You know, if there had ever been a Dark Forces V, I'd have wanted it to follow Kyle and probably Jaden through the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Kyle Katarn basically being a combo of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo’s personalities/roles (snarky, tough loner + Jedi) feels like somebody making Dark Forces looked at Lone Star from Spaceballs where they combined Luke and Han for the parody and was like “Brilliant idea, we should make an official version of that!”

Side note, I once brought up Dark Forces to my Dad about how it was the original Rogue One, and I was quite surprised to find that he not only played the first game back when it came out in the 90’s, despite not playing many games himself, but that he still remembered Kyle’s full name even over 25 years later and not having played the game in the 21st century. I was very impressed.
