This started as a multiple rambling drafts exploring my likes and dislikes about MDZS/Untamed characters as they are most often characterized in fandom, and I think I cracked the code here. I like the grumpy responsible ones and pretty much nobody else. In this essay, I will explain why. (For clarity, the vast majority of what I'm discussing here relates to how the characters are portrayed in the fandom. There's a lot of context and complexity and variation in canon that I really don't want to try and get into. I'll stick to the tip of the iceberg thanks.)
My favorite tired grumpy ones: Jiang Cheng, Lan Qiren, Nie Mingjue; you could get a coffee with any of them, bitch about work, and they'd get it. They have responsibilities they didn't ask for, but do their absolute best anyway. Because its not just them who goes down if they don't. They are tired, but they can't stop, they have people depending on them. They aren't nice about it, they don't have time for nice, nice doesn't run your sect. They don't like the petty politics and socializing involved with being in charge, they don't seem to like the power or the perks. They consistently give up or don't get things that would make them happy, because they're more committed to their responsibilities. (I could maybe add Wen Qing to this list, but she's more complicated given her complicity in Bad Things - while her family was being threatened, to be fair - and the fact that we see very little of what she wants as an individual. Though it's implied she would have married JC if he could have protected more than just her, but the Jiang weren't strong enough for that and both of them knew it. See later rant about the treatment of women in canon.)
Jiang Yanli and Lan Xichen are supposed to be the nice, likeable ones and I don't think I could handle more than small talk with them. They spend too much time keeping the peace and wanting everyone to get along and trying to pacify everyone as if that's the same as getting people to cooperate with each other. (Wen Ning could maybe be thrown in here, but it's implied the dude was bottling it up so intensely it was literally the reason Wei Wuxian was able to turn him into the most powerful (and conscious) resentful-energy zombie. Full Respect.) I don't like fighting either, but I'm allowed to not like things. I am allowed to have any opinion I want so long as I'm not hurting anyone else with it (I hate that I have to specify here, the difference between having an opinion and being a prejudiced asshole. You know the difference, and I know you know the difference. If someone is claiming homophobia, transphobia, racisim, etc is 'having a different opinion' they're in denial about being a dick and trying to hide it behind polite language). Which means I don't have to get along with every person I meet. It's easier to try and get along with the people I deal with regularly, that's just being professional, but I'm not turning step-ford smiler. I refuse. I can work with someone I personally disagree with and dislike, but anyone who tries to make me like them or spend time with them recreationally is being controlling. Also, I don't remember Jiang Yanli expressing goals or opinions that didn't relate to her being a sister or future-wife, and that's definitely a failure of the narrative and it's tendency to not really value women except in relation to the men around them.
(I get it, none of the women are the main characters and everything mostly revolves around the POV of the main characters. But. If they're there at all, they're there for the benefit of one of the men in the room. Even Mianmian is there to prove Jin Zixuan is not as much of an asshole as he comes off as, because she's willing to spend time with him and we see her later show she wouldn't put up with the rest of the Jin. Wen Qing is there to prove some of the Wen aren't bad and to be guilted by a charismatic young genius into performing experimental surgery to 'fix' his nonconsenting, traumatized, unconscious foster brother. My opinions on that surgery are only partially relevant to this conversation, but I will happily scream about that later.)
Feel free to yell at me for the next bit, but remember everyone can have any opinion they like. Disagreeing makes more interesting conversation than agreeing on everything.
Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji drive me up the wall. I could not deal with them as a couple or as individuals. Neither of them are bad people and I want to say that now, on the record, before I make very general statements about them to avoid being here all night nitpicking. So. On the record. I like the narrative of the villainized man who did what he had to, finally getting his happily ever after with someone who never stopped believing in him, and that belief fully paying off with a reveal of the actual villain. That said, onto why I don't vibe with them.
As a couple, it's like the rest of the world doesn't matter so long as they're happy with each other. Life doesn't work that way. We live in communities, and we have responsibilities to those communities, even if those responsibilities are as simple as putting the cart back at the grocery store. (I am 110% judging you if you don't. Just walk it back to the cart return, and don't be an asshole.) But once these two get together, it's like everyone else can fuck off. It's fine to be a happy couple. It's great. But if someone you claim as family has just had something traumatic happen to them, you should check on them. Not just on your partner, for whom the experience was arguably less traumatic. (Not trying to measure trauma here, but Lan Wanji and Wei Wuxian were not emotionally invested in Jin Guangyao as a person and his entire betrayal reveal wasn't going to be nearly as upsetting for them as it was to his nephew, the person he co-parented said nephew with, and the person arguably responsible for supporting him through his rise to power.) Also, it isn't healthy to have your only close personal relationship be your partner. Friends are good and important. Canon and immediate post canon has them isolated for plot reasons, and then in a honeymoon phase, but I see them as having an uphill battle for any sort of social ties. The Juniors don't count. Cross-generational friendships are great, but the context of this (and I'm missing a lot of the historical/cultural stuff) puts Wei Wuxian and Lan Wanji as too much above them in a social hierarchy to be proper equals. Even if Wei Wuxian tends to disregard social norms, the Juniors are expected to defer to and honor him as their elder and as someone who can teach them.
As an individual, Wei Wuxian is inconsiderate and self-absorbed. To me, as a modern western audience member missing a fuck ton of the historical context and linguistic subtext of the story, he still comes off as someone who casually disregards rules, boundaries, and other people's opinions, and gets away with it all the time. If someone I wasn't very close friends with was that touchy-feely with me without permission, I would avoid them like the plague, and that's in a modern American context. He's got MCU Tony Stark characterization problems. He's a charismatic genius with wealth(y connections) who continually gets away with behavior other people wouldn't even consider (except for Madame Yu, who gives him his Complicated Childhood badge) and creates horrifying weapons of warfare that everyone wants on their side until they want him dead because he won't do what they want. Also he's a poor little meow meow who sacrifices himself for people and is misunderstood by the public.
He gets treated like he never had any agency, and none of it was his fault or choice, which would remove the significance of his sacrifices and all the genius work he put in to create the most terrifying and cultural-taboo-breaking method of fighting anyone ever used. I know I didn't get the cultural taboo of using the dead to fight at first, but I've seen explanations that compared it to the horror of finding out a modern person was mutilating babies. We're talking beyond the horror of cannibalism, which is understandable in a survival situation. This is a guy who was pushed to the edge and chose to do awful things instead of die. Understandable, but horrifying. The rest of the cultivation community had good reasons to be afraid of him after the fact, especially since he was rather publicly downward spiraling with PTSD and alcoholism.
But I could tolerate all that, if he ever once made progress toward considering how he affects anyone except Lan Wanji. Yeah, he and the Wen Remnants die very horribly and unjustifiably because of outside manipulation. But Wei Wuxian gets to swan off into the sunset with his man, an anonymous face, and a restored reputation. He tells Jiang Cheng, who just found out Wei Wuxian orchestrated an extremely violating nonconsensual surgery that affects him more than physically and spiritually and had his co-parent nearly murder his nephew, that it's all water under the bridge and they should start over. Jin Ling just lived through finding out one of his uncles was a murderous powerhungry villain responsible for the death of his parents, murdered his baby cousin (the man's own son!!) as an toddler, and nearly slit his throat like ten minutes ago. Lan Xichen (his lover's brother!) just found out his closest confidant killed his other closest confidant/childhood friend and was a murderous powerhungry villain, and that said murdered confidant's helpless baby brother had actually turned himself into a master manipulator for revenge, and was manipulated into killing said confidant/murderous powerhungry villian. Doesn't even seem to check on Wen Ning, the poor guy who's been used a puppet on both sides and just had his zombified corpse mutilated protecting Wei Wuxian's interests. But no, total focus on his happily ever after with his husband.
Onto Lan Wanji, he's a petty asshole and I could almost respect him for it, if he wasn't also completely incapable of communicating and a hypocrite. If the man had just had an actual conversation with his crush, or even expressed concern for Wei Wuxian in words, the whole downward spiral after the war culminating in a faked defection from Yunmeng and the Wen Remnants situation would have gone very differently. (I know you need conflict for a story, but I hate when the conflict is miscommunication based. Any story that could be completely derailed by two people having a five minute conversation that could have easily happened in canon makes me want to scream.) This man also spends years projecting his anger at himself for not sticking up for Wei Wuxian onto Jiang Cheng (who had a lot of intense political reasons that he couldn't do more), without a hint that he has the self-awareness to recognize why. He also spends years believing all the worst rumors about Jiang Cheng and Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian's relationship despite his whole thing being he loves Wei Wuxian and knows in his heart the man was never as terrible as he was portrayed. Is there not a hint of irony here?? How much faith and value he places on a person directly correlates to his personal relationship with them. And the narrative puts this man in charge of the cultivation community at the end??? As if he's not going to immediately show favoritism to anyone who hasn't been hostile to Wei Wuxian and be intensely petty to everyone he doesn't personally like?
He hides behind being an upstanding person as if he's entirely altruistic. His whole 'being where the chaos is' rep is because he's spent the timeskip trying to atone for not saving Wei Wuxian and desperately hoping to find Wei Wuxian. (As if Jiang Cheng hunting demonic cultivators wasn't the same thing with opposite PR.) He'll follow the Lan rules and enforce them for everyone but Wei Wuxian. As someone who has to work to understand social situations, the Lan rules provide a nice structure when you're with the Lan. A 'when in Rome' with an actual list. That said, their insistence that stripping away any passion, individuality, or general enjoyment from life will bring some sort of moral superiority is incredibly conceited. Especially when they basically admit its only enforceable in Gusu, unless you piss off one of the powerful Lan. Also guaranteed to create a culture where people learn to hide anything not the norm and/or experience internalized guilt for not conforming. What are they, catholic?
I can appreciate Lan Wanji's internal struggle to actually go after what he loves, especially in that social context. But he seems to have decided he's the only one wise enough to understand when the rules should and should not be followed. He still judges everyone (not named Wei Ying) for not living up to his standards without seeming to realize those standards are fundementally impossible (for everyone not name Wei Ying, who can be forgiven all things). He puts Wei Wuxian on a sort of impossible pedestal that does not bode well for a relationship with an actual person, instead of the idea of that person.
Anyway, the fanfic in this fandom that I like, either doesn't involve this couple more than superficially, or has them working and overcoming these issues and rebuilding relationships with other characters.
I'm so tired.

AU Thursday: A Smattering of Random Valicer Headcanons
Mostly relating to the standard Modern AU, of course, but the more general ones could apply to any iteration:
-->You know how I have January 8th as “Smiler’s Creation Date” on the Valice( r) Calendar? Well, in thinking of what I wanted to do for it in the shower a couple of days ago, I referred to it as “Smiler’s birthday,” corrected myself with “no, wait, Smiler’s birthdate is the opening date of the coaster, May 31st” --
And then remembered “my human Smiler is ADOPTED -- maybe that’s their adoption day?”
So yeah -- Smiler’s actual birthday is 5/31, but the Altons have another little celebration on 1/8 because that’s when the paperwork all became official and Smiler was fully and legally their kid. Smiler was actually sad when they first learned that other kids just get the ONE birthday.
-->Smiler has a real talent for mixing drinks, both alcoholic and non -- they just seem to have a knack for eyeballing measurements and knowing how much stirring is enough. Any party they throw, they play bartender and knock their guests’ socks off.
-->Related to the above, Smiler’s job while attending college is as a barista in a coffee shop, where they develop a reputation for somehow getting even the most complicated order perfect. They like it when people’s faces light up after having one of their drinks! (Though that does make the “Karens” stand out even more, sadly. . .like this one couple who came in, the wife with a really complicated order that she kept criticizing them on as they tried to make it, and the husband with a simpler order that he refused to leave a tip on, saying it was unnecessary. . .guess how Smiler first met Victor’s parents.)
-->In keeping with the tech theme of the actual coaster, I’ve decided that Smiler, like Victor, enjoys building little robots from kits! They generally do more complicated projects than Victor does, though (hell, maybe they’ve done a mini-toy-like take on the Marmalizer, jokingly calling it their “brainwashing bot”), and they’re better at learning code and programming them. They’re also decent with HTML, as evidenced by the fact that, you know, they have a website with videos and suchlike. :p
-->Victor, for his part, gets into repairing and modifying things -- he finds he enjoys learning how things work and how to fix them, or make them work better, or even just look cooler. And he becomes a “right to repair” advocate after he discovers just how fiddly fixing electronics in this day and age can be, and how expensive it is for most people to replace them.
-->Constantly sending them to practice yoga in Sims 4 when I wasn’t sure what else to do with them has cemented in my head that Smiler just does yoga in general! In that same “crop top and short shorts” outfit that they so often wear as a Sim. Victor finds it very distracting. XD
-->Also, as mentioned in the tags of another post, I’ve recently realized that Smiler’s favorite animal is frogs! Probably as a result of all the breeding and collecting I had them do in Sims 4. They just think they’re neat. :) They also like dragonflies too.
-->Some new food headcanons for the trio -- all of their favorite fruits are also involved in their favorite desserts! Victor likes apples, and absolutely loves a good apple pie; Alice favors strawberries, and really enjoys a strawberry cake; and Smiler likes bananas, and will devour a banana split (they also like bananas foster). I think “chocolate cake” would rank as a second-favorite dessert for all of them though -- and I can see them working their way together through one of those big old “bucket” sundaes you can get at Ben & Jerry’s. (Though that would probably best be handled with the help of Victoria and Emily, and/or Oblivion, Th13teen, Rita, and Galactica. . .probably be a good date idea for the Running Headlong Into The Bullshit mega-polycule too XD)
-->As hinted at in the Christmas headcanons post, I’m tempted to have Alice pick up her father’s love of photography to capture special moments. It seems a fun way to carry on the family legacy! Though, yeah, this is something a modern Alice would be more keen on than a Victorian Alice for sure -- less dangerous chemical bullshit going on!
-->This one is a headcanon-in-progress -- part of me feels like Smiler should have or get a tattoo, but I’m not sure where or what. Something fun and colorful, sure, but beyond that. . .I’ve experimented with adding a tattoo in Sims 4′s CAS to my Smiler Always, but nothing really looked right. (Possibly because all of them are tied to such specific parts of the body -- I’d really like it if you could move certain tattoos to different locations!) Hmmm. We’ll see if this one goes anywhere as a result!

An Interlude — A Soft Summer Breeze
Two Masters — both wishing to protect and save the people they care for. But their methods differ — and their roles remain as necessary as ever.
What’s a Chaldean Master to do?
—
“...Cadence.”
An ever-familiar voice calls my name.
Sharp, and laidback — cool like a summer breeze, the gusts of wind impossible to ignore.
The owner of that voice, too, felt not unlike such a soft summer breeze — fleeting bursts of enthusiasm, as the Master stepped forth in front of me at a turn in Chaldea’s halls.
“...Ritsuka.”
“Nice job making it out of that place. You’re a natural.”
The black-haired Master closed an eye and yawned — only stretching out one arm, as the other carefully gripped a Da Vinci-branded tote.
‘...She’s been advertising her brand. Smart one, Da Vinci.’
Taking my eyes off the bag before I began to crack up, I settled myself and placed my eyes on Ritsuka.
“I barely made it out. Still haven’t stopped breaking Chaldea code, what with summoning a Servant without their help.”
Ritsuka only responded by stepping forward and raising their fist, as if waiting on a fistbump.
“Better that than croaking, man. You did well to improvise back then — heavens knows, I’d faint the second I saw the blood.”
I’d return their fistbump with a hand of my own — even as the both of us flinched at the feeling of my ring bouncing off his hand.
“—Watch the brass knuckles.”
“Whoops.”
...They cracked a weak smile, and lowered their hand.
“...You did well. Better than I could have out there.”
As Ritsuka averted their gaze for a moment, I only scoffed.
“Really? Must I remind you who was crying their eyes out in almost every major fight?”
“Seriously! You cried a damn river, sure, but you held your ground! That’s more than most people can say.”
Ritsuka leaned back a little bit, grinning like an idiot, as I was left shaking my head.
‘Maybe I held my ground, but there’s a difference between that, and...’
...Ritsuka was someone completely different from me.
I saw them fight alongside Mash. How well they stood their ground against every threat they handled — how firmly they stood and fought against each and every person they had to, even as they had blades, bows, weapons upon weapons shoved to their throat.
As I hid in the background, commanding a Servant in terror, weeping my eyes out as things went bad.
“...Ritsuka. How am I the one who did better? You faced the Rhongomyniad with a smile.”
“And? You think I wasn’t scared outta my wits there?”
...
...Ritsuka continued, before I could even formulate a response.
“Thing is, man, the only advantage I’ve got is the power to compartmentalize. If I’m scared, I stuff it in a box, and stuff the box into a hole. And I forget about it.”
...I waited, a moment — and spoke, my voice a little weaker. Ritsuka’s face faltered — the familiar smiling wrinkles fading, slowly.
“Isn’t that a good thing..?”
“If you handle it well. But you have to deal with that fear sooner or later, and... In the battlefield, especially a neverending one like ours, you just can’t.”
...The Master stepped back.
“...There’s only so much of these battles I can take. There’s only so much death anyone can take. And the only way I’ve ever dealt with this is by forgetting about it.”
...They took a slow breath in, and out. Their smile reformed on their face — starting as a small smirk — growing into a genuine smile, a gentle, subtle mask to put the people around them at ease.
“But you? You deal with your fear on the scene. You’re not afraid to cry your damn eyes out when you’re supposed to be threatening — you ain’t afraid to proclaim how you don’t want to risk your life. And because of that, you don’t have to hide any of it.”
...Their rousing words, again, could lift even the weakest of souls. Surely, such a person was stronger than myself — and yet...
...I could even feel the weight off my chest, the mixed emotions leaving my body, as the Master before me weaved a pep talk out of nothing. It could make one wonder if...
‘...Maybe their own magecraft is...’
...Ritsuka stepped around me, and slapped his hand on my back, to knock whatever negativity that remained in me out — alongside my train of thought.
“Listen, man. You’re cut out for this stuff where I can’t. And it’s because of that that I’m giving you this.”
Ritsuka held out the Da Vinci tote towards me — hanging it off their index finger, their smile turning to a stupid grin.
Taking it carefully, opening it with one hand while I kept a death grip on one of its handles — I lifted out a black and white suit, perhaps a form-fitting uniform, featuring an almost futuristic pattern upon it.
“...The Combat Suit.”
“The plugsuit! The one and only.”
Ritsuka smiled, swiping the tote from my hands right as I loosened my grip upon the handle — as I let out an unintentional chuckle at the sight of the Master clutching the well-branded purse.
‘...It does look good on them. Maybe I’ll get one.’
...Even so, after a moment spent thinking — I’d realized the weight of what I held in my hands. A Combat Suit — a ‘plugsuit,’ as Ritsuka affectionally called it, with its unique ability to unsummon and resummon Servants with relative ease. The power to retract and send out Servants without wasting nearly as much mana, and Mystic Codes enabling something not unlike Gandr hidden in the palms.
This was the suit of a Master in the field.
...I lifted it up to look it over, as my eyebrow raised.
“Do you really think I’ll do well with this?”
At that — Ritsuka’s grin grew wider, and they gave me a thumbs-up.
“Of course! Man, you’re the type that digs his heels in when the going gets tough. Now you can give ‘em a taste of your very own Gof Punch!”
I found myself laughing at that — the mere sight of Goredolf seeing a strike to rival his own had me already cracking up.
“...You sure I’m a good fit for this?”
“Damn right I do. This place doesn’t need a Stepford Smiler... All I’ll do is crumple to the pressure if I stay out there. I’ll be the morale builder — but you’ve got the makings of a hero. So keep it in mind, yeah?”
...The Master left it at that — and they were gone, in a moment, slipping down the hallway and through a corner. In a second, I couldn’t see them anymore, only their faint footsteps to my left that faded from earshot.
...Like a summer breeze — cool, refreshing, impossible to ignore — simultaneously fleeting, vanishing in a moment and leaving only a faint warmth for those around it to enjoy, so that it may return when it’s needed again.
Ritsuka Fujimaru, perhaps, was right. Such happiness, fleeting joy, would be better left untouched. They couldn’t cope with it forever — but they could help others cope.
They could help me cope, as I fight in the field.
A fleeting summer breeze to give comfort to those it’s felt by, to fade before it overstays its welcome, and grows as warm as the people it sought to cool off.
...That, so it seemed, was the role Ritsuka would take — the role they wanted to take — to take off the weight.
...As I thought about it — that was the role they could play.
“...Am I able to do what they wanted me to?”
...Even with the fear that wracked my body, the horrible paranoia of every last thing that could go wrong —
...I only had one option. Now more than ever — I could either fight for the slimmest chance of survival, or guarantee my demise.
Surely, the people out there who stood not even a fighting chance held a fear far deeper than mine —
Surely, the normal life I wanted would never come to pass if I failed—
I had an option. Even as we were backed against a corner, I still had the option to fight.
If Ritsuka, a Master far stronger than me, believed in me — if those who couldn’t fend for themselves relied on all of us —
...Maybe it was best to take on the role they sought of me, and fight. Someone had to do it, didn’t they?
It seemed it may as well be me.

I know ‘it’s not that deep’ but it’s so unnerving that in Ducktales, Fethry Duck was left behind to go mad from isolation (Shown by the warnings the show itself provides) and all we see is him delighted to be reunited with the same family that left him behind in the season 2 finale and in the semi-canon DT comic (Aka Scrooge and Donald).
Like, how mentally broken and submissive a person have to be to not show any sign of bitterness/sadness or at least demand answers after being practically tortured for years?
Last time I saw an autistic coded character being locked away for being destructive it was Lemongrab in Adventure Time, and welp, he eventually became season finale-tier villain... But what generated all this rambling was a two-hour-long conversation with a friend on how Tangled is a series that all the cool villains are a direct answer to the protagonist's actions and fuck ups... And this is beautiful.
Anyway, I can't really picture Fethry ever becoming a villain, but I wonder what a proper development of this character could be... I like his random seemly aggressive and creepy phrases and I think they were written there to show how clueless he is, but it could be also interpreted as true resentment slipping through the cracks... But honestly, that's just probably just because Adventure Time trained me to look for subtext in absolutely everything Tom Kenny says.
I think it fits the character to eventually have a melancholic break down than to get angry and lash at people. If he went through all that shit and he still happily smiling and frolicking around I can assume he must be the kind of person that internalizes everything. I wonder what could make him drop this façade and how long can he keep that up...
And why; Is he afraid to be rejected again? Why was he rejected in such a brutal way in the first place? 'Explosions'?
A friend pointed me the Stepford Smiler Trope which deals with a character "obsessed with projecting an image of wholesome happiness in order to be accepted by their peers" but that is deeply hurt/depressed inside and I found it very fitting and very very sad, but one of the best descriptions on how I felt about DT!Fethry.
It's funny because comics' Fethry has this borderline obsession with being Donald's (Spinel) best friend, following him around and being hella clingy and now DT!Fethry has an actual reason why this character would act this way with anyone who gave him any crumb of affection.
Well, I don't think I really have a point, that's just some analysis I had to take out of my heart. I don't have hopes that any of this will be addressed in the canon material but at least I can give my input to all the fanfic writers/roleplayers/fan artists outta there and hopefully read your much appreciated feedbacks.
Just picture this, being left alone in a damp tomb for 4+ years by your family and when you finally see them you're just... happy...
Kinda remembers me that Black Mirror episode they isolate this virtual reality woman on a blank reality for so many years that she is absolutely delighted by the idea of being a living Alexa just to have something to interact with.

Little Grey, Little Gay
A/n: Not likely that this will be a relationship kind of story, more like the reader was Lexie’s patient once and is now Alex’s patient.
Warning: Casualties, Physiological trauma
Alex Danvers x Reader, Lexie Grey x Reader, Dansen
Word Count: 1423
After a successful recovery from a shoulder surgery and physical therapy for a year, you had planned to head back to Seattle Grace to thank Dr. Callie Torres, Dr. Alex Karev, and Dr. Lexie Grey.
You were shocked to hear about the plane crash and you were devastated that Lexie didn’t make it. Lexie was someone whose touch could heal you, she was there to calm you down before your surgery and she was the one who made your short stay at Seattle Grace comfortable.
About 8 years later, National City was holding a film festival, you hadn’t submitted anything but you still went to analyze the techniques used.
You didn’t even know what happened. One moment you were listing down the types of cuts and transitions for Code 8, the next you knew you were part of a Code Yellow.
An alien had attacked, and due to your adrenaline you went around leading other people to help. Agents, doctors, nurses, firefighters, EMTs, and police scurried around to help those in need. Once Supergirl and Dreamer finished getting people to safety, they entertained the kids.
You had guided a little girl to meet Supergirl when you started to feel your adrenaline wear off.
Alex had been helping the children around Kara, when she went to go thank you.
“Hey, thanks for helping out those kids.” Alex said behind you.
Once you turned around you couldn’t believe your eyes. Lexie was there standing in front of you.
“Lexie!” You immediately hugged her. When you hugged her it confirmed your guess. You had the ability to acquire information about people or events associated with an object after the accident that injured your shoulder.
Alex froze, no one called her that, at least not anymore. The D.E.O director placed her hands on your shoulder and released you from the hug. “Sorry to break it to you, but it’s Alex.”
“You’re alive!”
“Thanks to you more people are. We should probably get that nasty cut of yours checked out.” Alex pointed to the right side of your forehead.
Alex led you to her medical station in the open city, after Supergirl put the alien in containment the D.E.O and first responders set up around the rubble.
Alex had began to clean your wound as you hissed. “You’re gonna feel a bit of a sting,” She proceeded to inject a numbing agent and sutured your cut.
You stared into space, a flashback, Alex’s flashback coming into you mind, something Alex definitely caught. It was a dark skin toned male who towered over Alex with a black polo and talked about how she could never share this secret if being a secret agent.
You knew her, she knew that, she was not suppose to bring up that life again but she had to know when. And you decided to test her.
“You called me Lexie earlier. Any special relations?”
“Huh? Oh uh, I injured my shoulder eight years ago and you look like a doctor that helped me.”
“Surgery?” She asked.
“Yeah.”
“You’re shoulder still giving you discomfort?”
“No, all healed after physical therapy.”
“I wanted to thank the doctors who worked on my shoulder but my favorite died in a plane crash, or at least what they told me.” You made eye contact with her to see her reaction.
Thankfully Alex was a professionally trained agent and kept her poker face on.
“She’s in a better place.”
Both you and Alex didn’t know what to say. Alex only feared that you would head back to Seattle and tell everyone there. She couldn’t have that.
“What you did out there was brave. Running around the front lines to save people.”
The silence took over again as Alex finished suturing your wound. “Thank you. For my head and my shoulder.” You smiled.
“Next time I see you it better not be your knees or toes.” Alex joked.
A slight chuckle left your lips, and decided to keep her secret, it’s something you could do after what she has helped with. “No seriously, I want to thank you for my shoulder. I know it doesn’t really help you but it helps me with closure. I injured my shoulder really bad, and without Lexie’s help I probably wouldn’t have gone through the surgery. Although her rambling did make patients feel nervous. Well I should probably get going. See you around, Alex.”
“Hopefully when you do it’s under better circumstances,” Alex replied.
“Oh hey, when do I get these stitches removed?”
“Oh uh —,”
“You can meet Alex in front of Catco, then she can remove your stitches in my office.”
“Your office? I don’t think a journalism office is sanitary.”
“I’m Kelly, a therapist at Obsidian North.” Kelly handed you her business card.
“(Y/n).”
You waved goodbye to the couple before you went towards the kids to wave goodbye to them.
Alex spent the night pacing her kitchen before Kelly pulled her back into reality.
“Alex?”
“Huh Sorry.”
“Is everything alright, you’ve been lost since the accident.”
“There something you should know about my past. After I finished high school I went to Harvard Medical.I found out I was adopted when I was a baby so I went and worked at Seattle Grace Mercy West until J’onn recruited me for the D.E.O with my relationship with Kara. I faked my death with a plane crash and with the D.E.O they changed records so Lexie Grey died. And Alex Danvers has a different birthday record. Today, the girl you met, (Y/n) she was a patient of mine.”
“Thank you for sharing this with me, and it seems you want to meet (Y/n) again.”
“I want to recruit her,” Alex blurted.
“What?”
“There’s something about them, she knows. I-I can’t explain it but she knows, I felt it.”
“Alex, you had to give up a medical career to be here. It’s natural to feel emotions from a job that lasted five years?” Kelly questioned how many years she worked in Seattle. “Seeing (Y/n) maybe brought all those feelings up. And it’s okay. You felt safe with them, you helped people and you are still doing that.”
Alex melted in Kelly’s arms. “I feel safe with you.” Kelly smiler as Alex kissed her lips. “When we meet again, I will tell her!”
“Maybe you should ease it in Alex.”
She did not ease it in. She practically yelled at you to join the D.E.O at Kelly’s office. Kelly threw Alex out of her office once your stitches were removed, and like a child at a candy store she stuck her face on the frosted glass door.
“Should I be worried?” You looked at the door.
“I promise you she is nothing like that when you get to know her. Am actually glad you took up my offer for a session with me.”
“Alien attacks can be traumatizing.”
“The alien attack isn’t why I took up your offer. There was actually a previous accident I went through, it messed up my shoulder and gave me this psychometric Star Wars power thing.”
“Why don’t you sit down. You’re gonna put these VR contact lenses in and I’m going to monitor your brain along the way. If it gets too much, I’ll jump in there with you.”
“I was hoping to actually talk to you about it, no one believed me and it was just something I needed to get off my chest.”
“Hmm you know, you and Alex don’t seem to be different from each other.” Kelly said.
“What do you mean? She is a doctor and a secret agent. I am some kid who got drugged and broke her shoulder.”
“I mean you and Alex both had something to hide. No one believed you so you hid your memories, Alex had to hide a life she loved. I think you and Alex are connected in someway. You both had a chance to get something off your chest right after meeting the other.”
“You’re making me sound like I’m her soulmate.”
“No! I’m saying something like a mentor thing.”
“I guess that would work, I don’t have anything waiting for me in Seattle anyways.”
“Yes!” Alex burst in and hugged you.
Your feet were off the ground as you struggled to get out of Alex’s hold.
“I think personal boundaries should be addressed!” You strained.
“Not gonna happen!”
“Okay, okay let the girl breathe.” Kelly frantically pulled Alex’s arm away from you.

Mysterylover watches Bleach episodes 46-47
mysterylover123
1. MOMO FLASHBACKS! MOMO BACKSTORY!!! And more bb Renji and Rukia snarking at each other. OH YAS.
2. We appear to be watching more of the Soul Reaper Academia part of the series. So good, good. + special guest star Momo.
3. And Renji gets a rival immediately, because Shonen has it’s tropes and it’s gotta follow em goddamit. And of course because “Shonen Rival” is basically code for “lover”, blondie immediately starts quasi-rival-flirting with Renji beneath a tree. Hurry up and get him back Rukia blondie here is stealing your man.
4. OK there she is. They immediately start arguing, of course and comparing powers and encouraging each other slyly in the way that Shonen rivals tend to do. Hey, “Rival” can be code for lover even if they are of opposite sexes!
5. OMG so they split into trios of 2 guys and a girl? Wow. that’s just so Naruto I can’t even. And Renji and Blondie’s 3rd is Momo? OK let’s see how this goes.
6. Ooh boy. Renji’s Team 7 or 8 or whatever runs into a really big and evil hollow who kills their redshirt classmates on their first dummy mission. Wowsa. And Holy Shit MOMO is the one to try and kill it like an idiot instead of one of the two hot-headed rivalls? (OK they immediately followed but this is clearly her idea.)
7. I do like that GlassesCap (Aizen) and Creepy Smiler show up to save them. Like, it would be kinda unrealistic for a buncha rookies to pull out a win at that point, and it’s nice to see the formerly sinister characters be heroes (SMILEY FACE’S SWORD IS CALLED SHINSO?! OH GOD YES.)
8. I’m noticing that GlassesCap is kinda hot. Like, absurdly hot. Can definitely tell why Momo has such a crush on him. And also WTF did she just do the guard?! MOMO THIS IS A VERY DARK SIDE OF YOU THAT I DID NOT SEE COMING
9. So Momo has broken outta jail and thinking about how “IT WAS TRUE” without specifying what was true and it’s driving me outta my mind. WHODUNIT WHODUNIT DAMMIT MOMO TELL ME
10. Ooh Abarai (Renji) has escaped? YAS. Did Momo break him out? Apparenrtly. Because Momo has snapped. Ooh boy YAS. She sure does like to snap.
11. Ichigo and Yoruichi? Wow, I honestly did not expect to see them again. I kinda forgot that Ichigo was the Actual Main Character after all these episodes where he basically is offscreen.
12. Ooh GlassesCap’s death has to do with Rukia’s execution date?! Well gang, it looks like we’ve gotta mystery to solve. Momo you be our Velma. (Orihime shall be our Daphne, Ichigo I guess is Shaggy, Ishi Fred and Yoruichi Cat Girl Scooby. Cause Cat/dog).
13. OK I hope hardcore Ichigo fans don’t at me too hard for this, but I’m finding his training montage here to be kinda boring? Like, maybe it’s just cause he’s been doing training montages constantly throughout this whole arc and it’s starting to feel like he’s just doing the same thing over and over again without growing at all besides getting powered up. But I’d really rather follow the other cast members right now because Ichi doing the same thing a lot is getting a little dull.
14. Though him freaking the f out at the possibility of naked Yoruichi bathing with him is pretty funny. “please don’t show me your boobs I’m too gay for that”
15. Ooh and Yoruichi and Urahara have a Past. Yup shipping them now. Again, childhood friends weakness.
16. Smirking Face be all like “Ah but I knew that you would do that and you knew that I knew” and Momo of course be like “I be the crazy one” and apparently she thinks white hair killed him? Yeah right. I’m pretty sure that’s a lie.
17. OK apparently The only reason Ruki’s bein executed is to unleash a REALY REALLY POWERFUL sword. OK Folks we got ourselves A MACGUFFIN. An EVIL MacGuffin.
18. SmirkFace definitely seems to be the Secret PuppetMaster here. Dammit looks like there’s no Orihime this week. I mean, I guess lotsa Momo and Rukia/Renji flashbacks make up for it. But still.

IN WHICH SOPHIE HATTER REALIZES HER TVTROPES.
RULES: List five tropes applicable to your character, then tag others to do the same. (Tropes Wiki)
REPOST! DO NOT REBLOG.
*BOOK SPOILER(S) AHEAD.
tagged by: @memorylost / tysm and I’m so sorry with how late this is -- !
tagging: @crystalburdened / @subserviiient / @curiousitykilledthecheshire / @bigcasinc (for Falborg!) / @more-than-a-princess / @adagaium / @anhedonialunatic / @medicus-mortem / @miraruinada (for Tatyana!) / AND YOU !
Honorable mentions, being the tropes already found under her entry on TVTropes: Berserk Button, Beware the Nice Ones, Cool Old Lady, Determinator, Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?, Heroic Self-Deprecation, Oblivious to Love, Never Mess With Granny, Silk Hiding Steel, Team Mom, Took a Level in Badass, The Unfavorite, You Are Better Than You Think You Are.
i. Stepford Smiler / Stepford Snarker - Relatively speaking, Sophie Hatter in either material is shown to be rather warped by a lie that she tells herself. She consistently states that she is fine with their current circumstances and isn’t bothered by it. To which is a complete farce, so much so, that her sisters, Martha in the book and Lettie in the movie, call her out on her behavior. Her form of expression is layered by how she perceives herself and she does not want to let it out. The movie variant capitalizes on the smiler end, the book variant capitalizes on the snarker end. Sophie creates distance between her true thoughts and feelings in order to fulfill what is expected of her (which is, admittedly, misfortune) and rationalizes how she’s been treated. She is unhappy, but she will up on a front as easily as she can to continue appearances and keep everybody else happy.
( This could be read as a sugar-and-ice personality. )
ii. Reality Warper / Compelling Voice - Another trope combination by the sheer fact that these two together are essentially Sophie’s magic. The simplest way that it can be described, and directly from the book, is that “everything she says comes true.”
The movie implies the magic itself in one aspect, by how her emotions have a major role in how she interacts with things (in the movie’s case, it was her curse). The book makes it more prominent by her: “coding” her hats by saying how the future purchaser is going to live their life, turning plant fertilizer to weed killer (without a command), talking out the poison in the air, giving a demon a thousand more years to live, breaking a deadly curse (without any formal study/intense training), saying Howl would be royal sorcerer to the King and he did become one, etc.
Notice one thing: none of these instances give particular rules and limitations to her magic; it is literally the fact she speaks magic. There are quite literally nothing bounding her magic to reality because it, frankly, affects/alters/bends reality. Her magic is remarkably reactive and there is no shortage of how much she can use it and if it’ll ever run out.
Her magic is absolutely rare and was so noticeable that the top sorcerers and sorceresses of her damn nation went after her. It is an omnipotent voice and I can see why people would flock to either A) exploit her or B) stop her before she realizes her potential.
( This reeks of Screw Destiny but it’s just her magic. )
TLDR: Sophie has powers that says ‘fuck you’ to fate and her defiant/spiteful nature is backed up by a magic that will ensure that anything and everything she says happens.
iii. Promotion to Parent / Parent Substitute - Extended in the book version but not really touched upon in the movie. Sophie Hatter raised her two younger sisters in wake of her stepmother being outright negligent and has been doing it ever since she was young. From mending their clothes, breaking apart fights, disciplining them, and to offering advice, Sophie played her role not only as the eldest daughter, but her sisters’ parent, and is also given credit for this large role by the end of the book by Fanny.
( This also includes Mama Bear. In this case, Mama Panther since Sophie was cursed to be a cat in the second book while pregnant. After Morgan was born and she was STILL a cat, her form drastically changed into a black panther to attack anyone who endangered her baby :D ).
iv. Trespassing Hero - I wasn’t able to find a particular trope that goes ‘hero frequently breaks laws without care’ without it going into chaotic good. However, once Sophie is cursed and she decides ‘fuck it, I need this fixed,’ she does end up breaking-and-entering into Howl’s castle. There’s no work around that. My girl’s a criminal, I’m so proud! She literally implants herself into Howl’s life and declares herself as his new cleaning maid, to which he actually doesn’t properly react to in both book and movie. Really, who would just let a random old woman drop into your home and hire herself to your service?
v. Defied Trope - Ingary’s customs are quite literally fairy-tale tropes that are socially ingrained and enforced. This mainly is best seen with how Sophie is treated as the eldest daughter and how her life is dictated to be of misfortune and there’s nothing to seek out in her life. However, once cursed, she quite literally defies her trope that is woven into her story and goes out to do her own thing. While this trope usually requires meta knowledge, DWJ made this possible as she provides the subversion context for readers, but makes it a defiance for the character because her character development revolves around defiance as a theme, among many.

𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚
born the sole continuance of the goldman name to a mother whose pregnancy was all but a career death - sentence , lex bore the weight of the world’s expectations on graceful shoulders from the moment she came into the light . lieutenant olivia goldman , head of the manhattan police department , can deny the salacious accused affair with the district attorney until she’s blue in the face but can’t deny the consequence of their tryst , alexandria being a painful reminder of losing nearly all her mother’s years of hard work while her father simply denied her existence and lived none the more guilted . from the start , the odds were stacked against the goldman progeny , pushing perfection as her only claim to some semblance of attention from liutenant goldman .
as a mixed race child to a white unwed mother in law enforcement , working 80 hours weeks and having spent years building her career , there was little lex saw of her mother that wasn’t something resembling exhaustion or utter disinterest . this forces her to grow independent at an astounding pace , keeping to herself as to not bother her mother with her own whims or desires . at 12 , her mother is courted by an award - winning director who requests her guidance on a police film he’s submitting — she refuses to advise on the film , but goes to dinner with him as a courtesy , and they’re married a year later in a lavish hamptons wedding in the summer . rudy delano is a world -renowned director along the likes of steven spielberg , and takes to lex like she were his own daughter . as if to balance out olivia’s coldness and detachment , he showers lex in adoration and support , encouraging her to pursue her interests of pageantry when she voices them following her 7th grade year .
considering a lifetime spent nitpicking and pushing her own facade of complete calculation , she takes the pageantry world by storm and it seems the rest of her life falls into place . a perfectionist in every sense , she maintains nothing short of flawlessness throughout high school ( taking on student council co-president , heading several clubs , and one of four school valedictorians ) and goes on to compete in the most elite of pageantry circuits . her advocacy for marginalized populations was a major platform and propelled her to miss teen new york and soon after , miss teen usa . in the live aired interview segment , perhaps among the most important moments of her life , lex makes a rare slip and accidentally comes out as bisexual when asked about the LGBTQ+ mental health crisis in her home state of new york . this leads to lex becoming the first openly queer miss teen usa , and would have likely fared well if she were to have continued ; despite its progressions , the pageant world of sponsorships seems to lag behind , and the ‘ controversy ’ of her coming out led to her leaving the pageant world for good .
on her own two wobbly feet , she continues with her advocacy and finds herself excelling in the business element of it all , going on to obtain her business degree from columbia while taking on the big screen in a blossoming film career at the encouragement of her step father . she shoots to stardom upon the release of euphoria , paired with a strong social media presence , a thriving modeling career , and a brand that becomes recognized as a household name synonymous with advocacy and entrepreneurship .
𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
perhaps lex’s most notable quality is being driven by an unyielding fear of failure and mediocrity . there is no task small enough that lex will not accomplish to the best of her execution , and if she can’t ensure perfection , she will refuse to give it an attempt at all . this all or nothing attitude stems from an obscene obsession with control and remaining in control , something those around her are all too aware of .
despite a rather charming and gregarious disposition on the red carpet , many will note that lex is incredibly reserved when meeting her in real life . the pageantry training has kicked in to give her a facade to push when she’s in the spotlight , though her true disposition is much less play and much more work . she’s stoic and serious , knowing just what to say at what time to continue the narrative that she is completely in control . cool and calculated , her affect is usually stern and unwilling to reflect any sentiment of softness or goofiness — many business associates note her absolute maturity and rationality even at the tender age of 22 . her energy , as subdued as it may be , commands the room with a power of self-assuredness that only stems from a confidence rooted in something to back it up . she’s an elderly woman in a millennial’s body , and this tends to show in her dry wit humor , relative moodiness , and general propensity for wanting things done exclusively her way .
lex’s intellect has always been a strong suit of hers , a photographic memory that allowed her to glide through school with the least of struggles . astute and well - spoken , monotone and unlikely to crack in her stony temperament , she’s a force of nature to be well reckoned with . luckily , lex shows little to no interest in engaging with petty drama and tends to keep in her own lane , losing interest nearly immediately in the mindless pettiness some of her friends wrap themselves up in . rational , arguably to a fault , lex has a bad habit of censoring herself and limiting her own commentary when in the company of anyone she needs to maintain her reputation with ; close friends , on the other hand , will easily characterize her as blunt and straightforward , almost too aggressive with her honesty for her own good . though she’d rarely voice it , she has an undeniable superiority complex stemming from a recognition that whatever she does , she’s incredibly good at ( ignoring her unwillingness to step out and try anything outside her comfort zone . )
this is the curious dichotomy of alexandria goldman , considering one of her most notable flaws is her unwillingness to invest . despite being perhaps overly honest , the moment a conversation ( or relationship ) runs the risk of becoming too emotionally risky , she shuts down . flames have been ghosted , relationships have been ended , and friendships have been cut off simply because lex deemed them to be a danger to her mission of remaining in complete control of herself and her life . the select few that have plowed through lex’s rather prickly initial interactions have earned themselves a friend forged from gold , loyal to a fault and ready to drop anything at a wind’s blow to aide those she loves most . defensive and ornery , the pageant girl facade soon blows over to reveal an anal retentive , emotionally stunted grandmother who loses her lid over the most minute of inconveniences if they step out of her pre-established plans and routines .
hiding beneath her layers of fake smiling at redundant questions , unapproachable hostility and being an otherwise unmeltable ice queen , lex harbors a deep intensity that overcomes her when allowed to reign ( and very rarely is allowed to reign ) . she does not invest in small doses and despite the relative unlikelihood of her allowing a distraction such as a relationship , the few she’s had have been intense whirlwinds led by lex’s own inability to limit herself — she’s all , or she’s nothing , but nowhere in the middle .

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had raised the hopes of Reylos, fans who longed for Rey and Kylo Ren to end up together in the end, healing the wound inflicted on the galaxy two generations earlier by Emperor Palpatine and Anakin Skywalker. The marketing certainly hinted at such and, at least for less-invested viewers, the film delivered on its promise of romance: Reylo (and Bendemption) did occur, and Rey and the redeemed Ben Solo shared a passionate kiss, which is why it may be so perplexing for the general audience that Reylos hated the ending. Two weeks after the release, they're still mourning on social media, and demanding for Disney to #RealeaseTheJJCut, a reference to an edit that would have delivered the conclusion they wanted, and purportedly what director J.J. Abrams intended. So, what happened, exactly?
While romance is certainly not a new concept to Star Wars, it was never depicted from the perspective of a woman. However, The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi made moves to remedy that: The camera stays with Rey when she interacts with Kylo; the lighting, music and the chemistry between the actors drew in many women. The trope being trapped was "enemies to lovers," a classic of romance literature. In The Force Awakens, Kylo is infatuated with a "lowly scavenger," despite himself and his training. In The Last Jedi, the two characters establish a connection that goes deeper than their pasts, ripe with wedding imagery from around the world, before separating again.
The comparisons with the doomed romance of Anakin and Padmé popped up. If the tragic lovers of the prequel trilogy married in the second movie and died in the third, surely the sequel would turn it around, allowing the last descendant of Anakin Skywalker to fix what he had broken and to triumph where he had failed.
It's easy for a certain segment of the audience to dismiss the power of romance, but it remains most lucrative literary genre in the world. Romance writers master the art of the promise and the delivery, which is a happy ending for the main couple. There are tragic romantic novels in which one or both of the lovers die, but that's not what Disney was promising with Episode IX. From that perspective, The Rise of Skywalker punishes the male lead by killing him the moment he chooses to save the love of his life. Abrams and his co-writer Chris Terrio were going for a parallel with Return of the Jedi, but that movie was never promoted as having romance at its core, and Darth Vader didn't have his entire life in front of him.
The Rise of Skywalker then goes out of its way to show how little Rey really cared for Ben, to the point where, after watching the final scenes, it's difficult to assess what impact he had in the plot. The film also does that to Hux and Rose, but in the case of Ben Solo it's particularly egregious because he's the last of the Skywalker bloodline. If they were going for Return of the Jedi parallels, they could have included either a funeral or a Force ghost, but the audience is denied that, which is a strange and cruel narrative choice.
Even worse, the ending broke the promise made in the promotional material. Yes, there was a kiss, but it's swiftly punished: The heroine ends up alone in a barren planet; the Byronic hero is never mentioned again. The other side of fandom might argue that Star Wars should have never catered to romance, but they would be the first to complain if a film advertised like Fast & Furious turned out to be a family comedy; false advertising elicits the same kinds of reactions in everyone.
Ben Solo's death, isolated from the romance, is also problematic because he was coded as a conflicted, groomed, abused, abandoned and brainwashed child soldier fighting to break from his programming. The ancillary material supports this, and in Marvel's The Rise of Kylo Ren, it's shown he never attempted to kill Luke Skywalker, he didn't burn the Jedi temple, and he didn't attack his fellow students. It was a set-up designed to turn his family against him and place him within the First Order. Han, Leia and Rey work for two entire movies to try and bring him back. By killing every single character that even attempts to turn around, the film confirms their worst fear -- that the only way out is death.
There'ss another horrifying message lurking in The Rise of Skywalker, however, if you are coming to the film from this perspective: that your family will disown you and forget you the moment you misbehave, replacing you with a "good child." That's exactly what happens to Kylo Ren; despite his efforts to come back as Ben Solo, neither Luke nor Leia nor Anakin help him. Ben has to imagine a conversation with his father to move forward, and in the end, his mother and his uncle replace him with Rey, who becomes their "found child" and assumes the Skywalker name.
But Kylo was filling a different role too -- the monster boyfriend, whose most famous example is Beauty and the Beast. While the original purpose of tales like Beauty and the Beast was to prepare girls for marriages in which they would be under the authority of their (potentially monstrous) husband, the tale evolved, and the monster became a focus for those that society had misunderstood or repressed. It's the grown-up version of little children, who feel powerless most of the time, preferring the Hulk over any other superhero, only with romance, darkness and danger thrown in; it's a way to explore a problematic aspect of reality through fiction. Unfortunately, instead of allowing fiction to play its role for women, the monster boyfriend trope is incredibly policed ("it's toxic!"), a criticism that doesn't extend to monster girlfriends (see Mara Jade's murderous origins and her eventual marriage to Luke Skywalker in Legends).
Many women in Star Wars fandom identified with Kylo Ren for those reasons, and the more the character was attacked on social media ("he killed his father!" "he's ugly, unworthy of being a hero!"), and the more stories about what really happened to him were published, the more affection he drew.
And while we are talking about ancillary material, The Rise of Skywalker contradicts almost every single narrative thread about Kylo published to date, which were hinting at redemption as far back as 2017. Most Reylos engaged with that material wholeheartedly. Despite the amazing talent involved in its creation, those fans view the ending of Episode IX as a slap in the face, and many women feel like they have wasted their time buying into a franchise that ultimately never cared about fulfilling its own promises about happy endings, telling a complete story, or even offering hope and compassion to the characters that needed it the most.
However, all of that might have been better received had the film been generous with the heroine, the first woman to be the primary protagonist in the Skywalker Saga. For two and a half movies, it even looked to be a story in the fairy-tale tradition, with a poor orphan discovering her inner power, defeating an unspeakable evil, forging friendships and, ultimately, finding the love of her life and becoming the leader of her people.
Instead, The Rise of Skywalker leaves Rey effectively where she started, on desert planet, taking with her someone else's droid and someone else's name. She doesn't grow, and she doesn't even confront or integrate her inner darkness. Rey, who had been wonderfully feral up to that point, becomes a creepy Stepford smiler.
That, in a nutshell, is why Reylos are angry, despite getting their space kiss. For many, The Rise of Skywalker felt like a bad punchline after a long con from Disney, and Star Wars has the bitter taste of a franchise that accidentally tapped into women's interests but had little interest in them as intelligent viewers engaging with the material.

So about the mech game Harumi wanted to show me...
This is Security Five. Harumi’s been using the boosted access I’ve been getting her to hijack Smilers. SecFive is running almost autonomously on her altered code at this point.
Also she turned their display pink. To make it easier to tell them apart of course.

So I feel like the main reason Dove just never clicked with me was because she seemed shady with China.BUT the main reason why people seem to think she doesn't like China is the part in the carscendents video where "What's My Name?" comes on and she seems to just not be into it at all.
But /I/ feel like when she would space out or look disgruntled, she was just listening intently to the song and waiting for parts she knew and could sing along to.
Someone also made a good point saying that it might just be Dove's face/she just might not be much of a smiler.
I'm still not sure why Dove doesn't follow China on Instagram, but there could be a valid reason.
(Edit: She does follow her,it just didn't come up in my mutual follows at first.Oopsy daisy)
((Another Edit: Dove seemed to having been acting that way the entire carscendents video, but SO many people just show the "What's My Name?" part and make it look as if she was being shady to China in particular. In my opinion ,I feel like she just wasn't having the greatest of days when they filmed it.))

Your theme is- Doctors. U v U)
Please note that I have not looked into Healin’ Good Precure at all aside from character designs, so if I accidentally copied it I apologize. Also, there’s gonna be some talk about surgery, needles, and medical horror.
Far away, there’s a magical kingdom called Asclepius. There, people live long and comfortable lives due to the amount of medical care. They are guided by King Vax and his loyal advisor, the bee fairy Screen. Screen ends his sentences in -scre, and he is responsible for using divination to try and keep Asclepius safe. However, Screen is getting old, and he’s training an apprentice, the dog fairy Preven.
When the Rotovir League attacks, Preven is tasked with finding the four destined members of Yes! Dress Medicate Pretty Cure. In addition to their standard forms, they each have three power boosts they can use (but only for a short time, and only one at a time): bandage (more magical stamina), needle (emphasis on defensive magic), and scalpel (emphasis on offensive magic). All of them can use healing magic. First, however, they need to find a way to keep the Rotovir League from sinking their claws in too deeply on Earth, and also battle the warusu they keep sending. (Warusu literally translates to Aggravate, but it’s also me making a portmanteau of the Japanese translation of the phrase “bad virus”, aka warui uirusu.)
Our leader is Ayako Satō, aka Cure Pediatric. She wants to go to medical school and become a pediatrician. Everyone who knows her says that Ayako is very helpful and studious, and everyone who’s known her since she was a child will say that it’s wonderful that she’s grown into such a kind and disciplined young woman. In reality, she’s a bit of a stepford smiler, and she’s wanted to go to med school because she blames herself for her sister’s death when they were both rather young.
Ayako is definitely going to become the dark magical girl of the season, and it’ll be up to Preven and the other cures to save her. Instead of black, she’s going to wear a really bright red because surgeons wear cool colors for relief for their eyes from flesh tones. In the mean time, she’s got some cool attacks involving stickers and lollipops.
In blue we have Mieko Okabe, aka Cure Neurologist. She’s claustrophobic and isn’t fond of sports, but she loves video games and often will use video game terms in battle. Her powers allow her to use illusions. When Ayako is taken over by the Rotovir League and becomes a warusu, Mieko ends up leading the team.
In green we have Yūki Masumoto, aka Cure Anesthetic. Her powers allow her to use a sort of venom. It takes her a while to start using her needle and scalpel forms, because she found them scary, but when she does use them she’s incredibly powerful. Even though she’s a bit of a crybaby, she’s also very happy-go-lucky; the smiles she has are real. Yūki is a bit of a daydreamer, and she wants to write comic books. She ends up collaborating with Mieko on video games, with Mieko doing the code and Yūki taking care of the story.
Finally, in purple we have Kirika Kawaguchi, aka Cure Plastic. Due to a car crash when she was little, Kirika has a wheelchair. It flies in combat as well as helps her with the fact that her powers center around building, and she will not gain the ability to walk at the end of the series unlike a certain show I won’t mention here. She wants to run a line of fashionable prosthetics and wheelchair accessories. I’ll admit, I was tempted to call her Cure Prosthetic or Cure Bioengineer, but the first feels patronizing and the latter doesn’t really fit with the theme.
Also, I ended up designing Cure Pediatrics’s standard outfit.
Yes, she has four heart shaped buns. All the girls have the mask and the same lab coat vest and skirt. However, the lab vest and skirt change slightly for the bandage, needle, and scalpel forms. In addition, the girls each have different sleeves, gloves, shoes, and symbols. Their transformation pens are kept in their left pocket. In their right pocket are three (bandage, needle, and scalpel) charms they must touch to their pens to use.
IDK IF ANYONE WOULD DO THIS BUT SEND ME A THEME AND I’LL MAKE A FANCURE TEAM BASED ON IT

Gnome Cavalier
Hello hello! I hope you all find the wait is continuing to be worth it. Today, we’ll be examining the smallest of our possible honor-bound martial combatants. As always, never let size fool you, as they’ll challenge you with all the fervor in their colorful forms. It’s the Gnome Cavalier!
How are gnomes and cavaliers going to mix? Well, let’s start with the average gnome’s ideas on organizations or creeds. Now, first of all, don’t automatically think of these individuals as on the same sort of wavelength as a gnome paladin. While they could have very similar ideas on law and justice, and they may even serve a divine power, a cavalier is focused more on their order’s creed and their personal honor. It might serve as a way for gnomes to be part of a faith without being so close to an entity as to be a paladin. If the gnome finds out they don’t agree with that faith as much as they thought, maybe they take their non-celestial steed and hightail it out of there to ally with people who they more closely agree with. As long as they keep to their own code, what does it matter they’ve switched gods? Of course, this may be very difficult for Order of the Star cavaliers, but that’s for you GMs to figure out.
More than anything, these gnomes care about honor, and that itself has got me thinking about the gnome and their fey origins. Although the fey can be tricky, devious, even underhanded, some do follow a code of conduct and consider reputation to be important. That whole, “No guest can be harmed,” thing or even keeping a brownie happy with sweets. Perhaps that carries over to the gnomes. Maybe this concept of a creed is ingrained in some of them, a leftover instinct from their fully fey ancestors. The cavalier, who depends entirely on one’s reputation and honor, seems a good fit for these small fair folk.
Keeping one’s honor and reputation may even be a way for a gnome to curry favor with a fey lord or lady in the hopes of gaining a boon. But I don’t know how much favor they’d have to curry to find out the secret of the gnomes’ banishment. That might be a black mark that will never let them gain any favors.
Dubaku the Smiler[Order of the Shield]
The wandering protector of villages and roads, Dubaku rides with only one ally: his camel, Anji. He is a pleasant person, and is known for always having a smile on his face unless the situation demands some other expression. Armed with spear and shield, he has fought bandits, gnolls, and even a manticore. For this, he demands no treasures or authority, but simply a place to rest and enough provisions to get to the next place. Dubaku never answers questions about why he travels endlessly, where he comes from, or even his age. But the villages he has visited more than once may have two or three generations who have memories of him. Who knows how long Dubaku has really traveled, or for how much longer he might continue to do so.
Oshiro Kaede of the Order of the Fox [Order of the Cockatrice]
The seasons of fall and spring are not recognized as equals to those of summer and winter by the great courts of the spirits. Indeed, there are not even any great yokai of note who claim either part of the year. Kaede of the Oshiro gnome clan sees opportunity in this, as gnomes are often targeted by powerful spirit lords and ladies of the two greater seasons. They have proclaimed themselves a gnome of fall, with a bronze maple leaf symbol now adorning both themselves and their trained wolf Akiko. They also claim an intent to build a court of like minded individuals who wish to neither burn beneath sun or freeze under moon. Of course, this is all to gain a greater reputation so that they might be sought ought as a mercenary by the two sides. The idea of leadership does have its charms, but Kaede will treat every believer as a stepping stone to further greatness. That is the way of the spirits: use everyone and everything to further ascend oneself.
Denisa Vaduva the Knight-Mother [Order of the Dragon]
Though she has no children of her own, the matronly gnome called Mother Denisa considers all the valiant protectors of the city her family. She is the most beloved of their leaders, always keeping an eye out for poor behavior, personal problems, or oncoming illness. Some assume she is the emotional pillar of the knights, merely there to help steel them for their fights and soothe their bodies and souls after. But though she is often found with a ladle, Mother Denisa is just as often wielding a blade. She trained half of the current commanders, assists recruits who are having a rough time integrating, and at least twice per year leads groups on her riding dog Bann in order to keep herself sharp. If the lord of the knights were unavailable, Knight-Mother Denisa would be more than capable of leading them to victory.

Comparable characters and routes in otomes to Mystic Messenger
Apologies, as this is going to be a VERY LONG POST AND CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!
So you liked Mystic Messenger but have no idea where to go as far as future otomes. That’s okay! Cheritz did a great job with mysme and if you enjoyed it, you’ll no doubt find someone else in an otome you probably enjoy as well, even if it doesn’t have exactly the same mechanics as mysme. For people new to the otome scene, I highly recommend Cheritz previous games if mysme was your intro to otomes, especially Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ since a lot of the characters are similar counterparts to characters you know.
For this post I’ll be using characters from:
Amnesia: Memories (PC, mobile, PS vita in Japan)
Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ (PS vita, PS4)
Collar x Malice (PS vita)
Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ (PC)
Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ (PC)
Norn9: Var Commons (PS vita)
Ozmafia! (PC)
while trying to spoil the least amount of the actual story as possible (aside from the yanderes/yangires).
Now before we do this we have to analyze why you liked the character(s) you did. To do this, bringing up some terminology you might have seen or see later that's used in the community to describe tropes/archetypes characters fit under.
The shota is the cute one, the little one. The one you want to protecc at all costs. Shotas come in many flavors (tsundere, yandere, or just plain sweet) but are always the token mini-moe of the game. Yoosung fits this to a tee. If you liked Yoosung, you may enjoy:
Yeon-ho from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ He’s honestly the spiritual predecessor of Yoosung.
Jieun from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ More of a kuudere version of this trope, another example of Cheritz heavily leaning on this trope.
Scarlet from Ozmafia! A bit of an inversion of the trope as he’s more than capable of taking care of himself. I’d file him under kuudere shota.
Jiyeon from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ Initially upon meeting. His route gives you a better idea of where he should fall in this list, but I won’t spoil it.
Senri Ichinose from Norn9: Var commons. This boy needs all the love in the world, he’s had it rough aka. You fucked up a perfectly good esper, you gave him anxiety.
Soh from Ozmafia! initially upon meeting. His route gives you a better idea of where he should fall in this list, but I won’t spoil it.
Nameless from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ though you might find him more of a Saeran predecessor.
The casanova or Bishonen... you know this type. They’re all about telling you how much they want to protect you and sometimes have an overinflated idea of their self-worth (though usually this is hiding insecurities you find out in their own routes). Mostly a harmless bunch who are surprisingly wholesome once you get past their innuendoes. If you liked Zen, you’ll probably enjoy:
Yuri from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ again a spiritual predecessor from Cheritz. Yuri is flirtatious and rather lewd but might actually be the most harmless of the Nameless bunch.
Ikki from Amnesia: Memories. Like Zen, this dude has his own fanclub. Need I say more?
Itsuki Kagami from Norn9: Var Commons. And how.
Impey Barbicane from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~Though not completely like Zen, he shares similarities enough. Also similar hairstyle lol.
Mineo Enomoto from Collar x Malice. Probably the biggest stretch here, but he leans heavily on the “all men are animals trope” while being both too old looking to be a shota and usually the butt monkey of the cast.
Megane are technically defined by their glasses, but many share the same no-nonsense attitude and often adroit behaviors, though more due to not being good at socializing than anything else. Like shotas, meganes come in many flavors (most often tsundere or kuudere though). This is usually a male-oriented term, but I find this trope to be the closest to Jaehee. Also because of the lack of female love interests in otomes, this group will be primarily male. If you enjoyed Jahee’s route, you might like:
Kent from Amnesia: Memories. Neither dangerous or as kinkiy as he may look, Kent is just a wholesome megane who doesn’t understand how to human and just really loves math. A good boy and a breath of fresh air from the wild ride that is Amnesia: Memories.
Axel from Ozmafia! Basically the Kent of this game. He’s just a good guy who deserves all the love and sweets in the world. I’d say he’s less of a tsundere due to not being able to emotion, though he has moments.
Pashet from Ozmafia! Finally a female LI! Pashet has striking similarities to Jaehee actually, though not a megane. You might think neko-chan, but she’s actually super competent and kicks ass frequently for her famiglia Boots.
Victor from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ A good boy, a wholesome boy. I wouldn’t call him a shota, though he’s the closest to a romanceable one in this game. You might also like him if you liked Yoosung.
Lance from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ Though not a megane and more of a tsundere, he shows some of the emotional adroitness meganes tend to have, as well as being super competent.
Jihae from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ Again, not a megane, but has the politeness and adroitness of a megane as well as showing similar aspects of Jaehee’s personality.
Now here’s where the tropes begin to break down when we look at (arguably) more complex nature of the tropes that make up the stories and personalities of Jumin, Seven, V and Saeran. There will definitely be spoilers from here on out because we have to talk about what happens in their routes and how we see their character progression from our initial idea of them to after their routes. **Extra note: I can’t really find someone quite like V, though there is a special section for tragic backstory further down in this post.
You should already know what a tsundere is, baka! ~ Though no one initially quite fits this bill as classic tsundere in Mystic Messenger, you definitely see it later from Seven. Traditional tsunderes doth protest too much they don’t like the heroine, and usually call you and others ‘baka” (idiot) while hiding behind a chilly exterior. At some point they usually push you away in their route, often because underneath the insults is a cutie who might have already been broken in the past.
Kuuderes are the cool ones. Like tsundere, they use a frosty exterior to hide a deliciously squishy inner romantic but are less vocal about everyone else being idiots or don’t freeze people out because of intelligence/maturity level. Jumin has traits of being a gap moe kuudere. I’d definitely call him this if I was trying to not spoil the yandere parts of his route for someone.
I'm lumping these together, but if you liked Seven because he pushed you away and then got over it (tsundere) or Jumin’s frosty initial demeanor (kuudere), you will probably like:
Shin from Amnesia: Memories. A classic, upfront tsundere. Get ready for the baka.
Takeru Sasazuka from Collar x Malice. Another classic, upfront tsundere. Many much baka.
Jiwoo from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ Another classic, upfront tsundere. Baka but now in Korean.
Van Helsing from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ Ah our megane tsundere combo. Van is a little bit of a combination of tropes, but ultimately I’d file him under very mature kuudere/tsundere. Also, call him master in a non-kinky context, he likes it.
Lance from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ Kind of an off-type tsundere/kuudere. He’s called the ice prince for a reason.
Caesar from Ozmafia! Classic tsundere. Also immediately apparent he’s a bit ax-crazy for Fuka.
Akito Shukuri from Norn 9: Var commons. Another classic tsundere. All your baka needs.
Kyrie from Ozmafia! is an atypical tsundere but shares traits of one. He definitely thinks you and everyone else are idiots, but doesn’t so much push you away as wonder why you even like him in the first place.
Normally a term used for girls, a genki boy is full of energy to an almost hyperactive degree. If the people around a genki boy are exhausted, astonished, or even creeped out by their chronic outbursts of vitality, then they probably fit the criteria. Often genki boys are in touch with their feminine side, not hetero and/or found cross-dressing either for fun or plot reasons. If you liked Seven because of his initial spunky defender of justice attitude but didn’t like that he went tsundere on you, you will probably enjoy:
Red from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ A non-tsundere version of Seven and just all around wholesome boy who actually thinks he’s a hero. Also brought to you by Cheritz.
Heishi Otomaru from Norn9: Var commons. Just for the love of god, don’t break the cutie.
Impey Barbicane from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ sometimes is also this, though he also shares traits with bishonen/casanovas.
Lupin from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ Another defender of justice and all around good boy. More mature. Calls himself a gentleman thief and will sweep you off your feet 10/10 times.
Kei Okazaki from Collar x Malice. Also more mature version and less energetic, but shares traits with when you meet Seven initially. He’s quirky and he protecc. He likes weird snacks too.
Dark and troubled past is a pretty obvious trope. Stepford smilers are obsessed with projecting an image of wholesome happiness in order to either be accepted by peers or left alone. The crafted facades of stepford smilers hide a deeply flawed person, usually breaking under the strain of keeping up their deception. They almost always have a Dark and Troubled past, though not everyone with a dark and troubled past ends up being a stepford smiler. If you liked Seven or V because of their tragic backstories and stepford smiling, you might like:
Saint-Germain from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~ Oof, and how. The tragedy cranked up to 11 for this guy. I’d recommend playing his route last of the four because it contains the most spoilers aside from Lupin. And bring the tissues while you’re at it.
Kageyuki Shiraishi from Collar x Malice. Another cranked up to 11, similar to Saint-Germain, just different details. I’d recommend playing his route last of the four because it contains the most spoilers aside from Yanagi’s. And keep those tissues handy while you’re at it.
Actually everyone in Collar x Malice to a degree, it’s just that much worse with Shiraishi.
Ukyo from Amnesia: Memories. Arguably the most tragic of all the characters on this list, Ukyo is without a doubt a tear-jerking finale to the game. Not to be confused with Ura Ukyo also having the classic slasher smile.
All of the dolls in Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ have emotional baggage, but both Yeon-ho and Tei have more due to being secondhand, as well as Nameless, but Tei might be the most since he’s also clearly experiencing reset theory.
Both Robin Hood and Hamlin from Ozmafia! are pretty tragic. You find out why on their routes.
It's never hinted during his route or others, but Kyrie from Ozmafia! is probably the most tragic of all, you just don’t find out why until fully completing the game. Also, you are a monster if you end up preferring Kyrie’s normal end.
Senri Ichinose from Norn9: Var commons fits this, though lacking the stepford smiling. You get to find out in his route how they broke the cutie.
Jisoo from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~ has a pretty sad story, but Jihae’s is equally if not more tragic.
If your fav is the guy with the best lines in the game, you probably like the deadpan snarker and might want to look at the tsundere options, as they usually have the most cutting wit and tongues. But if you liked Vanderwood’s cameos or Jumin for his lack of tsundere, you might enjoy:
Kyrie from Ozmafia! And how. The crowned king of deadpan snarking on this list.
Tei from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ It’s mostly Yuri on the receiving end of his snark, though others do find themselves victim at times. And yet he’s still called Prince Sunshine...
OKAY BIG HUGE MAJOR SPOILERS AND TRIGGERS HERE!!!! IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS OR TRIGGERS HERES A SIMPLIFIED LIST:
Non-spoiler list if you liked Jumin’s route (YMMV):
Tei from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~.
Toma from Amnesia: Memories.
Kageyuki Shiraishi from Collar x Malice.
Non-spoiler list if you liked Ray’s route (YMMV) because of break the cutie and/or dating the enemy tropes:
Yeon-ho from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~
Ukyo from Amnesia: Memories.
Nameless from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~
Caesar and Hamlin from Ozmafia!
Natsuhiko Azuma from Norn 9: Var commons.
Kakeru Yuiga from Norn9: Var commons.
NOW ONWARD TO THE YANDERES!!! YOU’VE BEEN WARNED :)
Yanderes are people who will kill for the one they “love” and are obsessed with, going even so far as to stalking, drugging, trapping, raping or even killing the MC so no one else can have them. People tend to either love them or hate them, as they are usually the more complex characters of the games, but it can be hard to see the good aspects of them when they’re busy well... doing yandere things like locking you up, drugging your drinks for your own good or trying to kill your friends because of their obsession with you.
Yangires are often mistakenly lumped in with yanderes and to add ot the confusion, some yanderes can seem more yangire or even vice-versa if they were already a bit ax-crazy to begin with. The main defining feature is that yangires lack the love aspect behind their killing to be a real yandere. These characters are ax-crazy and ready to snap at a moment's notice (or already have) and start killing the cast. Up until his route, Saeran would have been considered a yangire, though now with his route that’s obviously changed.
I’ve divided these into two catagories: minor yanderes (one bad end or situation) or major yanderes (a pervasive running theme in their route, particularly violent ones and/or yangire-like ones, sadists, etc). I will also list the minor yanderes bad ends so anyone who wishes to avoid them can! Stay safe and don’t get triggered!!!
Minor Yanderes:
You (to Yeon-ho in Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~). You can become the yandere in his Bad end 1: Unforgiven doll.
Ikki in Amnesia: Memories. Bad end 2: “I’ll get rid of those who hurt you.” Situational. Ikki shows his yandere really only once in this end, shadowed eyes and all.
Yuri in Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ Bad end 2: Triangle. I’d still argue this is more Tei’s fault than Yuri being an actual yandere.
Heishi Otomaru from Norn 9: Var Commons. Bad end only. Situational yandere. Oof, and here I thought he was just a good boy.
Sakuya Nijou from Norn 9: Var Commons. There’s a minor unavoidable yandere moment in his route but he’s mostly just obsessed with Mikoto as some kind of savior for him. The obsession is apparent, but he’s a relatively non-dangerous version and barely deserves to be on this list.
Major Yanderes & Yangires:
Tei from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~. Jesus Christ, this guy so much. He’s probably the biggest yandere I’ve ever seen played to the trope and makes Jumin Han look like a vanilla amateur version. Completely wonderful wholesome exterior with darkness lurking below that only Yuri seems to notice. This guy gate crashes all the other LI’s in Nameless besides Lance’s bad endings at least once and makes them worse. Major trigger warning: Most of the bad ends involving him contain violence due to him. Honestly, so many a detailed list is silly, but the worst probably being the implied non-consensual sex in his Bad end 3: My owner.
Toma from Amnesia: Memories. Toma is probably the male yandere trope holder as most people know about the cage, which he did years before Jumin Han. A classic yandere, he’s obsessed with the MC so much he completely overlooks that she likes him. Expect all the classic yandere elements: childhood friend, drugging, caging, violence and rape-y comments but he just really loves you, okay??? Major trigger warning: A few of the bad ends in Amnesia: memories involving him contain violence due to him, especially his route and the unavoidable violence in Shin’s route. He stretches over into other people’s routes via bad ends a few times too, but the worst probably being the implied non-consensual sex in his Bad end 2: “We’ll be together forever.”
Yeon-ho from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ is a good example of when a shota gets obsessed. He’s upgraded from minor yandere because he’s pretty goddamn obviously obsessed with you and while seemingly not particularly violent, he shows he is capable of it in Bad end 2: Competitor. To be fair to Yeon-ho though, you really need to watch out for Tei more.
Saint-Germain from Code: Realize ~guardian of rebirth~. Unfortunately, you can’t avoid the yandere in his route, though I’d mostly consider him a situational yandere depending on how you look at it since he’s following orders. However, he does make a few offhand comments in other routes that firmly put him in the major yandere category regardless.
Jisoo from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~. Classic yandere in his bad end. Shows yandere traits throughout his route, though maybe less extreme than most on this list.
Kageyuki Shiraishi from Collar x Malice. Again more situational than anything else and technically a yangire stepford smiler in other routes. Once this aloof boy likes you he’s pretty stuck on you for reasons that make sense. You can’t avoid the yandere in his route (it’s both good and bad ends) but it’s waaaaaay less creepy in the good one. Also his later bad ends are BAD. Hell, his good end is bad. Dear god, please just give this poor guy a break already.
Robin Hood from Ozmafia! Is a low-key example of this, but not for Fuka. I’ll let you figure out why. Major trigger warning: It’s debatable his route contains non-consensual sex.
Nameless from Nameless ~the one thing you must recall~ Think precursor to Saeran. Got it? Okay now play his route again to find out why.
The Wizard from Dandelion ~wishes brought to you~. Though not a playable character, it's obvious once you play through at least one route of Dandelion he’s obsessed with Heejung. It all comes to a tragic culmination in the final end of Dandelion you get from finishing all routes in the game.
Ukyo from Amnesia: Memories. Ax-crazy Ura Ukyo unfortunately puts Ukyo’s route firmly in the yangire category rather than yandere, as Ukyo himself is pretty wholesome. He kind of reminds me of V, honestly. And not just because of the photography thing. He gets a bad rap from anyone who doesn’t properly finish the game because of his ura side, but boy the explanation for why he kills you over and over again is one of the saddest routes I’ve ever played. Major trigger warning: Most of the bad ends in the entire game not involving Toma being yandere involve Ura Ukyo pretty much flat out killing you. Honestly, so many a detailed list is silly, since there’s multiple for each guys route iirc.
Ron Muraboshi from Norn 9: Var commons. Jesus lord have mercy I was not expecting this one. For all of his nonchalant attitude about everything, Ron might be the worst offender on this list. Not presented as a classic yandere as I am firmly convinced no one in the game or playing it actually likes Ron, his route devolves into some extremely problematic shit with yandere elements. His route is a relationship is based on obsession, abuse, and Stockholm Syndrome and even I felt icky after playing it, but his alternate bad ending (purple) is the worst IMO on this list because it's arguable he still sees you as disposable, while at least real yanderes cherish their object of affection. Also that 9 year age gap between him and Nanami… yikes.
Anyway, that's my list and character analysis of the otomes I’ve played so far! Hope you enjoyed it and feel free to leave me any asks or comments.
Also if you’d like to know who my personal favorites are, they are: Jumin Han, Seven, Ukyo, Tei, Saint-Germain, Kyrie and Kageyuki Shiraishi. And after reading this I bet you now know why. Just don’t make me pick favorites among my husbandos, they might kill me if they find out ;)

A few points before you get in there:
The songs are in alphabetical order by title.
It’s not a comprehensive list, just the ones I get rec’d from followers.
I’ll keep it updated if I get more recs in the future.
Definitely opened my eyes to the unbelievably large amount of gay girls out there robbing stores in between make-out sessions in a getaway car.
Have fun!
