Well, what does being back feel like?
I've been into SCP back in 2017 when it was thriving, now it has been 7 years since then and I am aware that communities change, not always for the better. I feel nostalgic looking at what was and wish that it would come back even though it's impossible. I am sure many feel the same, looking at the blogs which have been inactive for 2-6 years.
What happened to SCP fandom feels disheartening to me. The site has always been a creative playground with a setting that let people run rampant with ideas, but nowadays this unfortunately has turned into a case of using this freedom for grounds of power gaming. Rather than appreciate the variety of things an SCP could be which was never limited to object, human or animal, many have decided to create as powerful of a Apollyon as they could to pit it into the fight against 001, 073 or 076.
We had SO many creative things in here. We had toasters that made you think you're a toaster, rings which toughened you up for cost of feeling sleepy and fatigued, indestructible lizards, building bears, encyclopedias that gave you diseases, actual viruses, doors to other dimensions, devices that couldn't be explained by engineers, phenomenon and places that were engraved in our minds... why waste such potential? ://
For those who don't know, I am a roleplayer since 2019. It's my hobby which started back on amino, though nowadays I roleplay on discord server. And allow me to tell you that a lot of "SCP" servers have become 1% SCP and 99% multifandom 💀. I don't have anything against multifandom RPs, neither do I have a thing against crossovers, however when an SCP themed server has more multifandom stuff than it does SCP stuff, then my brother that's not an SCP server no more.
I overall dislike that people take SCP's freedom and use it against it. The old fandom feels scarce nowadays. I am genuinely glad that I've experienced this fandom at the time I did, I am also grateful for the people who still come back to it and to youtubers like volgun who don't cease to love it and introduce it to new generations, carrying its legacy. And I'm glad whenever I see people who create genuinely creative SCP OCs.
I guess this rant can be summed up to me disliking SCP "God OCs" and being salty that roblox SCP games are more SCP themed than discord SCP servers lmao
Eitherway I do know there are old school enjoyers out here and I see and appreciate you. I do hope I can make or maybe join an actual SCP discord server in the future because I genuinely crave roleplaying as 035 and roleplaying is like water for me. I drink it, breathe it, love it /J
For now rant is over. Feel free to share your thoughts too and see you guys around <3

I'm just gonna list SCPs from each series you may or may not have read
SCP-008-J - Geoff: A 23 year old man named Geoff who keeps finding his way into Foundation facilities completely by accident and in such a manner that the Foundation isn't actually sure if he's anomalous or not
SCP-7474-EX - Not All Aliens Are Anomalies: An alien argues that they should not be in containment because their technology is explicable within the standard model of physics
The Great Hippo's SCP-001 Proposal (feat. PeppersGhost) - A Good Boy: The Foundation builds a computer which becomes SCP-001 by neutralising every other SCP in containment
SCP-423 - Self-Inserting-Character: A fictional character named Fred who can jump between any narrative works placed near each other and then inserts himself into the story as a minor character
SCP-1006 - Spider Proletariat: A community of communist spiders living in a national park under their own rudimentary Marxist governmet
SCP-2137 - The Forensic Ghost of Tupac Shakur: A copy of Me Against the World (which may or may not be possessed by his ghost) which when played reveals the locations of murderers connected to cold cases, with the additional implication that Tupac was a higher being who incarnated as a human to take a break from warring against the Scarlet King
SCP-2557, A Holding of Envelope Logistics®: An SCP slot the Foundation can no longer use because the concept of SCP-2557 as a set of Special Containment Procedures in the Foundation Database was purchased in 2011 by a company which invests in abstract concepts, with the whole page now being an ad for said company
SCP-2719 - Inside: A "variable abstract-metaphysical construct pointer" which can either designate a concept as inside or make a concept go inside
SCP-3006 - Twice The Number One: A YouTube video titled "we are number one except every time you play it there are twice as many robbie rottens but the room is the same size[nsfw]" whose effects spread to every other video linked in the same thread as it whenever anyone posts a link
SCP-3309 - Where We Go When We Fade, Fade Away: The Foundation fills SCP documents with grammatical errors to trigger the SCP Wiki's quality control measures, leading to the now poorly written anomaly being erased from existence
SCP-4413 - The End of Something Really Excellent: Homestuck fans use metafictional rituals to enter the narrative of Homestuck triggering a pataphysical war over control of the narrative which spreads to Homestuck fanfiction and sees many Homestuck characters escape to baseline reality
SCP-4485 - Such Black Light: The Church of the Broken God collaborates with a post-modernist splinter sect of Are We Cool Yet? to destroy formal logic in the hopes that by doing so there will be no meaningful distinction between Cool and Uncool or Broken and Unbroken, so their god will be resurrected and AWCY? will attain a state of artistic perfection referred to as "Coolness"
SCP-4493 - Keep Pride Out of Corps: A phenomenon caused by Gamers Against Weed which edits Pride Month themed social media posts and ads by organisations to highlight the negative effects those groups have had on LGBTQ individuals
SCP-4703 - Perfectly Legal: A store in Texas called Yeah, We're Totally Going to Sell You This which through anomalous means makes all its dangerous and unethical business practices perfectly legal, thank you very much
SCP-5004 - MEGALOMANIA: The Foundation conspires to make Donald Trump president to contain a demon underneath the Capitol and gets more and more depressed as they realise they won't have to do any manipulation to get him elected
SCP-5167/SCP-5761 - When The Imposter is Sus Part I & II: The Foundation creates an AI tasked to play games of Among Us to track down a minor Greek god who is playing the game, only for the AI to play so much Among Us they ascend and become Amogusrath, God of Suspicion
SCP-5449 - Choo Choo Spooder: An intelligent jumping spider who uses a wooden toy train to deliver things to staff across Site-47
SCP-5721 - What Passes As Worship In The Digital Age: The goddess Discordia poses as the Founder of Hammer and Chisel, creators of the Discord chat application and adds a clause which states all users pledge their souls to her, allowing her to siphon the vital energies of its userbase
SCP-5790 - [DATA KILLED]: A spiritual successor to SCP-579, no details about the anomaly and instead describes the procedures used to acquire information about the anomaly when needed
SCP-6101 - The Most Powerful SCP: The Make-A-Wish asks the Foundation to classify nine year old Ethan Prosper as the most powerful SCP
SCP-6102(031) - For Classification: Small Organism, No Function: An SCP document generated by an autoarchavist AI living in a future where there are millions of documented SCPs
SCP-6135 - We Didn't Start the SCP: A copy of Billy Joel's Stormfront album with an altered version of We Didn't Start the Fire containing references to groups and individuals who don't exist, like Harry Potter, Pokemon, and the Taliban
SCP-6136 - two dudes chilling in an interrogation room, five feet apart cause they're not happy: Completely unrelated to that one vine, it's a physical mnemonic device which gives you memories related to pliers and because of this is a pair of pliers
SCP-6383 - The One True Anomaly: A stop sign classified as anomalous because it is the single least anomalous thing in the universe
SCP-6442 -Mimir, Mímir: A congnitohazard etched inside a carbon-fibre based elastomer sphere so that the only beings who will ever perceived it are those who attain omniscience, of which over 8000 have and all died instantly upon seeing it
SCP-6690 - NO MORE PURPLE DINOSAUR: The Muppets (who are alive; a detail never commented on by the document) created the "I hate you, you hate me. Let's go out and kill Barney." song, which causes event to occur which can injure or kill whoever is the current actor for Barney the Dinosaur
SCP-6930 - 🔴 Paty Is Streaming Now: Remember SCP-3930 (the Pattern Screamer), the Russian facility which does not exist but when a specific region is observed your mind fills the void until there's an entity real enough to suffer and hate you for making them aware of their non-existence? Yeah, one of those got out, and she's a vtuber now
SCP-7529 - Josie's Better Half: The back half of a cat which a Foundation researcher is convinced is the back half of SCP-529, the front half of a cat with a different coat colour, and after he tries to force them together who voids the universe's insurance policy
SCP-7777 - Heptaphobia: A phenomenon that affects Random Number Generators to produce sequences of 0's and 7's which when translated into ASCII reveal unethical actions taken by the Foundation
SCP-7918 - RONALD REAGAN DIES OF ACQUIRED IMMUNODEFICIENCY SYNDROME-RELATED COMPLICATIONS: An anomalous recording of Ronald Regan in the terminal stages of HIV/AIDS while recounting stories of his political career and what seem to be annecdotes of an alternate version of himself that was dating a man
SCP-8008 - TIME PERVERT: Real life writer and founder of LessWrong, Elizier Yudkowsky ascends to godhood after blasting rope to hentai trap his mind in a million year timeloop, remoulds the multiverse into a series of self-indulgent narratives, and modifies baseline humans into our current appearance to fit his sexual preferences, which by the standards of the original timeline make us the equivalent of those anime girls who look 12 with breasts larger than their heads
SCP-8981 - RONALD REAGAN'S PRESIDENTIAL REPUTATION CUT UP WHILE 😳ING: Spiritual successor to SCP-1891 (RONALD REGAN CUT UP WHILE TALKING), it is a collection of anomalies which randomly affect Ronald Regan, including the manifestation of a homonculus created by the Foundation as a body double for his public appearances which exhibits strange behaviours after a failed assassination like trying to crossbreed dogs and horses and attempting to eat a baby

173 Influential SCPs
I went to SCPper, found the most upvoted articles by users who've made at least one SCP, and sorted by time. These aren't necessarily the 173 best articles on the site, but I think they're likely to be the most influential. Longtime fans have probably read most or all of these but maybe this could be a starting point for newcomers.
I think sorting by time is important because the Foundation's been around almost 17 years. Writers come and go, trends come and go, new writers are influenced by what came before, and later articles are often longer and more complex than earlier ones. Just sorting by most upvoted bounces you around time; on the main wiki you read mostly series 1 articles then get dunked into SCP-5000. I hope this is a more natural progression, and that by the end people have more context for what's going on.
Using upvotes from writers only is important because the more writers like an article, the more likely later SCPs are to be influenced by it, so those articles are more likely to be important for understanding the wiki as a whole.
I might do an alternate version of this list that replaces the extremely long articles with shorter SCPs.
If you have trouble understanding one of the articles (some of the later ones get LONG), look it up on r/SCPDeclassified. If you would prefer audio narration/explanations, The Exploring Series and TheVolgun are both excellent. And of course, make sure to look in the sidebar on the wiki for guides, lists and explanations.

The Shark Punching Center, the Selachiosk Pungix Combin, the Centre — whatever they're referred to as, they're a GoI that punches sharks that was born from the typo of SPC.
Much like the SCP Foundation itself, the SPC has no one single canon, but rather a series of loosely connected documents. All of them have one thing in common: a monomania for punching sharks. Beyond that, go wild. Some SPCs are set in the Foundationverse itself. Some are set in a full-on alternate universe with a full implied alternate history.
There are three main 'philosophies' when it comes to the SPC, with significant overlap.
The earliest approach, and still the most common, is jokes about shark punching. They're just a group of random people with no real characterization other than punching sharks. I don't have much to say about this beyond that. If you need a shark punched or a random act of violence against something or someone that resembles a shark, use the SPC. No one will question it. It's time tested, and people have done it with great success before.
The next approach is a focus on the sheer absurdity of the existence of people whose life's work is to punch sharks. The prime example of this would be S D LockeS D Locke's SPC-2935-J. This is pushing the idea to the extreme. These people will do anything to punch sharks, and the multiverse is more than willing to grant them the opportunity to do so. An alternate approach is Critter Profile: Wobbles!, where an agent of the SPC infiltrates a wildlife shelter. It's ridiculous and unexpected, as opposed to mere violence. And of course, PeppersGhostPeppersGhost's SPC-001 proposal, which answers the question of what happens when there are no more sharks to punch.
The final approach is jokes about shark punching but as a backdrop for cosmic horror. This approach originated with Djoric in SCP-1449, where the existence of the SPC arose from the death of an incredibly important cosmic shark and so reality became horrifically wrong.
This last approach is what MrWrongMrWrong embraced and revived when he created the SPC GoI format for SPC-2615 and SPC-2000, and it was similarly adopted by sirpuddingsirpudding in SPC-140 and SPC-682 and LORDXVNVLORDXVNV in SPC-1258 and SPC-1981. These articles take a darker view of the SPC—that they don't punch sharks because they want to, but because they have to. In this iteration, it's usually referred to as the Centre. (They don't like to say "shark".)
SPC-507 embraces the alternate worldbuilding set up in SPC-140 and SPC-1258, while SPC-3733 embraces the undertone of horror. These are people in a bizarre world, one that compels them to punch sharks.
It sounds absurd, and it is.
But imagine if you knew, with 100% certainty, that your life's sole purpose was to punch sharks.
You would laugh so you would not cry.

Uuuhhh I know some of these SCPs but not all of them, can you tell me their numbers? Thank you!
funny blob (SCP-999 “The Tickle Monster”): orange slime that loves you and is nice to you
the plague doctor (SCP-049 “The Plague Doctor”): doctor that tries to cure “the pestilence” but usually ends up killing people. I just think he’s neat :D
yet another murder monster (SCP-5031 “Yet Another Murder Monster”): I’m not gonna summarize this one because it’s genuinely one of my favorite pieces of short fiction ever and EVERYONE should read it.
the big fucking scary angel (SCP-001 (Dr. Clef’s Proposal) “The Gate Guardian”): giant Angel with a flaming sword that evaporates you instantly. it guards some kind of gate, presumably to heaven or the garden of Eden or something
long corgi (SCP-2952 “C.O.R.G.I”): a 30,000 kilometer long corgi that functions as a train system for tiny 3 centimeter tall people
the toaster that you can only refer to in the first person (SCP-426 “I am a toaster”): I can only be referred to in the first person. I think I’m a very funny scp, despite the thing about me causing people to harm themselves in order to become more like a toaster, but that’s standard scp bullshit
the regenerating cake (SCP-871 “Self-Replicating Cake”): cake that replicates itself every day and could theoretically end the world
the one that’s Literally Just the reader (SCP-3393 “For Your Eyes Only”): where the reader is the anomaly that attempts to find and alter any record of itself
the lizard that hates you (SCP-682 “Hard to Destroy Reptile”): giant lizard that wants to kill you so bad and can’t die
HONORABLE MENTIONS (the two I couldn’t justify):
SCP-963: ok look I KNOW he’s a meme and he’s earned his reputation as a meme but I think a lot of scp writers lean too hard on Dr Bright as a force of chaos and fuckery when he can actually be a really interesting character if you. do something with him. Like hehe silly man but also the inherent horror of immortality. Like Bright being sillygoofy is great and I think it’s good but sometimes that darker part kinda gets thrown away yknow. I put this down here because aside from its connection to Bright, SCP-963 isn’t super interesting tbh. All the cool things about it are connected to Bright, who tends to be a very hit or miss (and somewhat controversial) character from what I’ve seen.
SCP-021-J “Evil Water Bottle”: I love evil water bottle it makes me giggle every time I see it. the discourse this thing started is legendary. it’s a joke scp but it’s real to me. evil :(

So over the summer, I was developing my interpretations of some of the more well-known researchers of the Foundation (not Br*ght—he’s replaced by Osborne in my canon), and I began to have doubts over the races of certain characters.
There was at least one person on this site who claims that the character Dr. Simon Glass is black citing the 5555-J article, but that one was written by AdmonBrite (the misspelling is on purpose). There was also another Tumblr user who claims that Dr. Clef is Middle Eastern based on details from the tale Incident 239 that Author Clef wrote years ago.
Reading these posts only generated more confusion for me than clarification. I mean, there is no canon in the SCP Foundation, but some characters have a canonical physical appearance. So this leads me to ask, “is whitewashing characters that are researchers, field agents, etc. a real problem in the community?”
Honestly I’d just follow what the author themselves say about their characters if applicable and respect that. Obviously pairofducks isn’t round to answer for glass’s race but you can still ask clef directly via his blog @scp-l4-clef-alto-001
That aside any community with characters who are poc will have an issue with whitewashing in my humble opinion, as unfortunate as that is. From the myriad of anime fandoms to even western properties like Amanda the Adventurer. Certain artists just can’t resist either making certain characters the ashiest mfers alive or downright erasing any characteristics that are considered ethnic. It sucks and I can emphasize with the psychic damage it gives writers/developers or fans who identify with the character being whitewashed.

Round 2 bracket
Tumblr media
There's a lot of difficulty matches in this one, and I can only imagine it'll get worse in the upcoming rounds. Good luck everyone. I think this is a round that'll be dedicated by propaganda mainly.
Round 1 Data Analysis
Tumblr media
And my favorite part, numbers!
The Montauk House had the most vote, both for it and as it's poll total. 115 total votes! Impressive.
SCP-1762 (Where The Dragons Went) and SCP-001 (Gate Guardian) was the biggest sweep, with SCP-1762 winning with 87%
Surprisingly, there was two matches that won with a single vote! SCP-105 (Iris) vs SCP-4999 (Someone to Watch Over Us) and Portraits of Your Father vs SCP-006-J. What a narrow victory.
No list of Losers this time, I think I'll save that for proper shout outs in the later rounds.
Next round goes up… now! Ish! Probably the first one is up by the time you're done reading this, and the rest are staggered as usual.

All SCP are non-Keter as the site location is around the ring of a densely populated city.
Notable Personnel!!!
aka me and my friend’s ocs—
Dr.Deltas
Tumblr media
Name: Felix J. Deltas
Occupation: Head of International Communication, Researcher
Security Clearance Level: 3
Location: Site-20, UK
Current Case: SCP-7517
Ethnicity: Egyptian
Citizenship: American
Profile
Felix Deltas is a researcher positioned in Site-20 with extensive knowledge of Item class SCPs and general Anomalous Items. He finished his education with a Master’s degree in Science in Psychology and has conducted several paranormal investigations yielding varying yet successful results each time.
Previous to working with the Foundation, Deltas worked on a YouTube channel where he uploaded recordings of his paranormal work. Such investigative recordings are now confiscated and wiped from the internet with a cover-up story from the DOM stating he “moved on from the paranormal community and is now focusing his time as a full-time Psychologist in California, USA”.
Additional Notes
Dr. Deltas is capable of speaking 10 languages. These are Egyptian Arabic, English, Spanish, Tagalog, Latin, Japanese, Korean, French, Chinese and German. New foreign researchers are sent to him for day-one training.
He also knows Pig Latin to the dismay of his colleagues. Do not indulge him on this as he once wrote an entire research paper in Pig Latin. It took several days for someone to notice this and have him correct it. Site directors were not pleased.
Once Dr. Deltas has finished researching SCP-7517, he will not be allowed to work with Dr. Ulysses. No, not even if he says please. There have already been enough complaints about Dr.Deltas misconduct from Dr.Ulysses, and other researchers seem to find them very "distracting".
Dr. Deltas is prohibited from accessing Legos, Lego-like bricks and anything alike during working hours as he will find a way to incorporate them into his work and even conduct experiments with them, with or without Director approval. He has also caused several problems using such toys, see Site 20:Lego Stand-off Report.
Note: For the last time do not edit this file to state that Dr. Deltas and Dr. Ulysses are in a relationship. That information is not only irrelevant but unconfirmed. We are still waiting for Dr. Ulysses’s email of confirmation, patiently.
Note: For the last time do not edit this file to state Dr. Deltas and Dr. Ulysses are in a relationship. We know. That information is also highly irrelevant.

From this point onward it’s gonna be a lot less formal since I don’t have proper files on most people—

Agent Camila
Tumblr media
When Felix ran away from home and escaped to Egypt, Maya followed in his footsteps. She followed breadcrumbs he left behind and ended up joining the California Police Department as a detective.
A few years later, she snuck into Site-20 to find Felix and succeeded— at a cost. She now permanently works for the Foundation and her death was faked to the outside world.
She works as the Site’s “Background Checker” and makes sure no one is up to no good.
Dr.Ulysses
Tumblr media
An excellent and highly praised British researcher that’s constantly in Autistic burn out and injects coffee in his blood to cope.
He does a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to research activities and it’s a miracle the coffee hasn’t killed him yet.
For the love of god don’t touch his coffee machine, he has a personal one for a reason and we’re sure what he drinks could kill a god—
Agent Tarkorov
Tumblr media
Second in command of site security, don’t let his Bulgarian accent scare you, he’s very much a fun person to be around as long as you don’t piss him off!
Commonly seen with either Felix causing mayhem or gossiping with Maya about what someone did in the office.
Dr. Maya
Tumblr media
Your average fanfic writer, accidents-that-cause-hiatuses included!
She was roped in by the Foundation’s university program she joined thinking it was a normal school and moved out of Pakistan for it. Oh dear god she was wrong. She was so very wrong.
She also writes fanfiction about Judah and Felix-
Agent Jett
Tumblr media
Despite being head of Security training, no one knows much of the person but he’s usually seen either with Maya and Tarkorov or drinking her ass off at the bar with Felix.
They’re nice, he promises.
Dr.Ares
Tumblr media
Site Director themselves. She’s very professional at her job and only tolerates bad behaviour Once. Two strikes and you’re out.
He takes an interest in bugs, but wouldn’t tell a soul that besides Maya.
Almost always seen wearing a mask due to their crippling asthma. Despite that, they are in fact a medical doctor!
Dr.N
Tumblr media
Man, what’s up with that mask??
Jett swears he’s seen those goggles before.
Besides that, He’s just your average researcher really.

i've been fucking with scp-001½-j lately and i personally find it really funny that one of the negatives it can generate is "you start to recognize the bodies in the water" because like. i already do. i have for a long time now. the situation between me and that cognitohazard genuinely cannot get any worse than it already is. you're just giving me whatever you're offering free of charge
