Mit "Tomahawks" können Ziele in deutlich mehr als 2.000 Kilometer Reichweite getroffen werden. Die Marschflugkörper sind wie auch das deutsche Waffensystem "Taurus" in der Lage, im Tiefflug in gegnerisches Gebiet einzudringen und wichtige Ziele zu zerstören. Dazu können Kommandostellen, Bunker und Radaranlagen gehören. Dabei werden die Marschflugkörper von Schiffen oder U-Booten eingesetzt, während der "Taurus" von Flugzeugen aus gestartet wird. Die USA hatten solche Waffen mit großer Reichweite zuletzt in den 1990er-Jahren in Deutschland stationiert. [...]
