One thing I really love about Slay the Princess is that pretty much every single fan-made princess out there... could be canon.

Because guess what? Shifty's infinite, she said it herself. All those vessels that we can gain throughout the game are likely only a fraction of the multitudes she contains, so there's probably a fairy princess, a mermaid princess, a bug princess, a poisonous princess, a pirate princess, a vampire princess, a mad scientist princess... the possibilities are endless. Every single fan princess that you make could exist.

i've seen a bit of talk about voices like Hero, Paranoid, Hunted and Cold getting bodies of their own and handling it badly for their own different reasons, but there is another Voice that would probably have a hard time with that.

I'm talking about Stubborn.

It's easy for him to get us back up after sustaining terrible injury when he's just a voice in our head, yes... but what about if he had a body of his own? What about him learning the hard way what that's like?

The way that the White Streak is originally from Hush (I'm like 80% sure that was its first, and for a while only, appearance) is so funny to me because like, even before the graveyard guy was retconned into being Actually Jason for the first half of the fight there's absolutely NO reason for the white streak to be there. IIRC it goes completely unacknowledged, and there's no implication of anything that could have caused it. Bruce assumes that Clayface fudged some details but even in the pre-retcon version of the story in which that could have possibly been the case because Jason wasn't intended to be back, that would be not at all a reasonable detail to fudge?? Like that definitely makes the disguise weirder and more suspicious and in no way in line with a natural development of growing up into a young adult over the, what, three? four? years Jason was dead. Why the fuck did Clayface give him the slay little bleach job? Is he stupid?

So many straight ship enjoyers have a weird victim complex abt ppl disliking their ships. They jump to “you only hate it because it’s straight” with little to no awareness of how the outside world works. It makes me a little concerned for their intelligence. I know gay shippers also throw around the “you hate it because it’s gay” accusation a lot but at least that comes from a place of realism. Homophobia is rampant even in a lot of seemingly progressive internet spaces, so it makes sense that people would assume that’s the reason for people getting a little too aggressive against queer ships. But heterophobia isn’t real, even if some queer people do hate straights that’s a personal issue, not a societal one

Straight people are in everything, literally everything. Even a lot of queer media includes some trace of heterosexuality. That coupled with the real life homophobia queer people face, it makes sense that a lot of us don’t have much interest in seeing MORE straight ppl in our fan content. It baffles me that many queer fans can’t seem to wrap their heads around this concept??? Are ya’ll trying to make yourselves look like one of the “good” ones or smth???

I think this is also an easy way for people to write off different opinions. “You don’t actually have an interesting critique, you’re just gay” or smth like that. They also always end up turning it into some subtly homophobic rhetoric about how “not everything has to be gay” and “stop trying to make that character a lesbian.” It’s always the evil gay agenda at hand. Have you ever considered maybe your ship sucks ass and not everyone has to like it??? Just a thought

And I want to clarify that I do enjoy a lot of straight ships. But when I see fellow queer fans uninterested in those pairings or preferring to ship same sex couples instead, I mind my own damn business and let them think differently. I don’t clutch my pearls and accuse them of only hating the ship because it’s straight, because so what if they do?? That is not hurting anybody. More likely than not, that person is just sick of people irl trying to make them feel abnormal for their sexuality, and they want to focus on the pairings that provide them with an escape from that. That issue is far more important ham the imaginary fear that straight people might become oppressed
