This year I have a special request from my ally bestie of 10 years so I made one for the Ally flag too! I hope a certain game company won’t sue my ass
🌈 Requests are free and welcomed! If you want to see a pride flag not seen here, feel free to drop a message and I’ll make one and put it in the store! 🌈
I know selling on RB literally sucks so much ass, like they take a huge chunk of artist income and the site itself is full of stolen work and stuff… but since I live in Asia and most of my buyers are from the West that means shipping and manufacturing will suck even more ass than if I just put them on RB…. so if you still choose to support me I am eternally grateful :’)

Transmasculinity Throughout Time: Transgender Vikings
This is the burial of a very high ranking viking warrior from the 10th century. It contains high quality weaponry, two horses, and even a gaming set! The clothing found on the site suggests that this viking was a cavalry commander, and he was buried in a location that would be visible from the sea. Unlike burials for viking women (which existed!), there is no evidence that this warrior identified as a woman or had any of the grave items associated with women. There is nothing to suggest he was anyone rather than a high ranking male warrior. He was assumed unquestioningly to be male since his discovery, until his remains were tested in 2017 to reveal that he was “genetically female.” Quite possibly, he was a transgender man or transmasculine viking.
There was a great amount of confusions among archeologists after this finding, with many doubting the results of the study because they did not understand how he could have been given such a burial. In a 2019 follow up paper, it was argued that he could have been transgender, but we have no way of knowing now. He is referred to with she/her pronouns in many articles despite having been simply categorized as a male viking before being tested genetically. When using any modern pronouns for historical people who wouldn’t be able to advocate for themselves today, we tend to make assumptions: I use he/him pronouns for this viking and that has the same legitimacy as anyone who choses to use she/her, neither of us know surely how he would be referred to then - if it makes you uncomfortable for me to call him he, then maybe ask the same question of articles calling him she! Both archeology and written sources actually indicate that viking gender existed in complex ways that are not fully known to us now.

PAIRING: wally clark x fem!reader WARNINGS: mentions of death & panic attacks GENRE: angst SONG INSPIRATION: waves by dean lewis WORD COUNT: 1.1k
navigation | ask | wally clark masterlist
you never had many great experiences with making friends in the prior life never mind the former. for most of it you kept to yourself.
wally was one of the first people that you met after it happened. he welcomed you with open arms on one of the hardest days of your entire existence and you couldn't have been more appreciative of him.
you had accidentally died in 2019.
your death was quite tragic.
getting pushed through the sea of people that walked through the stadium, this was already way too much human contact then you signed up for, but how could you say no to the tall blonde that had invited you to the game.
eyes searching for any spare seats at the bottom of the bleachers, your hands digging deeper into the pockets of the oversized hoodie that flowed around your frame. already feeling completely out of place as an introvert, but even more so when you were one of the few not wearing the school colours.
keeping your head down as you proceeded up the metal steps, people accidentally shoulder barging you as you did.
finally getting to the top stair as a large gust of wind blew past you. grabbing a hold of the railing, your breath stuck in the back of your throat as you shuffled carefully over to the seats.
the sound of the loud pre-game shouts from the cheerleaders, to the jocks warming up, it all felt a bit too much. your mouth dry, throat pinching finding it hard to breath as you clawed at your chest, suddenly not able to regulate your breathing.
more people walking up the steps made the temporary flooring wobble. you walked further and further back to make room until it was too late and you were falling, very fast, almost too fast.
screaming out for any type of help, but it was too late. everything went black. no one heard you screams, drowned out by the crowd cheered as the game started. sadly your body was only discovered after the game had finished.
at first you spent a lot of your days in the same place that you died in, trying to shout out to investigators, to anyone. no one could hear you, this couldn't be happening.
giving up on yelling, you huffed as you plopped yourself down on the grass, rethinking everything that happened that night.
you would've still been alive if you hadn't agreed to go.
no you hadn't had any major life changing events in the near future but it was still way too early, you were only seventeen.
a couple of sleepless nights had gone by, you felt numb. empty.
angry at how everything was so perfectly peaceful. your parents were distraught, you watched how they were stood so apart, your dad looking sad and your mother looking angry.
you didn't want them to be upset. as much as you had your ups and downs with them and there still being so many things left unsaid, they were still your parents and seeing their relationship fall apart because of your death pained you. all you could do was sit back and watch.
you felt stupid for saying that you felt alone when you were alive because now you were well and truly alone here... wherever you were.
"beautiful day, isn't it?" a male voice from beside you spoke but you stayed silent, continuing to the pick at the edge of your nails assuming it was just one of the police officers talking to their men.
"nope? okay understandable."
glancing over to the person who sat beside you. eyebrows scrunched together, eyes narrowed. is he talking to me?
the brunette slid his sunglasses down his nose, squinting as the sun shone down bright onto the two of you.
"it's rude to stare ya know?" his eyes focused on yours, waiting for an answer but you were completely stunned.
"you can see me? no fucking way!" you quickly pushed yourself up from where you were sat, smiling giddily.
"wait..."
there was only one way to make sure that this was real, cautiously reaching your hand out and poked him with your index finger. you were met with his skin.
"ouch! that hurts you know." he exclaimed, pretending to be pain, pouting as he rubbed the same spot you touched.
"it is so good to finally speak to someone, i thought i was alone in this terrible place."
"i'm y/n! what's your name?" you held out your hand for him, he took it and instead of shaking it, he flipped yours over and placed a kiss upon it.
from then on you two were inseparable. whether it would be just eating together or watching living teenagers do stupid shit, laughing your asses off doing so.
sometimes you'd just lay smack bang in the centre of the football stadium, stargazing. it became a daily occurrence since ghosts didn't actually need sleep.
throughout the years you had a lot of time to spend together. that also meant that it gave you a lot of time to think, which wasn't necessarily a good thing.
the times you spent alone were torture, the silence getting too loud.
now you were sat in the school library, laying on top of one of the shelves, feet swaying back and forth before meeting with the wood. the clock ticked away and so did the sound of scribbling of studying students.
you had spent so much time in this place that it had become a some type of home to you, times like this when you'd reminisce on the memories wasn't always a great idea.
you worried a lot.
knowing that one day you're gonna pass over and that he's gonna pass over scared you. you never really thought about it. losing him all together? it felt impossible.
your chest felt tight, sitting up panicking. you hadn't been by yourself through a panic attack since your accident.
jumping off of the bookshelf, gasping for air. trying to remember the counting technique that wally had taught you, falling to your knees now hyperventilating when you heard echoed shouts from beside you.
it felt like you were underwater, your chest screaming for some sort of relief.
it wasn't until you felt two familiar large hands cup your cheeks, their thumbs wiping away the tears that had once streamed down your cheeks. tilting your face to be met with wally's, his beautiful brown eyes full of concern.
that's when you felt your chest untighten, breathing became much easier as you followed his deep, evened out breaths.
he pulled you into his lap, one hand wrapped securely around your waist as one caressed your hair. your ear pressed against his chest, hearing the rapid beat of his heart.
staying like that helped, him holding you helped.
squeezing your eyes tightly shut, trying to savour this moment. his shirt bunched firmly in your fist.

A non-exhaustive list of art, pieces of media, franchises, authors, and thinkers that I really need my fellow Cultsim/BoH/Secret Histories fans to get into and discuss with me and between themselves.
.
.
(WARNING A LOT OF THE FOLLOWING RECOMMENDATIONS COME WITH A LIST OF CONTENT WARNINGS AND ARE SOMETIMES CONNECTED TO CONTROVERSIAL ARTISTS AND PUBLIC PERSONS. THIS LIST IS NOT A ENDORSEMENT OF ANY PROBLEMATIC IDEALS OR STATEMENTS MADE BY ANYONE MENTIONED IN THIS LIST AND IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ANYONE WHO LOOKS INTO ANY OF THE MENTIONED WORKS OF ART DO THEIR DUE DILIGENCE AND THOROUGHLY CHECKS FOR DISTURBING / TRIGGERING CONTENT AT THEIR OWN VOLITION)
.
.
Film Recommendations:
1. Dario Argento's Three Mothers trilogy, especially Suspiria & and especially especially the 2019 remake of Suspiria. Very Dancer DLC-coded, very Sisterhood of the Triple Knot and Thunderskin.
2. The Magic Lantern films of Kenneth Anger, who was a practicing Thelmaite* for many years. Lantern Principal is obviously what comes to mind when you hear of the name of the series and the dreams that were mystical experiences that inspired and were expressed in art, in this case films is very much akin to stuff we see in Cultist Simulator.
(* As shown in later parts of this recommendation list I argue that the games of Weather Factory become even more interesting and artistically impactful if you learn more about late 19th and 20th century occultism and movements like Theosophy and Thelma.)
3. Hereditary and Midsommar are obvious recommendations but even more so I would recommend the original 1970s The Wicker Man. Folk Horror in general is a great source of what the arts of The Bosk would look like in real life. They were definitely worshiping The Low Red Sun on Summer Isle.
4. A Dark Song, a 2016 horror film that actually revolves around the performance of a very famous and important real life occult ritual. I think a lot of the visual imagery in that film can give some inspiration for the kind of Rites our player character in Cultist Simulator is performing.
5. The Lair of The White Worm is a movie loosely based on a Bram Stoker story and is also very much a Gods of Stone overthrown by forces associated with humans raised to Divinity and the powers of the Sun and Apollonian principles type of story. Plus the whole Worm/Wyrms thing going on. I also recommend it because it's one of the more light-hearted and comedic entries on this list and I want some variation in tone. Also its psychedelic visuals compliment a lot of the surrealist elements that are tied to things like the Moth Principal.
6. Black Swan isn't explicitly supernatural but it is very Dancer Coded.
7. The Hellraiser movies, but only the first second, fourth, and the reboot. Leviathan, being associated with pain and pleasure and having the name of a mythical sea monster is probably very similar to whatever the hell The Tide was before The Red Grail vored her. The Cenobites are Long with Grail, Knock, & Forge as their Principals.
8. Pan's Labyrinth, for the Woods and the Bounds appreciators. I also think there is something to be said about the fascist subtext that underlines much of the Edge Principle, especially in The Colonel that can be explored and appreciated in this film and its reckonings with the evils of Spanish fascism.
9. To compliment the recommendation for the Magic Lantern films, also check out the short film The Wormwood Star, you can find it easily on YouTube and it's another piece of art heavily influenced by Thelma and stars Marjorie Cameron who I will talk about more later in this list.
.
.
Game Recommendations:
1. Hollow Knight, it might as well be a story set in the era of the Carapace Cross. Sentient bugs, mighty Wyrms and dream gods with the powers of light but not necessarily moral goodness. Even the Void in Hollow Knight, and it's antagonism to The Radiance is very similar to The Nowhere and it's relationship with the established hierarchies in The Mansus.
2. The Silent Hill games, particularly the entries that revolve around The Order; like 1,3, Origins, and Homecoming. Dream worlds, Sun worship, the Dark Feminine and female psychics/mediums with deep associations with blood, birth and menstruation. Valtiel is totally a Name. Even the fog and mist of Silent Hill is giving The Bounds and it's Forge smoke meets Woods darkness type energy.
3. Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines, it's basically playing a Grail Long.
4. The tabletop games Geist: The Sin Eaters and Wraith: The Oblivion line up really well with the Ghoul / Medium DLC. *
(basically most if not all of the World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness tabletop games contain some themes, elements, or bits of World building that should appeal to anyone interested in the games created by Weather Factory)
5. The video games created by Korean studio Project Moon. Lobotomy Corporation has a lot of timers and simulation elements that have many similarities to those found in Cultist Simulator, and as the title implies Liberty of Runia takes place literally in a paranatural library just like Book of Hours even though the game play between the two is very different.
6. Fallen London and it's related media. The reasons why should go without saying. The controversies around AK aside, Echo Bazaar and Secret Histories are blood siblings and I desire more intersection and interaction between the respective fandoms.
7. The Bayonetta games have a surprising amount of real mythological and occult influence in their world building. The Solar Lumens juxtaposed with the Lunar Umbrans definitely has some resonance with Church of The Unconquered Sun and their on again, off again antagonism and allyship with The Sisterhood of The Triple Knot. The Apollonian natured House of the Sun contrasted with the Dionysian Woods & House of the Moo, and the Nowhere being connected to all three but being distinct; is not all together that different from the division of the Bayonetta universe into Inferno, Paradiso, the human world and Purgatorio between all of them.
8. The Shadow Hearts series of JRPGs are a Gothic, urban fantasy, historical fantasy, lovecraftian adventures around late 19th / early 20th century Europe and Asia. It has a lot of comedic elements and its world building and cosmology are not all that similar to the ones in Weather Factory games (barring their shared history as being inspired by Lovecraft). But if you want Lovecraft in video game form without the racism associated with his writings and you found Cultsim/BoH to fill that niche, then I recommend you give these games a try as well.
9. Secret World Legends, a functionally dead MMO but still incredibly fun to play and I think one of the best examples of urban fantasy / soft Lovecraft or post lovecraftian media in existence. Absolutely fantastic & memorable fully voiced NPCs and characters, really intriguing and rich world building and takes on mythology and folklore. Also given that you play as a quasi immortal with a deep association with bees and an ancient techno-organic goddess you're basically a Long.
10. To compliment the Lobotomy Corporation recommendation and the later SCP mention I think it's only natural that I also recommend the urban fantasy games of remedy entertainment like Alan Wake 1 & 2 and Control. Artists channeling / being used by Eldritch Forces in other dimensions and government institutions related to keeping a control on the supernatural are the most obvious similarities to stuff in WF games.
.
.
Visual Artists:
1. Francisco Goya, especially his Black Paintings, his insights into the witchcraft and folkloric traditions of the Basque region and elsewhere in the Iberian peninsula should be very appealing to fans of The Twins and The Thunderskin. Plus all of the Catholic imagery brings to mind The Mother of Ants.
2. Austin Osman Spare, Rosaleen Norton, and Marjorie Cameron. All three of these people were heavily influential occultists and illustrators/painters so their work is definitely a great representative example of the kind of occult art that you are making when you Paint in Cultsim.
3. Salvador Dali is also a relatively obvious, but I think very appropriate all the same recommendation. Surrealism is by and large the big big tonal influence on Secret Histories in my opinion. He also did a tarot deck so that brings in the Lucid Tarot connection
4.Erté, absolutely the kind of art and fashion you would find in Cultist Simulator's 1920's. Art Deco for days but also his works in particular show a more flowy and organic influence that we would more stereotypically associate with the Art Nouveau of decades prior.
.
.
Comic Books:
1. Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing and Grant Morrison's run on Animal Man. DC's Red and Green (plus all the other elemental forces) are a deeply underappreciated and underexplored element of the setting, and I think they have a lot of similarities with the Principles we find in Secret Histories.
2. Related to the above, Alan Moore's Promethea and Grant Morrison's The Invisibles for an exploration of 20th and 21st century occultism. Despite the two authors general distaste for each other, their works are often very complimentary.
3. The Hellboy franchise doesn't have a lot of one-to-one parallels with Cultsim & Co. but they draw from the same artistic influences of gothic fiction, weird fiction, mythology and folklore and the occult. So I feel very strongly that fans of one would and should find the other to be enjoyable. Both fandoms need to be more active on this hell site and though there are a handful of quality hidden gems of fanfiction for both franchises I desperately need more people to be writing & reading fan fiction for both. Plus I do strongly believe that Mike Mignola' s art style would really excel at illustrating characters and settings from Secret Histories. His non Hellboy work is also recommended especially the works that fall under his Outervers setting, like Baltimore and Joe Golem.
4. Although I will admit that I am not up to date on it, and that there has been a considerable amount of discourse around the quality of its storytelling (especially within the past few years) I would recommend the webcomic Gunnerkrigg Court to fellow Cultsim fans. Alchemic imagery, interesting reinterpretations of folklore and a setting and tone that is quintessential British urban fantasy / science fiction, Gunnerkrigg is in my opinion a work that has a lot of appeal for fans of WF's games and stories.
5. Lackadaisy Cats is an awesome Webcomic and animated web series. 1920s/ 30s gangsters and bootleggers in the form of anthropomorphic cats! And absolutely beautiful Art Deco illustrations! What's not to love.........
.
.
Anime & Manga:
1. Any of the anime directed by Ryūtarō Nakamura especially Serial Experiments Lain and Ghost Hound(this one is seriously underrated in my opinion.) Surrealism is the name of the game as I've said earlier.
2. Le Chevalier D'Eon, both it's manga and anime even though the two are very totally different and have divergent takes on a similar premise. Historical fiction that reinterprets 18th century historical events through an occult lens is so very very Secret Histories. Plus both works have interesting explorations of gender and the nature thereof. It helps that as far as we know the French monarchy's Secret Histories equivalent are associated with the Hours, my personal headcanon is that Louis XIV was Lantern Principal aligned, and Louie XVI had Knock as his Principal. Also the manga version of the story has a lot of its magic system based around the Tarot.
3. You can't recommend D'Eon without recommending it's biggest inspiration (apart from Rose of Versailles of course) and that would be Revolutionary Girl Utena. Edge Dyads for days with that one. Utena and Anthy are totally The Twins. And the whole show and it's movie are full of surrealist pseudo occult imagery practically to the bursting.
4. Baccano! , a light novel / anime series that's about a bunch of immortal Mobsters in the 1920s and 30s. I mean that's basically The Exile DLC right there.
5. xxxHolic and Legal Drug / Drug & Drop, by CLAMP. A shop that grants wishes and a pharmacy that handles the paranormal are both the kind of businesses that I could see existing alongside Morland's, Oriflamme's Auction House & The Ecdysis Club. Plus both manga are hella gay and I will push my Weather Factory games are inherently Queer pieces of media agenda till the day I die.
.
.
Theater, Operas, Music and Albums:
1. Jimmy Page's unused soundtrack for Kenneth Anger's Lucifer Raising. Definition of Occult rock and role.
2. Kiki Rockwell, especially her two most recent albums Rituals on the Bank of a Familiar River, and Eldest Daughter of an Eldest Daughter.
3. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring might just be the closest we will ever get in real life to an occult ritual in the form of an entire ballet like we see in Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours. Definitely a skill that could fall under the Wisdoms of Birdsong and The Bosk.
4. On that note, Mozart's Die Zauberflöte is also full of Hermetic Elements, Lunar / Solar antagonism, mystical initiation and ritual deity impersonation. Mozart was a Freemason so the fanfic of him as a Heart Adapt practically writes itself.
.
.
Literally Fiction:
1. The webnovels Pact and Pale by wildbow. A magic system that revolves around incredibly hierarchical relationships between humans and mystical beings, where magic fundamentally requires discarding one's humanity and transforming into some kind of mystical being yourself is very similar to the Adapt to Long pipeline we follow in Cultist Simulator.
2. The Rivers of London series is one that I'm still familiarizing myself with but it's another example of wonderful British urban fantasy (that isn't the wizard books that shall not be named) The fact that the main characters of the series are magic police officers gives it a certain Suppression Bureau appeal.
.
.
Nonfiction- Philosophy and Occult works and Authors:
1. Georges Bataille!!!!!!!! If you only pick one thing from this list to investigate further let it be the philosophical works of this man. His theory of religion as it relates to concepts such as economy, sacrifice, and eroticism you literally completely change how you understand The Hours and The House Without Wall.
2. Aleister Crowley, and any of his students, especially Kenneth Grant. He really is the quintessential modern English occultist, whether or not AK and Lottie intended it, the DNA of his beliefs or those of his Golden Dawn contemporaries, or his students is all over Cultsim and BoH. The Red Grail is like, so blatantly Babalon it's kind of ridiculous.
3. The Book of English Magic by Phillip Carr- Gomm & Richard Heygate, is a good introductory source of information on the history of magical practice and occultism on the British isles.
4. Occult Paris by Tobias Churton is a fascinating insight into some of the mystical practices that were en vogue in Europe just a few decades prior to when Cultist Simulator takes place.
5. Atlas of Cursed Places by Oliver Le Carrer. I could totally see some of the places documented in this book as being locations you could send your Followers to in Cultsim.
6. Please read everything you can that is academically critical about Greek magical Papyri. There are tons of resources for reading translations and analysis of these documents that are some of the most foundational examples of what real historical magical belief and practice actually looked like.
.
.
Web Original Content, Podcasts, YouTube Channels and Tiktok Recommendations:
1. Greedy Peasant over on Instagram and tik tok does fascinating content related to Catholicism, medieval history and art, and other related topics. If you like all of the interesting reinterpretations of Christian religious iconography into sun worship that happens in Book of Hours I highly recommend his content.
2. The last few years have really seen an incredible ecosystem of academic scholarship on religion, mythology, occultism and esoteric philosophy develop on YouTube. Channels like Esoterica, Angela's Symposium, Let's Talk Religion, Religion for Breakfast, Jackson Crawford, The Modern Hermeticist, The Archaeology of Ancient Magic, and others are just overflowing gold mines of accessible and easily digestible but still academically critical and pseudoscience and conspiracy theory free information about mysticism historical occultism and esoteric religion and mythology.
3. There are also a number of great YouTube channels that aren't academically critical but are run by actual practicing witches and occultists and they offer fascinating and interesting insights into these same topics but from a lived more personal perspective which is just as important I think to learn about as the academically critical sources. Great channels include Benbell Wen, Maevius Lynn, Marco Visconti, & Nordic Animism.
4. In terms of fictional internet media, SCP is so broad that there's a lot of stuff that is completely different in appeal from what is enjoyable about Secret Histories, but there's also so much overlap. I need crossover fanfics and fan art more than air!!!!!
5. Lastly this is a fiction podcast so it's a little incongruous with the other nearby recommendations but, I cannot stress enough......... The Mangus Archives and Magnus Protocol!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are a lot of key differences between those two podcasts and Weather Factory games, but there are so many similarities that I have to write an entire three other posts about how similar the settings are and how I want to write a crossover/ fusion fic. I've seen like, one or two pieces of fan art and fanfiction that was related to both series but in my humble opinion it's not nearly enough. I really really really really really need Cultsim fans to talk more about Magnus and I need Magnus listeners to play these games soooooooo badly!!!!!!!!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
Well that mostly concludes this piece of propaganda for the time being, will probably make another post with further additions in the not so distant future. Feel free to reblog this with any other pieces of media that you think would also be appealing to fans of Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours.

Game Shakers / Ch. 03
from the river to the sea, palestine will be free 🇵🇸 READ: this account stands with palestine, and so— i require everyone who interacts to educate themselves, and support/donate. READ THESE; 1 and 2, HELP HERE, BOYCOTT. silence is complicity, do not scroll past this.
Pairing: Eminem x OFC!
Warning(s): Cursing, Drug Abuse, Racial Discrimination, Sexual Assault, more may be on the way as the story progresses
Summary: 2000s is quite the highlight between the fashion and rise of pop culture. Seemingly the new faces of shock value, rapper Marshall Mathers and rockstar King Woods finds a common ground amongst the unnecessary bullshit.
2019
“When I say that Marshall is a charmin’ son’f a bitch, I fucking mean it,” King laughs, shaking her head.
“Why is that?”
“So, after the VMAs, there was an after party, right?” She rhetorically asks. “I hate those damn things with my soul, but we had to stick it out until we were allowed to go home.”
A huge smile begins to grow across her face, “Matteo had made a deal with me that day and it was, if I could stay there for like… half an hour, I could leave early and Marshall walks into the party…”
1999
Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, N*SYNC, and whoever the fuck else crowded surrounded the venue on top of the heaping bodies of their plus ones and management teams, maybe even sneaky fan and paparazzi here and there.
Sitting in a section on the 2nd, per King’s request, the sixtet drank and made jokes about… well, they made not so nice jokes. They people watched from the balcony, amused at how such televised royalties could act so trashy under the influence. It was so stupid. This entire shit-tick was stupid.
Nursing her beer, she added the occasional hums into the conversation as her friends actively talked. “Fuck, work,” Matteo smiled, “we can talk about it later. Iris, Tink, how’s your lovers?”
The two laughed, shaking their heads at the mocking sounds of kissing. Tink spoke first, “Carson’s doing fine. I’m sure he lost his mind when we won our awards and performed. He’s like our #1 fan, he just needs the fucking styrofoam finger.”
They laughed, picturing the 6’7” sized man jumping with that damn finger on his hand - that is, if there was one big enough for his hands. Irish then chimed in, “Terrance is good, too. We’ve been hustling about, getting our shit in order for the wedding.”
“Speaking of which,” Maliyah trailed, “did you guys speak on making your relationship public or keeping it private?” Iris nodded, “we want to go public, but we’re thinking about doing it after the wedding.”
Everyone nodded before continuing. King glanced over the balcony to meet a pair of cerulean eyes staring up at her. Paired with such beautiful features was bleach blond hair and slightly chapped lips that sat in a natural pout. A small smile stretched across her face and before she could stop herself, she waved him up.
With a small smile of his own, he sent a nod her way and made his way to the stairs with Dre and Proof following behind. He weaved around the crowd, never leaving her own. Just footsteps away from her table, he nearly started speed walking to sit beside her.
“Uh, hey,” he greeted softly, chubby cheeks pulled back to reveal a small smile and hidden dimple.
Charmed, King leaned against the booth, smiling. “Howdy,” she laughed, sipping her drink. "How'd you like your first award show?" He shrugs, eyes bouncing around the venue to avoid her dark ones.
"It's a'ight," he answered, "it's crowded and the whole carpet thing is stupid as hell." King snorted, "you ain't say nothin' but a word. At our first event, journalists were calling me a bitch all because I couldn't be bothered to play stupid."
The two shared a laugh. Marshall fumbled with a loose thread on his button up, debating on his next move when he suddenly blurted: "Just like how that reporter tried to get you slandering my name, huh?"
Instantly, the two perk up, waiting for the other to make their move. King made her's first, setting her drink down with a sigh. "I'm guessing she then snitched away? If there's one thing not alot are warned when signing their life away, these industry folks are snakes."
"From your colleagues in the business down to the reporters," she continued, shaking her head, "you never know who's willing to switch up at the drop of dime."
He added on, "but you and the others didn't. Y'all could've written me off as every name in the headlines and walked off, stirring shit just to stir shit, but you didn't. Why?"
King bit her lip, memories of her own encounters with the phonies of Hollywood came flooding in. "I've had my fair share of sellouts and backstabbers. I mean, look at the genre I mainly partake in... it's a field of white men projecting their lies and deceit onto us because we're women who aren't afraid to strum a guitar."
"I 'ppreciate it," he hummed, "truly. Speaking of you strummin' a guitar, how'd you even get into all of this anyways? Not to sound like those who wish on my downfall, but wouldn't rock be considered a 'white genre'?" His fingers quoted around the ridiculous phrase.
King smirked, "not really. the genre was created off of blues and jazz, much like country. Hearing us on the radio was far better than Chuck Berry or Little Richard on stage all because they were black and then Elvis came along. Now, flash forward to right now."
Marshall nodded, smirking, "don't tell me you're a country girl. I could handle the whole rock look, you look fine as hell, but country? Like, yeehaw? Oh, nah." King fell into a guffaw, her head falling back against the booth as he watched with satisfaction.
"You're goofy as hell, man," she wiped her eyes. "First off, your yeehaw was off. Secondly, so what if I'm a country girl? Don't tell me that a little accen' can easily push ye' away."
He bit his lip, eyeing her down with a charming side grin. "Mhm," he nodded, "never mind." She raised an eyebrow, "wha'chu mean? I already got'chu thinkin', huh?" She laughed, "regardless, I'm not a country girl, I was raised more in the city than the countryside unlike my parents."
"What'a'bout you? I know, fo'so you're a city boy," she giggled. Marshall playfully smacked his lips, "shut up. I'm from, uh, Detroit. I lived in the trailer park, mostly." King nods, listening closely.
He shrugged, "I mean, I have family in the south. They're from Missouri, I've lived back and forth, but spent most of my time in Detroit." She raised an eyebrow, leaning back, "Missouri roots? I've never been with a Missouri boy before."
"Oh?" Marshall playfully leaned back, his hand laying flat on his heart. "So, I'm takin' you want'a piece of me?" King snickered, bitting the inside of her cheek as a desperate measure to hide her smile. "Never said that. You're just new to me."
He raised an eyebrow now, "oh, so white boys being nice to you is new? Tell me more." King silently side-eyes the younger man, cheesing. Breaking their staredown, Matteo nodded his head at King with a soft smile. "30 minutes is up, King, you can head for the hotel, if you want to."
She nodded, sending him a silent thanks. "What does that mean?" Marshall asked. "Is that an escape plan or somethin'?" She laughed, "yeah. Somethin' like that. Matteo and I usually agree that I stick around this bullshit for 30 minutes and then I can head home."
"You're really not a fan of these things, are you?" He acknowledged her truth. She shaked her head, "if I could hate people, I would. If you want, we can hang out somewhere else. I don't have to go back to the hotel."
Marshall sent a small smile her way, "I'm not gonna bother you or anything like that?" King smiled back, "you couldn't, even if you tried." He nodded, "lead the way, then. I'm not picky." The two leave, sending quick waves while ignoring the joking catcalls.
He couldn't believe it, women was a sore topic for him as he tended to lay all the trauma from his mother and the inherited toxicity of Kim onto every other woman in the world, but King gifted him a different perspective. There was an obvious edge to her, it was like some puzzled code, but she didn't allow it to live life through her.
2019
"I don't publicly speak on much when it comes to King and I, and for a reason," Marshall sighs, speaking with every thought. "But, that night was probably the best night of my life back then."
"Since your overdose, you've stated before that there's a number of things from the past you just can't remember. Would say that it's the same for all of your memories with King?"
Marshall nods, "every moment I had with her in the start, I remember. From our good moments to our bad ones, I can think of them and smile. That may be because I always associated her with happiness and relief, or uh, a sense of comfort. I've never had that as a child and I never felt that with Kim."
"Would you say that night, is the night that you fell in love with her?'
"Surprisingly," he pauses, "no. No, that wasn't the night that I fell in love with her."

THE HOT MEDIEVAL & FANTASY MEN MELEE
FIRST ROUND: 74th Tilt (FINAL TILT OF THIS ROUND)
Westley, The Princess Bride (1987) VS. Sir Lancelot, Lancelot du Lac (1974)
Propaganda
Westley, The Princess Bride (1987) Portrayed by: Cary Elwes Defeated Opponents: - Forge Fitzwilliam [Hugh Grant], Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)
“He's the smartest and strongest guy in the whole movie, and he can do everything. But he's not just a champion, he's 100% devoted to the woman he loves. When he stares at Buttercup with the most outrageous blue heart eyes and murmurs "as you wish" I melt. And his accent is hot as hell.”
Sir Lancelot, Lancelot du Lac (1974) Portrayed by: Luc Simon Defeated Opponents: - Tormund Giantsbane [Kristofer Hivju], Game of Thrones (2011-2019)
“If I was Guinevere, I'd have an affair with this Lancelot!”
Additional Propaganda Under the Cut
Additional Propaganda
For Westley:
“When I first watched TV Princess Bride, at a middle school sleepover, we paused on Farmboy"s face, and left it there as we fell asleep. Have had an enormous crush on Westley ever since.”
“Show me an xennial woman who did not have at least a LITTLE bit of a crush on "eyes like the sea before a storm" Westley and I will show you a liar (and I say this as someone who grew up to realize that she had an even bigger crush on Buttercup, so.)”
“The way he says "As You Wish' had baby-me's heart all a-flutter before I even knew what that meant. And honestly the way he says every other line invokes the same mooneyes and sigh. He lives for True Love, he knows it is the most noble thing in the world! His speech to Humperdink is the greatest thing ever. What I mean to say is I braved the ROUSes for a glance at this man!”
“TRUE LOVE. Poisoner, duellist, cunning and fast and full of tricks and doing it all to save the girl he hasn't seen for years but still loves more than life itself what's not to love?? (As you wish.)”

Some personal context as a post-bump, as we close in on 2 days remaining.
Sea of Stars - I grew up on 4th/5th gen RPGs. This game looks like catnip for that, so I’m excited for it. Especially since it’s a modern game, with modern QoL in mind.
RE4:R: - I played RE1 when it came out (I was 12) and it scared the shit out of me. As an adult, I’ve played RE7, Village and RE2:R, all of which I quite enjoyed. I know 4 is a fan favorite and from what I gather they did it justice, so I’m intrigued.
TotK - I am honestly ashamed I haven’t played this yet, since I’ve played all the non-handheld Zelda’s since Link to the Past. (And some of the handheld ones—Link’s Awakening was actually my first). But if I’m being honest, I found BotW a little tedious when I first played it. I am very intrigued by the whole machine-building thing, though, and I feel like centralizing that will help me approach the game in the spirit it’s intended. Also, I hear the story of this one is better.
Alan Wake Remastered - I’ve played Control and enjoyed it, although I don’t feel I really absorbed all the story and lore. So I’ve been curious about this for a long time. It’s the kind of thing that’s very much up my alley and it gets talked about in glowing terms a lot.
Cyberpunk 2077 - So, I hear it’s playable now, which is a plus. Because I’ve been curious about the concept. Cyberpunk open world shit? Fuck me up with that, please. And from what I gather, while the main story—Keanu aside—is kind of mid, it’s a pretty lived-in world with a lot of cool shit in the side-missions and details and I love that.
Tactics Ogre - so FFT is a game that was HUGELY influential on my childhood and remains one of my all time favorites. (As in, this is the only thing I have ever written fanfiction for in my entire life.*) And you know what, Ogre Battle 64, while not as impactful, still also made an impression. Yet despite that, I have not played this and I feel remiss.
(*It was about the few days between the time Delita kidnaps Ovelia from Orbonne and the time Ramza catches up with them. Imagining what they might have talked about, given the complexity of their relationship to follow.)
Ghost of Tsushima - it looks awesome. And I love Sekiro, but sometimes I don’t feel like getting smashed into dust over and over, y’know?
Nier - this just feels like my kinda art, y’know? Willfully obtuse, batshit insane, deeply philosophical, yadda yadda. I expect to feel about it as a game a lot like how I felt about Automata, which is on the positive side of conflicted, but I still want to experience it and see what surprises it has up its sleeve.
Lies of P - I haven’t looked at the results but, just from having been on Tumblr a long time now, I have a feeling about this one. But that’s fine—I’m a SoulsNerd and this sounds like a good one. The demo was pretty satisfying. And, as I’ve said, the Kingdom Hearts-like WTFery of the concept is intriguing.
Alright. I finished the Ryujin and Rangers questlines in Starfield. So there’re a few things to clean up and finish exploring, then it’ll be time to wrap up the main story. Which means I’m trying to decide what to play next.
So, what do y’all think? It’s gonna be one of these, cos this is what I have on deck, listed in no particular order. All of them are new to me and, in the case of remakes/remasters, I have never played any of the originals either.
I am going to play all of them eventually, but last time I did this, y’all were right about Disco Elysium, so okay. I put my fate in your hands.

𝐈 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔.
𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐱 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫.
It was only a week into January and you and the Manchester United team were in Malta for a few days as you had a game against Birkirkara.
Yesterday you won 0-10 and this afternoon the team were going on a boat trip to relax. Everyone boarded the boat, you were sat with your girlfriend and teammate, Ona Batlle.
You met Ona when you both played for the Barcelona B team until 2017 when you signed with the senior squad and Ona moved to Madrid, then to Levante.
Both of you were reunited at international camps that’s where you caught feelings for each other but more recently when you signed for Manchester United in 2019 and she in 2020.
“Are you okay guapa?"She spoke as you sat outside sunning yourself in just a sports bra and some Man U training shorts.
𝘎𝘶𝘢𝘱𝘢.
It was Ona’s nickname for you, she called you it ever since you and her went out for dinner one night in the Barcelona sun.
“Yeah are you?” You answered perching your sunglasses on the end of your nose.
“I am now.” She smiled, shuffling a little closer to you,“Because i’m with you mi corazón."
“Onita.” You spoke into her neck.
You or Ona hadn’t announced your relationship to the public yet and you didn’t want to yet. So you stayed clear of peoples phones, and tried to not act affectionate in the media however, there has been some speculation with fans and the press.
Lucía came bounding over to ask if we were coming in the sea, “Yeah we’ll come now.”
Millie was getting ready to film you and the girls jumping off the edge of the boat, “Are you ready, okay one, two, three go!”
All five girls dived into the ocean and it was so warm. Once Ona saw that Millie stopped recording she swam over to you putting her arms around your neck, “Oh hello you.”
“Hello baby.” She smiled, kissing your cheek.
“Not there, here.” You kissed her deeply on the lips.
Ona kissed you back, her lips were sweet but a little bit salty from the salt water, “Onita.”
“Yes baby.” She mumbled pulling away from your lips.
“Be careful.”
“Always.” Ona hummed into your neck, not really paying attention to what was around her.
You and your girlfriend just swam around in the water for a while before you decided to get out as your fingers were getting wrinkly, “Give me a hand please.”
You smiled down at your girlfriend, hauling her back onto the boat. Your phone seemed to have blown up from the time you were sunbathing to being in the water, “Joder!”
“What? Ona looked over at you with a towel around her shoulders.
“Have you seen this?” You shoved your phone in her face.
“Madre mía!" Her mouth hung open.
It was a cropped video zoomed in on you and Ona kissing in the sea. You read through the comments to try and find out where the video originated from.
It was Millie’s instagram story.
𝘍𝘶𝘤𝘬. You thought that Millie had stopped recording, “Mierda, i told you to be careful!”
“Lo siento bebé, i really am.” Ona looked at you with doe eyes.
“It’s okay it’s not your fault.” You sighed rubbing the side of her face.
“I mean we can go public if you want, put the rumours to rest.” Your girlfriend placed her hands on your shoulders.
“Only if your ready amor."
Ona nodded, you said to her that you would post something when you got back to the hotel for the evening.

“Nothing bad so far.” Ona spoke as she put her shoes on.
“No but that’s good right.” You looked down at your petite girlfriend.
“Yes they love you no matter what but i love you more.” She smiled as you left your hotel room.
You went out for dinner in the evening at a restaurant by the sea, drinking pints of beer watching the sunset, “I must say you look beautiful.”
“Ona is that the alcohol talking?”
“No you do bebé." A smile appeared on her lips.
“Gracias, you do too.” You replied drinking the last of your second pint.
“Let’s go for a walk on the beach.” Ona suggested, you nodding in return.
You took your sandals off as did Ona, holding them in your left hand and holding Ona’s hand in your right. You two walked on the wet sand so when the tide came in it washed over your feet, “Te amo."
"Te amo mucho." Ona kissed you with passion.
