If you are concidering donating blood, awesome! It is a worthwhile, often pretty easy thing to do that can have a huge impact. This is especially true in the summer, when the number of blood donations is lower.

There are many things that may get you denied or deferred for donation, some of which have been and still are influenced by fear and prejudice. However, here in the US, some restrictions have recently been changed. I've listed many of the common denial/deferment reasons below. If you are ineligible to donate for a temporary reason, concider doing so in the future! And for everyone, eligible or not, I would encourage you to encourage others to donate. Even one donation could help save someone's life.

Common reasons people get denied in the US

- weight. You must be at least 110lb, so that you have enough blood to safely donate.

- low iron. If you are under the donation limit but not severely, you will be deferred and can donate later, once your iron increases. If your levels are extremely or consistently low, you will not be able to donate.

- recent vaccinations. Depends on what it was. With some, like flu and covid, it is fine to donate after as long as you are feeling well. Others, like hepB, monkeypox, or tetanus may have you deferred for a specific amount of time, then you will be eligible again.

- tattoos / piercings. The restrictions depend on what state you had the mod done, but it may be a 3 month wait before you will be eligible again.

- medications / illness / disabilities. Some will disqualify you, check online for your specifics. With some things, like diabetes or high/low bp, you are eligible as long as it is well managed. Others will disqualify you entirely, or they may defer you based on current health. It is highly dependent on the condition and meds you take.

PrEP for HIV prevention will disqualify you (for 3 months after last dose of pills and 2 years w/ injection). This is because in rare cases, PrEP can cause false negatives, meaning that someone can have HIV but be at low enough levels from the medication that the test doesn't detect it. This would be dangerous for a blood recipient, so they do not want to take the risk with folks on PrEP.

Additionally, if you are HIV+, you are ineligible to donate. Even if you are on ART and are at undetectable levels, there is a risk of transmission with blood transfusions.

- injectable drugs. If you have used injectable drugs that were not prescribed to you within the last 3 months, you will be deferred.

- sex.

There are several ways your sex life may get you deferred, which are based on what the powers-that-be have determined to be higher risks for STIs, particularly hepB and HIV. We can discuss all day if these concerns are reasonable, but the restrictions exist regardless. However, they have changed recently in the US regarding men who have sex with men. The following rules are now gender neutral.

• if you have had a new sexual partner and have had anal sex in the past 3 months, you will be deferred.

• if you have had multiple sexual partners and have had anal sex in the past 3 months, you will be deferred. This includes if you are in exclusive, committed relationships with multiple people.

• if you have exchanged sex for money, drugs, or other payment in the past 3 months, you will be deferred.

• if you have had sex with a sex worker, someone who is HIV+, or someone who has used non-prescribed injectable drugs in the past 3 months, you will be deferred.

If you are eligible and planning to donate

- do not do so if you are sick or feel unwell. Wait or reschedule until you feel healthy.

- do not donate while under the influence of drugs, including weed and alcohol.

- hydrate!!! Before and after!!!

Summary: When an accident happens in the ED, (Y/n) and Doug are forced to change their long-awaited plans for the night.

"Hey, (y/n), whatcha doing later?" Asked Jerry as he tried to figure out the new computer system for the second week in a row.

She smiled, going through a patient's chart. "Well, Doug and I have tickets to the Bulls game tonight, so I'm excited. Hopefully th-"

A voice rang out through the ED and all heads flew towards the commotion. "Hey! I need help over here!"

Throwing the chart on the counter, (y/n) ran to assist the paramedics.

"Go to trauma 3!"

"What've we got?" Mark asked, joining (y/n).

The paramedic continued doing CPR as she spoke. "Found him in an alley, unconscious, pupils constricted, low bp, likely overdose. We intubated in the field."

As soon as they transferred the man onto the bed, (y/n) and Mark began listing off orders for tests and labs.

"Push some naloxone!" Greene ordered, checking the man's vitals.

To the doctors' relief, his stats improved as the naloxone worked through his system. Once he was stabilized, (y/n) took a deep breath and left the room, discarding her gloves in a nearby trash can.

She was walking past a supply closet when arms snaked around her waist, causing her to jump.

"Good morning, sweetheart," Doug cooed into her ear as he nuzzled his face into her neck.

A small giggle escaped her lips when she recognized the sleepy voice. "Good morning, Doug."

Turning around, she pecked his lips as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

"How's your shift been?" She asked quietly, observing the exhausted look in his eyes.

"Well," he sighed sadly, "I've had two broken bones, one concussion, and a cancer diagnosis."

(Y/n)'s heart broke at the news. She knew how much the diagnosis hurt any doctor, but in kids specifically, it was an even harder pill to swallow.

"I'm sorry, babe. How far along was it?"

He looked down at their feet. "Late stage three. They're looking into treatments now."

Pulling him into a hug, (y/n) rubbed his back gently. "I'm sure the family was grateful that you caught it.

"Yeah," he breathed, pulling back. His whole demeanor changed as he shifted the topic of conversation to her. "So, what've you been up to?"

"I've had a few skin infections, one nasty gash caused by a lawn mower, and your lovely STI diagnosis."

Doug chuckled, pulling her closer by her waist. "Oh, that does sound lovely! But, you know what sounds even lovelier?"

"What is that, Dr. Ross?"

"You, me, mid-court, tonight at the game," he answered, kissing her lips to emphasize every word.

A blush crept up her neck at his suave attitude. "That does sound lovely, Dougie. I can't wait for my shift to be over."

Checking his watch, Doug flashed his signature grin. 1:00 pm. "Only 3 more hours. Think you can make it, Dr. (y/l/n)?"

"I think so," she whispered, connecting their lips softly. "I've got to check on a patient. I'll see you later."

With a final peck on her temple, Doug released her and began walking toward the break room, calling over his shoulder. "Love you!"

"Love you, too!"

3:45 pm

"Only 15 more minutes," (y/n) sighed to herself.

She checked on the rest of her patients after talking with Doug, so now she was just sitting in the breakroom, hoping no more traumas would come in. Just when she was gathering her things from her locker, Mark entered the room, grabbing something from the fridge.

"Hey, (y/n), can you check on that OD in 3?"

She closed her eyes with a grimace. "Please, Mark. I leave in a few minutes. Doug and I have Bulls tickets tonight."

"That's nice," he stated plainly. "But you're still on shift so please go check on 3"

(Y/n) grabbed her stethoscope off the table and walked toward the door. "You owe me, Mark." She smiled.

"No, I don't," he chimed, watching tv. "Have fun at the game."

As she grabbed the man's chart from the rack, Doug emerged from the bathroom, wearing his favorite Scottie Pippen jersey.

"You ready?" He asked, holding up the tickets with a wide grin.

"Mark's got me checking on that OD in 4 but I should be out in a few minutes. Sorry."

"No problem. I'll just wait here for ya."

"Great."

Entering the trauma room, (y/n) went through the chart, jotting down the man's new stats. A few hours earlier, he had been taken off the ventilator, which was good for his chances, which looked better as the day went on. They had not been able to get an I.D. off of him but suspected he was your typical junkie that happened to take more than he could handle.

When she was finally done checking up on the man, she turned to leave, but a gasp from behind her stole her attention. She started to turn around but was met with the shoulder of the patient, sending her flying backward, her forehead hitting the tiled floor with a sickening crack.

Hearing the commotion, Jerry and Doug made eye contact before looking towards the room to see the patient sprinting towards the exit.

"Hey!" Barked Jerry, who also started running towards the man. "Stop him!"

There was only one thing on Doug's mind at the moment. (y/n). Where was she?

Getting an unsettling feeling in his stomach, he ran to the trauma room only for the feeling to be confirmed. (y/n) was unconscious, laying face down on the floor in a small puddle of blood. Doug's heart fell to his stomach.

"No, no, no. (y/n). Help!" He cried, sliding down next to her.

Gently as he could, Doug rolled her over onto her back just as Mark entered the room.

"What happened!?" He asked, kneeling beside her.

Doug's suave attitude was gone and was replaced by fear. "I-I don't know. We heard a crash and then saw the...the patient! He ran out and must have pushed her or something."

With a sigh, Greene quickly grabbed some gauze from the counter, placing it on the gash. "Okay. Let's get her up."

Doug didn't hear a word he said. He couldn't look away from her bloodstained face, and the way her beautiful (y/h/c) hair was now matted with the crimson substance.

"Doug! Let's go!" Mark repeated, grabbing his friend's shoulder tightly, successfully breaking his trance.

"Yeah. I got her," he whispered, sliding his arms around her back and knees, carrying her bridal style into the closest empty trauma room.

As he laid (y/n) on the gurney, Carole quickly ushered him out of the room.

"Carole, please!"

She placed her hand on his shoulder. "I'm sorry, Doug. You know the rules. We'll take care of her."

As the door closed behind her, all Doug could do was stand and wait, suddenly understanding how their patient's families feel. Tears stung his eyes as the situation finally hit him. With a shaky sigh, he ran his hand slowly down his face, sliding down a nearby wall.

She was going to be alright.

She had to be.

The first thing (y/n) was aware of was the dull pulse in her head. Disoriented, she squinted her eyes with a groan as the bright fluorescent lights forced her to shut them again.

"(Y/n)?" A voice asked quietly.

She knew that voice.

"Come on, sweetheart. You can do it." They whispered, squeezing her hand gently.

Doug.

"Lights." she croaked, voice gravelly from lack of use.

Within seconds, the room became dark, and she cracked her eyes before fully opening them.

"Well, hello there, sleepyhead. How're you' feeling?"

At the sight of Doug's red-rimmed eyes and worried face, her heart hurt.

"My head hurts. What happened?"

Furrowing her brows, (y/n) reached up to her forehead, only to be stopped by Doug. "Baby, don't touch it."

She began to smart off at him but the words died in her throat when she saw what he was wearing. "No! The game! What time is it?"

Doug didn't even bother checking his watch. "It doesn't matter, (y/n/n). The only thing that matters is that you're okay. We can always go to another Bulls game."

"I'm sorry, Doug."

Reaching up, he gently rubbed her hairline, careful of the bandages and bruising surrounding it. "Sweetheart, it's fine. Really."

"I love you so much," she paused, tears filling her eyes. "Thanks for canceling your plans for me."

"I'd cancel plans for you anytime. And I love you too. Now, get some rest. I'll be here when you wake up," he said, kissing her softly on her cheek.

As he leaned back into his chair, he heard her small voice. "Can y-you lay here with me? I always sleep better with you here."

"Of course," he grinned, carefully climbing into the bed, and pulling her into his arms. "Goodnight."

Sleep lured her in as she mumbled. "Goodnight, Dougie."

Sighing softly, Doug closed his eyes and let sleep take him, relishing the feeling of her being safe in his arms once again.

Now that we're emulating game consoles this year instead of paying giant corporations for the privilege, here's 15 games each for the major consoles throughout time that you can use as a starting point.

Atari 2600. The Atari Video Computer System (more commonly, Atari 2600) is the system that both began and almost destroyed the videogame industry. "ET the Extraterrestrial" will not be on this list for obvious reasons. Also, remember; this is your grandpa's game console, so don't expect much from the graphics or sounds. But, standing as a testament to the staying power of gameplay over visuals, each of these games have uncommonly high replay value.

NES. Nintendo is the worst offender when it comes to making people buy their old games several different times. So this, in combination with the fact Nintendo have the most game consoles of any of the hardware makers, means we're going to focus a lot of our time with them. Let's begin at the beginning, then, shall we?

There were three versions of Tetris released for the NES (well, one for Famicom, two for NES); the first was for Famicom by Bullet Proof Software, the second was for NES by Tengen (alternate name for Atari), the third was the officially-licensed version by Nintendo for NES. The Tengen version is better than the Nintendo version and whatever BPS was trying to do.

Super NES. My personal favourite game console, most of the best games for this platform are stuck in Copyright Hell and aren't likely to be officially re-released anywhere again.

Nintendo 64. There really aren't all that many good games for this platform that weren't made by Nintendo or one of their second-party developers because the hardware was really sketchy and no one really knew what Nintendo meant when they said "Make us some new and groundbreaking games please." So, the list is unfairly skewed toward Nintendo and Rare for that reason.

GameCube. Now we're getting into "gaming computer" territory. If your computer doesn't have a video card from at least 2013 in it, don't expect these to run acceptably. The plus side is, this is as new as we're going to get, release date wise.

I have a bit of a dilemma here-- "do I recommend any Harry Potter games?" On one hand, Chamber of Secrets on GCN was my favourite game as a kid and JoKeR was not involved in its production in any way except for inventing the canon upon which it was based; but on the other hand, it's still JoKeR's intellectual real-estate in your own brain. I mean, it IS piracy, and it benefits no one except the player, and believe me when I say that the visuals, sounds, and gameplay of the 6th-Gen HP games was absolutely high-art, and you can literally just wander around Hogwarts for hours not doing anything but raiding desks for jellybeans and stink pellets. I'm going to leave it up to you.

Wii. The Wii is a little problematic because of its motion controls. Since connecting a Wii Remote to your computer can be time consuming and may not work at all, this list only contains games that can be played with a gamepad, either the GCN controller or a Classic Controller attachment. Obviously, some enterprising spud with a compiler can probably hack the more popular Wii games to use traditional control, but we won't be counting on that here.

Game Boy & Game Boy Color. Nintendo is pretty much the last holdout against mobile phones when it comes to portable gaming systems mostly because of the Game Boy line. I recommend playing GB and GBC games on phones (ironically) because the pixels will be less the size of canned hams as opposed to a large gaming monitor.

Game Boy Advance. Everything the 32-bit consoles of the '90s should have been, the GBA has an impressive roster of excellent games, and choosing just 15 of them was really hard, actually. Critics tended to be overly-critical of GBA games, mostly because they were adult men and the GBA was seen as a toy.

This list is only here for nostalgic purposes, and, with a few exceptions, all of these games can be played with better results on other systems.

Cerita dari Penempatan (1)

Namaku Nur Azis Ramadhan, biasa dipanggil Azis.  Ini adalah secuil kisah tentang seorang pemuda yang tengah mengabdikan dirinya kepada negeri. Sepenggal perjalanan mengenai penempatan, pekerjaan serta amanah yang tengah diemban.

Cerita perjalanan tersebut dimulai sejak awal Februari tahun ini.  Ketika itu aku mendapatkan kesempatan mengabdi seusai lulus dari empat tahun perkuliahan di salah satu kampus kedinasan, Politeknik Statistika STIS namanya.  

Kala itu, tanpa pernah menduga sebelumnya, aku ditempatkan (ditakdirkan) ke sebuah instansi tempat penghasil berbagai data, Badan Pusat Statistik Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, sebagai seorang statistisi. Di  instansi tersebut aku juga ditugaskan di sebuah seksi statistik sosial, seksi yang menjadi subject meter survei penting BPS seperti Survei Sosial Ekonomi Nasional (SUSENAS), Survei Angkatan Kerja Nasional (SAKERNAS), Survei Potensi Desa (PODES), dan beberapa survei lainnya. Di seksi tersebut, aku dibersamai oleh seorang Kepala Seksi (Kasi) dan seorang kakak, yang keduanya sudah memiliki lebih banyak pengalaman bila dibandingkan denganku.  Sementara pegawai lainnya, yang berjumlah 17 (tujuh belas) orang menjadi partner pendukung untuk mengerjakan berbagai pekerjaan.

Aku masih mengingat hari pertama ketika menginjakkan kaki ke kantor tersebut. Bagaimana orang-orang di sana memberikan sambutan yang sangat hangat kepadaku dengan hal sederhana seperti memberikan sapaan, memberikan senyuman, menawarkan bantuan, dan beberapa hal hangat lain yang saat itu kurasakan. Bahkan pada hari pertama tersebut, aku langsung disarankan untuk tinggal di sebuah rumah dinas tersebab belum memiliki tempat tinggal untuk menetap.

Hari-hari seterusnya adalah hari yang penuh kesan dan makna. Karena ada berbagai hal yang sangat menarik yang tengah ditemui selama memasuki dunia kerja. Seperti bertemu dengan orang baru yaitu mitra dari berbagai daerah serta mengenali bahasa mandailing yang menjadi bahasa utama di daerah. Selain itu penempatan seorang diri pun juga menuntutku menjadi pribadi yang  lebih mandiri dan memberi kesempatan mempelajari beragam hal yang mau tak mau harus dimengerti. Beberapa di antaranya yaitu pelajaran terkait administrasi yang ternyata sangat diperlukan untuk seorang abdi negeri, pelajaran mengenai desain grafis yang tentu dibutuhkan untuk membuat macam-macam publikasi, pelajaran tentang cara berkomunikasi dengan begitu banyak orang dari latar belakang yang berbeda satu dengan lainnya.

Tentang 2018: Bahagia Atau Sedih?

Part 1: Tentang Magang

Di 2018 ada magang yg merupakan masa peralihan antara dunia kampus dan dunia kerja. Suatu aktivitas yg menghindarkan kami dari status pengangguran. 4 bulan w ngerasain jadi pencari sesuap nasi di ibukota. Bangun subuh, lari2 ngejar transjakarta. Berdesakan di bus. Bersabar menghadapi mba2 dan emak2 yg suka ngomel dan ngerebut antrian. Huft. Saat itu w bener2 pengen menghilang dari ibukota dan kembali ke kota kecil kelahiran. Bosan sudah dengan ibukota.

Part hidup ini: Bahagia atau sedih. Bosan, Lelah ditambah Rindu keluarga. Jelas sudah Sedih.

Part 2: Tentang Penempatan

2018? Kalau ditanya gimana dengan tahun ini? Campur aduk persis es campur. Kalau bisa dibilang tahun ini adalah tahun "Perpisahan". Yak, tahun ini setelah melalui sukaduka skripsi dan merasakan sukacita wisuda ditahun kemaren. Kami lulusan STIS 55 harus memenuhi janji yg telah kami tandatangani 4 tahun sebelumnya. Yaitu: SIAP DITEMPATKAN DIMANA SAJA. Ya. Dimana saja. Gak salah kok. Kalau kata anak jaksel jaman now literally dimana saja. Kami bener2 tersebar ke seluruh penjuru indonesia dari sabang sampai merauke, dari miangas sampai pulau rote.

Kebayanglah yaa betapa sedih ketika harus berpisah dengan teman2 seperjuangan 4 tahun yang gak tau bakal kapan ketemunya lagi huhuhu.

Tapi sisi lain, jujur aku juga ngerasa excited menuju penempatan karena bakal menghadapi babak baru dalam hidup. Ya, bakal tau gimana dunia kerja, bakal berinteraksi dengan org baru, bakal banyak tanggung jawab lagi. Dan bakal, bakal banyak yg lainnya lagiii.

Oke, ngomong masalah penempatan w urut aja yaa dari tahap pemilihan daerah penempatan, untuk hal ini w emang sangat beruntung dengan posisi "anak daerah" yang mana w dibalikin ke provinsi asal. Walaupun gak tau bakal dapat kabupaten/kota mana yang jelas dalam pikiran w saat itu seenggaknya kalau bahasa dan budaya masih sama lebih gampanglah ya adaptasinyaa.

Waktu pemilihan daerah penempatan w dah gambling bngt milih daerah yg deket ama rumah. Udah pasrah lah kalau ditempatin yg jauh sekalian pun (mikirnya yg penting kalsel wkwk).

Ternyata tak disangka, w dapat tuh kabupaten pilihan pertama akuuuu. Omaygat alhamdulillah senengnya seneng bgt (masih teringat saat tangan ini gemeteran waktu buka file pengumuman penempatan) mana di kabupaten itu ada 3 org yg ditempatin bareng, cewe semua lagi ya Allah seneng bgt dong w ada temennya :)))

Setelah pengumuman, akhirnya tibalah saat penempatan tibaaaa... Dari habis maghrib udah banyak terdengar suara koper anak2 yg mau penempatan. Ya Allah sedih bgt waktu itu :( tiba lah saat ku juga harus menarik koper meninggalkan kosan yg udah menemaniku selama 4,5 tahun, melow bgt waktu itu w ngeliatin dinding kamar yg jadi saksi bisu segala kenangan indah di jakarta. (ini lebay tapi bener ya gimana yaa huhuhu).

Bandara. Jadi saksi diantara semua perpisahan. Perpisahan antar pasangan, perpisahan antar sahabat, perpisahan antar orang tua dan anaknya dan perpisahan antar mereka yg belum sempat mengutarakan rasa (ehem). Ya bandara, bukan hanya tempat menerbangkan pesawat. Ia juga merupakan tempat menerbangkan kenangan.

Bahagia atau sedih? Pada bagian hidup yg ini. Perpisahan tentu selalu berkorelasi dengan kesedihan. Sedih.

Part 3: Tentang Dunia Kerja

2018? Tahun pertama aku, kami, dan (mungkin juga) kamu pertama kali merasakan duduk di meja kerja dengan setumpuk tugas dan dokumen yg berteriak2 minta di kerjakan. Dengan jadwal pelatihan dan perjalanan dinas yg padat merayap. Membuat w terkejut dan terheran2 (sebab abang belum pernah kesana~~). 2018 juga menjadi tahun pengalaman pertama menjadi bagian dari survei BPS. PMTB dan SUTAS, 2 survei pertama yg w pegang jadi pengawas (yg kalau ngawas petugas, w lebih terlihat seperti anak magang dibandingkan pengawas T.T).

Bahagia atau sedih? Apa yg paling membahagiakan ketika jarak antara rumah dan tempat penempatan hanya berjarak 1,5 jam naik motor?. Bahagia.

Part 4: Tentang Latsar

Ketika u udah lelah dengan pekerjaan kantor selama 4 bulan trus disuruh diklat (read:escape from kerjaan kantor) ke jakarta ketemu teman2 yg udah lama (baru 4 bulan sih) gak ketemu...

Ketika u udah nangis2 dibandara karena bakal pisah ama temen2, eh taunyaa dipertemukan lagi ketika latsar.

Untuk bagian hidup yg ini sih udah pasti Bahagia.

Part [Terakhir] 2018: Tentang Zeini

Pernah gak sih ngerasa seorang sahabat itu lebih dari sahabat. Udah kaya sodara. Udah kaya keluarga. Ya ini, baru sekali ngerasain ini semenjak di STIS. Alhamdulillah, pernah bertemu, mengenal dengan orang sebaik kamu zen.

Temen 4 tahun tarawih bareng ke masjid di jakarta. Temen yg bareng tes kesehatan waktu masuk STIS sampai temen make up wisudanya bareng. Temen yg selalu ada kalau aku kesepian. Temen yg selalu nyambung kalau ngobrolin apapun. Ya apapun. Dari obrolan masalah agama sampai politik. Dari ngomong obrolan masalah statmat sampai obrolan bapak2 banjar di warkop.

Temen yg selalu senyum dan gak pernah marah. Temen yg baik banget gak pernah pamrih.

Pas kamu pergi, aku baru ngerti dari kalimat "orang baik selalu disayang Allah".

Bener zen, Allah emang sayang ama kamu. Makanya diantara kita kamu lah yg beruntung pergi ke SurgaNya terlebih dahulu.

Zen, masya Allah Hari H mu bener-bener indah. Dihari jum'at, sedang berpuasa, dalam perjalanan menjalankan tugas...

Untuk bagian hidup yang ini, Bahagia atau sedih?

Jawaban untuk part ini sekaligus menjawab semua bagian hidup di tahun ini adalah. Bersyukur. Bersyukur karena pernah bertemu dan mengenal orang sebaik zeini. Bersyukur karena di tahun ini banyak hal-hal membahagiakan dan yg menyedihkan yg selalu dapat menjadi pelajaran.

Bersyukur bahwa masih di berikan hidup lebih lama untuk (insya Allah) belajar tentang kehidupan dunia dan akhirat dan bermanfaat bagi orang lain.

Di kapal. Yang sebelum memasukinya sangat cemas akan tidak bersahabatnya ombak dan batukan si anak yang telah ditinggal ibunya (Anak Krakatau), takut dahaknya luber kemana-mana. Pasrah. Tetapi ketakutan itu memudar bahkan lenyap ketika berpikir, “Kalau aku masih berumur, aku mau bisnis apa yaa?”. Otak bisnis! Maklum, sudah merasakan bahagianya menjadi ‘businessgirl’. 

“Berapa umurnya mbak?”,  “22 buk, hehe”,  “Masih kuliah ya di jakarta?”, “Udah kerja buk” “Oh ya? dimana?” “Di BPS buk, Badan Pusat Statistik” 

(Harus banget guys menjabarkan kepanjangan BPS, kocak emang wkwk.  Bhaiq, karena sebagian besar orang tidak tahu apa itu BPS. Sama halnya dengan STIS, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Statistik, i would like to say, “sama kayak STAN bu, kedinasan, bedanya kalau STAN perpajakan dan STIS tentang statistik”. Dan kalau tau itu statistik, pasti orang-orang mikir, “Oh pinter matematika ni pasti ya”. Dan selalu senang dengan doa-doa itu, di-aamiin kan saja ya)

“Wah enak ya masih kecil sudah PNS” (Sepertinya dibilang kecil karena badanku yang kecil. Oke gapapa, i love my self) “Hehe, alhamdulillah Bu”

Ada saja ya yang buat bersyukur. Teguran-teguran dimana-mana. Mungkin sebagian orang bilang, “statistic is not my passion”, “PNS, gajinya datar. Hari tua nya sih yang enak”, “Kerjanya gitu-gitu aja, gak berkembang!”, “Kasian mereka, belajr statistik ilmunya gak kepake.”

Dan lain-lainnya, yang masih banyak, sangat banyak, tetap banyak, pasti banyak. 

Cuma teringat aja pesan kakak produser film, yang menurutku sudah sukses, dan yang baru aku tau mantan anak STIS. Ok, mantan, berarti? Ya, memutuskan keluar. Bukan-bukan, bukan mau ngajakn resign dari PNS. Tapi inget ceritanya dia, yang intinya adalah gimanapun keadaaan yang dialamin saat ini, itu udah pilihan kamu. Jadi, kalau gak suka sama sesuatu, maka coba liat dari sudut pandang yang berbeda dan lebih luas, dan hati yang lapang. Buat sedemikian rupa yang kamu gak suka, jadi kamu suka.

Contohnya, ada loh anak STIS yang udah jadi komikus cukup terkenal, followers ig nya bejibun. Ada loh anak STIS yang youtubers, subscribenya? gak usah ditanya ya, banyak!. Ada loh anak STIS yang pinter buat film, yang karyanya gausah diragukan deh. Tapi tetep mereka pegawai BPS, no resign-resign club. Hanya bagaimana kamu memilih menjalani hidup, mau tetep ngerasa insecure karena bekerja gak sesuai passion atau jalanin keduanya (passion + jadi pegawai) dengan rasa syukur. Karena banyak banget yang pengen jadi PNS! Beneran, aku gak boong.

Ada hati yang kecewa, ada pula yang menangis bahagia melihat selembar kertas yang tertulis namanya..

It’s oke, menangislah tapi jangan lupa untuk bersyukur. Alhamdulillah 

Yang jauh dari rumah, Mungkin Allah tengah mengajarkan untuk lebih mandiri, Allah uji hati disuasana dimana dia belum mengenal siapapun, 

Yang dekat rumah, Mungkin Allah tengah ajarkan untuk lebih dan lebih berbakti kepada orang tua, kepada keluarga terdekat

Sebuah pesan yang mengiringi perjalananku dari Kata kata Kasubbag Umum BPS Kab Pringsewu, Bu Niken, yang waktu itu memberikan nasehat kepadaku, menjadi perekat dihati bahwa dimanapun ditempatkan, ingat 2 hal

1. Harus Punya prinsip, kamu bekerja bukan untuk pimpinan tapi utamanya untuk Allah, kemudian BPS, dan masyarakat. Jadi se se... apapun disana berbaurlah tapi tidak melebur

2. Tanamkan dalam hati, bahwa kamu gk selamanya ada disini, atau gk selamanya ada diposisi ini. karena dengan begitu akan selalu ada niat untuk pulang ke tempat yg dekat dengan rumah, ada niat untuk melanjutkan studi, ada niat untuk terus meningkatkan kapasitas diri 

Tak apa mengeluh sedikit karena memang fitrahnya manusia begitu bukan? 

                                                                                        إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا

Artinya: ” Sesungguhnya manusia diciptakan bersifat keluh kesah lagi kikir.” (Q. S. Al Ma’ariij: 19)

                                                                                           إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا

Artinya: ” Apabila ia ditimpa kesusahan ia berkeluh kesah,” (Q. S. Al Mariij: 20)

tapi setelah itu, Berserahlah pada yang Maha Berkehendak bagaimanapun kehendaknya, Semakin yakin sama Allah, semakin berhusnudzon kepadaNya 

Melepaskan segala urusan dengan bahagia. Bukan menahan nahannya seakan tidak terima. 

Hamba ridha apapun yang Engkau mau ya Rabb,  Karena ridhaMu jugalah yang  kuharap
