im doing the rant about N25 KAITO i fucking lied about it coming on the weekend because im bored as hell :3

*ahem*

so N25 KAITO is memed a lot because in the April Fool's event, there's an area convo with N25 Rin where she's talking with another unit's KAITO (either VBS or WXS i can't remember 💀) and she's like "oh. i wonder if our KAITO will be like that :)"

and in EN server there's almost certainly people meming the way the new stamps tastefully ignore N25 KAITO

and I'm interested by this because I think niigo KAITO coming last was a very purposeful decision by the writers?

let's look at the first four KAITOs. Leoni KAITO is quiet, shy, but still a helpful senpai- exactly what the Leoni girls like Saki and Ichika have been needing for direction in their music studies and becoming a better band by working together individually and as a group.

MMJ KAITO is a hardworking manager, who provides that "push" that's shown to help Minori the most. Minori has her head in the clouds often and is shown to be helped by very severe, what I would consider maybe slightly "harsh" instruction from the others. (Think Airi always training her and pushing her to go harder, that's what Minori needs.) KAITO provides that push and also shows the management side of being an idol group for MMJ- all of MMJ are idols after all, to my knowledge none of them have managing experience. But keep in mind, he's still kind. He's still helpful and nice, and smiles often.

VBS KAITO is shown as mostly a direct contrast to Akito and how since the main story, he (akito) has wanted to work hard and consistently for the goal to surpass Rad Weekend, even perhaps putting his studies aside. KAITO represents keeping talent and being hardworking, while still being lazy and having fun. I think he also represents as motivation for Kohane, who was convinced by the main story she needs to work constantly and hardly and push herself beyond other things she enjoys to be able to reach this goal- but she doesn't. All of VBS can achieve their goal while still having fun with it, and that's what their KAITO represents.

WXS KAITO is literally fucking WXS KAITO idk what you want

Okay jokes aside as the "main" KAITO he is there to provide the more serious aspect to WonderShow's silly goofiness. Tsukasa definitely also has is head in the clouds, but all he wants is "to become a STAR! ⭐️" without really knowing how to achieve that goal. KAITO represents the path to that goal, and motivates him to work for that future. We see before PXL and SEKAI, that Tsukasa wasn't really getting anywhere with his acting career, right? And there's a whole other bucketload of info about what he represents for Emu, Nene, and Rui, but I can't figure out how to word it 😭 😭

So to sum it up, KAITOs seem to show what the unit members (especially the "leaders" but not always) need and motivates them to get to their overall goal, they were created in the image of what they want and what they need. And in contrast to Niigo KAITO, they are all NICE. They are all helpful, kind, fun, and genuine.

Now, remember what I said just now, about how they were created in the image of what the unit members want and what they need.

With Niigo, it's a common theme that could be said that "all roads lead back to Mafuyu." Kanade wants to save someone with her music, and Mafuyu represents that desire for her. Ena wants to prove herself as a talented and respectable artist, and she'll know she reaches that goal once Mafuyu is able to genuinely tell her, from the bottom of Mafuyu's heart, that Ena had improved and gotten the feeling she wanted to convey across to someone who is practically incapable of feeling anymore. And Mizuki ,,, there's definitely something for them to but I can't remember anything abt their stories rn 😭 😭 im a failed mizuki kinnie istg (also this entire paragraph was not supposed to invalidate any of their individual stories and characters and say that mafuyu is the best and only character of N25 that's not it at all)

So, considering Mafuyu under this lens, and quoting that KAITOs tend to represent what a unit member needs and wants to move forward, this becomes interesting because deep down, Mafuyu doesn't know what she needs or wants. There were definitely people who predicted that N25 KAITO was gonna be an asshole, but for the most part KAITO's harsh strictness and rudeness came as a direct contrast to all of the kind, helpful SEKAILOIDS we've seen before. Even N25 MEIKO was just kinda chill and quiet with the occasional not nice comment, but KAITO came forward with the sharp, harsh comments about what exactly Mafuyu needs to do. I heard somewhere that Mizuki tells Mafuyu that maybe running away would be a good idea, and that Rui tells her something similar.

But KAITO flat out fucking commands her (and the others i think) that she needs to confront and cut ties with mafumom IMMEDIATELY, and not in a nice or encouraging way either.

Was in awe when she first saw you, she thought you were so elegant and so elegant looking too. She immediately grew a crush on you just from the way you looked

At first, she was a little scared of you because every time you talked, it felt so professional that it felt scary but she later learned to not mind it and found the way you talked and walked to be very admirable

Shes honestly scared to meet your family and has only met two, Killua and Alluka who were absolute sweethearts, mainly Alluka because when she first met Killua she was met with remarks about her ankles. But she loved Alluka and they grew very close and basically became an older sister to Alluka.

Yashiro loves to watch the way you play around with paper and how precise you throw it like it’s a dart. Wouldn’t ask for you to make her something but you can definitely tell she wants to

Kou Minamoto

Was very intrigued in the way you talked and carried yourself, and immediately assumed that you were from some important clan and when he found out you were, he immediately wanted to get to know you

Although he was scared at first, that didn’t stop him. Kou is a very nice guy and didn’t rlly take your short stoic answers to heart much and just assumed that it was hard for you to talk to people and he won’t judge at all

Is honestly very terrified to meet your family and has met your dad and grandpa who’d didn’t say much to him except for a formal greeting. Has also accidentally met Illumi and almost felt like he was going to piss himself so he excused himself and ran to where you were very quickly. Thinks your sister is the cutest ever and wants her to meet Tiara one day. Killua and him often get into petty arguments but it’s all fun.

Will ask if you can teach him how to throw paper like darts but will fail miserably

Thoughts about the snow

Let’s start with the left.

The Yugi twins are excited when it’s snowing outside, but get cold really easily.

They probably still get that way even as ghost. I can imagine them as humans, little kids who go outside on a snow day and have no school. Building snowman, snowball fights with their mom and dad, sledding.

But then they get inside the house, and they’re fuzzy, shivering messes. Their mother has to reassure them with a nice bath, warm pajamas and hot chocolate.

As for them as ghost, probably the same. They go outside to play with their friends, then go back inside being displeased because they are on the verge of being icicles. Hanako fuzzes to Tsuchigomori, and Sakura notices Tsukasa hogging all of the heaters.

Aoi likes quiet winter nights, as she is a night/afternoon person, and less of a morning person.

Teru says he wants to go outside and play, but probably has too much stuff to do to take a break. Exorcise, homework, student President things, ect. He’s also on the weak to cold side.

I like how he still is innerly a small child that just wants to do the stuff that every other kid ( Whether they’re a small child or a teen ) does. Aftermath of him being mature as a young kid and now as a 15 year old having an inner child to revive.

Sakura doesn’t like the cold, much like myself I guess. It’s the autism and sensitivity to cold.

Sumire also.

Yokoo can’t exercise of do sports when it’s snowing outside. I was kind of surprised he exercised at all, at his 13 years of age.

Fairy is frozen.

Tsuchigomori is fatherest on the weak to cold side. Doesn’t even want to bother going outside.

Now to the right, we have two romances. Natsuhiko and Nene!

A moment that you’d like Iro-sensei to write in the manga ?

Speaking from my heart, there are far too many moments I want Iro-sensei to write...

Usually I try and be humble and balance my expectations with umm, almost what seems most 'logical' from a writing standpoint — given the trajectory of the plot, with these details, what is this character most likely to do, and what would be interesting, etc... It's kinda like doing math equations. This is also why me and Avvy tend to think more 'broadly', trying to propose a general path of events. But expectations are different from desire...

I would say the 'point' of the manga is the great prevailing mystery of the Yugi twins' past. That is what Nene-chan is spellbound by, no? The story drip feeds us fragments of their childhood through memories, cryptic dialogue; all brief flashes, to keep Nene's head spinning, pining for a conclusion. So... naturally... the thing I am most obsessed about is getting to see that conclusion... Which I'm sure is a feeling many fans feel lol, but, I can admit as a kinnie there are various 'gut feelings' I want to have validated, in particular. Heart truths.

I really, really wish we could see that... whatever was going on with the rope-ritual between the Yugi, the year before they died, was something that Amane either instigated or encouraged himself.

I do not see the bandaged 13 yo Amane as some sort of shuddering, pathetic victim... Plenty of art of him has, a sort of crazy quality I feel I can't begin to describe. It's something like, absolute certainty in one's action, or smugness, or satisfaction. Put-on carefreeness...

Look at how certain I am of my decision! <- Interwoven with that is this grim severity we see in a clock-tuning or key-holding Amane... so, so serious. That looks like a guy who has it in him to stab his brother in the chest.

He's definitely tormented by something, enough to wish time would just stop — I'm of the belief that Amane was trying to resist some element of 'growing up'. Time is his enemy, because expectations and responsibility will require him to separate from the childish closeness he has with Tsukasa. 'Growing up', becoming some sort of respectable astronaut, move out, get a job, etc... How does Tsukasa slot into all that? Tsukasa who, doesn't seem to have any ambitions of his own, and can't seem to survive in any timeline... I think there was a boiling point... What was once a dream that brought Amane hope, became soured as it was more of an inevitable reality that would separate him and Tsukasa. Something to be dreaded. Which leads to events like, emotionally ripping up papers reporting the moon landing, and the great I'm Not Going Anywhere speech.

Anyways, to get more specific, as for a moment I'd specifically like to see, to convey all this-!! I really want Amane to be the one pushing to be bound and roughed up by Tsukasa. I think it would be earth-shattering, in a delicious way, to have learned it was Amane's idea!! The scraped-up boy with rope burns, being bandaged by his teacher, deemed a bullied child by Nene — what if that was so very far from the truth! Can you imagine-!! It's that kind of 'twist on a twist on a twist' that I think Iro-sensei likes to write as well.

First you meet Hanako, the unusually powerful seventh mystery. Then you find he was once a friendless, bandaged boy, and you see him unwound by his mysterious twin appearing! He's more vulnerable and tragic than you think... oh, but he has as scary side too! He's over-protective and controlling! But he has a soft spot for his twin... who he owns-!? Because his twin is his yorishiro! Something he wanted to protect! Wait, but what's this, a memory of him proving his loyalty by choosing to submit to Tsukasa!? Amane letting himself be bound up and chewed on-!? Wait, but then he's still going to flip out and stab this twin, that he is permitting to attack him!? What's this guy's deal!!?!??! (stupid brocon.)

Imagiiine the visuals solidifying this as well... I so often think about Amane passively holding up his wrists to be bound. Upward turned, clearly 'offering self' to the red rope... If I had to pick, that's the panel I want more than anything-! I'd never ask for anything ever again lol. (Or maybe I'd become so arrogant I'd feel entitled to even more? w)

Besides that, I have hopes for things on Tsukasa's end, such as, becoming listless and unwell in that last year before he is killed... Despite having been excited and curious about Amane killing him as a child, as years pass and Amane is still enigmatic about his feelings towards him, I kinda hope it got to Tsukasa and left him uncertain about whether or not Amane "should" just have a normal life without him, anyways... If there were tensions building at home, and Tsukasa has no prospective career for a future, perhaps Tsukasa could even come to dread? Regret? His childish impulse to return? 'I really shouldn't have come back...'

Perhaps 12 yo Tsu we see, pressing Amane to make a decision, is on the precipice of some greater listlessness... I'm always holding out for Tsukasa being ah, truly suicidal, and unable to see his own self-worth. Always the pleaser, wish-granter, never prioritizing himself. It's why, in some manner, the shinjuu has to be some sort of counter gesture, tethering him to Amane for all eternity. Amane's way of making sure you don't go anywhere ever again... without saying anything, of course. -_-;

More recently, due to the current arc, I've been thinking about Nene having time-travel powers! That would just be so cool and OP... I really want it! I'm sure there'll be a lot of rules and convoluted logic to it, but god, I love what sort of... magical goddess quality this would imbue Nene-chan. I keep thinking about her sort of haunting the Yugi twins' life, in little blips of the past. I want her to spend more time with 12 yo Tsu and converse with him... I think a lot about them walking quietly through some, environment, some atmospheric space, and talking as they go. And as they do, Nene hears Tsukasa talk with a kind of sad certainty, revealing how he thinks of himself as ancillary, unnecessary, in some way... and Nene drinks this in, sad for Tsukasa. Relating to him, even? (Ideally...) Anyways Nene should opt to kiss him, give him a peck. This lil guy... and it'll create some time shennanigans where yorishiro Tsukasa was just reciprocating w

Also due to recent events, I want Nene advocating for and standing up for Tsukasa in some way... whether it's during the trial or, some other moment. In general I'm waiting for the moment things click for Nene and she actually feels a sense of preciousness for Tsukasa, that she wants to act on... I feel like everything happening right now is meant to slow-cook her until she is ready for such a thing.

Me and Avvy were also discussing that, ultimately if Amane was the one to prompt Nene to peel No. 1's yorishiro, that would be interesting... After all her fuss and resistance towards Tsukasa, to just have Amane command her to do the same, and not really give her any other choice, I like the thought. I'd want him to be that kind of, cold smiley-smiley way he can get, stern... No room to argue... Unsettling, considering all we went through.

Ah, this is an older desire but, I still ultimately want Nene to experience the shinjuu either... 1. directly in the presence of it, somehow watching from, a closet or crack in the door or, something insane like that, or, 2. after peeling Tsukasa's yorishiro seal, she is inundated with a deluge of memory and experiences it from Tsukasa's own perspective. I'd be moooost delighted by 2, but I think 1 would be scary and cinematic as well.

For Nene experiencing the memories... This feels like, beyond-possible-just-pure-fanfic-delusion, but, ah. I think about how a yorishiro presents memories that are tied to them, they basically embody the memory of when they left a profound impression on the mystery. It's why you see Yako being given the scissors by Misaki, Tsuchigomori receiving the moon rock from Amane, etc... And while inside the inner sanctum of Hakubo's boundary, Nene actually did see Sumire's memories herself-! They seeped into her... I wonder, does a human yorishiro mean that you would be experiencing their perspective directly? And, beyond that, is a human yorishiro's defining moment, simply their entire time they spent with the mystery?

If Nene could experience Sumire's childhood memories of Hakubo... then, god, can you imagine her the deluge of preciousness shared between Tsukasa and Amane? They've been together since birth... would she be tabbing through memories of, ages 2, 5, 8, 10 — years and years of moments together? Moments emblematic of why Amane is protective of Tsukasa? (That would just mean moments where Amane is loving Tsukasa, in the vein of the shooting star scene in PP...) It's not realistic at all but I wish Nene could basically experience swaths of, hours, days, weeks, magically living through Tsukasa, experiencing things he's seen and heard and felt. Observing Amane attentively throughout it. So that way Nene can see, herself, what it was like to grow up with Amane... to have Amane loomed over, clutching that knife. Making that very good face. If I had it my way, that's how it would go...

As a bonus, my 'ending' thoughts for JSHK are, that Nene gets the wish from God and kind of Madoka style rewrites the timeline with the Ultimate Wish from everything she has learned. And then we see her and the twins as lil kids about to spend their childhood together, idyllically.

In Narisokonai Snow White, the Ambrose twins and princess Neige are essentially robbed of a childhood shared between them all. Despite this, Aida-sensei drew her own imaginings of 'what if?' for them together. I like to think JSHK is going to finally show what it would be like, if such a dream came to be. I look at this image like a talisman. A symbol of hope. A beautiful fantasy. I want it to come true!!! I will sit here and believe it can come true. *lays on my back in the middle of a calm ocean*

so mafuyu is from project sekai and she is the depressed one with the dead eyes ! her entire story is that she keeps up a facade of being a perfect, well-put together student because her mother is super hard on her. in actuality, mafuyu feels consumed by everyone else's expectations and lacks an identity of her own. as her story progresses she meets Ena, Kanade, and Mizuki who form the unit Nightcord at 25:00 (idk the jpn name but the abbreviation for them is 25ji which is what i'll be calling them) and they produce music together ! Mafuyu also had her own little music producing thing on the side beforehand (idk if she still does it tbh, i haven't read most stories) and Kanade described her music as very sad.

so ! as the story goes on Mafuyu bonds with the other members of 25ji while hiding them from her mother. During one story, Mafuyu skips school to hang out with 25ji and tanks a test or something and that gets her mother to start snooping into her life, later taking away her keyboard that she uses to make music with and her computer, saying that talking to people and making music are taking up too much of her time.

In the most recent story Mafuyu finally stands up to her mom and explains that she loves music and wants to keep making it, and that she doesn't want to be a doctor (what her mother is pushing her to become) and actually wants to be a nurse. Mafuyu hopes she's gotten through to her mother, but in actuality her mother just doubles down and freaks out on her. At the end of the story Mafuyu has run away from home and is staying with Kanade for the time being !

so. yeah. depressed, crushed by parental expectations, and lacking agency in her own life ! also she's totally like. transmac nb to me. he/they mafu my world

What are your thoughts on the red house arc with Tsukasa? (Do you believe there’s a fake Tsukasa,)

hi Anon!

I ADORED the red house arc!! and like most fans, I was obsessed with baby Tsukasa and screamed every time we got a new chapter with him (although I scream every new chapter tbh)

I got lots of panels and all their offiial art and fanart in an album bdjesjjd I loved them sm and Tsukasa's point of view was amazing. I think this arc was nicely written and the panels were stunning<33

I already loved Tsukasa's character but this gave more light on him and finally getting Yugi twin backstory was so satisfyinggg

anyways this arc proved the time loop theory I was on so that means I got a theory train right, and I too thought there was a fake Tsukasa like the entire fandom and then by the end we were all proven wrongly and that sheds even MORE light on how he acts and why he only occasionally has black colored eyes because if his spirit we see really is the Red House demon then wouldn't his eyes be black more? instead its always when he grants a wish (or something similar) and I think that's an amazing detail, except when he was granting Shijima's wish, but the dark eyes were an amazing touch and even shown that they reside for the demon only, not Tsukasa. I don't have any crazy theories about what "really" happened because it was explained to us.

baby Tsukasa made his wish, was stuck in a version of the red house created by the demon as his price for his wish, he stays there for a long time, untill Kou and Nene come into the red house and he gets to meet them, he stays by them, and then Kou tells him his brother will kill him, and Tsukasa decides to go back, which he said himself he's always had the option too, and knew how too, and the demon in his chest even asks if he is, meaning it wasn't against the red house, but they went back together. using "we" would imply that and he says so here

they go back a year after he disappears, meaning that the real Tsukasa always did come back to his family after so long, but with the demon. which is what his mother saw.

and this explains why Tsukasa is always granting wish's from the heart, he states it, but this gives reason. and I LOVE that about his character! he's so intent on letting people give every side of themselves to learn about them(honestly hate to be the Tsukasa kinnie but I do too, it's interesting learning how different other ppl can be)

and in almost every ending panel we see he talks about wanting to know his brother more and is so intrigued (?) that his brother, who claimed to love him even after their intense fight, would kill him, no wonder he thinks Amane hates him...

although I know it's a demon and all but the heart demon(?/red house) doesn't seem to say much and even gets a speech bubble of dots, and in this panel I wonder if the heart demon didn't even know he could leave?

is Tsukasa telling the secret to Kou or the demon? because what does that imply about what baby Tsukasa is capable of? he is already very smart at the age of five and is even capable of burning a house down without hesitation. although his speech is still so cute because he can't talk as fluidly jsjsjs. but we see Tsukasa harm the house with fire, but he also has the demon in his chest, does that mean there's a difference? or are they separate prices to pay? is the "God" and the demon the same or different?

does Tsukasa take so much interest in taking things like a heart or mind because his is plagued by a demon and hasn't had a clear one in centuries? ah this is why tbhk is a mystery manga...

it is very upsetting that they thought they could help but we're actually the ones to start the main time loop and make him kill his brother :(

although it's unclear on what fate Tsukasa changed, because we don't know what Amane's original fate was, sense he got sick it would make sense if he died considering how bad he was and even the doctors didn't think he'd make it. so it'd make sense if Tsukasa changed his fate to Tsuchigomori's book, and instead sacrificed his own, but the book's fate didn't align which was because Nene kept time traveling, which made him even wish on the wishing slip

which wouldn't have been triggered if Nene didn't mess with the supernatural, and didn't meet Hanako, which shouldn't have happened in the first place since he wasn't supposed to die at thirteen. and Nene even met him at twelve-thirteen and got his keychain. so what did Tsukasa exactly change here? he went and made a wish from a God, to protect his brother and save him, and then came back so he'd kill him? Kou told him that he'd die after killing him so was Tsukasa's anger that much? was he that upset about it that he'd be okay with him dying at a young age? or did he not realize just how short he'd gotten to live? so many Yugi questions...

anyways I loved the interactions we got, and our trio. the babysitters, also the time loop triggers, stop making their backstory more depressing >:[

but the interactions were worth it djgdudbdu

I loved how different the parenting skills were, and how much Kou just was bullying him was amazing and how he didn't want to put up with a child version of the guy he hates, but he's still just a kid. so Kou acts decent. but mainly using him and finding him annoying

and the parent carrying skills are top notch!! they were so funny. but also angst fest because they both got family problemsss.

and Nene was just an awesome parent, and was so ready to take Tsukasa to hell and back, so he can live his life with his brother ofc.... totally not just because she adopted him or anything ehe~

she treats children so well odbsujd mom Nene rights

anyways sad we didn't get more of all three of them tbh

because they were just the silliest, and the difference in attitudes were hilarious

they were everything to me (besides the navigation gang and the sunflower trio) and KouNene is already so fun, and adding this quirky baby Tsukasa in the mix????? a m a z i n g

CHAPTER 108 THOUGHTS!

God, I don’t even know where to start.

I like how Teru is also mesmerized by the Clock Keepers’ boundary, every character has been. Tsukasa, Nene, myself including.

Reminds me of that one time where Mitsuba tried to sneak away. It says ‘sneak’.

C’mon Aida, making everything look so cute. I didn’t notice this at first until someone mentioned it.

I don’t think you’re supposed to handle it like that Teru.

Getting right to the point though.

I hear a lot of people say ‘Terukane betrayal’ and I totally agree, I knew we were going to get one soon, it’s apart of every TBHK relationship. There has to be a betrayal!

But I don’t think we should hate Akane for this, I know the hate might pass, but still. He’s a Clock Keeper and the Clock Keepers are responsible for handling their business’s, like every other seven mystery. And I really don’t think Akane would have done this if he had an option, he did hesitate at first.

He hates supernatural after all.

I will always remember this moment, it’ll always be in the back of my head.

I don’t know why this was so special to me, but, seeing Tsu be vulnerable.. I don’t know.

I mean, when is the last time we’ve seen him like this? Probably never? If I were to recall, I couldn’t.

This chapter and most likely the next is going to be when we see a vulnerable Tsukasa instead of the usual op one.

It’s just something I’ve wanted to see for a while.

Nene, still being fantastical, still trying to follower her dreams. I gotta love it, we’ve gotta love Nene for trying to be a princess even when captured ( But she already is a princess in my book 🫶🏽 ).

I see too many people say that Tsukasa is also a helpless princess in this case, and I love it.

I think Aidalro is trying to show us a mentally tired Tsu isn’t of the adrenaline junkie Tsu we always see. But I’m still loving it, because it’s something we don’t see often. Him being all broody and depressed, like Amane. They really are alike.

All you gotta do is run Tsukasa out of fun stimuli, and this is what you get. A bored, depressed, underestimated Tsukasa.

His brother never came when he called for him, I assuming he’s referring to when he was ( possibly ) stuck in Hanako’s boundary, and whenever he called for Amane, he never came.

This broke my heart. And when I first read this, I read this in French class. I had to push all of my emotions back inside so I wouldn’t look like I was having a stroke. But this made me so sad.

Plz, I want to give Tsukasa the biggest hug he’s probably never received in a long time.

Also, ‘twin powers’. I’m such a Nene kinnie because I really believed twins had powers. Telepathy. Omg.

I love how this is something I didn’t catch while reading this in class.

Tsukasa let go of his hold on the breaking cage to catch Nene, who was about to fall, and then he ended up falling to.

Don’t ask me how I missed that, because at first I was confused on how he also fell. I think I was so busy trying to read everything before class ended.

But I realized his hands were also in restraints, so he had to completely let go of the cage and catch Nene with his arms.

I don’t understand how people could not love these two.

Realization hits him, he really let go of the cage, to save Nene. And now they were both falling.

Also, something that I saw someone else say is that the thing Tsu says, the three lines, is supposed to mean something with ‘three syllables’ being said, and Amane’s name has three syllables.

Again, with the most innocent intentions in the world.
