Whoever see this message, please for the love of anything at all play ICO and other Team ICO games please PLEASE
Tumblr media
It doesn't have this exact vibrant minimalist art style, but trust me, all these games have been inspired by ICO and The Last Guardian (ICO pretty much inspired every 3d game in the existence actually, i can't stress this enough how influential this game was and still is to game dev)
One thing i have to add to this list would also be RIME, it fits the art style and naturally inspired by Team ICO games

seriously though what do you call this aesthetic/genre

I have many thoughts about Alef's success in the trials cause like??????
When did he figure out he was the one the prophecy was talking about?
How many kids died before him?
Did he WANT to do the trials? Or did he just have no one else who would take him in since he was an orphan?
Did he get a long with the prophecy guide?
I'm on my hands and knees begging for tgc to focus a good portion of his episodes time around this, because idk if yall have done trials recently but to do all 4 in a row without falling/dying once is DIFFICULT.
I really hope we find out he succeeded by figuring out skips or tricks. I think it would be a good nod to the player base, and explain why the others failed before him. It wasn't about skill, it was about approach. I think that'd be cool.
Anyways NO MORE YAPPING have some drawpile doodles ft. Some prophecy kids who absolutely died before Alef succeeded. Ones that are from memories wink wink nudge nudge
ItsTheShatteringKids
IThinkTheShatteringKidsWereActualKidsAndNotJustManifestationsOfLightCreatures
Or at least thats what I head canon anyways
Anyways yeah those kids are totally dead

I kinda want to make a may be a long post of my headcanons that other creatures / animals also exists in the world of sky other than already existing creatures (such as manta, fish, crabs, etc) but I kind of a bad explainer in English ahaha- but here is what I am thinking about anyway-
Like for example, a cow or goat. Perhaps that can explains how the spirits (like belonging grandma and tip toeing brewer) can make cakes and breads because they have MILK as one of the main ingredients? (as for other thing like eggs and flours, eggs are probably from birds or there are also chickens in Sky and flour uhh I think I will explain this one while also explaining the farm and environment in my Sky AU or my fan-season concept) And I kind of remembered that there is a spirit who is lactose intolerant and other spirit that really loves milkshake in some spirits hint announcement ?? I forgot which spirits again were those but these also gives me hint that MILK exists in Sky and helped me with the idea of other creatures may exists (not really counting Nine-Colored Deer here since it's a 'magical' creature and a season collaboration with Sky) Other animals like a bear and a sheep and other animals with fur and wools may also exists since that helped the spirits to make fur-based accessories, clothes, capes, etc. Some of the masks from spirits also represents animals like yknow, something like bull mask, because they KNOWS the look of those animals as they exists.

The markets of the Isle of Dawn, and a mysterious traveler who offers you potions and is more interested in the stories you have to tell than your candles…
When you leave, satisfied with your recharge potions, you see her talking to another traveler - a figure clad in brown, wearing a wide hat with glowing orbs dangling from the edges. As she moves, golden loops of jewelry clink together.
Possible reference for an OC… it’ll need more refining but they’re a traveling potion maker who loves gossip, stories, shiny things, and good company. In addition to potions they carry magical ingredients, scrolls, message boats, and other trinkets.
Feel free to ask any of my OCs (or me) questions in my inbox, I’d love to share more hehe

Day 29: Eden!
Idk what to say about this one-?
Let's just say that, yes, she had to go to Eden. In short: Lamed told her to "save the King" (spoiler: he was already dead, so Sentinekka had to stop the emotional war that was going on through the Elders) and took him back to the Elders.
She had to go to also save Ojtaro, who didn't want to become an Elder. In fact, if the King was "alive" he wouldn't have been able to take his place. Even tho the King was dead and gone, the Elders understood that Sentinekka really cared about Oj' and they decided to let them stay together, so to set Oj' free from the demigods cycle.
Ofc I didn't know what to say and ended up writing an Egyptian papyrus.
Soon I'll make sure to post the whole story in some text-posts and all so I can spare 300+ pages of reading for your sweet souls <33

I’ve been working on a discduo themed sky fan season!! Here’s Dream’s— the spirit guide’s— spirit design and cosmetics. He gives you a mask, cape, outfit and (as an ultimate reward) umbrella!! He also gives a ‘concerned’ emote, even though spirit guides don’t usually give emotes— he leans to the side and peers at the object of his concern while wringing his hands. The level three and four versions could involve him hunching over a bit and biting his nails.

It only took OVER A DAMN YEAR, but I am finally able to present some sort of design sheet for Mykell.
They’re quite a social outcast and they spend all of their time in the Eye of Eden and refuse to leave, using the krill armour as a way of getting around less likely to be detected. The long-term exposure to red crystals eventually rotted out their eyes, and so they wear the ceremonial bandage that gives them a sort of blindsight.
The REASON for their self-exile to Eden is the result of the premature deaths of their friends, giving them a hatred of the system where children are expected to die for the fallen kingdom that most children lack. They stay in Eden as a sort of boycott, and them living so far past the age they were supposed to die at has given them thirteen stars (although they are still very much a child).
Mykell isn’t as aggressive towards the other children as some other characters are, but they’re very bitter, antisocial, and generally pessimistic so that fewer kids will try and visit them. Most of their actual hatred is aimed at spirits and ESPECIALLY at Resh, whom Mykell hates with all their soul and will gladly tell other kids about it. They also resent the Megabird for allowing such cruelty to happen to the kids, which is the reason most normal kids try and avoid them or find them sketchy.
They will help kids get to the centre of Eden if need be, but will often try to talk them out of it or convince them to join them, particularly if Mykell is aware that the kid is going to die permanently. Their existence is essentially defined by their hatred, and they struggle to hold any sort of conversation that doesn’t eventually loop back to how much they hate the spirits and the Sky kingdom and Resh. Aishika pities them and Arturo hates them.

Why I love How Sky Portrays Death
Before I start, I go into detail about death and loss, and description of the afterlife and dying and examples of it in sky and a little mention of religion irl.
I wrote this while sleep deprived if this makes no sense, i'm not sorry
Take this all with a grain of salt as this is purely my observation and interpretation
To many, death is scary, unpredictable, and inevitable. Death is frightening because it represents the end of life, the loss and grief it brings, and the uncertainty of where we will go. Every religion has its own version of the afterlife, from our soul moving to a new body, places ranging from rewarding good and punishing evil, to simply being nothing. Death is scary because we'll never truly know what lies beyond or what awaits. It's complicated ,heavy, and it's something that many have delved deeper into too. I only bring this up because the sky not only answers, but embraces death. How? Let's take a look.
Orbit
Sky's interpretation of the afterlife is perfect. "All are given breath by starlight," as stated in the intro mural, everyone ends up back in the stars someday, becoming spirits that travel to this small part of the galaxy. They even seem to become one with the light and stars if they so please. And it's relaxing; it's soothing.
They know it exists.
Spirit's have shown from the beginning of the game that they can descend and ascend whenever they please. See all TS's, Grandma, and event spirits like Yeti, who appear briefly during Feast to cast a snowman spell before ascending. According to this logic, orbit is widely known because ancestors were bound to descend to explain what happens. And spirits aren't gone from their loved ones' lives; they're still present. They're not gone and can visit anytime they like; it's not hard for me to imagine them visiting others during holidays and events.
Gravestone's
In every social space, there are gravestones for every base-game ancestor. What's interesting is how they're laid out; unlike regular graveyards, which are organized in a line, none of the graves are uniform, some being lengths apart. This is very clear in Prarie, with one near the closet and another nestled in a cave; even irl graveyards that are less uniform don't tend to put burials that far away, but Sky does. It almost seems like an ancestor could've possibly chosen the placement themselves. You also have the special burial site at the 8-player door, a working elevator and all, the graves have their own little buildings and stones draped in gold, implying a ceremony as we know. Not only that, but Valley's way of honouring death is extremely interesting.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's talk about Samekh's temple
Valley really demonstrates how death is viewed—not in a morbid way but in an honourable way. The hallways of both races are lined with gravestones, with the exception of some open spaces. When compared to decorations such as the eight-player door, the gravestones themselves are painted in gold. They're unlike any graves seen so far, and you can argue that these were reserved for champions, and if so, I feel like the halls would be packed considering this is the valley of triumph, but no, there are still a few open spaces. Which makes me adore how there are gravestones in the twin's temple.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their temple is the only one that not only has gravestones inside, but is lined with them! And considering their position and how we know they play a big role in the sky as leaders, to the point where they have a temple, it makes the fact they share it as an ancestor's final resting place so heartwarming to me. They were under no obligation to place gravestones; they could have dragged the banners down, added more statues, or even designed something similar to Daleth's temple like the murals we see, but they didn't. They allowed the room with their shrine to be a graveyard, they value their people's lives; they regard it as an honour, and whether those are the graves of champions or ordinary people, they value them all the same.
And it still hurts.
Even in the sky, where the question of death is answered, it still hurts.
It hurts when Mindful and a Tearful miner witness the deaths of their friends, Tearful having to bury their own. It hurts when Teabrewer returns with herbs for their loved one who died while they were away, so much so that they become anxious when they leave anyone alone, as seen in their info card. It's horrifying to know how many ancestors died in the war with no way to escape, faced with the fear of death every day.
Death is still scary in Sky, and I love it for that. Even when you know where you'll go, you still value your life; you don't want to die, and you don't want to go. But when that time comes, when you choose to be one with the universe, or roam your home with your star-kissed body, you'll never be alone. And that's why I adore the way death is depicted:
Because it's bittersweet.

For the ask game, how about Mr. the dragon
you can choose one or all
chosen family, enemy/nemesis, person they can't stand (if it's the same person who is their enemy you don't have to answer)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
------
Tumblr media
"But Daddy! You're a sky kid!"
"Incorrect. I grew up."
If it isn't clear, The Dragon hates Memory, another oc of mine, I pair them up with Harvest a lot, but unlike Harvest they're actually an important part of The Dragon's story. They were a veteran tasked with taking The Dragon through the realms and Eden as a moth, but they abandoned it in Eden, cold, and alone. Scared and traumatised. Once he remembered what happened (cos sky kids forget things upon going through Eden), he felt disgusted and betrayed, decided all sky kids were evil and not to be trusted, and ran away to leave the cycle of rebirth and grow up.
Also The Dragon's family is their kids! And the spirit village he lives at! It acts as their guardian! Protecting them from outside threats, keeping watch, and taking care of them all (especially the kids, who's parents were never found, so he adopted them)

Sky kid ocs (new)
Lil guy (Nagid) -
In lil guy's past life (known as Nagid), they were this very tyrannical sky kid. They were hated and wanted dead by many. They've been killed before, but they were rebirthed with their memories in tact. After a long battle against them and a rebelling group, they were able to kill them once more and they tried to make sure that they wouldn't get rebirthed this time. They tried to destroy their ember, but damaged it instead before it ascended into orbit.
For many years, their ember remained in orbit as it was healing itself. This time, when they were rebirthed, they had no memory of who they were, their past, or what they had done. They were reborn as a blank slate. The only remnants of their past were their missing and scarred over, left eye. But by this time, the tyrannical sky kid was basically forgotten about since it had been so long ever since they were defeated. When lil guy fell from the sky, they landed in isle of dawn.
They were born with a sense of extreme anxiety and panic since it was the last thing they felt before dying. They were confused and scared. Cyra (who belongs to @sol-the-wasteland-sky-kid ) found lil guy where they had landed. She took Lil guy in as her little sibling, teaching them what she could and protecting them before they were able to take care of themself.
Mordechai -
Mordechai was Nagid's second-in-command and most trusted friend. They had only been rebirthed once before after going through eden with Nagid. They slowly grew over time and became very strong and resilient. During the final battle against the rebelling group they had been fighting with for years, Mordechai was greatly injured. They lost both their arms, legs and had many other injuries.
Their arms and legs were replaced with darkstone tech prosthetics, which made them appear much larger than what they had been before. After Nagid's death, Mordechai and the others who were a part of Nagid's tyrannical rain went into hiding.
Chana and Adira -
Chana and Adire were born of the same ember. They share a psychic connection due to being a part of one ember. They look and sound exactly identical to one another besides having different hair styles and Chana having a prosthetic left arm made from darkstone tech.
Chana and Adira were close friends with Nagid as well, serving under them as hitmen. The two have an extensive amount of knowledge on sky kid anatomy that they have used for torture and quick deaths. Ever since Nagid died, they have been working under Mordechai, trying to find Nagid over the years in hopes they would find their leader rebirthed.
General lore -
Nagid, after going through eden for the first time, they had been changed. They saw no point in trying to save what had been lost due to the recklessness of their ancestors. Originally, they wanted to make a difference by rebuilding the kingdom of sky so that all sky kids would have a home and spirits/ancestors could visit. Their goals and intentions started out pure, but once they gained power, they slowly became corrupt.
Over time, they did end up rebuilding large portions of the sky kingdom, but they had become a tyrannical leader. Their followers turned into a cult and the realms Nagid had control over, the sky kids who didn't follow them, they began to rebel against them. For many years, the rebelling groups made their attacks against Nagid and got stronger while their forces only got weaker. In the final battle, Nagid lost their life along with many of their followers.

I wanna make a huge post about TGC and the state of Sky so bad. I’ve seen some good takes, I’ve seen some hot takes, and I’ve seen some bad takes.
I love this game despite its (expensive) flaws, but there’s so much I see people bashing on without taking into consideration why it is the way it is. Probably because of other things that deserve to be angry about.
The problem is it would be such a long post because there’s so much to cover, and it would really only be for my own personal vent that probably no one else will see, but I want to so baaad.
Even this post is getting long, I am anything but concise XD
