Basically the Boston Celtics are doing something way less cool than they think and everyone's focused on the Pittsburgh Penguins using dated memes to mock a girl who's been through it (So maybe Sectonia, considering how often I tag her with that)
Sure. Why not?

Hi. So I’m not a Layton guy and all THAT familiar with the lore, but a close friend of mine is, and as far as I understand Layton has a dead girlfriend? Can I please know who Magolor’s dead girlfriend equivalent in this AU is? I’m legitimately so curious. /pos
Tumblr media
I have been thinking A LOT about which Kirby character would fit Claire's (dead gf) role. In the end I chose Taranza bc I feel he and Claire are the most similar in character. They're both really good at what they do (Claire: brilliant scientist - Taranza: immaculate mage), quick thinkers, humble, and have a lot of love to give.
I'll explain more under the cut (along with images of Claire and younger Layton for design ref), but Taranza could've also fit in as a couple other characters bc I made Sectonia as Descole. In this essay I will-
Tumblr media
In Kirby there's an interesting connection between Magolor and Taranza. Primarily based on that one Magolor portrait in that haunted house in Triple Deluxe (like ok huh????) and also that one Star Allies Wave 3 illustration.
With that portrait existing, to me it implies that Magolor has met Taranza and Sectonia before the events of the game somehow. This theory is further backed up with the Old Friend mask in Merry Magoland. Magolor would HAVE to have known what Joronia looked like before her transformation, and that means he would also have met Taranza too at that time. I could be completely wrong about this HAHA but those are my thoughts on that.
When Wave 3 was announced, I didn't think much on the connection of the 3 characters other than they were from the first three core games of modern Kirby. But then they posted this art piece.
Tumblr media
It's so cute how Magolor and Taranza combined their magic to create a shield for Kirby!! Both of their respective magic circle designs are melded together perfectly. Did they practice together on their own to perform this or was that a lucky in-the-moment occurrence? Either way, they must know and understand each other's magic abilities to a decent extent. Like how both Claire and Layton understands each other's careers and goals. Layton is a professor in archeology. Claire is a scientist researching time travel and other stuffs. Those fields go hand in hand, and the two do what they can to support and improve each other's passions.
Now onto the other characters that Taranza would've fit as and reasons why I ended up putting him as Claire.
So I put Sectonia as Descole. Descole has an extremely loyal partner/butler/henchman named Raymond. Yea Taranza would easily fit as him, but a few things made me decide not to. Descole may appear cold and not show it, but even in his madness he cares for Raymond. He does order Raymond around, but he still gives Raymond freewill to do as he pleases. Sectonia is very controlling over Taranza. If Raymond were to make mistakes, I don't see Descole punishing him for them. Sectonia would. She blasted Taranza away for mistaking Dedede as the hero of the lower world. Maybe when she was Joronia she wouldn't and wasn't as controlling but....I feel we don't have the full story on their relationship. I also focused more on Sectonia's overall in-game personality. I absolutely love seeing the two spiders enjoying each other's company and having fun, but in-game we never really got what Joronia really thought of Taranza. As Sectonia, she saw him as a disposable servant. You can say her personality was corrupted by the mirror, but I personally believe the mirror actually amplified her negative feelings and views. Negative emotions are brought up a lot in Kirby lore. I personally find that more interesting than just the mirror possessing her or something. I may be very wrong on that, but those are what I thought about.
Last reason, which is uhm, Raymond saves Descole from death FGDHSJ I don't think I need to elaborate on that. It would be so neat and ironic to have Taranza as Raymond, but I also wanna keep things in line as possible with Kirby lore canon.
Yet, who could be Raymond then? Idk fgdsj that's why I struggled so much. If Claire wasn't an option, Taranza would've been Raymond.
Now the one other character Taranza could've fit as is Descole's late wife. His wife was never mentioned by name, to my memory, and didn't have a huge role in the games. There's not enough information on who she was. I wanted to give Taranza a fitting role in personality and importance.
So in the end after all that thinking, Claire it is! I also don't know who else in the Kirby cast would fit her better and be Professor Magolor's late partner. One may think Susie would fit Claire more, but I've already decided she will be Emmy. Emmy's and Susie's personalities are very similar to me. And Emmy's lore? Fits quite well with Susie's. I'll draw that at some point.
So uh yea. Thanks for reading all that if you did! Hope you enjoyed the insanity

As you may have seen on my Kirby therapy tier list, I put Kirby himself in the "needs therapy" tier.
I've seen people argue that Kirby doesn't need therapy or that he could even be the one playing therapist to others in the series. I don't disagree with these sentiments, although it's just a matter of interpretation more than anything.
There are actual reasons as to why I put Kirby himself in the tier where he is. I'll make it clear that it's based on my personal interpretation of him, but here's why:
I get the sense that Kirby must be really feeling the weight on his non-existent shoulders to be playing the hero all the time. He's been through so much, has confronted so many eldritch horrors, and have saved so many people, and it definitely has to be affecting him mentally. Even if he attempts to repress it, that doesn't mean the stress isn't there.
And the thing is that Kirby, at least in my interpretation, is a bleeding heart. He cares about people so much. He's always been wanting to help others that need it. He feels like it's an obligation for him. If he ends up failing to save someone, it hurts him. It would hurt him and break his heart if one of his friends were to die, or if a loved one of one of his friends were to die.
I'll mention two incidents where he feels like he failed: the deaths of Sectonia and Max Haltmann.
Kirby wishes that he helped save them, and it really hurt him that he didn't. When he was informed by Taranza and Susie that they were trying to save their respective loved ones, and told him about their backstories and how Sectonia and Haltmann weren't always evil and that they were corrupted by outside forces, it broke his heart. Both situations broke his heart. He wishes he could've helped Taranza and Susie get the happy endings that he believes they deserved, and the fact that it didn't happen makes him feel like he failed them.
Taranza and Susie aren't mad at Kirby over it, though. They understand that he was just protecting his home, and they feel more responsible for their loved ones' death than he is. They're friends with him, and although the process of them becoming his friends was admittedly a little awkward, in the end they don't hold a grudge against him despite the initial bad starts they had with him.
(Note that I headcanon that Susie is generally pretty guarded, as she hasn't opened up about her backstory to most people. But Kirby is one of the people that she did disclose her backstory to, although it was a little while after becoming friends when she did so, and he promised not to tell anyone when she said to keep it secret. Needless to say, learning about the Haltmanns' backstory was really horrifying and upsetting for Kirby)
I've seen people come up with the interpretation that Kirby saved everyone in the Switch games (including saving Hyness and Leongar) because of the guilt that he has over the 3DS tragedies, and I think that's a great interpretation. Enough to make me want to adapt it for my headcanons. And when it makes him look back at those previous incidents, it makes him upset. Kirby still wishes he could've helped save Sectonia and Haltmann like he did for Hyness and Leongar.
And so this is something that my interpretation of Kirby could use therapy over. He feels guilty and that he failed in those two situations. That, and alongside whatever stress he could (secretly?) be having over the weight on his shoulders of playing hero all the time.
I'll mention another thing for my interp's Kirby: After the events of Milky Way Wishes, he didn't see Marx for a long time, and it made him believe that he killed him. It made him sad, because even though Marx did turn out to be evil at the time, Kirby had the feeling he could've been redeemed and that they could've been friends. He would've loved to see Marx survive and do better, but there was a time where he thought that he died, and it admittedly upsetted him.
But Marx came back. It turns out he survived Nova's explosion, and crossed paths with Kirby again a long time after. Kirby was very happy to see that he survived and they became friends. The same also goes for Magolor, because Kirby didn't see him for a while after RTDL and was worried, but he was happy to see him come back and become a friend as well.
At least Marx and Magolor came back and became Kirby's friends, but sadly Sectonia and Haltmann did not and will not. Kirby will always feel the weight of those tragedies.
That sums up my thoughts on the matter and as to why I put Kirby in the "needs therapy" tier on that list. I do believe he can handle his problems a lot better than most of the others in the cast, but there are legitimately stuff he'd need therapy over. Of course, if you're one of those who believe he doesn't need it or that he himself is the therapist, bravo to you. Funny enough, the latter is also somewhat existent in my verse's Kirby too, on top of him also needing it.

Just needed to get it out
everytime someone just makes Taranza personality just sobbing about Sectonia, it's annoys me. Has anyone even done Taranza without mentioning Sectonia's name for one second, it's like that what his whole character is and it makes me hate him more and more, and then they bring in Dark Meta Knight like he caused this, tbh i don't really care if he did or didn't there was no evidence stating he did and Taranza doesn't even know but it's like people coping mechanisms to just torture my poor little edgy borb with it by making him suffer and that makes me hate Taranza even more.
(just gonna bring in a theory just why not) I have a theory that Sectonia is just the mirror version of Joronia since the only time we see her real form is in the mirror of an artwork which means Sectonia just yonked her into the mirror trapping her inside cuz it makes no sense why she transforms into a wasp. (anyways back to me ranting)
I like Taranza and his design but how tf am i suppose to feel bad for him if his personality is just Sectonia and every bad thing that happens to him is just so funny, atleast Taranza in the manga has some personality. Also just noticed how Taranza got fucked up in the most possible way ever.
• First he loses his queen.
• Second KTD is overshadowed by KPR which has the same story but different aspects (also the name sucks who came up with Kirby Triple Deluxe it doesn't even contribute to the story), has one of the same sub-game but different and Susie has a personality. Despite the game coming first and having a original story Hal just decided to do the same thing and make it even cooler.
•Thirdly everytime he's in the fucking artwork it always shows Sectonia (like why is he making that fucking cookie of her, that must be so awkward and weird).
•And lastly that face mask of his dead queen, dang Magolor is just so savage that he went back in time just to see Joronia so he can create a mask (just imagine that you have someone you love the most just for someone to make a mask outta them).
Taranza is the most misrepresented, tortured character in the whole series.

🥀 for whichever oc you want! :D
🥀 (Wilted Rose) - Do they have a Soul form? What would it look and act like? How much control over themselves do they have? Is it still possible to save them, or are they too far gone?
*Sweats nervously* Oh, my dear, dear anon. Beware! You have hit the jackpot of DOOM! /jk
This subject is very spoiler heavy for 'Broken Hato' and its sequel fics in my Hatoful Dreams series, so I have to tread carefully.
Does Olympea have a Soul form? Well, her future soul is certainly in a form. It may even retain some awareness. Where it is and why, how long it has been there or will continue to be there, I cannot tell you.
...Have you ever heard anyone say people die twice? First when their body goes and finally when everyone who knew them has forgotten them and passed on themselves? The Ancients are dead. The Heroes of Yore are long lost and cursed to be forgotten. Only Galacta Knight remains and his memory is not only fading after his endless imprisonment, it's also affected by the curse. But he is still alive. Wisps of his friends still linger in his memory. As long as he holds on, some of their presence may linger. Is this a blessing or a curse? And for whom? Will they go with him...or will he go with them? Where are they going?
But let's ignore all of that for a moment and think about what a Soul form normally means. A character is driven to the extreme, to the threshold of death, but their determination prevents them from giving in just yet. Their body warps and keeps fighting in a last ditch effort while their mind is already degrading. You don't come back from this. Not unscathed. Maybe you just straight up turn into paint and die (Drawcia). Maybe you return, but you're undead and keep some eldritch traits (Marx). Maybe you go to superhell, gain catholic guilt and fight the personification of your sins before becoming a questionably trustworthy salesman in another world (Magolor). Maybe you go insane and wither, with your last remaining essence joining a giant plant (Sectonia). Maybe, if you're very lucky, you finally get purified and your reincarnated form gets another chance at a better life (Void). Maybe you're even assimilated by a reaper butterfly, hold on to your will to live and steal its power for yourself, before finally letting your last remnant reunite with your counterpart (Fecto Elfilis).
Let's say some catastrophe like that happens to her, hypothetically.
[CW: loss of sentience, amalgamation, body horror, death. Features some headcanons about the physical makeup of Astrals/Puffballs and how Soul Matter affects that.]
If she had to push it beyond the limit to keep fighting it would be to save her friends. It was always her greatest Dream to be a hero and she is very determined to achieve that! ...But ironically, as her body is so stable and uniform in its makeup, it never had to make Soul Matter to glue itself back together to keep from collapsing before. Being flooded with too much of it at once means she has little control over it. It would corrupt her.
As she keeps fighting and her mind deteriorates she'd slowly be reduced to nothing but a fighting machine, mowing down her foes left and right without a care about collateral damage. Soon she wouldn't be able to distinguish between friend and foe anymore. Anything that stands against her is getting crushed. When she reaches the tipping point and only Soul is keeping her hollow shell going, her now jelly-like body would meld with her weapons and armour. What little magic her unholy cyborg body contains would only serve to make the impact of her attacks greater. Every hit of her club shakes the earth, shatters dreams and breaks the resolve of anyone nearby with its shockwave. Her previously modest finger gun morphs into a devastating laser cannon. She swings and stabs her glaive with such speed the gusts of wind and concentrated energy shoot out as cutters and slice all around.
I doubt she could be fully saved from this form, since there won't be much left to salvage of her organic body as most of it has melded with her metal armour. She would be unrecognisably, irrevocably altered. Yay? (-Ŏ⌒Ŏ- )
Oh! Why not make a little blurb while we're having fun? :)
Soul of Olympea: Shatterer of Dreams
Once a brave hero protecting the people, now corrupted, this amalgam of determination and automation has lost all reason. No longer able to distinguish friend from foe, she lashes out at everything that moves. Stop her rampage before there's nothing left to protect!
Good thing this is all just a hypothetical, right?
(I really wish I could say that I don't enjoy putting her through the wringer, but that's more of a retroactive "NOOO! What have I done to you, my girl?!" after getting attached to what was supposed to be a tragically doomed background character. Oops?)

That last Tillda post got me wondering, assuming she ever does reunite with Taranza, how would she react to finding out everything that's gone on (from Sectonia's downfall to everything her brother went through) and why he hasn't been able to keep in touch with her? How would Taranza react after everything? I imagine it'd be super emotional, but how exactly would it go down?
Wellll I'll hold off on super-specifics for now, but I don't think it would work out great (at least during the initial confrontation). Once she learns of Sectonia's death, Tarantillda would have sympathy for her little brother; even if he has earnest intentions, though, it would be hard for Tillda to see herself as anything but an emotional crutch for Taranza now that the person he actually seemed to care about is gone, you dig?

Dazor: Hello Peony. I’d ask about your ghosts and powers, but it seems that’s already been covered. Could you say more how you feel on Nick and Rhiainfellt? Understandable if that’s too much, otherwise more about any of your parents’ friends?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
...But it's okay! I have Glock. And you know what I think? You only need one good friend to truly be happy. And I've got more friends than that, anyways! They're just not my age. I know I should probably try to be nicer to Rhiainfellt. I can only imagine she feels really alone. A long, long time ago— like way before me or even my parents were born, there was this mass exodus of people who used magic from intergalactic society. Among these people, the Jambandrans especially suffered. Most of them... uh, didn't make the journey, and even fewer have survived to modern day. Rhiainfellt's the only Jambandran I've ever met. And I imagine that has to be pretty lonely. Not knowing anyone who looks like you. Not knowing your history or culture or where you came from. It also doesn't help that she can't use magic— just another thing that makes her stick out like a sore thumb amidst her family. And with all of that in mind, I wish I could like her, but... I dunno. She's depressing. She's really resentful, and I think she should give her mom more credit sometimes. I don't think she feels the way Rhiainfellt thinks she feels about her at all. Then as for Nick... kind of self explanatory, yeah? Just about any person associated with the Mirror World is nothing but trouble... and people allied with Dark Mind especially. I don't care if Nick's dads think Dark Meta Knight is nice. He's a monster! And the less time I spend around him the better. Sorry, Nick. Both that I can't hang out and that you have to be subjected to that buffoon. It's not your fault your parents have bad taste.
...Oh my gosh! What a colorful cast.
This is another ask that only ended up being so much about Peony and more about the world she lives in and the people surrounding her, but it was still fun to answer. I like and have thoughts on all of my fankids, even if she's the favorite.
I think I may be the only person out there who ships Daroach/Rick. To my credit, it started as a joke. But then I got... invested somehow? In my Kirbyverse they grew up together, were partners in crime for a bit, then had a messy breakup after Rick turned over a new leaf and Daroach didn't. And now they've made amends!
Pick is here too, of course, because there is NOTHING I cannot stand more than when people remove a canonical female love interest from the equation to ship her more popular partner with a guy. Not that Rick is a popular character or that it happens to him. But it's about the PRINCIPLE of the thing, y'know? And Rick has two hands.
Also, yes, before anyone gets on my case for it: DMK was involved with The Sectonia Incident in my interpretation of the Kirby universe. I think people can get... really weird about people writing the character that way sometimes?
There's this pretty aggravating trend I've noticed in the fandom where something that is not canon will get misconstrued as Objectively Canon (I.E DMK being involved with that, Void Kirby theory, ETC), then people who are annoyed with this misinfo will go around saying canon actually Objectively Disproved that thing. Which... it did not do, either. Canon makes no comment on these situations. There is no "correct" interpretation. Just let people have fun, man.
So, yeah! I think DMK deserves to be a little bit of a dick. As a treat. I think portraying him as not the instigator of that incident, but rather a loyal servant who helped Dark Mind get away with all of that makes him an interesting parallel to Taranza himself. I like writing it that way, so it's canon to my Kirbyverse and by extension the world Peony lives in.
Which is all to say Peony's not a fan of him. Even though, as usual, she's sort of simplifying the situation. DMK is not a wonderful person, but he's no bogeyman, either.
Rhiainfellt is interesting. I originally came up with her based on the simple idea of "Awww... wouldn't it be cute if one of the Mage Sisters adopted a Jambandran like Hyness adopted them all those years ago?" But the more I've fleshed her out the more... weird and messed up she's become. I think she has an American Psycho monologue going on in her head at all times.
A troubled kid for sure. You know it's bad when even the girl who talks to dead people thinks someone's a little too much. Ohhhhh, poor thing. 😔
To be clear she doesn't have another parent or anything, by the way. All hail Zan Partizanne's single mom swag.

Prompt: Snowed In
61. snowed in
requested by: ironforest4
It was snowing outside
road, trails, tress, were covered in snow, everything!
in the Lor Starcutter, Magolor and Taranza are inside. Magolor had beanbags in the guest bedroom in the hallway, so they both went in there and sat down on them.
"Magolor, when do you think this snowstorm is gonna stop?" Taranza was worried, he has to go back home soon in 1 hour.
"I checked the weather, it says it will go on all night, then it will stop somewhere at 5 AM."
Taranza groans, thinking about what he should do for the rest of the night. he get's up and tells Magolor of what they should do.
"maybe... um, we could bake or do board games?"
but out of nowhere the lights go out, Taranza does a little squeak and grabs Magolor for safety. Taranza got a little scared and accidentally got very close to Magolor, and their faces almost touching. Taranza couldn't see in the dark, but Magolor could see well and has night vision.
"uhh Taranza, I think you're a little too close."
"o-oh, sorry, I got scared." he get's off of Magolor, and Ranz is now twiddling his thumbs of how embarrassed he is, but Magolor looked at him, he kinda looked cute.
"well, I think I'll make some hot chocolate, and make some soup for myself."
"but Mags you can't see in the dark! or you say that you aren't a cat..." Taranza does a little giggle, but Magolor doesn't really mind of what he just said.
"Taranza, I am a cat- but you better not tell anyone. I'm telling you this cause I trust you alright?"
"oh, uh OK."
welp there's that. he said he's a cat, but that's not what we're really focusing right now.
Magolor goes to the kitchen and opens the top cabinet in the left, packets of cocoa were at the bottom shelf, he grabbed them and got a mug to put hot water in. Mags turned on the sink and poured the hot water in there, then the packet, and stirred it with a spoon for a minute.
"MAGOLOR!"
Magolor almost dropped the mug of how shocked he was, so he rushed to the room where Taranza was at.
when he got there...
Taranza was just scared, since he didn't really like the dark or the sounds from outside.
"Taranza! you scared me, I thought something bad happened, you need to tone it down." he sets down the mug by Taranza.
"sorry... I don't like being left alone, I didn't mean to s-scare you." Taranza feels bad, he felt guilty, and Magolor could see him starting to cry.
"hey please don't cry! I always care for you, that's why I came over to check if you were OK. I'm sorry that I kinda yelled at you." he hugs Taranza to calm him down, then he hugs back Magolor.
"it's just really hard being alone, I'm still not used to sectonia being gone... s-she was special."
"she is special, and you know she loves you alot, a mountain load of it, so does everyone. she is here."
Magolor puts his hand on Taranza's chest to indicate where sectoniais, and since Taranza didn't see that coming, he immediately blushed.
"ah, thanks... I really needed that Magolor, now I know that you understand. I really mean it!"
...Magolor didn't take off Taranza's chest, Ranz was warm and small.
"um, your hand is still on me."
"OH, my mistake..." Magolor lifts his hand off of him, and pretends it never happened.
"right, here's your hot chocolate."
"thanks!" Taranza nicely takes the mug and drinks it, and tells Magolor it tastes good.
later, Magolor had his soup, and Taranza was done with his hot chocolate. Magolor and Taranza didn't know what time it was, so they admitted it was somewhere 9 or 10 PM
it was still a blizzard outside, but Taranza was tough with Magolor, and wasn't scared of it.
"hey, Magolor are we gonna sleep here or on the bed?"
Taranza liked the bed, and Magolor liked the beanbags, but Taranza knew that his friend liked the beanbags (since he kept seeing Magolor fall asleep on them instead of beds.)
"I like the bed, but I also like the beanbags more-"
"I'll sleep on the beanbags Magolor." Taranza literally didn't even hesitate, but Mags just went with it and grabed the blankets from the bed for warmth.
they push their beanbags together and put the big blanket over them, then Magolor's eyelids started getting heavy, until he felt Taranza's hands hug him.
two wizards in a guest bedroom laying on beanbags while there's a snowstorm, and one of them is having a gay panic. Magolor's heart is racing, Taranza is hugging him while sleeping. but tried to ignore it so then he would go to sleep, soon Magolor dozed off.
...
it's morning
Taranza was the first one to wake up, and saw Magolor's face by his. he quickly moved away and blood quickly came to his face.
but Taranza looked at Magolor's face one more time, it was really cute. he was laying there all tired and calm. when Taranza was getting ready to go outside, the door opened with snow falling on him, THAT woke him up.
Magolor woke up, Taranza was not there with him, so he went around the Lor to find him. only to see Taranza covered in snow
Magolor laughs with tears coming out of his eyes, Taranza looked like a powered donut.
"hey it's not funny!"
"ha... OK fine that was a little mean, pft."
"I heard that"
"alright I'll help you brush it off." Magolor brushes the snow off of Taranza's hair and cloak. that really made Taranza flustered.
"I-I think I can do it myself Mags..." Magolor wipes some snow off of Taranza's face, Magolor quickly looked away by the eye contact that they did.
soon they got ready for the day, and had pancakes for breakfast. Magolor gripped on the handle and drove the Lor all the way up to Royal Road in Floralia. Taranza was in the back watching Magolor's cool driving skills, but shakes his head and starts walking out the door.
"it was a great day yesterday, talking and having hot chocolate was the best! thank you alot Magolor, it was nice hanging out with you."
"glad you had fun! if you're having a hard time, you can ask for help, including me. well see you soon!"
"bye Magolor!"
the Lor flies off, Taranza was on the Dreamstalk's leaf by the Royal Road, and closed his eyes.
"someday Magolor, someday..."
Taranza quickly got to his castle before freezing

i don't know a single shit about Kirby but your AU is taking over My head
Well.
If you don't mind, allow me to introduce to you a small segment of Kirby Lore that is vital to the Shadowpuppet Kirby AU. Even if you aren't interested in reading all of this, this still serves as a nice record for myself anyways, haha.
The Foundations:
The AU's core foundations are based off of three mainline games. 'Kirby and the Amazing Mirror', 'Kirby: Squeak Squad/Mouse Attack', and 'Kirby: Triple Deluxe'.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the most part, there are three characters that are important to the AU from these three games. Daroach (Kirby: Squeak Squad/Mouse Attack), as well as Taranza and Queen Sectonia from (Kirby: Triple Deluxe). For the most part, the lore you need to understand focuses around Taranza and Queen Sectonia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Kirby Lore - Squeak Squad/Mouse Attack
So like, Daroach's lore isn't exactly important to this AU? He's basically a magician who is also a thief. He has a squad of mice who help him with his crimes and, that's pretty much it. In the game itself he served as an antagonist (and then got possessed by an otherworldly evil power) and in another game (Kirby: Mass Attack) he sort of acts as a helper to Kirby. Seemingly, 'a good guy now'. Still a thief though. Which, is kind of similar to a certain dramatic and edgy monkey character from LMK.
The Kirby Lore - Triple Deluxe:
Through various sources and pause screen menus, in Triple Deluxe we learn the story of Queen Sectonia and Taranza. Once upon a time, Sectonia was a relatively good queen of Floralia (a kingdom in the sky above Dreamland, sharing the same planet 'Popstar'). Taranza is one of her servants as well as a good friend.
One day, he gives her the Dimensional Mirror. Basically, a portal to the Mirror World, which is unfortunately corrupted (all of this is lore relating to Kirby and the Amazing Mirror). The corrupted mirror, surprise surprise, ends up corrupting the Queen and making her an evil dictator (yes, evil dictators are canon, and so is colonisation in the Kirby Universe. It's brutal). This brings us to the actual events of Kirby: Triple Deluxe.
Basically, what happens is that the citizens of Floralia use a magic beanstalk to 'summon the hero from Dreamland' in order to save themselves from Queen Sectonia's tyrannical rule. Knowing this, Taranza goes down to Dreamland and ends up getting the wrong guy- King Dedede (which may or may not be important if you care about how this links to the AU I've made). Now of course, our hero Kirby goes up the beam stalk (it's called the dream stalk) to save the kingdom and the king. Anyways, stuff happens, Kirby has to fight Taranza (who uses King Dedede as a puppet), and then Kirby defeats Taranza and goes to fight Queen Sectonia.
And it's at this point Taranza realises "Holy crap, the Queen is literally evil and not the same person I once served", and so near the end of the fight, he helps Kirby defeat her by giving him the Miracle Seed. The seed itself isn't important here, it's the fact that Taranza realises he was serving the wrong person and chooses to help Kirby.
So. Queen Sectonia dies. And the kingdom is saved.
The AU Itself
So, the Shadowpuppet X Kirby AU is basically, LMK characters filling the roles of Kirby characters inside the Kirby universe. Macaque takes the role of Daroach (I am also considering making him also mix with Meta Knight as a sort of hybrid crossover character? Filling two roles at once?), the Mayor is Taranza, and Lady Bone Demon is Queen Sectonia (it would also be fun to mention that MK would be Kirby, and Sun Wukong is- you guessed it, King Dedede).
So basically, now that you know the Kirby lore, you basically know how this AU is going to go down. Fill in the blanks yourselves if need be.
I would like to mention that Macaque getting the Dimensional Mirror for Mayor to give to LBD is NOT RELATED TO THE KIRBY GAMES WHATSOEVER. I don't think they ever made any confirmation that Daroach even knows Taranza or the Queen? So that bit is completely made up on my end, to provide context as to how Mayor could have possibly gotten the mirror and how the two even know each other in the first place (for, you know, Shadowpuppet content).
If you are still here, thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :D.

Well, I'm kinda bored so...
And just for fun, maybe reply or reblog with your favorite fanfic of your ship, and maybe even your favorite SAFE FOR WORK fanart of them if you have time!
For the record, I only really like or even care about the first three of these and kinda Taransusie, but I digress. Don't flame me for that. I already need to save my butt until I feel a little dangerous and put out the worst characters poll in a week.

"I honestly don't care for Queen Sectonia
I love Taranza a lot as a character, but I feel like Sectonia's story just didn't hit as hard as it should've."

completely random thing: how my AO OCs feel about nicknames/pet names/formalities/whatnot and what they prefer
Abigail: she's fine with pet names/nicknames and doesn't mind being called things like "Abbie"/"Abby," "Gail"/"Gale," etc. - in fact, she likes it, especially when it's coming from her friends. she doesn't pay much mind to formalities, though - she'll tell you that you don't have to refer to her by things like "Ms. Quill," "ma'am," "miss," etc. Aisha usually refers to her on a last-name basis, simply calling her "Quill" most of the time.
Aisha: both informally with everyone and formally with anyone outside of her crew, she just wants people to address her by first-name basis. formally with her crew, it's either "Captain Sectonia" or just "Captain". she'll have no qualms about scolding (or even threatening) you if you call her something like "ma'am" or "lass".
Aura: she's usually the one giving people pet names/nicknames. for herself, though, she really doesn't mind what she's called as long as it isn't offensive. she's also super casual, caring even less about formalities than Abigail does.
Amber: she's had a few people call her "Ambra" or "Ambre," both of which are simply her name in different real-world languages ("Ambra" is Italian and "Ambre" is French). she's fine with either one.
Zoey: as much as she doesn't necessarily like being called by pet names/nicknames, she won't scold you for using them. no idea what her pet names or nicknames would be, though.
Elvira: pet names are something she's still getting used to, though she doesn't mind being called "El" or "Ellie".

As much as I have Taranza and Susie being best friends, I don't have them mourning their losses the same way. In fact, in my interpretation, they handle grief differently despite their friendship.
While Taranza is more straightforward about mourning Sectonia, how Susie handles her father's death is a lot more complicated.
Susie does take Haltmann's death hard early on, but in general she doesn't outwardly grieve as much as Taranza does. She doesn't open up to as many people as he does, and keeps it to herself more by comparison. She also has an easier time letting go and accepting her loss than he does.
There's something to be said about how Taranza literally grew up with Joronia/Sectonia, and had her in his life up until she was warped by the mirror he gave her. I headcanon that they were childhood friends, and they were close up until the mirror accident. Taranza knows exactly what led to Sectonia's spiral, he understands that she was warped beyond her control, and that it was a grave mistake on his behalf for accidentally corrupting her with that mirror.
On the other hand, Susie really only truly had her dad when she was a child. She was separated from him for a long time after the Another Dimension accident, and then she comes back to what's effectively a shell of her dad's former self as he forgot about her by that point. She doesn't know how he became that way, because she wasn't there to witness how Star Dream erased his memories of her.
She has no idea that he was trying to make Star Dream get her back. For all she knows, he could've just willingly moved on from her, and that's enough to make her wonder if it was intentional for him to forget about her. And it's led to her resenting him.
Susie has very complicated feelings about her dad in my headcanons. The thing is, she does care about him, but she also really resents him because she was offended by him forgetting about her, and she feels a strong sense of disillusionment with him in general. She certainly doesn't love him as much as Taranza loves Sectonia, and honestly I don't blame her. I think it's understandable, considering everything that happened between her and Haltmann.
This isn't to say she doesn't mourn Haltmann at all. She absolutely does mourn him, especially early on. As much as she resents him, she really did want him back, and she really wanted to find out what led to his memories being erased. That's why she aggressively stole Star Dream's controller from him in an effort to force him to answer about what happened. She really didn't mean to get him killed, and it did in fact mess her up that she accidentally caused his death.
Kirby introduced Taranza and Susie to each other shortly after Planet Robobot when Susie was struggling with Haltmann's death. And quite frankly, that was the perfect timing for them to bond. That was a clever move on Kirby's behalf. He noticed many similarities between Taranza and Susie, and thought they could be friends because of that. He succeeded at making it happen, especially with the timing of when he did it.
Susie moves on from Haltmann's death quicker than Taranza moves on from Sectonia's death. But despite that, Susie still keeps Taranza around as one of her closest friends after how nice he's been to her. He's a big reason why she's been able to let go of her dad.
I have Susie and Francisca bonding over daddy issues, considering how I recently wrote about how I imagine Francisca (as well as Flamberge) having complicated feelings about Hyness after what happened during Star Allies. I also have Taranza and Zan Partizanne forming a close friendship because they overlap quite a bit in terms of how they feel about Sectonia and Hyness respectively.
Despite this, however, Taranza and Susie stay as each other's closest friends because of the timing that Kirby introduced them to each other. Although Zan is Taranza's second closest friend, and Francisca is Susie's second closest friend.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk on me exploring parallels that I envision between all these characters.
