Hello um, I was the anon who told you that I thought Makarov and Graves were the same person when I was still new

Well I don't have the game nor I have the gadgets to play it to know the lore and I have some questions...

• What's the difference between Makarov and Graves? And who really is the one who killed Soap? (Deeply sorry if anyone seeing this got spoiled)

• Who's Valeria? I've been seeing edits of her and I know she has something to do with bombs in the lore but that's all I know (unfortunately)

• Are KorTac and TF141 enemies or they completely do not know each other at all

• What's the general idea or the summary of the lore of Modern Warfare 2?

It's fine if you can't answer all or some of it, I'm not really trying to dig into the lore but I need some clearance up because sometimes when I read fanfictions about COD, I read stuff that's part of the lore and I have 0 context about it, also I want to show genuine interest in COD because I don't want people to think that I'm just here for the hot characters (I am) Because I don't wanna be *that* type of girl that the COD fandom hates *cough* annoying girl who says she's a fan of COD but has 0 knowledge about the lore *cough*

I really hope I explained it as well as I can♡

1. Makarov is the main antagonist of Call Of Duty Modern Warfare both the original version and the now reboot although in MW1 he didn't appear at all and wasn't even mentioned, and in MW2 he was a background antagonist. He's the leader of the the Ultranationalist Konni PMC group who want to 'restore glory to Russia' and basically control the world. It was Makarov who killed Soap in both the og series and in the reboot although in the original it was indirectly by an explosion he caused and in the reboot he shot him in the head.

Philip Graves served as an secondary antagonist in MW2. He's the commander and founder of the PMC group Shadow Company and he was working closely with General Shepherd and then 141 during the events of capturing Hassan in Al-Mazrah. He betrayed the 141 on orders from Shepherd and then supposedly died, killed by Soap and Rodolfo Parra from the Mexican Special Forces in the epilogue of MW2 but then in one of the Season Episodes(?) it turned out he didn't die and is still working with Shepherd now to capture Makarov.

He didn't have a role as big in MW3 as he had in MW2 but he returned to work alongside 141 again before he was put on trial together with Shepherd but, as it turned out, he betrayed the general to save his own ass and denied everything he did in MW2.

2) Valeria Garza also known as 'El Sin Hombre' "The Nameless" is a drug lord/cartel lord who was an antagonist in MW2 when 141 worked with the Mexican Special Forces while in Mexico where they hunted for Hassan. She was the one who ruled in Las Almas with an iron fist and helped Hassan to escape from the military/transport the missiles. She was captured and put in prison but in Season 2 (I think) it showed her escaping the prison and for now her whereabouts aren't known.

3) KorTac and 141 as far as in game campaign canon goes they never met or worked together. I don't really know if this is really canon or fanon but as far as we know they're opposite fractions and are enemies.

4) MW2 has quite many storylines, the general main one is that Task Force 141 chase and have to capture Major Hassan Zyani, an Al-Quatala member who wanted revenge for General Ghorbrani, another terrorist who was killed in the prologue. During an attack on a base where Hassan supposedly was, Ghost and Soap discovered american ballistic missiles that had absolutely no business being there.

From there on it was a chase after Hassan and the missiles and how did Al-Quatala get them. It turned out that it was General Shepherd who ordered the missiles moved in an 'under the radar' operation with the help of Shadow Company because he wanted to send them to the Middle East (supposedly to aid Farah Karim) but the convoy who was responsible for moving the missiles was attacked and killed by Konni soldiers who then took them over and ultimately sold to Al-Quatala. Shepherd and Graves covered the incident and because the 141 + Laswell and Mexican Special Forces were close to finding them out, Shepherd ordered Graves to kill them.

Graves was declared K.I.A after Soap and Rudy exploded the tank he was supposedly in and Valeria later admitted that the last missile out of three was heading with Hassan for Chicago where then they moved and ultimately killed Hassan. In an ending scene it was revealed that now 141 are chasing after Vladimir Makarov therefore kickstarting the events of MW3.

As you said that, Raph almost dropped it. Causing you to let out a sigh while the turtle carefully stacked the small pile of fragile boxes in his arms.

Ever since that day, you became aware of him and his family.

Donnie very much keeps his distance. Especially after collecting some data of your past fights. The one that almost made him throw up was, a thief lucky to survive stab wounds above the stomach area. From you, utilizing a traffic cone connector snapped in half as a temporary dual-wield weapon.

No chuckling response was enough for Leo to know that. He needed to cool it with some jokes at your direction. Its one of the few times he'll be serious because he got tired of Raph being lovesick around you.

Mikey made some decent progress being your friend but, still carefully waits for the right timing to talk to you. Usually when you have a decent day or during laidback movie nights.

If you tag along during any of the night patrols, Raph is usually the one that patches you up.

- You sometimes do a double take because, at least one of the bandages near your wrist will be tied into a ribbon. (Mostly noticing it until you get back home)

The boy is very eager when you teach him some new fighting moves. However, it always devolves into absurd antics that spiral out of control.

- One of the few times, you had to swallow your pride and call Leo for help. Because the snapping turtle thought it would be a cool idea to impress you by lifting a nearby outdoor electric panel box. As a new object to throw at opponents. Nope, he passed out within 3 minutes.

"Like, he tried to lift a school bus that guarded a pet cat that's part praying mantis."

"At least two times before we parked the bus back in its place."

I'm so sorry for freaking out...

I've been trying to get a handle on my emotions, but I feel like I'm in a downward spiral a lot of the time - I come from DeviantArt and Discord where things have been rough to say the least, and it gives me a LOT of paranoia for other sites. I had to leave the Murdle Discord server after I was scolded for being too affectionate to my murdlers. That as well as my psychiatrist not giving me a straight answer on whether I have autism (my god what do I have why will no one tell me) really takes a number on my ability to talk to people and create art

I am essentially void of human companionship aside from talking to a couple people through Discord (mostly raven) and Fletch (who is my blood-related sister so it's a little different lol) and it's made me crazy lmao. All I ever want is to be loved no matter how cheesy it sounds <3

The fake 50-car garage, the fake hair-textured grass, the fake cauldron-sized bed… it’s all FAKE. Just like everything that Irratino gave him… Logico’s tears flood as he remembers the past two season finales. He can scarcely tell which was worse. He sees robots of the Duke, and Brownstone, and Azure, and Obsidian…? The Obsidian robot looks a LITTLE too realistic, and it makes him uncomfortable. He hasn't thought about Obsidian since the first season!

Ranking the Miracucast by how willing they are to attempt bingewatching the entirety of One Piece in one sitting.

Marinette: She wanted to when she heard Adrien was going to be there. So she's willing. But she just doesn't have the TIME. Between school and heroics and helping out at the shop and commissions and literally everything else ever, watching One Piece in one go doesn't have a chance of ever happening. 3/10

Alya: She and Nino are the ones who set up the bingewatch party, but a reporter's work is never done so she just kind of has it on in the background while she works on her latest post. It's on continuously, but she's definitely not there for all of it. 5/10

Adrien: Yes. 10/10

Nino: See Alya, except he actually tries to watch it because he wants to ensure all his friends are having a good time. Of course, the group lasted about a day before they gave up, but the attempt was there. 6/10

Chloe: Two options: she thinks the whole idea is ridiculous and isn't watching (0/10) OR she thinks the whole idea is ridiculous but also wanted to join Adrien. She makes the mistake of watching a few episodes and now she's INVESTED (8/10). Could go either way. 4/10 on average.

Sabrina: This girl watches so much anime in her downtime. Look at her. You know it's true. She would never tell Chloe, but after the great Boss/Minion Breakup of Season 5 Sabrina has all the time in the world and she is using it to watch One Piece. 8/10

Mylene: Thinks the show is charming but not all that interesting to her. But can bingewatch it with Ivan and cuddle up against his giant teddy bear body while basically ignoring the show and that's fine with her. 4/10

Ivan, Rose, Juleka, and Luka: Kitty Section as a whole loves this show to bits and when they all realized they had a two-week vacation they knew what they would be doing. Anarka basically had to host a One Piece summer camp on the Liberty for the six of them (including Adrien as part of the band, and Mylene as Ivan's +1), and they slept in shifts to ensure that they didn't have to stop the show. It was a whole fiasco. They will never do anything like this ever again. They returned to school tired and sore and in agonizing pain. Luka's hands are in excruciating pain because he just HAD to play along with the sheer emotion of the show, Ivan accidentally passed out and crushed his desk, and Adrien's modeling shoots had to be postponed until he could fix his posture after sitting so long. Even Juleka looked tired, and she never looks tired. Mylene was fine because she basically slept though most of it, but Rose is somehow still bursting with energy. "We should do that again sometime! That was really fun!" Cue a chorus of groans. 11/10

Kim: I'm not sure if Kim knows what anime is. Like, I want to say he knows, but at the same time, does he really? I genuinely have no clue. Can someone please help me here? The mind of Kim is a mind I don't think anyone can truly decipher. ?/10

Max: He has done the math. He knows how long it would take. He's not suicidal. But he does like the show, and will make token appearances at his friends' watch parties. 2/10

Alix: Sorry Alix, this is not a situation you can cheat your way through using time travel. No, Alix, having each episode open on a different viewing port playing simultaneously does not count. No points for you. -Alix/10

Nathaniel: Tried to get Marc to do it. Marc thankfully talked him out of it. Nath still dreams of doing it one day. 4/10, potential to eventually reach 9/10 if he can wear Marc down.

Lila: Says she's done it. But the entirety of Kitty Section knows she's lying. That kind of thing leaves a mark on people. 0/10

Kagami: Adrien told her where he learned most of his Japanese vocabulary from and she just facepalmed. And then sat down to watch it with him. She'd definitely not watching all of it, but she'll enjoy some in her free time? 5/10

Marc: He can see the hunger in Nathaniel's eyes. He can feel it emanating. The One Piece fan in Nath wants to come out and stay out. Marc will not let it. He will hold the line. He will never give up, never surrender. But he can feel the power, clawing at his brain. The secret feelings, deep down. "Don't you want to see if you COULD do it?" He shoves those thoughts deeper. Nathaniel can never know. Must never know. Because then the battle will be lost. 1/10

Ondine: Actually knows what anime is, and probably has the physical fortitude to make it through a One Piece marathon with minimal physical backlash. Unfortunately her actually doing that would be dependent on Kim (see above) so I hope you understand why this ranking isn't a certain as I would like. 7/10

Aurore: Not on your life. 0/10

Felix: He would never marathon the whole thing himself, but he did provide Adrien and the rest of Kitty Section with their sleep schedule for their marathon. 2/10

Zoe: She has dreamed of marathoning an anime her entire life, and now she has friends to marathon anime with! But she's not doing One Piece. That would be an absolute nightmare, only insane people try to marathon all of One Piece. Instead she has Plans. One Piece is cool tho. 4/10

You’d probably like the album The Skeleton Man most, as it’s set in a dystopian, western dustbowl. The heroes are trying to find a cure for a magical, body changing plague. You can read more here.

Then there’s Bone Crown (my favourite). It’s set before The Skeleton Man and in the same world, but it tells a story of animal civil war!! wowsers. Tyrant fox king, world destroying forest fires, you get the idea!! Read more here

Finally, Thaumatrope. I have the least knowledge about the story of this album (both due to lack of info online and my tendency to get distracted while listening to the album and tuning it out). I believe it’s set in the same world, and follows the story of a couple travelling through the mountains, of loss and conquering death.

Okay SONGS!!!!! first from The Coyote Kid. Tough Kids - Probably the most western of this album, beginning with lovely whistles adding a vEry western twang, and creates imagery of wind whistling in a barren landscape, both setting the scene and highlighting how ALONE these kids are. This in combination with the banjo like strumming of guitars paints the setting of the Dustbowl, desolate and westernnnnn ooo yeah. The layered vocals during the chorus creates the idea of a desperate group of kids with a pack like mentality, desperate to survive in this barren, left for dead world.

Prowler - I lOVe the deep, gritty guitar(? or bass) sections in this one, creates the idea of a growling, distorted and distended beast, no longer human but twisted by the plague into a monster. It both describes the Prowlers, and the fear they cause in others. Then after the chorus, sustained notes sound almost like a howl, showing how the humans in this world can easily be poisoned by the plague and slip into sickness, and even that humans and prowlers are not so different after all.

Strange Days - One of the more westerny ones, with callbacks to the first track in its lyrics. The creeping fear of knowing your friend is changing irreversibly for the worse, and you are incapable of stopping it. The pitch shifting plucking, grainy vocals and chains and scraping of metal as background noises during the bridge (????) makes everything feel wrong.

Other mentions: Destroyer of Worlds- Such a fun funky song: death incarnate going clothes shopping.

Run- Slowly building tension, desperately holding onto life, the carnal fear of being hunted. The vocals stay low and hushed, until the fear catches up and becomes realised in a yelling, almost far off, outpouring.

Skeleton Man- Less westerny but my personal favourite of this album(mostly due to lots of emotions related to it). Letting yourself rest after years of stress, returning home at last, acceptance even though it hurts. Looking back at how far you’ve come, nostalgia.

Bone Crown songs!!!! Black Mamba - I love this song sO MUCH, it’s got some of my favourite lyrics in it (Shape shifting shadow snakes oOOKAYYYYY!!!) and a lovely extended metaphor of the fire being a snake, almost as though it was cunning and intentional: an avatar sent by fate to punish the Bear for his actions. And punish the Bear the fire does!!!! the menacing bass and powerful trombone create the idea of an inescapable wall of fire and pain, eventually slowing down in its rampage, leaving the Bear alone with only the drums and guilt and the knowledge none but him and the owl escaped the fire. This is followed by a raw and desperate vocal performance, as the Bear is overwhelmed by the consequences of his actions, until the Bear falls silent as the drums are cut short. ( can you tell this is my favourite song shhsgsgdhgdgdh)

Fox Hole - full of lively trumpets and drums : a celebration of the Fox King and an embodiment of his subjects unwavering trust in him, until the regal trumpets are slowly replaced by the warning blasts of the trombone toward the end of the song - hinting at the idea that not all is right with the fox king and foreshadowing his descent into madness.

Other mentions : Bone Crown- I have a soft spot for this one as it introduced me to all of this!!! Scornfully looking apon the enemy you are about to cRUSH. Love the brass.

Fisticuffs- The pace of the guitar creates the idea of youthful energy and overconfidence. The Bear is rearing for a fight, full of righteous anger. It’s kinda the training arc of this album.

Everybody Knows - The deep brass in the opening feels like the distain, hatred and fear of others. Being shunned, full of anger and the knowledge of being completely alone.

Thaumatrope time!!!!! Northern Born- The most western in this album!! I love the vocal performance in the chorus: desperation and yearning for everything to be okay again. Very good song but i am slowly losing the ability to make comments. Just trust me with this one. If you want to listen to any out of this album, I think you’d like this one most!

Other mentions : Willow Tree- I have an animatic spinning in my head whenever i listen to this song. I love the build up in this song. Accepting your flaws (maybe a bit to readily (the flaws are mass murder))

Holy Water- I just love all the vibes in this song. The distortion of the vocals. Probably the most similar to The New Dark Age (spoken, slow building of dread and tension).

Ok FINAL ONE SINGLESSSS. In short they’re both fab and I think they’d both be right up your alley, as both very westerny. Neither have attached storylines.

Good Intentions- Verbal Gunfight. Or the taunting before a gunfight. Very westerny and one of the most upbeat sounding and danceable ones. The funky synths makes it feel almost like a futuristic western gunfight with crazy cool futuristic guns. Both are scornful and think of themselves as superior. It’s simultaneously fun and threatening.

Trigger Finger - Feels like a game of poker, with enemies on all sides. Backed into a corner, only able to use your wits to escape. Desperately planning an escape route, alone in a darkened room with your enemies literally betting against you. I could say more but my brain is kind of anlalysised out.

the first sketch is so funny to me i put all my energy into sam and then went eh fuck dat for the other two AHAHAHAHA im sorry i swear i have better sketches of vitor and uri im too lazy to pull them out

initially i wanted the soldier poet king themeing hence the arrangement (sam soldier, vitor poet, uri king), n u can see here that uri was supposed to have a blood splatter crown for the 'king' part but it wasnt coming out right.. i really had 0 idea what to do w her background until i Had to do it. it was just all trial n error and i was working until 4am so brother were there Errors. but i think it came out nice in the end! and while drawing i realized uri's themed after the king of diamonds/hearts so it looped back into the king themeing luckily AHAAHHAA

speaking of uri's bg tho, one random detail i like that somehow made it better for me was this streak at the back which could be interpreted as a river of blood OR smoke from a gun. cool fun stuff

i also wanted to do a thing w the composition where its like.. this is so scuffed but this. just so their poses didnt look completely random? sam n uri have one arm folded and the other doing whatever, while both of vitor's arms are folded. so it kinda has some sense of cohesion

and the border! i am a big fan. i took a lot of inspo from the tarot card series ive yet to continue. here's a wip image of it from april though. u can see the similarities of it w the one here!

THE top is the symbol i use for twp, which is a butterfly with eyes and the morse code for SOS. its encased in whats supposed to be the portal w 7 tentacles coming out of it to represent eri's 7 fragments!

as for the side border, its supposed to be quiro, lanluy, burmelio, then kh'elle, which is the order of the kingdoms the spinoff party visits in their adventure!!!! u can also see the morse code repeated :3

lastly their body language! sam is closed off, quite literally shielding their heart w their sword. they both look ready to strike but defend too.

vitor is juggling but i also wanted it to look like he's shrugging! to represent his kinda go with the flow attitude, but also how his arc has themes of being left in the dark bc my ouppy is a . fucking. dumbass

u can also see above that at first uri's pose had her holding the book closer to her but it made for a bad silhouette.. and it felt more ic to me to have her have a more open pose? bc she's eager to learn and spunky and confident!

e knee way those are just my extra thoughts on this piece. i had a lot of fun making it and i hope u have just as much fun Looking at it HAHHAHAHA im really proud of this one >_<

Can't show images but actually looking over his page, he rarely explicitly mentions god, but I think he's still religious in some capacity.

(I'm tempted to believe that he may be not mentioning god so he doesn't push people away with his beliefs, as the only time he mentions him is in replies to his ONCE skin, which is clearly religious and this wouldn't turn people away by being so (+ he seems to have more self esteem here) but I might be biased)

you explained your point fine I just like have a pretty solid idea of what I think about Andrew that I won't lie I'm not very willing to budge on.... I'm fr sorry if I sound rude or stubborn, I don't mean it and your interpretations are cool and valid😭 😭

one thing I will admit, however, is that saying "Andrew isn't religious" doesn't explain what I mean well. What I mean is that I don't think he's devoted himself to religion for the reasons that I think most people would expect someone to be religious. I think the reason is more that he's been labelled as a "devil" or something evil his whole life because of his albinism and that's basically made him believe that he can't achieve salvation naturally and essentially has to treat it as a pay-to-win game, not necessarily due to actual belief.

Andrew feeling like malicious people shouldn't be allowed to be buried in Laz is like.... prime him being a hypocrite to me tbh. I don't necessarily think that Andrew is malicious but he's committing grave robbery and then selling the bodies, which like obviously I don't have to say why that's not good. Something that I do find ironic though is that he hadn't actually done anything wrong up until that point, his devotion to getting into the temple kind of led him into doing bad things.

Hi anon sorry for the long wait for this, unfortunately the more I looked at my psds for this gifset the more things I saw that just aren't like basic gifing knowledge. I simply did not know where to start. Anyways I tried to go and find the tutorials that helped me when I was just learning those techniques or wtv inspired me to use them instead, because they are all very details and explain way better than I could, along the way I'll give you a few tips to make your life easier

My very first tip would be to not do all those things at the same time, learn one technique at a time please, for your own sanity

STEP 0 : basic gifs

You need to have basic gifmaking knowledge, if you don't here's a good tutorial that pretty much touch everything

Here's a few tips for when you are about to start :

You need to have an idea of what you want to do before you start cutting anything aka

what's the theme of the gifset : that will help you separate how many concepts you gonna have because of that theme

once you have the concept : how many gifs are necessary to get the concept across and what lines from the show are you gonna use, how would you write those lines and your own comments to be as clear as possible (I advises test them by sending them to friends when you are done before publishing)

what is the layout of each gif gonna look like, do you need to search (pixabay or vectorstock) for some shapes in png

Once you have like most of that, you can start choosing scenes and cutting but not before because trust me you gonna over work if you don't do this

Example : So my theme was Yak being a green flag, I have 6 big gifs and 9 concepts, I fit a lot of those concepts together, but in total I have base 23 gifs

It is important that every gifs of a concept that is gonna end on the same background gif have the same amount of frames as the big gif

Make, color and save each gifs individually, so if you fuck up, you can always just go get your base gif again, name them in relationship of the final gif

Example : the final gif is named green1 so every gif in there are named green1,1 - green1,2 - green1,3

Please for the love of god, name and/or give numbers to everything and make groups in the PSD! You won't be able to find yourself in this mess if you don't do this : To make groups you can either, select what you want to group -> CTRL + G or select what you want to group -> right click -> Group from layers

You need to be able to manipulate colors, to enhance them, change them and neutralize them

This was done with Step 4 of Becca's tutorial, because the colors of the scene was easy to manipulate

the beginner's guide to channel mixer by audrey-plaza

gradient map + gradient fill by ruanbaijie

This was done by making the gif as neutral as possible with channel mixer and then putting a gradient fill on because I was lazy, gradient fill is a mix of step 3 of becca's tutorial and hanyi's gradient fill, I usually do that when I can't just manipulate the colors the gif already has easily

STEP 2 : clipping mask

The easiest way to me to have a bunch of other gifs on a bigger gif in any kinda shapes to me is clipping

Tips :

Start by making your shape on the background gif to know so you can play with the layout of everything and see what looks good before adding any gif

When you make shapes (in my case a rectangle) in photoshop it tells you the height and the width of the shape, so when you are gonna clip your gif to that shape, I suggest cropping it in your base gif around like 30px more than what those are before you duplicate it in your big gif, that helps to have room to move your duplicated gif around when you are done clipping it to the shape

When you are done cropping the gif you gonna clip into the shape, convert to smart -> dupplicate in your big gif -> clip to shape

Example : the rectangle is around 150px width and 240px (or something), my duplicated gif was cut 180px 270px (or something) just so i can be free to move it when it's clipped

The yellow and green sticking out of the shapes are drop shadow added for drama and the tape is literally just searching for a tape png I put on it

STEP 3 : layout from scratch

The 3rd gif layout was made from scratch because I only had 3 gifs for that idea, and also I didn't want to look like the others so the gifset wouldn't be too one tone because I'm genuinely mentally ill

STEP 4 : fonts and other minor stuff

I'm only gonna explain the GREEN FLAGS text because all the other colored texts are just a variation of that without the outline and with a different font, Gradient text tutorial says it all, here are my settings for this gifset

Kate's quick textstyles tutorial by aubrey-plaza

I use the technique on Gif 3 from step 4 and on (minus the outer glow) of Kate's tutorial, and made the stroke layer italic to make the outline of GREEN FLAGS

In the end, the layers are stacked like this

Now for the rest there isn't really any tutorial but here goes nothing

For the white text, I just put enough drop shadow for everything to be easy enough to read, for that I play with the opacity of the layer

And the little white lines are made with the line tool, to make the line continues just hold shift while you are making them

I hope all of this made sense, my biggest tip for all of this is literally to play with every setting until you find something your eyes tell you looks good, If you need more advice on something in particular feel free to send another ask

Part 2 of these PKNA fanfiction (feat mostly Lyla and Camera 9) that apparently I can't stop writing

I am writing this because I love the potential friendship between Camera 9 and Lyla and wanted to explore that. This one got long, so I haven't written all the ideas I have... a part three may be posted one of these days

Since she was already at Time 0 for a mission report and a check up, she might as well dwell on the archives.

Information about every single person, both android and biological, was registered there. If there was somewhere to look, it was definitely this place.

The question was no longer "what's his name?" but "who is he?"

Now, was it easier just to ask him? Yes...and no. Lyla liked her workmate, but the fact that he was able to follow her twice without her noticing made her proceed with caution.

She typed the name "Stefan Vladuck, 20th century. " ... oh... there it was... it only took a while.

Feeling a little nervous, she opened the file and read.

Name: Vladuck, Stefan

Type: Biological

Species: Duck

Place of birth: Bulgaria (officially)

Nationality: Not found

...what?

"What do you mean not found?" said Lyla softly with a hint of annoyance. She kept reading

Job: War/hotspot journalist. Vanished from the public eye for years. Television

Cause of death:

And Lyla closed the file abruptly. If she kept reading, she would learn more about ....her friend, but she wouldn't dare to keep going.

The bad side of Time 0 is that everyone you know is simultaneously dead and alive or might as well be.

With a heavy sigh, she left the archives and prepare to head back to Duckburg.

Since she couldn't get the information she wanted back in Time 0, Lyla decided to consult more traditional sources

"Angus, does the name Stefan Vladuck ring a bell?"

The kiwi raised his eyes from his notes to see the young reporter looking at him with curious eyes

"What? Is the youth suddenly interested in the classics?

Lyla didn't respond. Angus stood, for he was leaving, and elaborate as he put on his coat

"If you are trying to contact him, stop losing your time. He was a great one but disappeared one day just like that. He's probably dead"

"So I guess asking him to work with us would be impossible, then?" Said Lyla as she smiled sweetly

"Why would someone like him work with us? Hey! You! Stop losing time and come! There is news to report!" And he dragged Camera 9 out of the office.

It had been a while since she was on the last level of Ducklair Tower. She liked visiting PK even if it was for a "professional" reason. But going on missions with him was fun too, even if dangerous.

"PK will be here soon," ONE said, interrupting the peaceful silence that had been taking over of the area before. "Would you care of tea? A magazine? A piece of cake?"

"That's ok, ONE" she said with a smile " I enjoy just walking around."

And as soon as she had said this, she stopped. Something had caught her eye: a picture of her hero friend pinned on a board. His pose was heroic, his cape fell graciousy, and his expression was determined and strong. She couldn't recognize the background, but that was of minor importance. The lighting was weirdly warm.

"All right!" Said Donald as he entered the room "it was hard, but Uncle Scrooge won't force me to go to the dying lakes of whatever-they-might-be to help him with yet another one of his adventures, so we are free to go, Lyla... Lyla?"

"Ah? ....oh, sorry. I was looking at this picture of yours"

And Donald came closer to see which one she was talking about

"Ah, yeah" he said with a big, bright smile "that one is my favorite! I look so cool and handsome!"

"Not an easy feat, but it was posible!" Commented ONE, another playful teasing among friends that Donald didn't appreciate that much

"It's a great photo" said Lyla as she looked for details more closely

"Well" answer Donald and he almost sounded proud "he is a great photographer"

"Who?"

"Stefan" he replied casually.

Silence, not awkward or cold, but the kind that comes when your brain refuses to accept what it just heard

"Who did you say?"

Donald glaced over her noticing something was ... odd...

"Stefan...Vladuck"

"You know him?"

"Well, you can say so, we meet once and he took those" he said pointing at all the photos in the board "he helped me trick Angus Fangus, and he really seem to enjo..."

"Tell me about him" interrupt her soflty, clearly she wasn't really listening

"Huh?"

"Eh?" Lyla suddenly realized the slightly concerned looks Donald was giving her.

"I...I mean, this picture is so good it just made me wonder about the person who took it"

ONE came to break the awkwardness

"As far as we know," he said, "Vladuck used to be a photojournalist who specialized in potentially dangerous jobs"

"You mean...?"

"War." Said Donald "Though sometimes he was sent to guerrillas or natural disaster sites... of course, he did other types of photojournalism..."

Lyla took another photo in her hands. The whole situation felt surreal. Every piece of new information she collected on him made things simultaneously clearer and more confusing

"Is he well known?"

"Yeah!" answer Donald way to quickly "if you are familiar with the field, I guess"

Lyla looked even more into the pictures, without realizing a soft smile appeared on her face

"He is talented" she said almost in a whisper. "Why did he stop?"

"I don't know. You can just go an ask him"

She turned confused at the heroe

"Huh?"

"If you are suddenly so curious about him, it's because you know" he said, shrugging

"Lyla? What are you doing here? I thought I asked you to cover the accident on 4th street"

Her slightly annoyed boss was infront of her, waiting for an answer

"Sorry, Dan. I'll be on my way," she replied with a sweet voice."I am just waiting for Camera 9"

"Oh, Angus took him earlier for his own scoop," interrupted Mike on the other side of the room. "He said that, since he is smaller, he can fit anywhere easily"

A weird silence fell. How do you even respond to that?

Dan sighed

"Just take any other camera man"

"Yes, Dan"

And so she left. It has been three days since she had talked to him

Two more days passed until she was able to work with him.

As she waited for him on the car, she wondered how to start the conversation. There were still so many unanswered questions, but she didn't want to make things weird. He was a workmate she actually liked spending time with. She did want him to cut her off in anyway.

Soon, he got in the car. She thought some more of the best way to start: Should she use his name? Should she call him Nine still? Does she even want to explain what happened? Does he...?

"What's the organization?"

Oh well, she didn't thought of starting there

"Come again?"

"You asked me if I was with the organization. Back at the warehouse..."

Lyla considered her answer. Whatever happened to whatever you are doing, it's not my business, Miss Lay?

"Let's just say I don't like them very much" she decided ambiguity was her best card right now

"Are you in trouble?"

His voice was serious and a little concerned. She needed him not to worry

"Ah? No, it's all right, ...Stefan..."

He huffed, amused, and shook his head

"It's a nice name," she added

"Thank you"

He fastened his seat belt and laid back on his seat

"Ok, let's go!" he said happily, and Lyla just drove off.

"Should I keep calling you Nine, or...?"

The atmosphere in the room was peaceful and even relaxing, if you ignored the multiple papers scattered around and the whiteboard with a huge question mark

"I guess you can use either." he answered "As long as you don't use my real name around others... now, where would the owner of a fraudulent beauty clinic go"

Researching for a scoop could get as intense and draining as any police investigation. But Lyla discovered he was a fun fellow journalist to be around

"Mouseton," she pointed out. "According to this, she recently brought property there... Why not around others? Are you hiding or something?

"I'm just extremely introverted... If she wanted to hide, why Mouseton? Why go to a place where people may look first, based on her purchase record. Maybe she is still in Duckburg"

"You're probably right. The police would looked on her newly brought properties first and by the time they get the authorization to enter the city, she would be long gone" she said taking notes on the board "is it ok if I call you Nine most of the time?"

She didn't say it, but his real name felt a little too intimate at the moment

"Yeah, you can call me Nine, or Stefan, or whatever you feel comfortable with. You're the only one who calls me just "nine" and to be honest, I like the nickname...Lyla, look at this..." and he showed her a picture. At the back, they could barely make the form of a tall, purplish figure

"That looks Evronian" said Lyla in a surprised, breathy voice. "Was the clinic just an Alien hideout?"

"Someone better call PK"

Lyla had been looking through boxes and boxes of past newspapers. She was assigned to write a column on the story of Cornelius Coot for the city's anniversary, and she had a lot of reading to do

"You do it! Since you were born in Duckburg! it would be easy!" Had said Angus, who had rejected the project since he arrived in Duckburg relatively not long ago. So there was Lyla, looking for information. She did really mind it. She actually liked when things got more mundane and peaceful

"I found another newspaper from the 50s that might help you," said Camera 9, who had been helping her on the project. "I'll leave it on your desk along with the others"

"Thanks for your help," she said without taking the eyes off the box she was looking on. " You're a life saver, Stefan"

And she turned around only to be face to face with someone unexpected. She almost dropped the recently found newspaper on the ground

"Wrong name, actually, but I take the compliment, I guess"

"Ziggy!" Exclaimed Lyla "I wasn't expecting you here"

"Just came to drop a box of old tapes. Sorry if I scared you"

"No, no, it's all fine, I..." She looked around and noticed her quiet friend wasn't in the room anymore. "...I thought I was alone"

Ziggy gave her a strange look, as if he was trying to decipher a puzzle or something

"Ok, Miss Lay, I will leave you to work in peace" he said brightly after a brief moment, and he intended to leave the room. "Just out of curiosity, who is Stefan?"

"Huh? No one... I mean...that's how I call the potted cactus over there" and she pointed at a small plant that was quielty resting on a shelf. Ziggy looked at it as if he was studying it

"Seems like a nice little fella" he said. Camera 9 was coming in just then. "I'll leave you alone, Miss Lay. Good luck with the column....Hey, Camera 9! See you around, man"

And so he was gone to do this own job.

Camera 9 saw him go in silence before speaking

"Lyla, Dan sent me to work with Mike. Would you mind if I...?"

"No at all, Nine! I'll manage here. Don't worry. " it wasn't like she strictly needed him to help her anyway, but she did like the company.

"All right then, see you around Lyla" he said. Then he turned to the cactus "bye, Stefan"

And so he left.

I just finished reading the second Liam chapter and aaaaaaaaa just screaming. It’s perfect!! Both chapters are so well written, so full of love it kinda hurts hahaha

From the first part, idk I loved it when you mentioned about Lit past together since very young. Like, I knew that bit of their story bc I read it here in one post but reading it in the actual story felt like it was even more real, y’know? To read about Liam’s concerns about his career, Kit’s unconditional support since always…I can’t explain why I loved it so much but yeah haha feels like being closer to the boys <3

And yes, we are not lying when we tell you that that first part was soooo good. You found a well balance and projected very well the idea that Liam was confused and concerned.

And this second part goshhh i cannot <3333 i’m so weak with pet names (pretty sure I have said that before…) and praise likeee i read it and i feel like melting haha you can imagine after that second (third?) chapter im nothing but a puddle on the floor hskdjfdk apart from that, it’s great to see Liam and Kit finding themselves more settled with their instincts now :’)

I’m so excited to get into Kit’s thoughts and Izzy and Nat participation in this whole situation.

And yesss I’m so happy to finally have more of Lit’s background in the actual story, about the daymn time! Their dynamics in general are just so fascinating for me to mess with, and it’s fun to figure out how they shift over time in relation to how they grow and things change etc. Like, before Nat, Liam was the youngest and the most ‘babiest’ of them, so all their dynamics adjusted a little with Nat coming in. But like in this sad!kitty one, as much as it was for Kit's benefit this time around, Liam also still needs the moments where he gets to be a whole baby with Kit :( (when they’re not too busy being dude-bros to trigger Izzy & tease Nat lol)

Thehehe I hope you enjoyed the rest of the story as well! I’m afraid Kit had literally like 0 thoughts by the last chapter, but hims a cutie and he was going through it, so we shall give him a break :’)

I’m acting on a whim and posting some unfinished(?) fanfic stuff I wrote like a year ago. Part of my many branches of caterella aus that has vague reference to one of my rsa ocs (dañarte)… but with a cater/idia main plot with jamil/azul happening in he background. My blurbs ended in a bit of a sad spot BUT it was always the intention in my mind that there would be happy resolutions 🙏 these were just little things I wrote for my friend and me bc it was an au we talked about…

Context: idia and cater are bonding, but only online over magicam, and idia is kinda catfishing cater (though not maliciously). when i was trying to name my original rsa oc (char) and looking at names, eppa was one of my initial possible choices. It was maybe my friend who had the idea initially of idia having a fake, RSA princely identity that cater gets to know over magicam?

Eventually I picked char for my actual guy, and dañarte became his cousin via me making typos and more discord sillies lol, but prince eppa became a pseudonym for idia and created another branch for the story. I’ve talked a bit about the dañarte lore and some of that comes into play here. Char I guess would too but I don’t think he got mentioned anywhere lol sorry buddy. But ya idia is pretending to be a prince at rsa named eppa who “secretly likes video games” or whatever I think lol. Idia likes his bond with cater but can’t even begin to think of how cater would react if he found out idia was lying to him.

Anyway. This is more cater/idia (and board game boys friendship) focused than anything (lots of idia pov pining lol) and idk if anyone would wanna read it but I’m putting it here to record keep anyway. No ao3 Bc It’s very unedited and unfinished and just kinda blurb writing lol

But it’s the only time if technically written for caydia. And I do like it. It’s just embarrassing bc I get embarrassed with my oc things and my love for romance drama but i guess I’ve been exposing more of it lately lol… shout out to anyone who recognizes the fic I’m referencing that I DID post lol.

Idia’s computer pinged as a message appeared on screen.

C.Dia - eppa, are u awake?

Idia looked at the clock, startled. It was 3AM… Idia was still up because he was grinding a new event in one of his many, many, many games, but what the heck was Cater Diamond doing up at this hour? Had he just gotten back from a party?

PrinceEppa: ya, why r u tho? It’s crazy late lol

C.Dia: lol ikr

C.Dia: i just cant sleep rn >.<

PrinceEppa: how come?

C.Dia: i got into a fight w/my bf again…

Idia sighed at his computer. Right… Cater’d started dating that prettyboy from RSA.

PrinceEppa: 0~0 thats like the third time this month…

C.Dia: ya ik ;-;

Idia fiddled with the strings on his hoodie. He didn’t really know if his heart could take hearing Cater talk about another guy, but the thought of Cater laying around sad and alone made him ache just as bad… But what was he supposed to say in times like these? Idia didn’t know anything about comforting someone about relationships! He barely talked to people in general!

Thankfully, Cater kept going and spared Idia the anguish of trying to figure out what to do next.

C.Dia: are u going to bed rn?

PrinceEppa: no lol ill be up for a while longer.

C.Dia: royalty keeps busy at all hours huh?

Idia tensed at the mention of his lies.

PrinceEppa: something like that. Balancing the princely duties and the princely gamer sessions is tough work 😌

C.Dia: LOL. never change eppa <3

His face grew warm, a bittersweet swelling filling his chest.

C.Dia: can u chat with me a lil longer then?

C.Dia: tell me about ur day or ur games or w/e? I kinda just want a distraction, i dont really wanna be alone rn

C.Dia: if ur not busy anyway >.< it’s oki if you wanna focus on ur gamer mode lololol

Idia paused for a moment, before moving his mouse and closing out of his game. The rest of the event grind could wait.

PrinceEppa: im never too busy for you, cay.

C.Dia: thx <3

“I heard Cater and that RSA boyfriend of his broke up.” Azul spoke after several minutes of silently moving chess pieces around the board.

Idia frowned. “Don’t try and use that as a distraction from the game just because I’m winning.”

Azul kept his face neutral so as not to betray any bluff he might have. “Perish the thought. I just thought his sweet prince eppa would be interested in such information.”

“SHH!” Idia hissed. “Not so loud! Besides, I-I already know. He told me…”

Azul raised an eyebrow. “He told you, or he told Eppa?”

Idia focused on the chess piece he moved. “Same thing.”

Azul sighed as he took his own piece and contemplated his next move. “Hardly. Honestly, how can you ever expect to move your relationship forward if you don’t unmask yourself? All this bonding will be for nothing if you don’t use it to the full extent!”

Idia rolled his eyes. “I don’t wanna hear it from you of all people. How long have you been saying you’re gonna ask Jamil out?”

It was Azul’s turn to shush Idia, face reddening. “How is that even relevant?!”

Idia grinned. “Cuz you keep going on and on to me about how I should be more confident with Cater, but you won’t even take the plunge with Jamil! Hypocrisy much?”

“I’m simply waiting for the right time. I would be a fool if I didn’t stick with my patient strategy of getting him to warm up to me before striking! Move too early, and I’ll undo all my progress…”

Idia sighed, thinking back to all the hours he’d spent DMing Cater under a fake name. They’d gotten quite close, but as far as Cater knew, Idia was still that vague acquaintance in the back of his classes.

If he messed up by telling him his identity at the wrong moment, or didn’t phrase it right…

“Lost progress… that’s exactly what I’m afraid of…”

“Idia!” Cater’s cheerful voice called out as he approached the lecture hall desks. “You’re in person again today; that’s three for three this week!” He spoke with a smile as he slid into the seat next to Idia.

Idia jumped at the sudden appearance of his classmate. “O-oh, uh, yeah…”

“Oh, B-T-W, did you hear that Azul and Jamil were on a date Friday night?” Cater said in a half-whisper, leaning close to Idia’s ear.

“Uhh…” Idia didn’t really know how to answer that. Sure, he knew Azul had some overly complicated date-but-not-a-date plan to get Jamil to hang out with him, and then ask him out for real, but how did Cater hear about…?

“I was hangin’ out with the pop music club on Friday when Ruggie texted Kalim that he was serving their table! Isn’t that just crazy?”

Ah. Kalim and Ruggie. That explained it all.

“I mean, I always wondered if those two had something goin’ on, y’know? Like, they had that ‘will they, wont they, playing hard to get’ kind of vibe. Super cute, if you ask me.”

Idia wasn’t really sure that ‘cute’ was a good way to describe anything those two were involved in, but he simply nodded his head along to Cater’s blathering, as he discreetly pulled his phone out of his pocket and switched to his Prince Eppa magicam account, reading the messages from that morning.

PrinceEppa: howre u feeling?

C.Dia: like total trash lol…..

C.Dia: ik he was a jerk but like i miss him, yknow??

C.Dia: or maybe i just miss having someone there. And its almost valentines day lol. Shit timing amirite?

PrinceEppa: that really does suck… im sorry, cater.

C.Dia: thanks, it’s oki tho. Better to get it overwith lol

C.Dia: i really dont wanna get out of bed or go to class…

PrinceEppa: mood

PrinceEppa: u really should tho. Ik it’s hard but itll feel worse if u stay there all alone

If Cater really was feeling as bad as he felt, he was pretty good at hiding it with that blinding smile and bubbly laughter.

Sure, Idia’s first instinct would be to immediately enable anyone that wanted to spend the day hiding in bed, but… The thought of Cater lying alone in the dark with his thoughts just made Idia sad.

And, if he did that, Idia wouldn’t get to see him in class today…

“Oooh, do you think Azul and Jamil are gonna go out again on Valentine’s day?”

That depends on what Jamil answered on Azul’s questionnaire, Idia thought to himself. He was sure he’d get a full report from Azul later that day at their next club meeting.

Cater sighed. “Another Valentine’s day, and Cay-Cay’s single yet again!” He smiled, but Idia felt that his eyes weren’t lit as bright as they normally were as he spoke. “But, I’m sure some of the boys at Heartslabyul will be hangin’ around like always. It’s never lonely when you live with friends!” He turned to face Idia again. “What about you, Idia? Any steamy plans for Valentine’s day?”

“U-uh…” Idia started fiddling with his hair. It was now or never. ‘A-Actually, Cater… M-my dorm, Ignihyde, we’re h-hosting a movie night that night… Y’know, ‘cause a lot of us don’t really have plans for Valentine’s day and don’t wanna be sulking alone…” He swallowed a lump in his throat and took a deep breath. “...Y-you can come join, i-if you want…?”

Cater blinked a few times, a look of surprise on his face, before breaking into a smile and giving Idia’s arm a small squeeze of a hug. “OMG, movie night at Ignihyde?! I hear you guys have like, the sickest setup! That sounds great; count me in!”

Idia breathed a sigh of relief as the professor began class.

A few seconds in, his phone quietly vibrated as a single message came through. Idia glanced at it from down in his jacket pocket.

C.Dia: a rlly sweet guy in my class just invited me to hang out w/him and his dormmates on valentines day

C.Dia: u were right about getting out of bed. i think ill be okay today ^.^

“Hey, Idia…” Cater put his phone down, magicam abandoned where he’d paused on a video of a turtle swimming around an aquarium. “We’ve gotten a bit closer lately, huh?”

Idia paused the game he had up on his tablet. “H-huh? Oh, uh, y-yeah…”

“So, uh,” Cater played with a strand of his hair. “Do you mind if I talk to you about something a little… personal?”

Idia froze. Abort mission, find an escape route, he was not a high enough level for this kind of topic yet! Maybe Eppa was, but Idia!?

And yet, he couldn’t bring himself to just say no when Cater was looking at him with those soft green eyes.

“S-sure…”

“Thanks! Y’know, you’re really sweet, and like, such a good listener…”

Idia hoped the redness of his face was hidden behind the flames of his hair that flickered in every direction.

“And I’ve just been feeling so… confused lately, about where my heart’s at. My feelings feel like they’re being pulled in so many different directions!”

Idia could feel his heart hammering in his chest.

Cater sighed, laying his head down on the table. “My ex asked me on a date today. He wants me to give him another chance.”

The burning sensation from Idia’s insides made a 180 as he felt his blood go cold. This was the last thing he wanted to hear his normie crush come and tell him without warning…

“And the craziest part? I said I’d think about it.”

Oh god.

“I know that’s like, totally insane after everything that happened, but… I dunno, seeing him around now that he goes to school here just has my head all scrambled!” He picked his head up from the table, opened his phone again, and gave the turtle video a like before standing back up suddenly. “Gosh, sorry, I don’t know why I just came over here and dumped that on you, Idia. I guess I just find you so easy to talk to, I get a little carried away!” He said with a nervous laugh.

Lucky Idia.

“But, don’t worry about it. I’ll figure things out for myself. It’ll be A-okay!” Cater gave an unconvincing thumbs up before turning to leave.

Super lucky.

“Azul, today might actually be the worst day of my life.” Idia said as he dragged himself into the clubroom and plopped down in the seat across from Azul in their usual spot.

“...Hm? Oh, hello, Idia.” Azul looked up from his phone. “I believe you said the same thing when you came in here to lament about Cater getting together with his… boyfriend, a while back.” Azul seemed tense at the very concept of Danarte. He hadn’t exactly been a fan of the guy since he transferred to not just NRC, but into Scarabia specifically, where he’d made a point to hover around Kalim and Jamil as much as possible.

“I mean, it’s basically the same level of despair. Cater just told me Danarte not only asked him out, but that he’s considering it!” Idia dropped his head facedown onto the table in sorrow. “Like, how could I lose to the same guy twice!? Ugh, honestly, there’s no one as pathetic as me. I am having the WORST time, and NO ONE could possibly understand the agony I’m in right now!”

Azul chuckled, his tone solemn and hollow. “I’ll do you one better. Jamil broke up with me today.”

Wait, what?

Idia’s head shot up as he squinted at Azul, who was gazing sadly at his phone again. “Huh!? Wh- Huh!? What happened?”

Azul sighed. “We had another fight- and I mean, you know how we are. We have our differences, our disagreements, and the two of us can be a bit… stubborn at times. But we always figure it out! We were doing so well… At least, I thought we were.” Azul rested his chin in his hands. “But I suppose Jamil didn’t feel that way. He said he’d had enough of the relationship. Enough of me.”

Azul bowed his head to stare down at the table.

Idia wondered if he was trying not to cry. He looked out the window, both out of respect, and also because it felt kind of awkward to stare at his friend who was clearly just barely holding it together after getting dumped.

After a few seconds of awkward silence, when it was clear neither of them wanted to discuss their woes anymore, Idia spoke. “Uh, wanna play the VR headset boardgames today? Now’s kinda the perfect time to… Escape reality, right?”

Azul lifted his gaze to Idia. “...You just want to make me use the virtual dice again because you know I can’t use my perfected dice strategy on them, don’t you?” He straightened his posture, standing up to get the headsets. “I’ll have you know I won’t let your silly game of virtual chance best me today!”

Oh thank god that worked. Idia didn’t think either of them could handle any more emotions for the day, so he stood up and followed Azul with a grin. “Hehe, we’ll see about that, Azul.”

rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded 0 - don’t care either way +10 -> very enticed nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged. Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.

Age gap: Kinda ranges from 0 to -10 depending on what size age gap we're talking about. Like if one person is 20 and the other is 30 it's more of a 0, but 15 and 35 is -10.

Codependency: 5. Copying Hoskky's answer that if this is in a romantic context I don't really care but if it's part of some fucked up train wreck relationship that can be fun.

Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: Same answer as above.

Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): 0. Just not something I care about

Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: 7. I can't honestly rate this any lower when I've been the one-man-fandom for Alexei/Yuri for many years now. Though it's not a hard 10 because sometimes I'd rather the enemies stayed enemies. Like if my enjoyment of a villainous character is how fun they are as a villain I don't want to see them domesticated.

Friends with benefits: 0. I don't read smut, but if characters are fucking in the background of a story, that's, like, fine.

Sex to feelings: 0. Another "sure, that's fine." Don't care about characters fucking in general!

Fake dating/relationship: 10. I love a grand deception.

Friends to lovers: 5. I can't keep rating every romantic trope as a 0 just because I don't read romance fics so I'll give this a 5 because I'm not, like, enthusiastic about it but if there's going to be a romance in a story I like it if the characters are friends first and it grows out of that.

Found Family: 10 now that's what I'm talking about

Hurt/Comfort: 100 literally 90% of what I read is hurt/comfort

Poly, open relationships: 0. I care more about what the characters are up to than the specific arrangements of their relationships. Like, I have poly ships, but polyamory isn't something I care about in isolation.

Mistaken/hidden identity: 8. Once again, a grand deception! Oh, the drama.

Monsterfucking: nope. I don't read smut. Although, if it was more monster-loving in general and the fucking is just a side scene on the way to an in-depth relationship with a monster, now we're talking.

Pregnancy: 3. I'm not going to read something just for pregnancy, but it can add some stakes and additional issues to an already engaging plot.

Second Chance: 5. I really like characters who failed at something getting a chance to do it again some character growth.

Slowburn: 0. Yes I am continuing to rate all the romance things as "don't care," I'm sorry my answers are boring. This is really in the "it depends!" category, because if a fic is like, 100k of romance-focused slow burn.... yeah I'm not reading that because I don't read romance novels. But also, if a fic is slow burn then it's usually long, and that means there might be some other plot happening and the slow burn is the side romance along the way, and that's my preferred way to consume romance stories.

Love Triangle: -10. Unnecessary drama, x2

Soulmates: nope. In the long vein of "Nightfoot Overthinks Things," I am incapable of thinking about soulmates without getting very caught up in what the implications are for free will. I also just generally disagree with the idea that there can be one and only one person someone could be truly happy with.

I think the general takeaway here is "Nightfoot is a deeply non-romantic person." Though, for a lot of these, my thought was very "Well, it depends on the ship! If this was for my OTP I would read it, if not I would have no interest."

So, question for the class! Do you read fanfics based on the tropes if it's not a ship you already like? Am just deep in rarepair hell that I can't imagine sorting through fics on the trope level when I'm used to having a dozen fics in total that are even about my fave ships?
