intrigue, sans pour autant être prédominantes. 

Pour la petite anecdote, selon Roger Donaldson, le réalisateur, la journée de tournage la plus difficile fut lorsqu’il dut filmer la scène du bordel. Cette scène exigeait que les femmes se déplacent en étant vêtues uniquement de jarretières. Cependant, le réalisateur précise, que lorsqu’il a voulu débuter la scène, il a découvert que la plupart des femmes avaient le pubis rasé, ce qui était anachronique pour 1971. Les actrices ont donc dû porter des perruques pubiennes appelées merkins. Cela a causé de nombreux problèmes, car les merkins étaient difficiles à maintenir en place. Ils glissaient et le tournage de cette scène fut bien plus complexe qu’il n’y paraissait. 

Bien que l’intrigue se complique de par la multiplication des intervenants et des personnes concernées par le braquage, la compréhension reste fluide et on peut facilement suivre les tenants et les aboutissants de chaque séquence. La distribution est très britannique et on retient essentiellement les prestations de trois acteurs. Jason Statham, un peu plus calme qu’à l’habitué, mais qui dispose tout de même d’une petite scène de baston dans la dernière partie du film. Saffron Burrows, qui dispose d’un rôle intéressant, avec un personnage qui joue un double-jeu. James Faulkner, qui interprète un pseudo-dandy roublard, escroc sans grande envergure. L’acteur s’en donne à cœur joie en jouant les pseudos nobles. 

“Braquage à l’Anglaise” a fait l’objet d’une édition en DVD ainsi qu’en Blu-ray, paru le 17 mars 2009 chez Seven7. Pour de plus amples renseignements, n’hésitez pas à consulter la fiche du film sur le site DVD.Fr.

En conclusion, “Braquage à l’Anglaise” est un très bon thriller policier, articulé autour d’une histoire de braquage de banque, qui se complique sérieusement en raison du contenu des coffres qui sont vidés. L’intrigue est évolutive, protagonistes et antagonistes se multiplient tout en préservant une fluidité dans la compression des événements. Quelques scènes d’actions viennent ponctuer le métrage. Le travail concernant les décors, les costumes, l’apparence des personnages, les véhicules est superbe et permet de bien s’immerger dans l’atmosphère des seventies. La distribution est plaisante et le rythme est cohérent avec la trame proposée. L’ensemble offrant un agréable divertissement.
