Wilson Combat .458 HAM’R AR Platform
.458 HAM’R – The New AR Caliber That Packs 3,000 ft-lbs of Energy (ArmsVault.com) – Wilson Combat is proud to introduce the .458 HAM’R. The HAM’R is designed from concept to completion to be the hardest hitting, most powerful (practical size) AR platform carbine ever produced, exceeding the ballistics of the .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM and .500 Beowulf. By using an AR10 size bolt and barrel…

I did a thing to the 103. SLR Rifleworks muzzle brake - it’s a shorty. Took an inch off of the overall length.

Best of April Fools from the Gunwebs (VIDEOS)
From Magpul waffle irons to quadrupedal Kalashnikovs, there was a lot of fishy new products announced on April 1– all NFA rules apply.
Brownells set the bar early with their semi-auto-only BRN-134D Mini-Gun for the low-low price of $125K– although all components are backward compatible to the standard Dillon Aero M134D. Whoops, it’s already sold out (wink).
youtube
Jim Fuller’s Rifle Dynamics in Las Vegas, home to some of the best domestic AKs there are, announced the first quadrupedal running Kalashnikov. “The RD704R features an 11.5” barrel, our tunable gas block, SLR Rifleworks rail, 30rd magazine, and a top speed of 19mph,” said the company on a very well mocked up product page.
“We have talked with our legal team and because of the SBA3 arm brace, the RD704R does not fall under the purview of the NFA. The future is now, at RD we believe that you should own a gun that not only performs, runs, and thinks on a higher level,” says RD. (Photo: RD)
Also in the world of AI-enhanced gun and gear, Vortex optics announced their C.O.B.R.A– the Combat Optic Battle Ready Assistant– which was an Alexa-type personal assistant that can dial in your scope for you. In hindsight, this is probably a marketable item.
youtube
Speaking of optics, Walther dropped the April Fool’s news that they have a version of the ordinarily compact and svelte PPK/S available with an optic cut for a Trijicon RMR while also sporting a Surefire X300 and muzzie device.
“Why wouldn’t we? Who wants to preorder? #KiddingNotKidding,” said Walther.
On the other side of the coin from the Bond gun for a new generation, Pew Pew Tactical delivered a tongue-in-cheek review of the “Appalachian Problem Solver,” otherwise known as the Hi-Point JHP 45. (“What it comes with is a box.”)
youtube
To add to the fun, SureFire announced that “In honor of the recent win in California” when it came to magazine bans being dashed, they were offering a 300 round quad stack 5.56 magazine, the SFMag-300.
Somewhere, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra probably had a mini-stroke over this. (Photo: SureFire)
Not to be outdone, Magpul announced a polymer waffle iron for PMAG-shaped morning carb loading (“You’ll stop skipping breakfast.”) while Accurate Shooter unveiled the low-down on the new 7.6 Creedmoor (which is identical to .308 Win). This came as Trailblazer Firearms showed off a Life Card Vending Machine (“Our initial plan is to start distributing these within California, Massachusetts, and Maryland”) and InRange TV said the Cincinnati zoo has placed an initial order for 20 Hudson H10 “Harambe” models in 10mm.
That’s a really interesting day at SHOT Show right there.
Finally, Texas Parks and Wildlife let the public know that Lockhart State Park is the official home of the majesty that is the State Jackalope Herd. If only they could bring back the elusive and lovable Nauga, the couch at Guns.com’s warehouse needs a new cover.
The Jackalope are beautiful this time of year

Nyet! Billet Is Fine! The AK Billet Stock from SLR Rifleworks
Hey SLR Rifleworks does not need no stinking low-cost manufacturing methods, instead, they have opted for the most expensive option to create an AK stock – milling it from a large block of billet material. Commonly, AK stocks are either mass-produced wood or manufactured from bended sheet metal. Arguably quite ugly, the sheet metal stocks […]

SLR Rifleworks SOLO Ultra Lite Handguards
If you haven't checked out SLR Rifleworks Ultra Lite Handguards, they are pretty cool...
These days we are spoiled with a huge selection of handguards and rails for our AR-15 / M-4 style of rifles and pistols. One of my favorite rail systems I have used is the SLR Rifleworks SOLO Ultra Lite Handguard. My favorite feature of this particular hand guard is the lack of a continuous top rail. Frankly, I don’t need it. Not…
