Obligatory update on the project yeah yeah!
Although I don’t want to outright spoil all the progress I’ve made so far, I can’t deny that I’m ready to brag about this spin segment looking hella cool jksjsksp. Just need to maybe add in the flame movement for the background + fix that one minions broken face but otherwise this part is complete :D

Your childhood and my childhood? They do not equate. Our experiences are not fucking universal. I don’t know what kind of childhood YOU had but if I woke up one day and found myself 7 years old again??? I would jump off the fucking roof. What do you mean you want to be a kid again? Like what do you MEAN? It certainly can’t be what you think it means. Listen. Right now I can order Wingstop Parmesan Garlic Tenders with as much Blue Cheese Sauce as I want with my OWN money and NO ONE can give me shit about it and I can DRIVE MYSELF there. Hell I could walk myself there! Do I miss being a CHILD? Do I miss existing as a being with no autonomy and at the mercy of adults who should know better? God know. Fuck no. I love being an adult. I fucking love it. Life started for me at nineteen. Every day I wake up absolutely PUMPED that I survived that batshit insane period of my life. If you genuinely wish you could be a child again, you’re doing something wrong with your adult life now.

I absolutely love how everyone I see here has stylistic and aesthetic choices that they deliberately and consistently make when they're designing or playing their characters. Things that pop out to me when I'm scrolling where I can know whose work I'm looking at without referencing the icon or blog name. It's a downright inspiration scrolling my dash and seeing y'all's finely curated characters ❤️

Went out of my way to take Before and After screenshots of some of my favorite overworld locations in-game before the graphics update hit so we could do a little comparison!
Most of the later areas feature more subtle changes, but the earlier you go the more apparent the changes to textures and foliage are. The new lighting and shadows breathe a lot of life into the same models too, and the refreshed textures have a really strong cumulative effect.
I did my best to simulate the same angles, weather and time of day, but fudged it a bit in some places out of excitement. None of these shots have any sort of visual mods or /gpose color filters/light sources added.
#It's a little tough to see from that angle but the frosted grass in Gogagne Mills is much more dense#I find it interesting that Rak'tika looks so much less vibrant#I wonder if it's an effect of the Everlasting Light weather or if they pushed for that with the texture updates on purpose?#There are still a lot of dead leaves scattered on the ground and that brownish look does remind me of forests with dense canopies#I'm so happy about the Peaks wildflowers though
