I think my favorite thing about Skyrim is that the base game has so much content. 6 fully fleshed out main quests that changes the game. Hundreds of side quests that you can get you going for hours. Unique play styles to match anything you want to be. Want do be a healer and let your dog, follower, and required limited companions do all the hard work? Go ahead, Restoration spells are the ones for you. Want to be a mercenary? Go ahead, get bounties and side quests and go ham.

Then Skyrim added not 1, not 2, but 4 DLCs.

1. The Dawnguard/Vampire DLC adds a whole new main quest line, adds more locations, new characters, 2 brand new factions, and loads more lore.

2. The Dragonborn DLC adds a completely new location: Solstein. An island that's almost like its own country. Hundreds of new characters, dozens of new quests with 1 main quest: to defeat the first Dragonborn.

3. The Hearthfire DLC technically is the 2nd DLC but it adds a little bit of things. Adoption for the orphaned children of Skyrim. 3 brand new houses the Dragonborn can build from scratch and a few new characters. A small DLC, but one that some find very important.

4. Anniversary Edition. Although not technically a DLC, Anniversary Edition does add hundreds of new features such as new armor and weapons, fishing mechanics, new ingredients for potions, dozens of new quests and locations, and more houses for you to choose from.

Skyrim has so much replay opportunities that it is probably one of the best games to ever exist. I cannot wait until Elder Scrolls 6

Background: Kateri was born in solstein to two poor mining parents. Her father died in an accident when she was a small child and her mother decided to move to skyrim for a fresh start and safer work. There she met Kat’s step-dad and they married 4 years later. Kat never Liked her stepdad and never got along with him either,he wasn’t a bad or particularly cruel man but he did hold some rather….irritating…views. Kat loved to read and would often read well into the small hours of the morning,her stepdad believed women shouldn’t read,especially as often. He thought it was a distraction from things that needed to be done. When Kat was 15,they got in a fight and Kat stormed out of the house to go calm down,meanwhile her stepdad,in his anger at what he perceived as disrespect,gathered all her books and burnt them,only a single set of books that Kat had hidden under her bed were spared. When Kat came home a few hours later and saw that her beloved books had been destroyed,she vowed that she would NEVER forgive her step-father (or her mother as her mom didn’t intervene) and that the first chance she got,she was going to make him pay for what he did. To her mother,Kat made it clear that the moment she was able to leave,that she would leave and never interact with her ever again,that she wouldn’t know if she had had kids,had work,was alive or was dead,that her mother was dead to her.

Her stepfather and mother tried to make amends,but Kat knows how to hold a grudge and made it abundantly clear she meant every word she had said to them. When she turned 16 she had saved enoughmoney from odd jobs and babysitting gigs to leave and attend college in Winterhold. She packed up her things during the night and left a note on the table letting her mother and step-father know she had left and that they would never see her again. 

She would study restoration at the college for a few years,as well as history and a few illusion spells. She also excelled in Alchemy,though Enchanting was a weak spot of hers.

Then The Great War broke out. Knowing she was going to enlist as a healer,Kat sucked up her pride and visited her mother,who was now heavily pregnant.and her step-father,who was still remorseful for what he had done. She caught them up on all that had happened in the years that had passed,and then she let them know her plan to enlist. Her mother was distraught at the fact her daughter could possibly die in a war and her step-father worried about her safety and the effects war would have on her if she survived.

After Enlisting,she was moved around to several forts and camps,her skill as a healer became well known and she was even given titles,land,and some medals for her work. The soldiers and prisoners under her care respected her greatly,and whenever there were surprise attacks or ambushes,several soldiers and a few aldmeri prisoners would keep her safe. She always felt lucky when they would protect her.

However,her luck was not to last,as she was stationed in the Imperial City when it was sacked. During the chaos she had the local thieves guild help evacuate civilians through the sewers in order for them to escape. She ran around throwing wards up to shield soldiers and civilians from fire,frost,and lightning attacks,and would use healing spells to help the wounded,all while ushering civilians to the sewage entrance.

It was her 15th trip to the sewer that an Aldmeri soldier grabbed her andknocked her unconcious with his sword. 

She would be imprisoned until the end of the war and she was routinely tortured and assaulted while under Thalmor occupation. One of the torture sessions ended up permanently blinding her in both eyes and left her suffering from chronic pain.

After the war,she was tended to by an imperial healer and was given medals for her actions during the war and was gifted land and a home both in Cyrodil and Riften. She was also given a seeing eye dog which she named Daisy.

She stayed in the city for a couple of years before returning to the farm her mother and stepfather owned. Her mother was glad her daughter was home but mourned the loss of her daughters sight. Her stepfather was glad to see her home as well and set to work making her a few aids to help her with her new set of needs. 

She would live with her mom and stepdad until about 1 year before the events of skyrim began. She moved into her home in Riften 4 months before the game starts.

Race:Nord

Appearance: A short nord child with long red hair typically kept in twin braids. Tan white skin with freckles all over her face. Hazel-Green Doe shaped eyes and a Roman nose,dimples, missing two top teeth. Small and of delicate build.

Age: 8 1/2

Personality: A sweet,kind hearted and curious girl,is fairly shy around those she doesnt know but is a chatter box to those she knows well.

Backstory: Mary was born to two farmers in the village of Rorikstead,she was raised in a poor but loving household. She was closer to her father than she was her mother but only by a bit, would help her father in the fields and help her mother with the baking. Her parents were troubled about having to stop worshiping Talos so suddenly and when she was 8 they decided they would go on a final pilgrimage so they could cease their worship in a way that gave them the closure they needed. While at the Lake Illinata Talks shrine which was the final shrine they were to see,the last act of worship they would do,they were Killed by Tally. A little while later,Mary would come to see what all the racket was and saw a hurt Tally and helped him with a healing potion. She didnt notice the bodies until after he was healed. She heard about the orphanage,and she has no other family, so she decided to stay with Tally out of a need of survival. She has alot of mixed feelings around him,as shes been raised by a very religious family and taught that anger and hate are bad things to feel and that she should always forgive those who cause her suffering or pain as that is what the Goddess Mara would do. The Divine she is most devoute and curious about is Mara so she tries to be as forgiving as possible,but shes just a child so theres alot of things she needs to learn.
