Author's Notes: I wasn't sure if you wanted this to be silly or sappy but I couldn't get his Myth out of my head so I went the latter route 😅

It's winter and nearly freezing out, which makes it easy to hide the surprise you've prepared for Sylus under a thick wool cap.

He meets you at the gates to your apartment complex, greets you with a pat on the head, and helps you put the helmet on over your hat, and then you're racing off back to the N109 Zone.

You wonder if Sylus can feel the way your heart pounds against his back, your arms wrapped tight around his waist. You can't wait to show him, but part of you is nervous. It had been Luke and Kieran's idea–you didn't see the harm, but they could be so mischievous at times...

But your worries are only compounded when you pull the helmet off, the cap catching and slipping off alongside it. Your hair tumbles free, as white as the snowflakes fluttering in the cold air.

Sylus freezes. For a long moment, he just stares at you. Something flickers across his expression–an emotion you can't neatly identify.

Self-conscious, you rub a strand between your fingertips. "You... don't like it," you guess.

Sylus finally recovers. That strange expression morphs into a soft smile, one that fills you with a delicate warmth. He pulls you into his arms and runs his fingers through your hair. "I haven't said a word, kitten. You look..."

When he trails off, you pull back to shoot him a questioning look. He shakes his head. It seems he can't find a word he's satisfied with, so he leaves the sentiment unfinished.

But the tender way he kisses you, his hands cupping your jaw, is worth a thousand words, so you suppose it doesn't really matter in the end.
