About Suhyun and Sangil’s accident

If you didn’t know Snuper’s Suhyun and Sangil was involved in a car accident last Saturday on their way to Show Music Core. Widmay still hasn’t released any kind of statement regarding the situation so let me tell you how I’ve seen everything as a fan attending all of Snuper events this past weekend.

Under the cut because it’s been a long ride...

On May 19th (Sat) before the Show Music Core live broadcast Snuper held a mini fanmeeting near to the MBC broadcasting station. After all of us gathered and took our seats, we were waiting for the members to arrive. After 10-15 minutes of waiting a manager came and told us Suhyun wouldn’t be able to attend the event because he was involved in a minor car accident on the way here so he went to a nearby hospital for a check up. She then went back, said nothing more. However, after 10 more minutes another manager came back and told us that apparently Sangil cannot attend the fanmeeting either since he also went to the hospital for a check up. Soon after the rest of the members arrived and told us not to worry but didn’t share any more information about what exactly happened.

After the fanmeeting everyone was wondering whether the missing members would show up for the live broadcast. Of course it seemed inprobable for Snuper to suddenly perform without their two main vocals but we really had no idea how serious the accident and their injuries might have been. Some fans worried it might be very serious, some thought the cold Suhyun mentioned the day before might have gotten worse, while others guessed they just didn’t want to come. Really none of us knew anything.

While waiting for the live, Widmay shared the usual before broadcast photo so we at least knew they were in one piece but they still gave no real information about their condition since the caption was just the usual comment of “tune in for the live broadcast”.

Then the live brodcast finally started, and while the prerecording of the previous group played all 6 members went up on the stage. Sangil came a bit forward and gestured toward us that he was okay and there’s no need to worry. To be honest, Sangil did seem okay during the stage and maybe if someone saw their performance for the first time they would’ve said Suhyun was fine too but I’ve been attending their performances for 4 weeks then and Suhyun definitely wasn’t as cheerful and energetic as usual. He danced through the whole song but his movements seemed a bit stiff. However, we were kind of relieved seeing them on stage seemingly okay. But then the performances ended and all the artists came back on stage for the winner announcement - except for Suhyun and Sangil.

After exiting the venue we got the announcement that the fansign that evening has been postponed and would start at 7pm instead of 6:30pm. No explanation again. Then they uploaded this video of them in the hospital... so maybe they went back there after the live broadcast again (or maybe they just took it in the morning, seriously, at this point nothing can be said for sure in this story).

We got to the venue by 7pm but then another annoucement came saying there would be another delay because of traffic jam. At this point no one knows what to believe anymore. About 10-15 minutes later the members finally arrive and the fansign starts without any word about what happened or why they were late. During the fansign I told Suhyun I was worried because I’d heard he went to the hospital earlier and asked if he was okay. He just laughed and said sure, sure he’s fine. However, he didn’t seem to be fine grabbing his side time to time....

At the end of the fansign they were supposed to perform Tulips but Suhyun suddenly announced he wouldn’t be dancing with the others. Again no reason given. Then when he stood up from the table you could see him adjusting something (probably some kind of back brace?) under his shirt (around 3:53 in the video).

Then the next day before Inkigayo they upload a picture of Suhyun with some kind of bandage on his arm but he peforms again, participating even in the dance. They had the last fansign for Tulips promotions that evening and he participated in the dance again during the ending stage.

That how far my own experiences go. But let me just add tha today we got pictures and videos of them heading to and arriving in Japan and this time Suhyun was seen wearing a neck brace and something on his arm that he tried to hide with his sleeve.

But then to confuse us more, a couple of hours later he was jumping on Woosung’s back, which I firmly believe is because of his own stupidity not because of his great condition. 

However, since no official statement regarding his condition has been released, I can’t say anything for sure. To be honest, if they couldn’t be bothered to say something about it so far, I doubt they ever will. The only case I could actually see that happening would be if his condition worsened so much that he couldn’t perform but that hopefully won’t happen - which means Widmay can probably get away with not adressing the situation and just pretend everything is fine.
