How many of you are in Twitter? So, in my school district Black parents are dealing with unprecedented levels of anti-Black racism. To the point where, there’s White supremacist literature floating around the high schools, another kid was beat up and called racial slurs, all caught on camera, that parent is suing. These are just two instances there are soooo many more. I didn’t mention the second racist trustee. No not the one that called a parent the N word, this is the one that makes derogatory comments about Black and racialized community groups, oh and in response to all the anti-Black racism- she thought it was cute to tweet out the lyrics to the negro spiritual- #SwingLowSweetChariot. We need help. If you are on twitter contact the YRDSB and @yrdsbdirector and let her know that her video statement is not enough. What is she going to do to get rid of an overtly anti-Black and racist school trustee. What concrete actions is the Board taking to make sure Black children are physically and emotionally safe in schools? Help us amplify our voice by adding your voice to ours. I’m tired.
