Looking great in a container Echeveria 'Perle von Nürnberg' provides a rosette of fleshy, leaves with a purplish-grey sheen. Being an evergreen succulent this plant is able to withstand drought but would need protection from cold temperatures and excessive damp.

Charleston, a Sussex farmhouse, was a country retreat for artists and writers of the Bloomsbury Group and the home of Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell. The drawing room fireplace is heated by a Pither stove. The surround is painted with figures by Duncan Grant in the exuberant decorative style that eventually embellished every surface in the house.

The last flowers of various cultivars of Symphyotrichum novi-belgii (Michaelmas daisy, New York aster) and other species of clump-forming, herbaceous perennials. This is such a lovely way to display flowers in a garden or house.
