Yadda yadda yadda jinx is generally seen as a loose canon, does whatever she wants type of character, totally unpredictable. When in actuality, up until the last few episodes all of her choices and actions r motivated by wanting to please someone else. Hell. Even in the last couple episodes, the very Last thing we see her doing is ENTIRELY MOTIVATED by devotion and love and grief for silco, she’s taking out her frustration at herself and the world, and also honoring his wishes and dreams. By shooting a fucking bomb at piltover, she’s ensuring his life wasn’t in vain, she’s honoring him. In that moment

Her entire, self!!! is centered around love and loyalty. Is centered around other people, She’s motivated by an insatiable urge to prove herself, to be useful to those she loves, to show that she can help them and be there for them and be WORTHY of there love. That they haven’t made a mistake in loving her. To prove that she can be as pivotal to them as they r for her. She goes to the ends of the fucking earth to do this. And it ends. Terribly.

She puts the people she loves on pedestals and supplicates at there feet, she has no motivations most of the show outside of making the people she loves happy… she yearns for connection and love and safety. For a home that will never leave her behind, or crumble under her feet, (an indestructible home, That she can’t destroy just by being her…)

Which is why.. it’s so. Interesting and intriguing. How now, she has no one on that pedestal to worship, no one to drag sacrifices and offerings to the feet of, no one to spiral around and build herself off of. She is a person so *affected* by her relationships w others, but there is no relationship now, no one is stepping up to the plate to love her. She’s too much. For anyone. The one person who seemed to have unlimited patience for her is dead, because of her. and maybe vi could still love her.. but. She’s already soured that relationship. Already broken that one too. Broken all her favorite toys that made her so happy. That were there for her. And scared all the rest away. (There is a limit to what vi can support and forgive to reconnect w her sister. And I believe terrorism is crossing that limit ghgh)

And maybe, jinx is cutting that part of herself out on purpose. To be stronger, she’s realized she just. Isn’t made for love. That she ruins it all in the end. That it just makes everything worse. Messier. More complicated. She’s better off on her own, but for what PURPOSE! Who will she be now! What choices will she make!?! Almost all of her actions in the show were for others, what is driving her now, now that she has this gaping void at the center of her being. Where love used to be… what kind of person will she become, Without a guide to follow… a sun to orbit around. it’s sad honestly ghghg-!!! like yeah it’s not healthy that she is this way but there’s no THERAPY IN ARCANE. THIS IS THE WAY SHE IS! And now. She’s alone… it’s rough. But also intriguing…!! And I honestly have no clue how she’s gonna act in season 2,,, or what sorta shit she’s gonna get up to. but I’m excited.

2. The Currents

GAHHHHHH THIS ONE IS AMBESSA *shakes you aggressively* GUHHH even though she’s more represented by fire. this song is about her taking control to protect what is Hers, even if she strays away from herself in the progress. i would pay someone to make an edit of Mel and ambessa to this song but I will probably do it myself so make ur offer fast. could also be Caitlyn and Maddie in the bridge, if you think about it. and i do think. all the time constantly i am not normal about this album.

3. An Act of Kindness

Hrngh………… jinx and silco………. the way his outstretched hand shaped her life…. how he was the only one there for her…… AND NOW IT FOLLOWS ME EVERY DAY?!?!!?! ugh this HITS DIFFERENT.

option 2, for the time bomb enjoyers. this could be ekko and jinx or ekko and powder, depending on what universe. because in the end he forgave her and came back for her. because in the end she forgave him and continued on with her life. And now it follows them, every day.

4. Warmth

MEL MERDARDA RHE QUEEN THAT YOU ARE!!!!!! and Jayce 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 but i see this as Mel slowly realizing she is falling for him, through the layers of possibilities and the layers of planning and high society manipulation, even that she is doing herself. and Jayce leaning on her because she Understands, she Knows.

5. Glory

the other side of the polycule JAYCA AND VICTOR HRGGHHHH DO I EVEN NEED TO EXPLAIN IF U JUST LISTEN ONCE YOU WILL GET IT I SWEAR ughhhhhhhhhhh im going to kill someone…… stories told to me, and stories told to you… but did you ever feel like they were ringing true??

because they searched for heaven together, then realized that there was no greater heaven than being with their Partner, the one they love, who their story can’t exist without.

6. Power

this one was hard to assign because i have Opinions Thoughts and Feelings about it in real life, but im going to give this one to Vi and Jinx both, but both about the ghost of each other that’s been hanging over their heads for years. jinx has the ghost of vi who betrayed her, who left her, and vi has the ghost of powder, who she can’t believe is gone. it’s a different tone than the song has for me in real life, which is fun!! love to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway in the end of the show obviously they let go of old ghosts, so there’s that. there’s still hope.

7. Two Evils

this one hit me like a truck full of lead because I’m writing all of these live as i listen to the songs on a train. this is CAITLYN. this is Lady Macbeth herself. fighting corruption that bubbles up from her own throat, clawing at the crown that cuts her head, staring her mother down in the mirror. hunting the Zaunites like animals, losing herself and finding herself in the pieces below. “it pays to be the nice guy sometimes” it sure does cait GAHHHHHHGH i need everyone to listen to this album Now.

8. Send Them Off!

JAYVIK IS BACK BABY and they brought religious symbolism :D yayyyyy!!!!!!! in which viktor is the sin and the liberator, and Jayce is the sinner and the pledge. “be the power to compel me, hold me closer than anyone before, set me free” are you serious. are you for real right now. i will kill someone (affectionate)

CLOSE ENOUGH WELCOME BACK JINX AND VI! they can take turns paralleling this song. they deserve it. the helpless hope of family truly is something special. wowee im so glad british alt-rock band Bastille knows about the arcane sisters :) (this came out in 2014) anyway idk about you but i can see their journeys changing and intertwining in this song. and if you don’t see that then you are wrong. sorry.

Jayce when he fell to the bottom of zaun and had to pull himself up with his bare hands like viktor, Jayce when he finally understood viktor’s journey, Jayce when he saw the fate of his world that he made years ago. and of course that’s viktor speaking at the end. Just pretend his accent is there ok I don’t care that’s him. leave me alone I’m normal about this album.

im pretty sure i never finished editing this and putting all my thoughts into it but its been in my drafts for like a month and i cannot delete it bc i spent too long on it im just scared to post it because i dont wanna upset anyone but im tired of it being in my drafts so im just posting it with a single tag and running pft i know if i actually reread it i'll just keep adding thoughts and itll never get finished so im gonna not look over it HAHA

its basically me ranting about other people being upset over "some s2 plot points were unnecessary" and how a lot of it was actually needed for the story so if u dont think youd like reading maybe just scroll idk

that type of mindset is so silly bc when u think about it for more than 2 seconds, the arcane team spent porbably over THREE YEARS animating and storyboarding and doing the best they could to 'wrap up' what was supposed to be an entire THREE SEASON ARC into NINE episodes

i GUARANTEE they agonized over not only EVERY LITTLE DETAIL they felt was necessary to the story BUT ALSO painstakingly animating said little details BECAUSE IT WAS NECESSARY TO INCLUDE IN THE STORY

like obviously its fine to dislike how it turned out i know not everyone will like it as much as i did and thats totally fine however just because u didnt totally like how things went over doesnt mean it was unnecessary kjdlskjfd

and im not saying s2 is completely perfect and therefore unable to be touched by criticism. theres some scenes even i dont care for when i rewatch it, same as s1, but theyre still important to the story nonetheless lol

‘ishas death was pointless it didnt change anything’ did we miss the part where jinx got so depressed that she tried to blow herself up (CHARACTER DEPTH) and she finally got to talk with silco and ended up helping in the fight bc of what he n ekko said (PLOT PROGRESSION) and jinx let go of vi so that vi could finally let go of powder (CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT)

also since when did a character death have to always mean smth HAHA just because she didnt actually kill vander doesnt make it pointless💀💀 it was important to hers and jinx’s character: smth smth like isha sacrificing herself for someone she loves, and jinx watching someone someone she loves and deeply connects with sacrificing themselves for her even if she probably thinks she herself is not worth saving,, (i think idk lmfao)

and it also helps to catalyst viktors machine herald form bc singed takes and merges him with vanders beast (the beast is like lowkey dead after she blasts him so like,, theres that too) the show is very centered around the snowballing/domino effect of one thing leading to another to another to another and so on and so forth.

"jinx vi cait sevika and isha couldve just left" isha gets scared as she watches jinx thrown to the ground and noxian soldiers inch in on her with spears. what isha did saved jinx's life because ambessa was determined to kill jinx too. it didnt kill vander but it immobilized him enough as well as the surrounding soldiers so that the fighting would stop and our mc's could escape

jinx joins the fight in the end because of what ekko says and how she connects it with isha. "no matter what happened in the past, its never too late to build something new, someone worth building it for" which presumably means fighting to fix the future of the two cities i think idk

its fine to be sad about her death obviously but lets not pretend the rest of the show didnt happen lmfao... it would be pointless if literally no one reacted at all but thats very much the opposite of what we saw HAHA... and it probably felt like she got pushed to the side never to be mentioned again (bc no one ever mentions her again HAHA) but u can clearly see how tired and Over It jinx was after isha dies, and how it helped her finally let go so everyone else can move on. like no one mentions her but jinx incorperates parts of isha into her airship decorations (bunny ears on the balloon, shart teeth from her hat on the turbine, designs on her goggles on the windows) and she wears the same pink face paint that isha did

also we just wouldnt have that beautiful montage of isha and jinx in her final moment if it wasnt meant to be important lol

but yeah u gotta remember how much the writers had to fit into s2 in order to get a decent ending lmao

After finishing two bottles of cheap liquor, you were plastered beside your girlfriend. Who was much better at handling her alcohol, and was only tipsy compared to your inebriated state. Your legs draped over her lap as you laid your head back against the sofa with a sigh.

She was still sipping on her glass, running a hand up and down your leg. You smiled, "Hey, Sev?"

Her brown eyes shifted to meet your e/c ones, "Yes, doll?"

"Do you remember the night we first met?" You asked, sitting up a bit.

It was just another typical day in the fissures. It was filled with trading, getting into a few fights with brawlers that lingered on the streets, and with you on your way to get a drink at the last drop before you headed in for the night.

Sevika chuckled as she played with her glass, "I remember saving your ass."

You were sitting at the bar, a drink in hand as you made small talk with Thieram. Music was blaring throughout the small building, the bass shook the stool you were sitting on. People were dancing on the floor drunkenly, playing their card games at the round tables, enjoying drinks with their friends and partners. Smoke could been seen throughout the whole place from the cigars and shimmer.

Some dude, probably twice your age, came up to you. He begged you to come with him. You said you weren't interested in men before telling him to get lost. That only enraged the man, and resulted him in your face as he started to scream at you. Calling you names. He was close to hitting you before he was suddenly thrown across the bar. The entire bar fell silent as they gathered around him with weapons drawn.

"You did." You smiled, "Everyone always said you were scary, but that night.. It made me see you differently."

Sevika looked down at you, with a very subtle look of concern. It was shocking that to see someone who was so tough, soften towards you. Especially that person being known as the scariest woman in Zaun. Before then, you believed the rumors. That she was not someone to fuck with. But there she was, standing above you with worried eyes. It changed how you saw her. No longer scary, but a protector.

"That never changed. You're lucky you managed to make me go soft on you, I don't let anyone see me the way you do." She told you before slowly taking a sip from her cup.

She ended up having a few drinks with you to make sure no one bothered you for the rest of the night. The two of you hit it off immediately. You spent hours talking to her, telling her about how you grew up on the streets. How your parents had passed away when you were ten so you had been on your own for a long time. That you often snuck up into the upper city to steal items to trade for coins and items. She told you about her as well, how she grew up. Opened up about Vander, and why she made the decision to side with Silco. Even went on a little rant about her annoyance for his daughter, Jinx.

"Oh, please. You're just a giant, sometimes aggressive and murderous teddy bear." You teased with a giggle.

She gave you a look with a raised eyebrow. "And you're lucky I love you because if anyone else called me a teddy bear, my blade would be in their chest."

this is more me rambling and you being on the receiving end due to divine fate or whatever but. i’ve been thinking about silco + LONG haired partner/spouse (regardless of gender). like long long hair and him being the observant little rat man he is having v specific (all loving) opinions on whatever hairstyles said person uses with their long hair. but also being a bit full of himself and being like “hmmmm i’m the only one allowed to touch this hair or admire it” and just fiddling with it affectionately without realising it’s habit.

if this is within context of already being together when he picks up jinx i feel like she would go wild over having family with long hair! no one in her old group had it and neither does sevika/silco. she’s just got her lovely little grabby hands and a promise that u 2 do each others hair :,)

While there's a level of familiarity between you and Silco that comes from your years and years of working together, it had never prepared you for the first time you felt the tickling feeling on your scalp of your hair being touched.

You'd been leaned over his desk, pointing something out in the ledger you'd laid out for him, your hair falling over your shoulder like a waterfall to pool on the surface. You barely noticed his movement until his fingertips had already picked up a lock of your hair and weaved it through his fingers.

Against your better judgement, you said nothing and powered through it. Despite your long-standing tenuous friendship, far be it from your place to dictate what the King of Zaun did - and it's not like you entirely hated it. In fact, you were thankful that your long sleeves hid the goosebumps on your skin.

But it proved to be your downfall - your inaction at his action - because it opened a door that you weren't even sure existed.

That one touch, that gliding of fingertips through the ends of your hair evolved into more. A quiet compliment when you wore your hair differently, particularly in the sleek ponytail you favored when you had work to do that was not balancing Silco's checkbooks. Once, when you were filing something away in one of the storage rooms of paperwork, Silco had accompanied you and from the corner of your eye you saw him wrap your hair around his fist, clenching it like he was going to pull.

He did not, but you knew exactly what was going through his mind in that moment, and you'd be lying if you said it hadn't gotten you a bit warm, too.

"I think I may cut it," You said one day when he walked by you in the office to retrieve something from the shelf, his fingertips gliding through the strands as he passed. Silco's footsteps froze at your words, keeping his back to you as his hand fell to his side.

"No. It's better long."

"It gets in the way so much-"

"I like it long."

And the subject never came up again.

It took some time for you to cross that line in the other direction, unsure of the meaning behind this new step you'd taken with him, but it hadn't even made him flinch when you dropped something off at his desk and took an extra second to sweep his hair back into place with your fingertips.

Instead, he leaned into your touch, and you knew that maybe you were getting in a bit deeper than you'd expected. Especially when you managed to coax a sigh from him for the first time as your nails scratched lightly against his scalp. It was addicting, your favorite being at the end of a long night when his hair would begin to fight against the pomade and the ends would curl just the slightest bit.

Silco would let you play with it, twirling it around your fingers and making the texture more pronounced. He'd be displeased, but never say a word.

You found yourself pushing that boundary further and further until one night when he's got his fingers digging into the bridge of his nose to alleviate the brewing headache, you stopped in his office to say your goodbyes before going home.

As per your ritual whenever you saw it, you smoothed the little pieces of hair back into his hairstyle. Then, feeling a bit bolder at the way he instantly relaxed at your touch, you bent down to press a kiss to his forehead, right at the crease between his eyebrows.

And things progressed from there, every day a new step being taken until you found yourself naked in his bed, curled in his arms as his fingers combed through your hair.

Like a meteor, Jinx fell into your lives and entangled herself so thoroughly that it'd be impossible to separate yourselves. The moment Silco brought her home and introduced the two of you, she latched on tightly, elated at the prospect of having someone like you to care for her.
